You know that this isn't going to happen.
Anyways my game got canceled, one person couldn't make it and another lost internet connection. It's only been two months since I've played/run a game ;-;
Asking again from Anyone know how to gain some kind of damage from using a Dirty Trick on someone? This user pointed out a 3pp prestige class called the Daredevil, but I'm having trouble finding the right one.
One of my games is explicitly for lewds, and the other just has a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff but ERP has happened before.
This week the non-lewd game curbstomped a group of heroes that were eight levels above them. Cleric with two Planetar allies, reach build inquisitor with tiger companion, kitsune fey sorcerer and an archer paladin.
The party is all PoW, and they had some close calls with SoL spells and a cave in from Earthquake, but made short work of anything they got close to. Close being relative, since one of them dropped the cleric from a hundred feet back with a bow.
We're about to have a session where we're wrapping up a land dispute between a human city that dislikes other races and an orc tribe that has been wrongfully pushed out of their land. We just got the druid tribe to support the orcs so I think it should go smoothly from here. The city leader is a mean son of a bitch dragonkin though. Which is ironic considering the city's contempt for non human races. Regardless, we killed his general and negotiations will be held soon. If they break down, we'll incite a riot against him and storm the castle.
That god awful Facebook thread is still going. Who the fuck dropped this Sam guy on his head as a child?
Game should start in like, 4-5 hours. Unless it gets canceled again. Which it just might, because the other players seem to always forget to drink a fucking cup of coffee before sitting down GOD DAMN.
In the meantime, for shits'n'giggles I'm looking at the Warlock Vigilante and trying to figure out how hard it would be to just make it a standalone class with an entirely different name. Using the vigilante version as a jumping off point to make it easier to eyeball features. The problem I'm running into though is that the Vigilante actually feels REALLY overloaded, despite not actually being stronger than similar classes. There's just SO MANY THINGS packed into everything. It gets an entire set of social talents, and a lot of the vigilante talents scale up, are "feat plus bonus feature", or sometimes both. Why on earth does the vigilante get SO MANY THINGS?
WHY DOES IT GET SO MANY THINGS?
>WHY DOES IT GET SO MANY THINGS?
So rogues couldn't get them.
>curbstomped a group of heroes that were eight levels above them
>The party is all PoW
>close calls with SoL spells and a cave in from Earthquake
>Cleric with two Planetar allies, reach build inquisitor with tiger companion, kitsune fey sorcerer and an archer paladin
>eight levels above them
...and people wonder why it gets banned.
Because, contrary to all expectations, the vigilante is actually pretty decent.
I'm paraphrasing another user who said it better, but classically paizo has always developed good ideas with poor implementation. the Vigilante, though, was kind of a piss poor idea due to the already existing thing known as 'basically every other class'.
And then they somehow made it work, in a literal reversal of their normal paradigm. Someone probably realized the reason why wizards are good is because they do, in fact, get "SO MANY THINGS" and then attempted to apply that to a non-caster.
