You aren't going to be making much mining. Max around $120/month, and that's if you don't use your computer for anything but mining 24/7. Your mom will probably kick you out when she sees the power bills you are bumping up, too.

It is really inefficient if you are mining bitcoin, but if you know which and how to mine other things, you can make an alright amount of money with even a 1060. He should just use nicehash, though, because he isn't smart enough to figure out how to actually mine. He'll get about half as much, but around $100/month isn't too terrible.
