1st for nid MCs are OP

1st for WAAAUUGGHHHH!!!

So, I've been working on the colors of my Knight house. I love this shade of red, but it doesn't seem to work well with other colors, particularly ones that work well as noble heraldry.

The only colors that I can really think that would match are white and black, however the former seems a little too bold, and the latter isn't a very heraldic color.

Any suggestions?

Reposting: what are the options for power armor in 40k? Working on making inquisitors and storm bolter acolytes, so I need armor without chapter parts.

so does a heavy weapons team count as a single model with 2 wounds?

I also forgot to mention it may be worthwhile taking a look at the Fantasy range. They are a slightly smaller scale but it's possible to use regular plate armor as a base and then 40k it up.

FW kits have some cool non specific power armor. There are a few GW kits that can be combined to make some cool stuff; Sternguard + Command Squad kits, etc.

So I went on GW's website, look at what's new and the pre-order page, and notice the Box DLC with the Start collecting boxes+ a little something. And all the tank stuff too!

And here I was thinking that I was going to start a 30k legion, when all these deals make me want to get them.

Plastic Enginseer!

Why do the Ruststalkers have the option to trade in their grenade and chord claw for duel wielding transonic blades?

Makes no sense to trade in your one fleshbane attack, especially when you still get the bonus for duel wielding melee weapons and transonic rule. Not to mention no more assault grenades.

I guess GW writers thought S6(?) on the charge was worth losing assault grenades for. Go figure.

The strength is user and they all have furious charge.

MkII armor seems like a great start, it looks different enough I doubt I will be called out on it. I just need to add some Is and whatever weapons and they will be good to go.

Thanks everyone.

Blades give +1 str.

The claw + dagger are S:User (S4), the blades are +1 S (S5), FC gives +1 S on the charge. 4 + 1 + 1 is ?

Oh, I was looking at the razor profile. Still, fleshbane attacks seem like a better deal when fighting something big.

Are ruststalkers or infiltrators better in general? What are they each good for (with best loadout)?

They both do good on killing certain things. Ruststalkers have a chance, and after the first round, to kill terminators because their weapons gain AP2. They got a grenade that wounds on a 4+, but it's not that special. Along with furious charge.

Infiltrators can have powerswords or tasergoads. But their mind scrambler ability makes enemies lose 1 Initative, Attack, and WS.

They're both good for small elite units, but a big enough squad of infiltrators can probably clear out blobs.

What do for Tzeentch?

s6 is a pretty important threshhold to cross as it lets you pen AV11 on a 6 and ID anything T3

Most vehicles have AV10 on the rear, which is what you hit in close combat. Unless you're fighting a walker, then you're fucked.

Though a bit surprised on how many things out there are T3, say goodbye to any eldar.

Draw your spinal fluid

Brain juice.

Chordclaw+Grenade is basically always better yeah.

>you would think Blades might be a lot better vs AV10 vehicle rears: Stalkers are S5 on the charge though so basically about the same amount of glances i.e. never fucking trade "arguably the best grenade in the game"+Fleshbane for Blades.

Its not quite as bad now that grenades are only one per unit.

6 grav centaurians in a ROC storm eagle with an HQ in terminator armor...

overkill?

not just eldar, but any guard, non suited up tau, inquisitor, sister, etc.

ask someone to put a random fluid in it without telling you what it is.

Yeah that's overkill as fuck. Try breaking the squad in half and putting others in a drop pod.

Your tears

I suppose but a mindscrambler nade is still a haywire/semi-poison/assault grenade.

Not to mention adding the cordclaw to the mix means you're getting a "wounds on 4+" besides your "wounds on 2+" too.

break fluid/simple green it is

If you take a prehensile dataspike on the unit leader you can just hit any vehicle with 4 haywire attacks + another from a mook using their grenade.

>guaranteedreplies.jpg

What is a centaurian? Is it like an abhuman rough rider?

but does it ID eldar snowflakes?

All the eldar stuff you want to ID comes on bikes.

It's almost never a good idea to give acolytes power armor. Way too expensive, you're better off taking just carapace (AT MOST) or none at all.

Oh I know. Some things are just about the look and/or fluff of it. It is an Ordo Xenos army with a genestealet cult fighting theme, power armor and terminators are par the course.

... I suppose. Might be a better idea to take a lib and some marines and just fluff/paint as your acolytes.

devastator centaurians are like crappy, overcosted terminators with no invul saves that are T5, have and extra wound, can take grav and don't have a power fist.

The regular space marine box doesn't have any insignia.

Look to fantasy kits though for best results. Space marine power armor is chunky and filled with space marine support systems, but power armor used by a normal person would be a lot slimmer and not have any of that.

Plasma or Melta for IG?

if i take juggernaut of corn does my unit count as bulky?

This is my current army. I'm drunk as shit and have the extreme urge to make a purchase, what can I buy that's strong as fuck and will surprise the fuck out of my friend who's rolling Nurgle CSM/CD? A landraider? A terminator squad? Another dreadnought?

depends what you expect to fight more

That is a super awesome model. It's incredibly tempting. All the 'character' models have been really good recently. Ulric, Wolf Priest, BA Chaplain and this Ad Mech guy.

AV? Melta.

Anything with T? Plasma.

Depends on if he's been husked or not. Be on the safe side and treat the unit as bulky to avoid an earful from your opponents if you're wrong.

Purple

>Centurions
>overcosted
>relative to Terminators

They are usually shit but grav makes them worth every point. Terminators have been the original overcosted pointsink estd. 3rd edition.

This is more or less what I'm up against

Stormtalon filled with death company

I remember when people used to take terminators for the dakka they provided.

Thanks, I'll take plasma and get some melta if the need arises

oh, you subtle bastard...

They haven't had good dakka in forever.

i just meant they were overcosted, not overcosted relative to terminators.

grav should be removed from the game

there is nothing it does that other things don't already do, but grav does everything at once AND without Gets Hot!

it does reign in some of the tau and eldar bullshoot sure, but already weak units like terminators or MANz just get dumped on even harder

I find centurions to be pretty tough actually. the no invul is kind of lame but t5 with 2 wounds and 2+ save will make them withstand pretty much all basic troop fire consistently.

I know, it's just nowadays you take terminators as a close combat unit first and a shooty unit never. It's funny to think about how massive the changes have been to how terminators are used.

storm bolters used to be good dakka?

We haven't quite taken to the skies yet so hopefully a Death Company will do.

desu, they are terrible against horde armies.

yeah, but anybody running grav or plamsa will wipe the board with 'em

What's the consensus here, is taking a Relic Sicaran tank at 1000 points a dick move?

who changed "to be honest" to desu? I don't even think they mean the same thing, do they?

Remove the amp from all but Centurions. Give units a save equal to their toughness. Remove the "Immobilizes Vehicles on a six" bit. Tweak the cost on Relentless platforms.

Now Grav has a niche, hunting big monsters with good saves, while still being okay at killing elite infantry.

Stormbolters and two cyclone missile launchers per 5 terminators was fantastic dakka when rapid fire had movement limitations.

The issue was that you needed to avoid close combat with them unless it was a weakened unit you could dunk on with powerfists, as just about everyone was carrying a power weapon which ignored all armour saves.

>Needing ID for a 3-wound T4 model that can barely put up a fight in melee

If you can manage to charge a jetseer it's dead anyway, you'll bury it in attacks.

because off brand moot got tired of seeing it

Oh, you mean centurions!

well those are special weapons so yea they'll wreck a lot of things.

Not really.

I thought you only got 1 ML per every 5?

but then cents have nipple bolters as well to make up for that, they're pretty cool all round.

It's from when desu was used as a full stop, (t)(b)(h) is more often than not used in the same way on the shittier boards.

"Desu" doesn't really mean anything, and neither does the phrase "to be honest" the majority of the time.
Grav is king. It does pretty good against hordes. The numbers are posted pretty frequently.

>He never got to experience Sustained Fire

>Daemons player
>tfw opponent brings gravspam

imma have to see the numbers on gaunts or orks being somehow vulnrable to grav

in 3ed it wasn't restricted, you could just take two per squad.

>How about an "informal" request?
>punches you in the nutz with a powerfist

They probably wouldn't be taken today even if they still had CML spam like back then.

That's how it is today, yeah. I'm talking around 4th ed where you could take two heavy weapons per squad and TH/SS was a free swap.

Oh shit I forgot about sustained fire! I never got to experience it in 40k but man, it reigns supreme in necromunda.

>You fool!
>I gave my testicles to chaos long ago!

what is "sustained fire"?

Basically instead of being 'assault 2' or whatever a weapon could have the option roll a number of sustained fire dice, which are basically d3s with the chance of blowing up with certain weapons. For example assault cannons were sustained 3 I think, so you could get 9 shots out of it if you were lucky, and you have 2 in each terminator squad.

There's a rule in necromunda that allows you to spray out the shots into other targets within 4" of the original target as well, but I'm not sure if it was in regular 40k.

Nice trips

Okay, I need some clarification on some points.

Your captains. Why are they on foot? Why do they not have artificer armor? Why does one have a combi plasma? What unit will they be sitting with? Walk us through your plans for your captains.

Well it makes them less shit when they're BA or SW. Since the former make you do +1S and +1I (with formations) and the later basically get +1A.

>his testicles are replaced by huge eyes
>eyeballs if you will

>tfw made mine lascannon devs because i don't like grav
i should have magnetized...

So I want to start a Space Marine Army.

Would Betrayal at Calth and three Rhinos be a good start?

Would I be better off with two Start Collecting boxes and two Rhinos?

I am trying to decide between Salamanders and Dark Angels.

Is Battle Company the go to base for an army. I understand I can build it in demi companies.

What would be a good Auxiliary to bring with?

Grav will likely get a nerf somehow. I think current Grav weapons should be limited to Centurions with Grav Amps.

But then again, I play BA, so I don't get Grav anyway *kicks can away*

Grav really needs a role change instead of competing with plasma.

I don't have a problem with grav on the units its on or the profiles they have, I just don't understand why they gave devastators grav amps.

buff plasma pls
