How would you run a Malal army?

Which is your most beloved unit in your army?

Which one has net you the most points ever?

My Deredeo dreadnought, Ancient Valentine. His current average is 500 points of killed models per game, while his all-time record is 1600 points. This is a 255 point model that is so badass, I named him the captain of my first company.

well my new favorite is the bloodthrister i finished last week and the most useful model is the burning chariot or a daemon prince

This thread is Undead!

>Which is your most beloved unit in your army?

Interrogator Chaplin

>Which one has net you the most points ever?

Multimelta Attack Bikes. 55pts 2w Multimelta s with scout? Yeah that's gonna double its points all day.

>start up a Daemons army
>tfw can use them for AoS if I wanted
>tfw can use them for HH
live is good as warpspawn

Probably my Archmagos, just finished converting and building her this afternoon. Wanted something very different from the hunched, scary Dominus.

Use a Chaos version of the Grey Knights. Malal and his followers are against everyone, but they love to fight their fellow Chaotics the most. They should be able to use the CSMs' lackluster codex against them. Just give every Son of Malice model a book instead of proper weapons, and have them beat other CSMs to death with their own codex.

>that Magos
Woman, cover your fleshy bits. The machine spirits are too young for that.

holy shit where did you get that hot body from?

So are these stormtroopers

I'm still looking in to which since certain companies have certain units. I'd feel pretty full of myself if I made a first company squad so I might go for something like a 3rd or 4th that still has the troops I want but... ya know.. Where should I get my lore on Blood Angels? The codex has nice shit but I need more. Also I kind of want this to be MY army. Obviously it needs to fit the lore but I don't want to feel so restricted

Raging Heroes. Cost me 25 quid, but I've wanted the model ever since she came out. Finally have an army that makes sense for her.

Why another com hq

I am looking to see where I can drop 25 points from this casual list so I can replace the power weapon on the lord with terminator armor

>996 pts Combined Arms Detachment (CSM)

>80 pts Chaos Lord, Power Weapon
>355 pts Chaos Space Marines, 15x additional Chaos Space Marine, 20x Mark of Slaanesh, Icon of Excess, Power Weapon (Champion)
>52 pts Rhino, Havoc Launcher, Combi-Bolter
>50 pts Cultists
>64 pts Cultists, 9x Autogun, 1x Flamer
>64 pts Cultists, 9x Autogun, 1x Heavy Stubber
>121 pts Chaos Space Marine Terminators, 2x Combi-weapon (Melta), 1x Combi-weapon (Melta) (Champion), 1x chainfist
>70 pts Obliterator
>70 pts Obliterator
>70 pts Obliterator

the rhino is the visual centerpiece of the army, don't really want to drop it

taking away all of the weapons from the cultists would do it, but man, naked cultists just feel so useless, even as objective holders.

feel no pain marines still have their bolters... could take away their markes and feel no pain, but even at the absurd price the FNP is a great value

yes I've already been told I will get tabled on turn 2 and that my terminators and oblits will just scatter everywhere

FW's HH books. The recent book has some tidbits of lore, but isn't the full package yet.

>TWO squads of scions and a taurox for 85 dollerydoos
pretty cool

>hideous finecrap commissar
why bother including this turd

That's insane. I'll stick with las and melta.

Actually now that I look at it, seeing as I'll mainly be playing against my friend doing Nurgle CSM/CD I guess 5th company is most appropriate. Daemonbanes.

Kek, buying four of those lets you use the formation that requires 1 commissar, 4 scion squads, and 4 tauroxes.

Except it's the plastic commissar, so it's all good.
Only bundle off the top of my head that mixes finecast with plastic was the old khorne daemonkin starter army with a finecast herald.

the commisar is a new model, gotta promote

Can't wait for the box's formation

if it's like the other getting started boxes, buying one will let you use the formation that comes with the box.

call me crazy, but I really like the look of the Taurox

I like the half track mod or even the four tires

Overall better than rhinos n Razorbacks

Not a bad choice i went for the 2nd company because bad asses who put their minds to the extreme of the red thirst to conquer it. just remember tho they are Your Dudes so you dont have to follow the company exactly.

Have you considered playing Orks?

you're crazy.

It's the micro tracks that get me. If it was a half track I'd get it, but as is, it just looks like they don't know how to make round wheels.

oh so it is plastic

I just assumed it was finecrap because it was butt ugly with a goofy pose

I guess if you replace the legs, and maybe the power sword it could look alright

yes, but I'll never be on the level of Ian Wyatt

I kind of like it. The treads are a little silly but aren't that bad compared to zog off robots, Sanata Claus's wolf driven sled, and modern Wulfen.

I'm making 5th company Blood Angels as well. The current captain is named Sendini and the company shoulder drop is black. That's all the info we really have on them. If you plan to field the company standard you'll have to make your own design because there isn't an offical picture from GW.

Is there any other info you need?

...

...

>DA EMPEROR'S GREENEST!

That's kind of what's so fucking addictive and fun about this hobby. Yeah you should follow the lore and stick to the detachments... but it's your fucking army. As long as its within reason, you can do whatever the fuck you want. If I want to make the forgotten Blood Ravens My Little Pony faggot rainbow army that rides ponies in to battle, I fucking can. I'll start researching 5th company so I can follow it closely, seeing as I also have a bike squad, a librarian, and a terminator squad I'll have to kind of go outside of what's listed for 5th company but.. Daemonbanes sounds excessively appropriate and will spur my friend to dig deep in to Nurgle lore to make his own army more unique.

>13 Chaplians
Seems a little too low.

I personally recommend that if your are going to use the rules for marking squads buy the transfer sheet as drawing skulls are hell.

...

...

I still don't quite understand how transfer sheets work. I thought they were stickers but they don't appear to be. Gonna dig the one that came with my battleforce out, 1 sec.

Dante's been spending their budget on Land Raiders and Stormravens.

Follow Lord Duncan's advice on how to apply them. He gives a tutorial in the Imperial Knight video.

Check GW's How to Paint an Ultramarines Tactical Marine.

Duncan covers it later on in the video.

They work similar to temp tattoos.

they are waterslide transfers

you get them a little wet for a bit, then the symbol slides off the paper and into some place you didn't want it

youtu.be/I36AWCdNJCY?t=2m17s

sshhh dont tell them if the admech figure out we been illegaly importing vehicles they will be up our ass till next year.

My favorite unit is either Death Company with jump packs, or the GUO.

The most effective unit is either the old tri-plas Executioner with Pask or Wyverns. Most points ever goes to a double melee Knight that rampaged through a Tau gunline throwing Riptides and stomping Pathfinders. It was like 1200 points in 3 turns iirc.

No wonder I felt like I was doing the right thing this one time I was playing a BA successor chapter on Chapter Master.
>Found a Slaughtersong
>20,000 requisition points
>decided to suspend all funding for specialists until I had enough money to give to a techmarine to patch up the ship you need
>Slaughtersong!
>none of the docmarines or Chaplians died
>Libbies didn't have perils, metal boxes didn't explode which did not cause my marines to stress out and go Black Rage
>felt good realizing what causes the Black Rage
>felt even better with the Slaughtersong as my flagship

So wait, Malal is a god but hates Chaos?

>Adult supervision may be required
are brits really that afraid of hobby knives?

Oh and for the record, I had gotten so drunk that I almost bought an Imperial Knight thinking how fucking hilarious it'd be if I just fucking field a titan against my friends starting army. I mean except for their weapons they basically have the same armor as a dreadnought.. also they just look so fucking cool I might buy one just cuz I want to stare at it all day.

>Which is your most beloved unit in your army?
I'm partial to burning chariots.

>Which one has net you the most points ever?
Are we including summoned units? If so I'd say Kairos Fateweaver because he summons burning chariots.

Children aren't always the best at being able to respond to an emergency.

This fucking Assault Sergeant.

I gave him a Grav-Pistol and a Power Sword because I thought it looked cooler and my friends aren't WYSIWYG guys, but I decided to actually use that loadout one game.

Once he started using it, he became Death. Anything he runs into dies. The man is a machine who knows nothing but kill.

I don't think children would bother with transfers

or half the stuff duncan does for that matter

I know when I was 12 I didn't thin paints at all or have any concept of a highlight or wash

He's Chaos against Chaos. A parasite that gets stronger as Chaos itself gets stronger. This can help suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/39054250/

Indeed! He is the Lord of Contradictions, and is hated by all. In fact, he wishes to not be worshipped, and instead of having his own Daemons, he corrupts the Daemons of the other Chaos gods into serving him.

The Sons of Malice are a CSM warband dedicated to him.

I don't like the tracks
I don't like the doors
I don't like how the model is shorter than a chimera
I LOVE the interior and the hull

Depends on if you have hobbyist parents or not.

Oh shit, that really is easy as hell. Thanks for that tip. I'll probably try to get some paints tomorrow or Friday and.... damn, I'm kind of anxious and excited at the same time. I can't paint for shit and will be using the models from the Dark Vengeance kit as kind of a guinea pig for painting before working on my Battleforce

>that actually cool interior that looks like it could actually fit ten guys in it, unlike the clowncar rhino

Oi!
Get a life, bin that knife!

I fucking love it.

So tempted to buy a few of those and start a Scions army.

remember to pick up some primer.
is the ardcoat really required to get the transfer to stick?

What's the difference between the Scions Taurox and the IG Taurox? I can't remember, and I'd love to be able to swap them around.

what? no

that can't be real

Clown car logic isn't nothing to laugh about. The smaller it is the more clowns it can hold, user. Do you know how many clowns a clown car the size of a thimble could hold?

the ard coat isn't about sticking but rather both getting a uniform finish and protecting the transfer

transfers are naturally very glossy, and normal paint is not

transfers are also very delicate once dried and are damaged very easily

some kind of sealer solves both these problems

Sounds like my kind of guy.

I'd totally play Chaos if I could play Malal armies.

the Scions have the Taurox Prime (IG scions also can get this)

it is faster, has a miniature battle cannon, can take a teleport homer (scions can deep strike, so great synergy), and more weapons options

More/different guns modelwise
Easy with magnets

Any of the Blooded in this Thread?

They need a Frank.
Do it. Smash the skulls and drain the blood for Khorne, lay waste to Tzeentch's plans, make sure Nurgle's diseases never see fruit, and end Slaanesh's pleasures! m.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ9QOxzPaak

Hmmm...

My only problem is that I'm autistic enough to not like to use magnets.

Velcro then.

Disgusting.

You should learn better, I did them and I'm glad I started.
But you could just stick all the weapons on and clarify what's what to your opponent.

pts Cultists, 9x Autogun, 1x Flamer
pts Cultists, 9x Autogun, 1x Heavy Stubber
Thats not how it works, the flamer/stubber and the champ both cannot have the autogun upgrade, so you need 8xAutogun instead.

consider changing Chaos Lord to Chaos Sorceror. Termi armor for Sorceror costs only 25pts since he already comes with a force weapon. you will however loose fearless which is good if you want to stick the lord in the bigass marine squad.
Also there is no such thing as power weapon. Which one do you want? Axe, sword, lance or maul. Most people I know will want you to specify that during listwriting.

As for your question exchange the chainfist of the termi-squad for power maul, as they usually die fast and drop 1 or two of the slaanesh marines. Also consider dropping the autoguns for autopistols on the flamer squad and have them ride inside the rhino. Tankshock and flame your way to victory.

Also if you do not follow the lore, consider that the lore means the 5th ca 999M41 so you could easily say its the 5th company from like 2500years before that. So you have much more room for

So a few threads ago someone asked why my Captains didn't have artificer armor. Do you have to make your dudes look a certain way for artificer armor or do you just say "btw this guy is wearing artificer armor"?

You can just say it, most players will expect them to have it anyway.

copy pasted some old version of the list about the autoguns, so that shaves off two points

the chain fist was so they could do stuff after their combi-weapons run out, if they live at all

as for the power weapon: sword so he can strike at initiative. I am too used to the old versions that didn't differentiate, but for what it is worth, the codex just says "power weapon"

paint him up slightly different, my bloodcrusher champ has a blue sword for a gift instead of red and he's white so he stands out

Dark Angels.

Beloved? Space Turkey with Disco Stick.

Most points? Pink Horrors. Last game I had a single unit take out two Knights.

Chainfist: I know, but sorry, they won't live more often than not. Also power maul is free and gives you 3 S6 attacks on the charge. Per model. Enough to open most tanks, as your melee hits the rear armor by default (Mostly 10). Power Axes give you S5 but that sweet AP1 for fightin against other termis or similar things. Chainfist simply costs too much for something dubbed

Power weapon: But the rulebook says you need to differentiate, mostly look @ model but this was established because some clowns convieniently brought 3 models choosing the most useful option after they saw the opponents army. So its just good practice to state beforehand what you think.

Can he take a Lightning Claw? It's better than the Power Sword and gives you an extra attack with either weapon.

Who told you about our Malal Familiars!?

I like my lasboat predator(lascannon sponsons, TL lascannon). It is not the greatest unit, it does not see play often but I really like how it looks.

Most points ever, firedragons as they can really dish out much hurt. And die afterwarts.

Anyone else do a custom color scheme/ not stick to established lore for their army? I originally wanted to make my nids like xenomorphs but it looked a little bland and settled on this. Just curious to see what's more common, established colors or improvised/custom.

>muh purple yellow Ravenwing
>muh yellow purple Deathwing

lightning claw is only better against MEQ if you have more than 3 attacks, otherwise pistol and sword is better

I know what you mean, but at 1000 points the odds that they will live past one turn seem much better

the maul also does not give an extra attack unless paired with a pistol

No it wont, the power sword gives an extra attack if combined with the bolt pistol, for a lightning claw, the character needs a second specialist weapon, which he does not have. Furthermore OP wanted to save points to turn the lord into a Termilord. A lightning claw for a termi lord is *more* expensive than the power sword.

>I know what you mean, but at 1000 points the odds that they will live past one turn seem much better

You wanted to slice points somewhere, if I read you right.

>the maul also does not give an extra attack unless paired with a pistol
Never claimed otherwise, Termis have 2 attacks base and the 3rd is the bonus attack for charging.

i like to mix it up. my bloodthrister is fairly red but his wing tips and nails are bright blue. i don't expect anyone to call me out on his nails or on the tabletop because who could call him a fag and live?

also, as a new player, am i better off going with a flying army, a swarmy ground army, or a nidzilla army for 750-1000 point games. I'm just getting into this and plan on playing pretty casually with a few friends. Currently planning on running a flyrant with a shit load of gargoyles and a few warriors but i want to invest in a harpy/crone or two and some malenthropes.
