What's your favorite monster?

When asking about build advice, remember to be sure to mention whether or not third party material (3pp) is allowed!

You can TWF with Pistol Dagger shooting on your otherhand.

>What's your favorite monster?
Same as every time it's asked.

Savage Technologist
1) PBS,Precise shot
3) Rapid Shot
5) Deadly Aim
7) Cluster shot

Shadowshooting. No need to gimp yourself with multiclass and extra feat tax.

Read Savage Technologist again.

> At 2nd level, when a raging savage technologist wields a one-handed firearm in one hand and a light or one-handed melee weapon in the other, she can make ranged attacks with the firearm without provoking attacks of opportunity.

You don't have to attack with the other hand. You just need to wield it. You can even just wear spiked gauntlet on your offhand and forget about having it.

Small reminder-that-is-arguably-shilling-depending-on-some-salty-anons that the PoW:E pdf updated with bookmarks so if you bought it before you can download the new version now.

> Augunas gets on Facebook to brag about this low Wisdom hunter he's about to pay.
> MFW there is no face to describe how sick I am of this shit.

Fucking WHY? Who the fuck in Paizo's office is passing around the hypnosis porn while jacking the writers off? The fuck is their obsession with making shit characters and then bragging about it?

If Augunas comes back from this bitching that hunter is shit the way he bitched about bard after making a retarded gimped multiclass build, I'm gonna mail him a metric ton of Swiper plushies with instructions on how to make them into fuck dolls, I swear to God.

Shadowshooting seems terrible though? Enemy makes a will save or takes minimal damage? How is that remotely a good thing?

I just don't see this being playable. I'm not starting at level 7, I'm starting at level 1.

Gunslinger 1
Warpriest 2
Savage Tech 5
Warpriest X

I don't get dex to damage here until level 8, that's terrible. Maybe I could just do a 2 level dip into Savage Tech, but I'm still going to want to pick up Snap shot/Improved Snap Shot later for the threatening, plus without the bonus feats I'm extra starved.

Savage Tech just doesn't offer enough.

Update: he got hit by a Will spell and is bitching that he failed his save.

I have no idea who this idiot is, but as Hunter is my favorite class, I want to slap him.

so does shadowshooting still allow multiple hits and the static damage on a failed save? is it just the die that's minimized? what happens if you crit but they fail the save?

So /pfg/, let's say you somehow gained access to a gigantic source of Positive Energy. Is there a way to use that offensively, such as charging a weapon/absorbing it into a weapon?

It's just the weapon die that gets minimized, so something like Flaming wouldn't get minimized afaik.

He's the furry fuckboy that does Kitsune in every single fucking supplement. He's also co-writing a psionics to psychic magic conversion with Owen Stephens while both pretend it's not a potshot at DSP.

TL;DR furry traitor retard.

does it interact with misfire chance at all?

Probably not.

What's a good stealth/sneak attack build that doesn't include Rogue? Not necessarily using the literal sneak attack feature, if that's not possible, and preferably something with magic.

I assume they fall for the storm-wind fallacy, HARD.

Hey, I'm the user that helped you earlier.

I'd modify your build as follows:
1 Gunslinger 1 - PBS, Precise Shot
2 Warpriest 1
3 Fighter 1 - Weapon Finesse, Greater Weapon Finesse
4 Warpriest 2
5 Warpriest 3 - Rapid Shot, Deadly Aim
6 Warpriest 4
7 Warpriest 5 - Rapid Reload
8 Warpriest 6 - Clustered Shots

Dex to Damage is more important than anything else. This build grabs it ASAP, and maximizes your Warpriest levels. You get Clustered Shots 1 level later, but overall this build is wayyyy stronger

GUNSLINGER user LOOKING FOR AMMO-FREE OPTIONS, I don't know why last thread was so terrible to you.

The two free ammunition DSP options are the Hashasheen Gunslinger (Akashic Mysteries) and the Gunsmoke Mystic (Path of War: Expanded). The Gunsmoke Mystic is probably the strongest firearms class in the game by a fair margin; the Hashasheen Gunslinger is just a better gunslinger, but if you're using veilweaving in the first place you might as well be a Hand Cannon vizier or something.

The Spheres Armorist (which isn't actually good) and Warsoul's Discipline Weapon Shapes are also immune to ammunition.

Hand Cannons are actually pretty subpar; they can do okay, absolutely, but if you put that much "build" into a veilweaver (it won't even be +5 until Vizier 18 or so, and that's with a +3 item!) you'd get way more power out of just using those same veils and essence to buff a regular weapon.

I preferred picking up Fervor and Deadly Aim both at level 3, but getting dex to damage is probably more important.

Stalker? There's very few classes that actually get sneak attack, so you're kind of limited in your options there.

It's better to delay Fervor by a level, than Dex to Damage by 2 levels.

Besides, adding Dex is gonna deal more damage than Deadly Aim will, and it doesn't penalize your rolls.

Hmm, fair enough. Maybe a stealthy caster, then? Is Spellthief any good?

Don't mind me.

Just posting some spells.

Maybe save the pictures if you see something you like.

Side note: I like that guy's costume.

All I needed to do.

So the Guide to Races is outdated.

What's the thoughts on the Dwarf's Siege Survivor trait?

Siege Survivor: Dwarves who make their homes in the Sky Citadels are trained to outlast sieges and serve as vigilant guards. They gain Endurance as a bonus feat. In addition, during rounds in which they have not moved, they gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against foes who also did not move since their last turn. This racial trait replaces greed, hardy, and hatred.

is double readied action legal

No. you can only ready a single action unless you have an ability that allows you to make multiple readies actions.

YEAH boy overwatch style

Does anyone have a screenshot of the Unhindered Shield Feat?

Can you ready readying an action?

No.

its expensive but there is the Pistol of the Infinite Sky, doesn't require ammo or reloading. Just a matter of having a functioning build before you can afford it.

OW Style would be great if there were actual combos for using the projectiles to meaningfully lock down people.

Baleful shadow beguiler

You do realize gunslinger gets dex to damage at level 5 correct?

>create pit
>now it moves
oh god

>level 1 spell to hide a spellbook in the ethereal plane
that's great for hiding a backup book

sasuga paizuri

Guns Everywhere makes Gunslinger get it at level 1, but they give up Gunsmithing.

Guns everywhere is a campaign setting not a class setting.

>Guns Everywhere: Guns are commonplace. Early firearms are seen as antiques, and advanced firearms are widespread. Firearms are simple weapons, and early firearms, advanced guns, and their ammunition are bought or crafted for 10% of the cost listed in this chapter. The Gunslinger loses the gunsmith class feature and instead gains the gun training class feature at 1st level.

Uh huh.

Mhm, and it sucks.

Getting Dex to Damage sooner is better.

I mean, that's dependent on the campaign, they're not wrong.

Eh, hardy is a damn good trait, imo more than worth compared to Endurance. I guess it is okay if you want Endurance as a prerequisite for other stuff, but overall... meh.

Okay you roll upto a game with your guns everywhere archtype built gunslinger and see how that goes.
It depends on why are you even taking one level of gunslinger?
There are other ways to get the prof, and not a whole lot gunslinger gives you, even the 90% cost reduction on ammo doesn't really seem worth it when you can feat into it.

Is a blood hag too challenging for a party of 6 level 3 characters?

I'm running a kingdom building game with a twist - the setting is a major city in a rival country that has collapsed due to a surge of negative energy killing most of the population and tainting the land with undead. The PCs are heroes who are friends of an NPC prince who seeks to carve a new city in the ruins, and the main antagonist is a lich doing the same at the other end of the city with his loyal band.

I know it's cliche, but I want to make a mirror evil party, and I need ideas.
Big good prince is obviously opposed by the lich.
Our shaman is seeking to integrate society and nature together in this new city, so I'm not sure how to oppose him without going Captain Planet.
The tinker dwarf is opposed by a friendly artificer golemmancer who I hope will earn her sympathy and pity, so it'll suck when he has to die.
Paladin of the God of secrets is opposed by cowardly blackguard who will be an early reoccurring villain (I want a guy who just doesn't die, to fuel his anger)
I have no clue what villain to give the severist (a 3rd party class, anime hero who cuts magic apart) or the dual shield fighter.

Yes.

What would be an appropriate replacement? Looking for some kind of "evil crone", and I don't know how encounter balance or making NPCs works.

what would a good feat for the Promethean alchemist's homunculus companion to take? I am planning on using him for mostly a stealthy support companion. However he is very limited in skill points and has relatively poor stats so I don't know how good a replacement rogue he would make. suggestions for other builds welcome. (all 3pp allowed within reason)

Gunslinger gets me proficiency, a free gun, Gunsmithing, and Quick Clear.

I can't see any other class competing with that.

Also keep in mind this is primarily a Warpriest a build. So ideally the more Warpriest levels I have, the better.

How about a level 4-5 witch with some minions?

Try an ash, sand, sea or flue hag(s).

You can get Eldritch Archer Magus for prof, Quick Clear is not that important, And Gunsmithing is a feat you can take at level 1, and then with a second level dip you can get off one additional attack when you full round attack.

>eldritch archer magus gets gun proficiency
shit, does it really?

Where does Eldritch Archer give firearm proficiency? I'm not seeing it.

If I'm starting with a Revolver, then yea, Quick Clear is less important, that is true. Gunsmithing seems like a bigger deal though, and that's gonna push the whole feat train down later than I want.

Well... technically by RAW? No. But it can get an advanced or even modern or tech weapon for free because of the way Arcane Bond works.

The part where you get a bound item as per wizard
That gives you prof with it.

In settings with Guns Commonplace or Guns Everywhere, firearms can either be Martial or Simple respectively, so a Magus would have proficiency. And..

Well now that's just silly. Damn casters getting good guns right out the gate.

Arcane Bond gets you a gun for free, but it doesn't give proficiency

I'm not seeing where it gives proficiency in the Arcane Bond section in Wizard either.

Update: 12 Wisdom on a Wisdom caster. Literally the Wisdom version of SKRs playtest wizard from 3.0

Does it have updated text for certain things, or is it just the bookbark?

Any Path of War class with that one Solar Wind stance can ignore ammo... it does lock you in, unfortunately.

Sadly this is an Emerging Guns setting, so Magus is sadly out. Definitely had potential with the arcane bond bonuses.

Well, you could just take the Heirloom Weapon Trait and get proficiency with your bond through that.

Already hurting pretty badly with traits, since I've got a mandatory campaign trait, fate's favored, magical knack, and a drawback to fit all that in.

What should a campaign where all PCs are black blade users be about?

An enemy within their order is a classic.

Okay, I got some further feedback on Spherelock last thread, and it makes me super happy.

Okay so.

>Not a truly enchantable weapon
There is the Destructive Focus weapon quality in the Destruction Handbook. At the start of your turn, you can choose if its enhancement bonus applies to the weapon, or your destructive blasts, like how Guardian and Defending work.

>Most require a spell point or make it elemental
This is true, although most make things elemental as opposed to needing a spell point. I think the only Type that needs a spell point in the base book is Force, and then there's like, Disintegrate and Radiation Blast in the handbook...

There is Stone Blast, which entirely skips past SR, and Crafted Blast to bump up your damage when you don't need or want an element/rider and don't need to tangle with SR. There also exists the Intensifying Gloves, which reduce a given energy resistance by 5, or 10 for the greater version.

>Saves on a Mid-Caster
The Focused Blast Type Group feat gives you +5 CL (Not to exceed HD) with one blast type group, effectively making you a fullcaster for that type. And while it and staves won't bump the damage, they still bump save DCs

As-is, I'm not 100% happy with Elemental Focus. Trying to think of something nice to give it instead of just the extra talent, since that's a little boring.

Did I miss anything?

Alright, so I'm thinking of having the players face off against a hag coven in three separate encounters (there will be healing items looted along the way).

The first would be four shrine-blessed skellies benefiting from desecration, two burning skellies, and a flue hag.

The second would be an ash hag, a medium fire elemental, a human cultist (NPC), and two savage mercenary (NPCs).

The final encounter would be an annis hag, an ogrekin, and a dhampir.

Is this reasonable for a party of 6-7 level 3 characters?

What kind of loot would you expect to get for clearing this? I'm thinking some neat slotless magical items, a couple of wands, and a +1 weapon of some kind (maybe with a special quality on top of the enhancement bonus) at the end.

It has some corrected text, but no huge changes.

It needs a piece of toast in its mouth

As a general rule do not listen to the advice of anyone who looks like a crow or a raven pretending to be a human.

>Quick Clear is not that important

U fkin wot m69?

Quick Clear is insanely important for Gunslingers. If you misfire once your gun is broken and misfire rating increases by 4. Misfire again, and your gun is useless until you spend hour(s) fixing it.

Only druids and rangers bother with knowledge (nature) though, and as a rule kings disregard the words of rangers and druids.

Spells get around it lickity split.

I assumed this was meant in reference to the fact I'd be using a revolver, which advanced firearms like that when broken, can't actually explode or permanently break, they just remain stuck at the broken condition with -2/-2.

Mending still takes 10 minutes to cast. If you break in combat you're fucked.

There aren't spells which let you ignore misfires....

Jury-rig in combat, mending outside

Technically if you miss your fireball you could cause destruction to the surrounding area, which is like a misfire.

>jury-rig

Explain?

Google is failing me. Could I get a link to Beguiler? I'm not familiar with how it works.

Jury rig is a standard action 1st level spell that removes the broken condition for rounds/level. The object can still be damages, but since misfires dont do damage there's nothing to worry about.

Yo where the fuck is that bear trap spell thing?

What happens with you cast Light / Darkness / any other object-targeted radius spell on a long object (or an object that can be make long), such as a rope?

Depends on the makeup. The last bit may be quite tricky as the annis is CR 6, so she may be a handful for anyone she focuses. What levels do the ogrekin and dhampir have?

I would say it should be doable with decent PCs, but I can see some casualties.

Do you think D&D 5 was harmful to Paizos finances?

Wouldn't any ttrpg that gains ground be harmful to other ttrpgs?

I have not read any report, but I would expect so.4E was probably the best thing to happen to Paizo.

4e came out before Pathfinder. It was the catalyst for it.

Ironic as it is the better system.

From Mithral Current description:
> A weapon is considered sheathed if it is in a non-threatening position, such as a monk putting their hands at their sides or in their pockets

Does it still cost a fucking move action to put your hands at your sides?

How do I charge without provoking AoO's?

Don't pass through threatened squares when you charge.

Even if the enemy has 40ft reach?
