CorpseBloom is a fungal species that appears in some unclaimed areas of Soi and most notably Haunted forests of Kushan. The fungus infects humans that either inhale enough spores or get the spores directly into their bloodstream. It begins growing throughout the body as it is still alive, and reprograms the brain to become obsessed with spreading more fungal growth to other species, eventually causing the human to become feral and extraordinarily violent. immortalpedia.wikia.com/wiki/CorpseBloom
>"We are the fire, we are life, and like a great fire we will grow and spread across the world that was meant for us no matter what obstacle blocks our path" -Goran Godspeaker The Goran are a collection of Ab human races on the surface of Soi that make up the Goran Nation. They are most commonly characterized by a fair complexion and red hair but have large range of breeds of mankind. The Goran are made up of various genetically engineered castes that each fulfill a unique position within their civilization as dictated by the Fire God . They are the most populous group of ab humans on Soi
>"No one gathers power for innocent reasons. No one ever wishes to be unopposed in order to be benevolent. There will always be opposition for those seeking to gain complete control; I will ensure it" -14th Councilmember The 14th Councilmember is the Immortal most commonly associated with the creation of the Ashed ab human race and founding the Ashed Confederacy.
The 14th Councilmember is named such due to the structure of the Ashed government being that every city is governed by a council of 12 business leaders, a citizen picked by lottery, and a seat of power for the Immortal should it choose to attend. The 14th chair is often left unoccupied.
Little is known of this Immortal as it has become a recluse from the world since the end of the Great War where it received its label "The Betrayer" by the Kushanese and Friendly nations by withdrawing its forces as victory over the expansionist empires seemed imminent. Historical records indicate its reasons for preventing victory of its allies were to "keep the world interesting". As a result, global peace remains elusive.
The Ashed government's official policy is that the 14th chair is reserved for this being and that it has veto power over law with the exception of unanimous vote.
The 14th is considered a historical figure by the Ashed in terms of founding the confederacy of city states. Historically speaking, Ashed texts do not acknowledge the immortality of this creature.

>"The land of Sumera has a harsh beauty to it mirrored by its people, and a kind of passive hostility that will kill you not out of any malice or intent, but simply because you were not strong enough to survive. If you do survive, you will have earned the respect of both" (Unclaimed explorer journal) Sumera is a prominent mortal nation in Midland Soi east of the Ashed Confederacy known for its vast
mountain ranges and volcanic activity. The people that live in these areas live in small clan structured societies and are known for being isolationist and hostile towards outsiders. Despite this, outside forces have been attempting to invade and conquer Sumera on and off since the first age.
The people of this land occasionally produce a material referred to as "Sumeran steel" which is stated to have incredible properties of durability and flexibility. The exact composition is unknown to outsiders.
"The code and law are nothing more than chains. My only crime is rid myself of these burdens and to truly live free. So swing, slave of the truest tyrant, I have already won" (Last words of Knight of the Ram before being beheaded) Honorless riders are rogue members of the Armored Rider warrior class of Broken Kingdom nobility. They forsake their vows and often leave the lands of their birth in order to escape the King's justice.
It is not uncommon for dishonored riders of the Broken Kingdom that defect become rather successful bandits, often amassing small armies to their side and taking control of regions or roadways.
These rogues often defect due to having very few prospects for advancement outside of blind luck or impossible to reach standards of skill and strength.
Rogue Riders are know to turn mercenary for less than reputable forces Some of these warriors will resort to any underhanded tactic to gain an advantage

>"The Global Merchants would have you believe that the Woag are nothing more than barbaric savages, and at first glance they seem to be correct. Look closer and you find they are much more than that. Woag are skilled traders, shipwrights, and warrior poets. The savagery and barbarism comes from what they need to do to carve out an existence in such an unforgiving land." -Description of the Woag, "Traveler's guide to Soi" The Woag or northern wolf people, are a collection of tribal humans that populate the northern islands of Soi.
Living among the treacherous glacial floes, they are renowned for having some of the greatest sailors and ships the world has to offer, and have a long tradition of whaling, fishing, and piracy. Despite their large landmass, the Woag have one of the smallest, sparsest populations of all the Immortal peoples.
Their genetic manipulation has led them to be classified as ab humans, identifiable by their snow white complexion, and naturally sharp ears and canines. They have an immense natural resistance to cold temperatures.

>"Once, life was wild, untamed, and without purpose. What we have done here is to fix that." -Journal entry recovered at abandoned temple A bio temple is a structure created by the Immortals for the shaping of life and creation of biomorphs via selective breeding over long periods of time. They are stated to be some of the oldest structures by the great Immortal civilizations.
Many were either destroyed or abandoned during the Great Immortal War, their biomorphs escaped or destroyed.
Bio temples are often found in the middle of or near haunted forests.

"I am flame, cleansing heat. I am the smith, shaping and molding. I am the light, pure and true. The void corrupts all things that are not myself. All that is corrupted is the Void. The Void makes all that are corrupted its minions. All land, all water, all sky, all hearts, and all minds that do not serve me are minions to darkness, corruption, and the Void. >The Ebony Island or simply Ebony is a large landmass off the north coast of the Ashed. It is not clear if the name comes from the sand, which is dark in coloration from the island's volcanic origins, or if it refers to the dark skin of the people there. I'm just saying, it seems to just be one guy shouting blurbs from his setting into the void. It's also kind of a weird hodgepodge
Ah, that explains it. It's okay, but most of the fun of wb threads is working with other people to make something. In general, people don't really give a shit about other people's creative endeavors on Veeky Forums

>"While we primary humans come in all shapes, sizes and colors, some folk have distinctly different traits of body. Their unique bloodlines make them their own category dubbed ab humans" -The Traveler's Guide to Soi Ab humans, or abnormal humans, are subspecies of humans that deviate from the normal homo sapien breed, either due to natural subspeciation of genetically-isolated populations or artificial selective breeding by Immortals. In the second case, they are a subcategory of biomorphs (genetically modified creatures), but are not usually called this due to their human origin.
According to the oldest lore, the Immortals claim humans avoided a great catastrophe under their guidance that would have killed off all but a handful of human strains.

How many states on your world map is too much?
Hyboria is around 34-35 if I am counting it right for any named nations excluding some like the Kozaki.
Westeros is around 9 regions/'nations' (wilds included), Essos is a complicated fucking mess to figure out even directionally so fuck that.
Middle earth is pretty small on it.
Too lazy to count 1000 AD Europe/West Asia/North Africa but I'd think it'd be in the high teens, low 20s, maybe closer to 30.

i think you should have more mortal nations or at least better address what non-immortal nation people are doing. they're not running around in loincloths hunting with spears i hope there has to be one major non-immortal nation thats a thorn in the side of others but maybe not too big like north korea led by a mortal dynasty but they tell the people underneath that the leader has always been there and it has underdeveloped technology because the leader works the people to death

Alright then. I'll throw my hat in.
>Quaesitiro, The Eternal Errant >An immortal warrior and seeker of knowledge, Quaesitiro has never been one for rulership. Instead, he wanders the lands of Soi under a number of aliases, serving as a trusy sellsword or skilled if scatterbrained mentor to those he feels worthy of his tutelage. However, his time with any given pupil is short, for Quaesitiro suffers from an unusual ailment: A fragment of enchanted blade, lodged and writhing in his skull. >The sword shard is a memento of a long ago duel with a fellow Immortal, and sits uneasily in the Knight's head. It sits quiet for long stretches, but when roused it digs razored roots into the grey matter of the Errant, sending him into convulsions, followed by a violent fugue state. When he comes to, his mind is foggy and his memories scrambled.Often awakening amidst ruins or in the wilderness, Quaesitiro inevitably sets out to seek company and piece together his fragmented thoughts. >His only guide and constant companion is a peculiar, owl like being known as the Strix. It claims to house some portion of his memory and mind, and often is the force that leads him wherever he may go. Considering his destructive tendencies when the shard activates, this makes the Strix's intentions dubious at best.

Would it be too much to ask to keep the Strix as a semi-supernatural creature? I mean, it's basically the only magical trait the Errant has other than his immortality ,and I don't think "weird, mnemonic owl creature" is too out of line with low fantasy.
Chase Walker
Thread appears to be dying. I'll make another one in a day or so
As for the Strix. I like the Don Quixote vibe going on. The setting is supposed to be little to no magic aside from the Immortality of a handful of the worlds inhabitants. Its been suggested by some people to add more magic to the setting, if that happens we will.
