I SHALL NEVER FAIL TO FORTIFY THESE THREADS!

Well you didn't fortify the last one.

Kill me, please.

I have failed to fortify that thread, when I have sucessfully fortified all the past ones.

I must now go on a penitent crusade against the enemies of Man.

Ultramarines still suck Emperor's Children dick!

>Imperials yet again receive bullshit formations
I WANT 3.5 BACK, FUCK BALANCE AND FUCK THE IMPERIAL PRIVILEGE.

Here's the bingo for today. Today's free tile is still "People getting the rules wrong", because Games Workshop itself is getting the rules wrong, and that's completely unforgivable.

>mfw people always whine about Imperium but my army is desperate allies with them
>mfw people always hate marines for getting new releases and cheesy rules but my army doesn't use any of them

And the worst part is when FW finally has a chance to give new stuff for my army they instead choose Minotaurs and Red Scorpions. Again. After they already got tons more stuff.

Man, I'm with you brother.

Charcarodons are cool enough that they should get more time in the spotlight.

But the FW chapter that really needs an update is the Red Hunters. One of their chapter tactics rules doesn't work anymore because now all IoM armies are all Battle Brothers, and they still can't take any named character with an allied detachment.

Are any of the start collecting formations actually useful? The scion one is nice, but there are only 2 squads of the guys and when the comics are dies the reinforcements stop. They are all super low model count so in a bigger game it shouldn't mtater too much if you can just glass the one HQ that gives the buff

The Necrons one is amazing. The marine one can do things like give extra D cannon shots from fortifications.

Should be one or two other good ones but I'm not familiar with every single one.

The chaos one is complete garbage but all the others are pretty OK

The Necron one is ridiculous, what with it letting you resurrect your Warriors and Scarabs. The IG one is nice, it gives the Infantry a 4+ cover save within 12" of the LR. The Eldar one will no doubt be overpowered.

Don't forget that daemons don't get any formations in their start collecting boxes.

Hey at least they aren't the ork formation.

The Eldar one literally doesn't matter. It comes with half a dozen scatterbikes. Even if the formation bonus was "minus one strength on shooting attacks" it would still be OP.

Do not worry, brother. We shall maintain the defenses in your absence.

and we'll re-unite as a legion later

They get age of sigmar formations
You sure about that?

>wrathborn
Jesus Christo above why?

>Of course it's limited to the Formation.
This is why god created dumpsters. It could have been relatively useful without that limitation, but as it is, the shitbrute is too much of a burden to even consider it
>generic terminator lord instead of the unique new captain SM got
It's because the Terminator Lord is the only plastic marine HQ kit CSM has

Fuck man, atleast you have a model for your special character. No love for the Star Phantoms.

Go fuck yourself, we don't need a second Eldar faction.

>shitbrute
Here's a proper Chaos box.

>Are any of the start collecting formations actually useful?
Space Yiffs formation gives its wolf riders a 30" charge IIRC

>Deathwatch Codex rumors
>it's another shitty minidex

Fuck's sake GW you could have made them at least GK tier in terms of how much shit they have

>30" charge
By this I mean 12" movement, d6" run and 2d6 charge. A first turn assault if dice favor you

Breaking news! Codex Chaos Eldar confirmed!

i'm laughing because croneworld eldar would probably help boost chaos

We have 3 Eldar factions...

Busty Rough Riders?

>They get age of sigmar formations
Why would that matter? I'm not playing age of sigmar.

>Corsairs / Harleys
>counting

One's forge world, the other's a fucking shitty ass ally minidex.

...

Sorry forgot about Harlequins, 4 eldar factions

It's an old meme, short for: Busty Centaur Abhuman Rough Riders

The meme kind of died when someone actually went out and actually started making an army of them.

>forgot about Harlequins
exactly

What I'm laughing about is how the Chaos Predator looks in Beil-Tan colors. It looks pretty decent.
>croneworld eldar would probably help boost chaos
>implying they wouldn't boost Eldar instead and hurt Chaos more
Use your head, user. Don't be stupid like this.
The Emprah!

No.

>Died
I feel like it became revived because of it.

>Implying you would choose anyone other than the Emperor.

What threads haven't you fortified?

6/10 not busty enough.

You'll get it once the SoBs get their update. And not just some meh copy and paste job, I mean a real update like how the DEldar got their 5E dex.

But the Emperor is a corpse...

Judging by how poor DE sales are right now GW isn't going to waste time investing in SoB complete plastic revamp.

DE sold well when they got revamped in 5E then just plummeted to one of the least purchased armies.

It's a love that transcends mere corpses. Have the original Emps vs Horus picture.
So is the DEldar sales a metaphor for lonely nights for Vect without viagara?

Playing BC and my CSM/SM (it's complicated) pissed off a Great Unclean One a while back.
Well, it's come back and it wants a rematch. Presumably in its GUO form. To kill my character dead.

Now, it's agreed to not use any sorcery in our duel. So we have that.
And I've devised a plan:
Get an impact weapon. And a Power Weapon.
Get said impact weapon blessed (we can do this easily).
Use Power Weapon to smash his sword. (so he can only do 1d10-4/1d10-6 unarmed attacks)
Wreck his kneecaps until his agility falls to 0.
Laugh. Then finish him.

Unfortunately, the plan relies on us getting lucky with our Zealous Hatred.
But, still, my CSM/SM can boost his Agility (and therefor dodge) up to 75 using drugs, so we're good.

But I'd like to know if any of you have any suggestions or have spotted any glaring issues. Aside from agreeing to fight a GUO in melee combat while relying on luck.
Oh, he DID promise a big reward if we defeated him. But it's pretty much a guaranteed trap.

So, help?

...

Thanks, and sorry.

>implying Vect needs viagra
>implying DE don't get viagra and other combat drugs pumped into them 24/7

Lelith doesn't use drugs. Come to think of it just how much of a DEldar's bodily fluids drugs instead of natural space elf juice?

why do people still post the one for ants

>Horus was a Primarchlet confirmed.

Why is there a Space Marine hiding behind the stairs?

Are nukes and fighting under a nuked environment common in 40?

Cowards die in shame.

Bob, he has issues.

No.
Even in 40k they know radiation weapons are fucking idiotic.

Tell me about your dreadnoughts.
What is their armament?
Do they win back their points?

Horus decided to spruce the place up with dead marines. And that foreshadowed pic related.
Krieg is irradiated.

I'll take what are rad grenades for $500 pre-Heresy Death Guard bucks, Alex.
Gramps, your bathrobe isn't going to help you fight.

You really think that Scion formation is good? A squad of Stormtroopers gets wiped, it reappears in reserves. I dont see that turning the meta on its head.

I have several dreadnoughts.
They'll win back their points if they don't get blown up immediately, but assault dreads are probably more useful than shooty dreads

>Tripfaggotry
>Still not using Forced Anonymous

There were rules for hazardous environments and I believe a fallout zone was mentioned there, there was the destruction of the fortress monastery of the crimson fists battle that had the turn were the nuke hit literally everything on the field with a s10 ap1 ignores cover attack.

Next I'm getting a Leviathan.
The moment they came out one of the guys at my FLGS got three.

>pathetic looking Sanguinius
This image displeases me.

My best dreadnought is a deredeo named Ancient Valentine. His current loadout is 255 points
> Aiolos Missiles
> Anvilus Cannons
> Heavy Bolter
> Armoured Ceramite
> "War on Murder" legacy of glory

He averages 350 points of kills a game, while his all-time record is over 1500 points worth of tank kills. He literally went 6 whole turns straight of, "Hull-point strip a Leman Russ, Hull-point strip a chimera" until he had killed 5 leman ruses, 6 chimeras, and my opponent's entire command squad. It was a 3000 point game against a parking lot of guard tanks.

I can also quite thoroughly recommend War on Murder as an auto-take upgrade for deredeos. The addition of Monster Hunter means he can kill a Flyrant or a (Non-Nurgle) Daemon Prince every single turn of shooting.

I don't own any leviathans, but my current plans are to buy 2 more Deredeos, 3 Leviathans, 6 Contemptors, and 12 more castraferums.

Due to not understanding the rules and not knowing S maxes at 10, he made me proud. I can't wait until my next game where I can use him more effectively.

Horus did throttle the life out of him, so who knows if he sucked the life out of him too.

That's not Sanguinius, either

I'd choose berzerker because immortality

It sucks to know the primarch of my favored legion was more or less tortured and played with. 2nd to only Horus himself in terms of primarchs but.. dammit, getting whupped so hard that his entire gene-seed was corrupted displeases me greatly. Still my favorite though.

I found Raptors user, here he is.
Pay attention to how he mentions his deredeo by name.

People, even heroes, don't look regal and dignified after having the life choked out of them. It's part of why I like that image so much. It's very earnest, compared to the heavily romanticized one that came later.

No single heroic tear rolling down sanguinius' perfect face. No golden giant emperor with immaculate hair and flaming sword of striking. Horus looks like a bridge troll. There's corpses all over the place. People aren't lined up to give their best sides for the shot at the cost of the image's perspective.

B-but deepstriking Tauroxes

Only the squad recycles. Not the taurox, not the command squad.

The wording is quite specific.

I like reading strategy. I like Space Marines (especially Ultramarines).

Is there some sort of a blog or a really nice set of forum posts where I can read about marines strategy?

A squad of tempestus scions can purchase a taurox as a dedicated transport, as can a command squad, meaning that a formation could meet the requirements yet still contain 3 tauroxes, one of which can deepstrike since it is recycled along with the unit of scions that bought it as a transport when they and it die.

>A squad of tempestus scions can purchase a taurox as a dedicated transport
regardless, only the squad itself will recycle

Taurox does not have deep strike.

>have the guard do an extensive campaign
>wait months while the guard find out who's in charge
>drop pod onto enemy hq or heavy support or monsters
>nuke them with grav
>get into assault and smack up their troops
>leave while the guard clean up the mess
>claim glory and honor, give high fives
>make a footnote about the 10,000 guardsmen that died attempting to help

But the transport counts as a part of the unit for all intents and purposes as per the BRB section on dedicated transports.

As for the Taurox itself not having deepstrike, that's true. I guess that means it gets placed into deepstrike reserve but can't be deployed from there.

What font is the quote?

Anybody here going to Origins?

A squad gets placed into reserve, it doesnt say anything about dedicated transports. The exact wording is '..in terms of number of models, weapons, and upgrades.' No mention of dedicated transports.

High Gothic

Either Techie or Commissar.

And now we enter into the time-honored debate as to whether dedicated transports are purchased as a unit upgrade or not.

I posit that they are :^)

Quick! Someone ask on the FAQ about this!
This way the Scions will have more than 1 question that isn't actually stupid.

>counts as a part of the unit for all intents and purposes
but they don't

first blood, nigga.

I mean if you want to play it the wrong way we can do that, but only if you keep those transports in coherency with their parent unit.

so, any bets on what the eldar or dark eldar boxes will get as their bonus?

Ya got me, 4779763.

If I defended myself by saying I was only joking, would the response be the 'pretending to be retarded' meme? Even so, it's a funny idea, takes me back to the 5th edition days of deepstriking Land Raiders.

Possibly.

I'll pull up my BRB, but I'm pretty sure the rule you're thinking of is the one that makes dedicated transports take on the force org slot of their unit, rather than the ones they have when taken separately.

Yeah, that was the one, I checked it after the first round of (You)s

True enough, death is rarely pretty or glorious. I guess I just prefer the romanticized version more.

Just a reminder that you can't Deep Strike things unless they have the Deep Strike rule or the special rule that puts them in Deep Strike Reserve allows you to forcefully Deep Strike them without the rule.

Proof? The Deathwing formation was updated/errata'd/clarified to not allow Land Raiders. People said "Terminators can take Land Raiders and the formation says everything in it can Deep Strike!" but it's obvious that Land Raiders can't Deep Strike, therefore the official word was eventually revealed to be that, no, morons, you can't take Deathwing Land Raiders if you are going to take the Deep Strike formation.

Yeah, I'd pass that kind of quirky rule error off as nothing, but I've seen people argue till they're blue in the face for more blatantly wrong shit over the years. Much better to nip it in the bud before I come across some guy saying he saw it on 1d4chan and based his entire army around the concept.

Oh god, that'd be so funny though.

Does anyone have a guide for basing that would work for Medrengard? I'm thinking smooth stone with some soot on it is what I'm looking for based on what I remember from the novels.

I used to think deep striking Land Raiders were cool. There was a guy in my group for a while that did it a lot. He had a badass list with Mephiston, Death Company in jump packs, and Plasma Cannon Devs. iirc he sometimes dropped stuff from a Stormraven.

I'd probably go with sector imperialis bases, just with the imperial logos removed.

Medrengard's a factory/fortress world, right?

When did the renegade knights go up in price? It is very disappointing...
