OC Thread #14

Welcome to the Veeky Forums OC thread.
Previous Thread: 47755607
Tell us about your original characters, new and old. Let's hear some stories of valor and glory and build some legends in here.

>THIS THREAD IS PRIMARILY FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND SHOWING OFF YOUR FAVORITES FROM YOUR GAMES
It's like the Storythread, but centered on characters that we all know and help make. Your Original Character can be any character you've played, are playing, or want to play!

>WHEN POSTING YOUR OC
Give us a little blurb about your character, this is a brag thread after all. Some basic questions to get you started:

>WHAT'S YOUR OCs MARY SUE SCORE?
springhole.net/writing/marysue.htm

Write and share stories about each others' characters (use a pastebin for works that would take up multiple posts). Draw and share pictures of each others' characters (please link offsite in the event of NSFW work).

Ask questions about other anons characters and get to know their stories, and tell us all about your own.

Need help developing a new character concept? Ask away! Answering the periodically posted Development Questions can often help, so look for those.

This thread is intended to be all in good spirit, so please remember to be excellent to each other, and try to contribute in some way. If you can't draw, write something for someone and vice versa.

>IF YOU JUST NEED CHARACTER ART, GO TO THE DRAW THREAD
There are more artists consistently there that are actively looking for requests to fill, that's not the case here.

>DON'T MAKE A NEW THREAD UNTIL PAGE 10
Use new art from these threads as OP image when possible.

>How often does your character party?
A whole lot, actually. Not as much as he used to, but a lot.

Name:
Kaiger Stancaster
>• Role(s):
Barbarian, keeps the party in line and hits things really hard, and Lord of the Orcish Clans
>• Goals:
Prove to his clan and human family he isn't worthless, find something that he can beat his sister in and become a hero in a bard story
>• Traits:
He's short tempered,gung-ho and egotistical but he tries to maintain some sense of honor. Also major mama's boy
>• Flaws:
He's gullible if there's a chance of battle/murder he's usually all for it. His short temper has lead to him brutalizing party members.
>• Allies:
The Dragon Bard; Marijuano Blaze, the Dank Elf of Prophecy; the Bonecrusher Clan; and a dwarven city state
>• Enemies:
Cult of Talona, Demorgorgon,Pelor,Pelor's angels and a handful of a human nobles
>• Other Relations:
Agatha, his twin sister who succeeds at everything she tries and Ganar his older flamboyant brother
>• Physical Description:
Kaiger stands at 5'11 with an athletic build. He has short black hair and green eyes with a manly stubble. He wears red dragon scale armor, dragon horn bracers and a black wolf pelt(all of these things he's killed or had a hand in killing). The wolf pelt looks worn and torn. His weapon of choice is a bastard sword of his own creation Moon's Terror, he smelted down a Death Knight's long sword and a deceased party member's bastard sword El Chakal. The blade's hilt is black with the pommel of a crescent moon and the in the center of the cross guard a side profile of a wolf howling with a red gem for an eye
>Development Question: How often does your character party?
He drinks a fair amount but never really 'parties'. I think he went carrousing one time and he blacked out. The next he found himself in an alleyway and the town gave him the nickname 'Kaiger the Kegger'.

What did he do to piss off a neutral good God of healing?

So his weapon is Moon's Terror a combination of a Death Knight sword and El Chakal. It turned out that El Chakal was a holy relic of Pelor and the party bumped into one of Pelor's angels and demanded that Kaiger handed it over so that they can purify it. He essentially told them the fuck off but the party managed to convince the angel not to murder the fuck out of him.

What's El Chakal?

It's a longsword that the party member,Clethentit McCheeks, found and named it in a middle of a dungeon. El Chakal had the magical ability to fire a beam of radiant light once per day and everytime Clethentit used it, it missed. The first time it blew up part of the moon and the party has yet to see the extent of the moon's damage because we've yet to see a full moon(despite being months since it happened). Clethentit eventually offed himself because a party member stole El Chakal from him. Kaiger took El Chakal from the party member and threatened to kill him if he pulled that shit again because it was dishonorable and he tolerated Clethentit a bit more than this character.

Sorry if I'm rambling.

McCheeks killed himself because he was robbed?

Clethentit McCheeks killed himself because he was robbed yes. Clethentit McCheeks is also a 13 year old in the body of a 30 year old so he was never the brightest around.

Welp. That must have been bound to happen, with a name like that.

Clethentit McCheeks
>be half-Orc bastard
>mom leaves you in an alleyway hoping you'll die
>someone takes pity on you and takes you to an orphanage
>fall into the wrong crowd and join a gang called the Inglorious Bastards
>out doing hooligan shit
>you black out and you realize that you're 30
>5 charisma so you're ugly on top of having a hard life and having a shitty name
Being Clethentit was suffering

Played this one awhile back but the game fell apart due to people not being able to show up consistently. Considering playing it again in a different game, any major changes I should make?

Sounds solid to me. I can't think of anything really to add or modify

You're trolling for ready-made NPCs, aren't you?

Do you mean trawling?

What's your OC's favorite hobby?

Ploughing hoes and working his wood. Gardening at his orchard.

likes going to bars and clubs, and seduces women to see how they react. He likes social manipulation a lot. His other hobby could basically be said to be sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. The two aren't mutually exclusive, actually.

• Name: Soulless Sir Coram

• Role(s): knight in exile, magic sword enthusiast, alchemist, the least religious ordained priest on the planet

• Goals: stop being a fuckmothering vampire, ideally after the realm is made safe and stable, aaaaand maybe after putting a century or two in with the waifu. Goddamn elves and their unreasonable lifespans.

• Traits: a grunt's grunt in knightly plate who swears or complains constantly, ends up in fights twice a day, and prefers doing to talking to the point of doing without telling anyone. Under that, he harbours a quiet devotion to what he thinks his faith should be like, and dedication to an earthy sort of chivalry.

• Flaws: abrasive, thinks in terms of duty and obligation above anything else (and undeath didn't help with that), detached (and not willing to adapt) from local society and culture, not very good at talking to people outside of official settings or the military.

• Allies: the party, three sisters, dame Neferi the mercenary matriarch, Rampart the magic-seeking murderdog.

• Enemies: the cult of Dagon, plus the sea and everything in it in general. The cult of Set plus snakes and everything similar to snakes. The goddamn meddling cleric. Dad.

• Other Relations: Several mercenary captains and hedge knights from the bad old days, an extended family with sticky fingers and holy symbols in many affairs, illicit or otherwise, an astonishing amount of elves.

• Physical Description: A short-ish, pale skinned bloke with the grace and poise of a brick shithouse, and the shaven head to match. Eternal three day scruff due to being killed in a somewhat unkempt state. Most of the body covered in warding tattoos against mind magic and possession.

>What's your OC's favorite hobby?
Playing weiqi with his confessor. He gets his ass handed to him on a silver platter with a side of garlic nine times out of ten, but by now it's a ritual, and they both like taking an hour or two off from the world every few days.

He seems to have quite the group of allies. How the hell does that even happen?
He seduces them just to see what happens? Why?

Aside from reading and making magical items (because duh wizard), the last incarnation of this character liked to play board-games, and was kind of a munchkin about it. I shamelessly ripped off that line Virion says from Fire Emblem though, where he says even though he won, it'd never work in a real battle because his troops would have his head on a stake long before the battle was finished. (And indeed, this character was far from a good leader in any REAL fight. I was sorta deliberately poking fun at the "theorycraft" mentality.)

Also a bit of "cooking", although being the only elf in the party I thought it'd be funny to describe the spices she used as extremely bitter and unpleasant to everyone else in the party. Dem elves and their weird tastes, y'know.

Both are fishing metaphors.

What specific fear does your character have that is not related to violence/combat/monsters?

>Drowning
I dunno, all my characters sorta have this phobia. I blame IRL experiences.

>Being poisoned
So, before the whole wizard thing happened, my character was practicing to become an alchemist, as explained in the blurb. Turns out, when you're making medicine for sick/injured people, mistakes are a really really bad thing to make. Alchemy teacher sorta drove in this point to her apprentices by having them test everything they made on themselves, even when she knew they had made a (non-fatal) mistake. Nothing motivates you to be careful like vomiting your guts out for 3 days. Unfortunately it sorta made the character super wary of taking potions prepared by anyone else unless a party member tested it first.

>Drow
Sorta related to monsters, but not so much in the sense of having any personal experiences with them, and more in the sense that they were the object of spooky childhood stories and stuff. Do you know they roam the forest at night and look for lost elven who wander too far from the village? Then when they catch you, they drag you underground for experiments where they drain your blood and replace it with drow blood and you BECOME a drow?! (She KNOWS on an intellectual level that these stories are dumb, but when you've grown up with them...)

>Mind-Controlling magic
Won't touch it. Will never ever trust anyone whom she knows uses it. The idea is just incredibly unsettling to her.
(Last game I used mind-control magic, and all the other schools of magic because magic is magic and there is no good or evil magic... but some "unfortunate implications" came up and I think I'd avoid it a second time around.)

Well, chronicler is mia so you guys get to hear me chew my nails. Anyone else submitted some writing to The Bard Quarterly?

What?

Feels awesome to see my character/doodle in the OP, thanks somebody.
>Name
Luvos Nichto
>Role
Planar Explorer, Diabolic Conjurer, Guest Villain
>Goals
To remain on the forefront of knowledge, exploration, and change. Luvos is in the process of writing a series of encyclopedias of planar knowledge. He is experimenting with means of achieving immortality and slowly perfecting his revenge against his wizard peers.
>Traits
Luvos has little respect for conventions. He enjoys the fleeting nature of comprehension and more enjoys the hunt for knowledge itself. He has demonstrated a frightening degree of patience and a somewhat obsessive personality. He is easily flustered. Luvos is attracted to forbidden knowledge and other things an authority figure says are dangerous this is derived from a desire to overcompensate and impress others by taming such dangerous things. Growing up as a half-drow raised by humans has given him an affinity for the taboo and makes him feel like a kindred spirit to most things labelled as evil and secretive.
>Flaws
In addition to having little respect for tradition, Luvos' time spent exploring the multiverse and planescape has left him reluctant to put any faith in the moral boundaries of any one plane. He has picked up the habit of introducing himself in fancier and fancier nonsensical titles. He believes he is the smartest person in any room but that everyone seems to know something he doesn't. Any attempts at appearing friendly are usually hindered by his creepy and overblown mannerisms, lack of social awareness, and the stench of brimstone clinging to his robes.
>Allies
A animated foot stool with the personality of a terrier and a clumsy broomstick.
>Physical Description
Luvos is a young looking man swathed in several layers of dark robes, he is hooded at most times and has dusky grey skin which shows on his face and finger tips. His drow heritage has gives him his yellow eyes and aversion to sunlight. He has sharp features and poor posture.

Here's all my stories I've written so far, working on a new one right now pastebin.com/ZBf8sSx7

Luvos is afraid of the ocean, overbearing sunlight, no land for a solid structure, book ruining water everywhere.
Luvos favorite hobby besides the obvious reading is spying on people in his scrying orb, it appeases his jealous and curious nature to watch people, learn things about them they never meant to share and get to covet what they have.
Luvos doesn't party very often by virtue of being alone, the closest he comes is conjuring up succubi to shower him with praise. His mary sue score was an eight.

I assumed word had made it here already
Since it hasnt, Ill be going.

Tell me about the relationships in your party - not just your OCs, but of your other party members.

They're all kinds of fucked up.

>Bard Diva has been pregnant since session 1 with her husbando noble's baby, and last session we discovered husbando was not only an antagonist, but a monstrous one engaged in hideous blood experiments. We have no idea what's going to slither out of that girl's womb.

>Oracle had a pretty but quite simple village girl that proclaimed her love for our Oracle under the harvest moon and begged him to stay with her and start a family. He denied her (she didn't realize her childhood crush was gay,) and we left the next morning. Things got awkward when we discovered she ran after the party and got turned into a vampire after a local blood-sucking aristocrat noticed the lovely farm-girl in the big city.

>Magus is totally asexual, no relationships on that front

>Human Slayer knocked up a Hamadryad when he was young and had to care for the changeling child that came from it after she had to flee to a magical refuge when the BBEG started hunting for her. We're about to reunite with the Hamadryad, but the DM said she is dying as her magical energy seeps out to maintain the barriers protecting the village from monsters.

Sigmund might become a widower before he even gets a chance to settle down with Aomeda.

Well the paladin married the elf, the dogman wooed some sort of goddess into having his puppies, there's a married couple of elves sharing one body, another elf everything and their cat wants to bang, yet another elf that takes treehugging a bit more literally than usual, another knight that wants to bang the bangbait elf but never will... it gets a bit complicated, and there are more elves.

Armadillos
Kaiger doesn't know why he's scared of them but he's extremely terrified of them.

Being paralysed, charmed, or otherwise rendered helpless or compliant. Mental illness or tampering. Failure and inadequacy. The sea, but that's less 'drowning' and more 'shit that lives there', so it's semi-monster related. Wild elves in a similar vein.

Character development question: At what time has your character felt the most scared?

How did your character overcome this fear if at all?

Valaane is horribly claustrophobic and fears the 'true' end (aka a final death) for herself or any close allies. If something can't 'come back', she'd probably break down.

Luvos was probably the most terrified for the weeks he was watching his old master slowly wither away on his death bed, part of him wanted to help save the old wizard so he wouldn't have to be alone again but part of him also wanted access to all the forbidden books and rituals that he knew the guy had. He couldn't figure out which scenario scared him more being alone or not getting to learn what he'd been seeking for a long time in the end the poor old guy died because Luvos was too scared to ever come in and help him, kind of made the decision for him.

HOO boy. Q is in a relationship with a vampire which may or may not be derived from a bloodbond, Josh is a polygamist because he doesn't believe in commitment because daddy issues, has a stalker who heard about him in the future and found an Iris back in time to get to him, and the werewolf is completely oblivious over the women pining for his attention, too busy hunting the man that killed his family. All in all, pretty standard for the world of darkness.

Well, his best friend and he were normal people until Q tripped down a flight of stairs, died and came back. Josh had been going through a long term acanthus Awakening for the past year, and he didn't know; thought his luck had just turned around. The agent became their acquaintance when he needed to interrogate them in relation to a case. And as for why he does that? He enjoys adjusting social situations to see how things changes, the similar patterns some people have. He seduces them in a way that they approach him, and he sees how they do so. It's part of what caused his Awakening.

More answers! Josh was most scared when he was first coming into the world of the supernatural. He had been assaulted by a spirit, found out he was a mage after a strange fever dream, his new condo was filled with ghosts and a vampire. This was a man who up to that point had just skated by on his looks. And has overcome this fear? Well, sort of. He isn't overwhelmed by all of it anymore, but he still encounters things that terrify him, like when he started noticing people with fiery green eyes noticing him, and moving in a photo like the fucking grudge.

>Name
Kabe-chan
>Goals
Make America great again. Build a wall, fast
>Traits
Kabe-chan is a benevolent and bubbly source of patriotism and good in the world, she can be a bit boisterous at times and just wants what's best for America.
>Flaws
Ha!
>Allies
Trump-sama is Kabe-chans closest ally and an ally to the entire free world. Kabe-chan is good friends with the American people.
>Enemies
Bernie-jukeisha cannot be trusted.

See, now this is a waifu I can get behind.

...

>>Flaws
>Ha!

she a shit

Ever so slightly closer to being finished.

Looks good can't wait to see it done.

...

It's a complete trainwreck to be honest...

>Party Ranger has a wife who he met adventuring but ran away from in the night to continue seeking a life of glory and adventure.

>The Cleric is in an on and off hatefuck thing with the necromancer who murdered her ex in one of their necromantic experiments.

>The rogue is a delusional high elf with delusions of grandeur and is saving himself for 'The Queen of the Drow' and fully intends to become the lord of the Drow somehow.

>The afformentioned Necromancer is a sexually liberal sociopath who has a checklist of sentient races she has yet to kill and a checklist of races she has yet to fuck.

That isn't to say anything about their players though who are all reasonably normal people but this campaign has been devolving ever since their original DM threw a fit, TPK'd them and left.

>implying this isn't my maid rpg character

Woah that's dysfunctional as all hell.

Kaiger's favorite hobby is probably listening to bard songs and just listening to stories. That or hunting.
Two times
The first watching Demogorgon, the Prince of Demons, a rise from an ocean in the Underdark. The mere presensce of this god made the majority of the party go insane. In Kaiger's own insanity he couldn't help but laugh at how helpless they all were in this situation

The second instance was going to Hell was intially fun for Kaiger. He got slaughter demons 'n shit like a good hero then he met the Death Knight who's name was forgotten by time. He gave the party an ultimatum to serve him or die. We're a lvl 4 party. Most the of the group is missing so it's only Kaiger(barbarian),Marijuano Blaze(Warlock),Erroneous(Cleric) and the Bard. We knew we couldn't take this fucker. The bard was trying to swindle our way out of it but the Death Knight wasn't haven't it. The half-orc was silent most of the conversation just being in the presensce of such a fearsome foe. But then he remembered that they still had stop a god and a death cult. The heroes that the Bard and his mom told him about didn't back down when all seemed lost. So he spoke "So you're offer is death or to make us monsters? It seems like a monster is the perfect label for a half-orc. I mean that's everyone calls us. Orcs are the servants of evil. So let me let me tell you this, my story is going to be like those and it won't end serving an ass like you." and he proceeded to mange to land a blow on the Death Knight.

I apologized quickly out of character. The Bard decided to sit the fuck out of this but Marijuano and Erroneous backed up Kaiger. The fight pretty much went Kaiger hits the Death Knight, Death Knight downs Kaiger, one of them had Kaiger get back up while tries to hurt the Death Knight. We managed to get this asshole down to 15 hp but apparently he had a demilich skull on him so he did some that damn near killed us and healed him for all the damage we took.

>• Name:
Amon Farris
>• Role(s):
Scholar, Mage, Amateur Alchemist
>• Goals:
To discover the true nature of magic, why it exists, and what made it exist
>• Traits:
A cynical, pessimistic coward, Amon is one who'd much rather let others do the fighting for him as he scours ancient ruins for lost knowledge. Walks with a limp and uses a cane.
>• Flaws:
Is oftentimes too afraid to get anything done, manipulative, a debbie downer, and refuses to work with mages not sanctioned by the government.
>• Allies:
The fellow spellcasters and scholars at the Mage's Guild hall.
>• Enemies:
All rogue mages, a treasure hunter named Yorik who's after an indecipherable tablet Amon found
>• Other Relations:
The instructors and teachers at his old magic academy, the Kingsmeet Wolves mercenary guild, whom he's employed on many of his expeditions.
>• Physical Description:
A rather ugly, pale and short man. He stands at around 5'6" with a skinny, but relatively fit build. He has black, graying hair that just reaches his shoulders, and has a large, crooked nose. He often wears padded armor covered by a coat, and a wide-brimmed hat. Due to an injury he sustained years ago, he also carries a cane to assist in walking long distances, and is rarely seen without it.

>Development Question: How often does your character party?
Never ever at the moment. However, if he was invited to some kind of royal ball of some sort, or an equally prestigious gathering, he would most certainly attend it out of good manners alone.

As in romantic relationships?

>Kaiger
He has a crush on a half-elf tavern owner but knows full well that she isn't in to him.

>The Dragon's Bard, pretty sure he lacks a sex drive but he originally planned on wooing Kaiger's sister. Not out of love for or spite to Kaiger, he just hates how seemingly perfect she is. No one likes a story who never fails so his plan to make her fall in love with him then he was going to break her heart. He changed his plan after meeting her because he realized that she could and would probably kill him

>Marijuano Blaze the Dank Elf of Prophecy
He was formerly in a relationship with a childhood friend but he broke it off so he could see the world. He's known to sleep with barmaids if he gets bored/high enough

>Clethentit McCheeks
He was an ugly and dumb but he once banged an entire town of Dwarves

>Erroneous,
He has split personality and his primary personality seems to pure for this world or relationships. The second one doesn't come out enough but I could be wrong. He's been away from the party and the player and DM have had some back and forth in PMs.

There's like four-five more characters but the gist is they're all single.

The OC above and below you must team up to defeat the antagonist in the last thing you've watched. How does it go?

Coram, Luvos, and Amon team up? Probably less of a team and more of maybe all of them getting lost in the same ruins or some shit.

I missed the second part of that question, they team up to defeat some a super kobold wolf guy from an anime. Sounds about right.

>Name:
Emese Szarka, Ban-In-Waiting of Whitemarrow

>Role(s):
Duellist, Spy, Diplomat, Nobility

>Goals:
Dedicated to the steadfast protection and continuing prosperity of the realm, the people and the Empress. Long may she reign!

>Traits:
Emese is intelligent, cunning and takes her duties as the de-facto head of her house very seriously. Outwardly she appears rather easy going and relaxed, though she can be ruthlessly pragmatic, preferring to settle issues and solve problems in a direct fashion.

>Flaws:
Her aggressive approach and relaxed attitude to issues of etiquette and protocol have alienated her from the wealthier lords and ladies inland, especially those who preside at court. Her loyalty to the realm permits her to a measure of ethically flexibility that some would find troubling.

>Allies:
Many of her fellow Bans along the northern coast respect her loyalty and apparent integrity, if not partly because she is shunned by the softer nobles from the inland realm.

>Enemies:
Outland raiders ravage the coastal settlements regularly, and the Half-King in exile is a traitorous bastard intent on usurping the Empress with foreign aid.

>Other Relations:
Aside from her mother, the official Ban of Whitemarrow, bedridden since her husband was killed, she has a long list of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

>Physical Description:
Tall and lean, pale of complexion, with her mothers raven hair and her fathers green eyes. She dresses practically, but with a little flair.

Kaiger,Ajax and Farryn team up to fight an orc warlock who leading an orc warband.

Kaiger's plan would be to challenge Gul'dan to mak'gora so he can just steal the Horde for himself but considering how that went for Durotan maybe one of the two would convince him that plan wouldn't be the best. So they just try to gank the warlock but something tells me that Ajax is the type of the person who'd betray the party to save his own skin.

Would waifu/10

What are some examples of good reasons a character might turn to dark or forbidden magic? I've been wanting to make some kind of Warlock or something, but I'm having an issue figuring out just what reasons someone might have for such a thing other than being straight-up evil.

To save someone/something
To have power to protect someone/something

The road to hell is paved with good intentions

As an elf, Arallios is afraid of sleeping, though he'll never admit it as a straight fear and insist that sleeping races are just fucking insane. Storytime to explain:
Not knowing how to explain it, players agree that in our campaign trance as a sort of clusterfuck of power saver mode mixed with lucid hallucinations. Basically, he's awake but can still dream within the bounds of basic imagination.
>be Arry the elf
>get into convo with bard about how the hell trance gives any rest when he's still conscious
>elf counters how the hell sleeping gives any rest when you willingly knock yourself out, leaving you vulnerable to all sorts of dangers
>mutual touche, followed by Arallios getting the idea to learn how to sleep
>uses magic to turn into a wolf, bard sings a lullaby to help him out
>thinks the bard is trying to kill him, since he can only liken slowly losing all senses to near-death/dying
>cut to black
>cut to Arallios finding himself back in elf form with bard and barbarian in a "forest"
>trees are growing different fruits that tastes like each other (pears taste like oranges, apples like bananas, etc)
>can't find a way out of the forest, every time bard uses Fly item she says to go in a different direction to get out
>barbarian just kicks trees for more fruit
>awake bard wakes up elf, who is very very confused
>babbles about the nonsense he saw, can't believe it was all fake
>swears off sleeping, says the sleeping races can keep their nonsense realities to themselves
>quietly admits in an extremely vague sentence that he's fine with dying if the bard kills him
Boi lemme get back to ya, this'll take a new post. But our game has reached FFVI levels of "party member" recruits, so I have to ask if you want the core members or absolutely everyone.

Aight, again. Keeping it to classes because privacy.
In order of party recruitment:
>Arallios, Ranger M
>Fighter M
>Rogue F
>Wizard M
>Baker F NPC
>Bard F
>Barbarian F NPC
>Sorcerer F NPC
>Wizard#2 F NPC
>Monk/Ranger#2 F NPC
>Rogue#2 F NPC
Starting with love shapes: (r)elationship, (q)uestionable, (o)ne-sided, (~)did it, (?) dunno
>Arallios (r~) Bard
>Arallios (q) Barbarian
>Fighter (o~) Rogue
>Fighter (~) Barbarian
>Fighter (r~) Sorcerer
>Fighter (?) Wizard#2
>Wizard (r~) Baker
As far as everything else I can fit:
>Fighter and Arallios near-constantly at odds due to their practically opposite views from threats to strategy
>Fighter and Wizard have odd clashes when Fighter doesn't want to look at other options
>Rogue doesn't like Arallios because he doesn't listen to the Fighter, Arallios won't blame a shovel for digging a hole
>Wizard and Arallios have a truce between logic and impulse, though Wizard is barely afraid of Arallios ever since he wiped him in a spar
>Baker was our line to a contact who had since died after her recruitment. Said contact's death nearly broke the party by proxy
>Bard likes pretty much everyone
>Barbarian kept a few of us captive/enslaved before recruitment, only Wizard had hard feelings that he mostly got over. Crushed on the Rogue for a bit before confessing to Arallios
>Sorcerer is flirty as fugg if she can get away with it. We were to take care of her because plot. Later find out she's actually a clone of that person, she had an identity crisis that we've mostly gotten past
>Wizard#2 showed up asking if we could get her stuff back. Ended up out of our hands and we took her in, the Fighter quickly getting attached, the others mostly neutral aside from her prideful streak
>Monk/Ranger#2 was GM's attempt to have a story reason for something the Fighter wanted to do OOC, but it fell apart and now she's just kinda..there
>Rogue#2 is part of our current quest to help plane-displaced people, most haven't grown an opinion

Amon is completely terrified of his work being lost/stolen/destroyed. It's given him some paranoid tendencies, and he spends a lot of time hiding them in places he only knows of, and encrypting his findings within codes and ciphers.

>"Captain" Isaac Rochester
Our very first job, he used the payment from our completed job for a Lady Magister to just get shitfaced drunk on dragon absinthe, climbed into the same Lady magister's bedroom, and seduced her. Woke up the next morning handcuffed to the bed, with a horse in the room and a statue of the Lady Magister firmly lodged inside of him underneath a chastity belt. Also has a thing going with the captain of our "rival" crew, this fiery alcoholic gunslinger with a choice ass. He's a somewhat decent sort though, and he won't sleep with her when she's drunk, so they never sealed the deal.

>Rabbit Ackerman
He's our full mental dump stat beatstick half-orc. This massive slab of meat, everything is in CON. Has no game whatsoever, but still attracted this rabid fan when we were performing in the coliseum. She was a hot redhead elf who called him "her green machine" and was just enamored because she'd never seen an orc before. Highlights include loudly hoovering Rabbit's hog in the bunks while everyone was trying to sleep, biting Isaac's testicles when he tried to throw her off the ship, and making a "stuffed rabbit" out of old clothes and shed hair.

>Navier Ackerman
Rabbit's NPC brother and our pilot. He has a thing going on with the pilot of the "rival" crew, who turned out to be an underachieving manacite addict. The party banded together to make them break up after he started trying to get Navier on them too. It was like an afterschool special of a session, with more punching and crashing airships

> Seeker Arkilles
Plowing Naeva now, but he has an ex that we actually hired to run the shop in the tavern we opened. She was a cunt who made him feel like he was lucky to get anything because of his horsey bits. She got forcepushed into the sea for shit talking Arkilles in front of Naeva.

Name:
>Piper Adgate
Role(s):
>Alchemist, ranged attacker, support
Goals:
>She wants the world to raise and care for Oozes as they do any other pet or livestock, at the very least she wants them to be seen as part of the natural world and not monsters.
Traits:
>Optimistic, excitable, more than a little awkward, she will refuse to shut up if you get her started talking about the proper care and treatment of Oozes as well as their potential applications in society, Piper also has an uncanny hunger.
Flaws:
>She has never lived among civilization and doesn't particularly understand social niceties or the basics of interaction. In addition she has a very morally grey stance on the world and while she does know right from wrong her own determination on whether or not you're a good person is almost entirelly based on how you treat her precious Oozes.
Allies:
>Piper works as an Ichormancer, a sort of consultant Ooze vet and trainer for hire. She has contacts with a variety of people ranging from liches, evil wizards, nobles, and bandit clans who have all required her services in either removing problematic Oozes or providing them with Oozes for their dungeons. Other than the party Piper holds that the only being she feels is truly her friend is her Ooze companion she calls Cavatica.
Enemies:
>Piper has gotten on the wrong side of a clerical druid order who see Ooze as demon spawn and see Piper as an accomplice to the death of any adventurer the Oozes she creates and sells cause. While they aren't activley hunting her down they are large enough in size and influence that they've been making life difficult for her lately.
Other Relations:
>Piper's parents were reclusive alchemists who both passed away of old age. Piper raised herself in their home in the swamplands ever since then. If she has an extended family she doesn't know about them.
Physical Description:
>Messy orange hair, chubby, freckled, pale, and jubilant.

She looks adorable.

Would totally go on bizarre arcane adventures with

>Name:
Elwint Skylark
>Role(s):
Magical Support, party face, moral compass.
>Goals:
Honor his family legacy and become a bard of world-wide renown. Free the soul of his daughter from the demon that holds it so she may rest in peace.
>Traits:
Ambitious, resourceful, and eternally optimistic, Elwint is a glory seeker above all else and will put his life on the line if he believes it will make him shine brighter in the shadow of his family. He is an excellent conductor and can summon the spirits of his deceased relatives to play for him.
>Flaws:
Despite his families long line of extremely talented bards Elwint has absolutely no talent when it comes to playing instruments. He is also very sensitive when it comes to the topic of his family, especially if the fact that he isn't a real musician is brought up. Elwint refuses to let evil deeds go unpunished, often getting himself into sticky situations.
>Allies:
Most of his ancestors, the party, an orphaned street urchin that idolizes him.
>Enemies:
The strongest members of his family that don't acknowledge him as a real bard. A troupe of performers mad about him stealing away their customers.
>Other Relations:
His parents who cast him out into the world when he was found to have no musical talent for fear that he would beseech the family name.
>Physical Description:
Elwink stands at 5'9 with a pretty average build. He has long pink hair styled into a pompadour(a permanentlook thanks to a travelling wizard) and deep blue eyes with a very large angular chin. He dresses in the traditional purple and gold suit jacket of his family crest, adorning it with a large gaudy bow. A small pair of spectacles rest upon his rather large nose.
>Development Question: How often does your character party?
Wherever there's wine, women, and song one can also find Elwint Skylark. He is usually the one providing the music for whatever the situation may be, whether the participants wish for it or not.

I made this character in a previous thread, but before I go ahead and put him into action very soon, I don't know how to decide a specific aspect of his character history: Whether or not his wife should be alive or dead. And I want to ask you anons for advice on what I should choose.

Whenever I think anything that would be considered prominent as part of his history, I think of an excuse to "humble" Robert. He may have served 5 years in the military during a war, but he was only in a handful of engagements. The saving of a prince's life happened because of dumb luck, only because Robert was in the right place and the right time. Samuel isn't engaged to the lord's daughter, but the lord isn't the king, and she's not her only daughter. And so on and so on.

You see, I like the idea of any character having multiple, nominally separate but nonetheless subtly interconnected, reasons for character motivation/drive, but I also want Robert's 'call to adventure' to be as down-to-earth as possible (while still not being completely of course) because I want Robert to be as down-to-earth as possible. What I'm afraid of is adding too much to him, which would remove his simple, humble origins by entangling him with detail. Robert isn't supposed to be a "tragic" character who had a "hard life", and I don't want him to become one.

*Samuel is engaged
(mixed up "isn't engaged to the king's daughter")

Josh has a fear of commitment. After his father "died", his mother never remarried and had to devote most of her time to work, leaving him to take care of his sister.

Excellent choice of inspiration user, would definitely attend one of his concerts.

If your OC had to choose between becoming a
>vampire
>werewolf
>death
which would they choose?

No other answer choice counts.

Probably a vampire since he already hates the sun.

So, would this thread object to a big dump of storytime?

Of course not, do me a favor and either post your character details first or just link to them.

Arallios is already planning to temporarily become a werewolf via risky magic item to help out in the party's current quest. Whether or not everything goes according to keikaku is yet to be seen.

For a more permanent arrangement however, he'd most likely choose to be a vampire, if only because the only status quo he'd see being changed is that being active during the day would be difficult and what he'd have to hunt for his diet would change considerably but not impossibly. Opposed to a werewolf's night-time feral berserking and just dropping dead to leave his loved ones behind, to him it's no contest.

>Name:
Tristan Krislar
>Role(s):
Self-taught Witch, Vigilante, Fugitive
>Goals:
To find a cure to the disease that plagues his home's wildlife.
>Traits:
Calm, empathetic, and resourceful. Tristan sees himself as a warden and caretaker of his home of Blightwood, a massive, diseased forest named Blightwood. Because of this, he is extremely respectful of nature.
>Flaws:
Only has a glancing knowledge of "civilized" social norms and manners. Dislikes elves. Oftentimes he focuses so much on his lofty goal that he misses what's right in front of him. Due to a mishap with his magic at a young age, his left arm is corrupted by malignant magical forces, something he does his best to hide lest he be branded a practitioner of the dark arts.
>Allies:
His father, and a rather desperate Duke who trusted in Tristan's divination abilities that alerted the noble of his son's undetected sickness.
>Enemies:
The Church of the Holy Flame who see him as a heretic, particularly a cleric by the name of Augustus who is currently hunting him down.
>Other Relations:
The Circle of Crones, the largest organization of Witches. While they only have met in passing due to their powers, they do somewhat respect Tristan for his talent.
>Physical Description:
Tall, very thin and rather gaunt, Tristan may appear to be sickly or malnourished, but in reality that's simply the way his body is built. His hair is blonde and shoulder-length, and he has fair, blemish-free skin on most of his body. His left arm, however, is clearly tainted and corrupted by some malignant force. It is black and purple, covered in boils and sores. He always keeps it wrapped in bandages, but even they get stained with black emissions that leak from his skin after some time.

story time!

Well, Sigmund almost became a werewolf after fighting them a half-dozen times, so I'd have to go with that.

Vampires are far too restrictive, and death is simply *not* an option; Sigmund doesn't live for himself anymore, he's got a family to protect.

bump?

Kaiger would choose Werewolf because he thinks wolves are kickass. Also part of the moon is destroyed so no more lycanthropy in his world.

Thug would rather die. If he was a Vampire he'd never see the sun again and if he were a furfag he'd never be able to respect himself again.

Rashad would probably love to become A Death. Being death sounds awesome!

new thread fellas!

Yeah, typo on my part lol

I almost made this joke.

>How often does your character party?
Lugh's life is a party, and everyone's invited.

It would be tough, but Lugh would probably become a Vampire, simply so his stories would survive the longest. After a while, he would write them all down then walk outside on a nice spring morning.

Did that come from the drawthread?

Yup.

Having associated with both, Josh would much rather be a werewolf. However, it would feel like a major downgrade in versatility.

Amon would likely choose Vampire, due to the promise of immortality. It would allow him to continue his search and studies long after he would normally be able to.

>• Name:
Ragos
>• Role(s):
Ogre Berserker, Mercenary, Pariah
>• Goals:
To discover what the runes etched into the talisman found around his neck as an infant means.
>• Traits:
Taciturn, huge, strong and reliable.
>• Flaws:
Doesn't care much for laws, can be quick to anger, rarely thinks before he acts, and is very ugly.
>• Allies:
The mercenary guild that brought him in as a child.
>• Other Relations:
Most humans see him as suspicious at the very least due to his race.
>• Physical Description:
A hulking, 9-foot tall and ugly Ogre, Ragos certainly stands out in a crowd. Possessing somewhat dark skin, thin, wispy hair, scars that riddle his body, and crooked fangs and teeth that protrude from his mouth, most would describe him to be intimidating in appearance. He usually wears a set of specially-crafted leather armor, and a cloak large enough to cover him when in the field. When relaxing, he wears commoner clothes - again, specially made to fit him.

Uh, nothing? No response?

The thread is kind of dead of late.

Your character is boring as shit.

>To discover what the runes etched into the talisman found around his neck as an infant means.
I'm sure there's a story here
