The frog monster, encased in its gigantic, slimy bubble, grins at you both as it approaches, somehow swimming through it and yet moving the bubble forward. It's not moving very fast at the moment, but there's something... unnerving in how it moves. And somehow it seems to be... well, almost taunting you into attacking it, with that stupid grin on its face.

"T-Termina, you've got a way to beat this thing, right?" Lynna asks nervously, moving behind you.

Well, let's see...

>A. Sword Beam!
>B. Bombs away!
>C. Crossbow!
>D. Defenses up!
>E. Zas, let's take 'em down!
>F. Coordinate with Lynna, see if you can put the Hookshot to use!
>G. Something else?

>A. Sword Beam!
>D. Defenses up!
Play it safe until we know what's it's deal is.

>B. Bombs away!
Let's see if a bomb can burst that bubble!

>F. Coordinate with Lynna, see if you can put the Hookshot to use!
See if it can be used to drag the creature out of the bubble.

Okay, roll me 4d10, best of three, DC is 5 for all.

Rolled 1, 5, 1, 4 = 11 (4d10)

Hmm... Ok then, changing my vote here to combining these two. Blow off the bubble and snatched it out via hookshot.

Rolled 6, 7, 6, 4 = 23 (4d10)

Rolled 2, 1, 9, 7 = 19 (4d10)

Gogogo!

All right then, writing...

You draw your sword and swiftly swing it forward, the beam bolting from it and towards the monster's bubble. It enters, but somehow starts to dissipate inside, right before reaching the target. However, the bubble weakens slightly starting to "leak" where your sword struck.

The monster frog becomes enraged, and somehow bolts at you through the bubble, slamming into you. You're knocked on your back and... eww eww eww eww! Agh it's everywhere! It's SLIMY! Eww eww eww! The monster "swims" at you through the bubble, menacing grin on its face. You push yourself up, trying to ignore the slime and focus on your foe, this time coming up with a better plan. "Lynna, get this thing out of the bubble!"

She takes aim at it and fires her hookshot... latching onto the monster right as it's about to take a swipe at you, your shield blocking the hit. The surprised frog creature is quickly pulled out and flung against the wall. The bubble leaks out completely, you moving quickly to avoid the leaking liquid and take a hard slash down on the creature. The monster shrieks in pain, swatting you back, then quickly hops away, croaking angrily. The liquid from the bubble starts following the monster, reforming around it...

>A. Keep it up! Hookshot it to keep it out of the bubble!
>B. Bombs away!
>C. Crossbow!
>D. Defenses up!
>E. Sword strike!
>F. Something else?

[Hearts: 5/6]

>A. Keep it up! Hookshot it to keep it out of the bubble!
>B. Bombs away!

>B. Bombs away!

Yeah, let's try this.

Okay! Roll me 2d10, best of three, please. DC is 5 for both.

Rolled 8, 4 = 12 (2d10)

Rolled 3, 7 = 10 (2d10)

Rolled 2, 10 = 12 (2d10)

C'mon!

Perfect!

Writing...

You look to Lynna again. "That trick seems to work. Hit 'em with your Hookshot again! Don't let him stay in that bubble!"

"Got it, Termina!" she responds, taking aim. The monster realizes what she's doing and starts to move towards her, but she stands firm. The Hookshot bolts towards it and latches on, pulling the creature out of the bubble and, with Lynna spinning around slightly, slamming it into the wall.

You run at the now-stunned monster, letting out a yell as you pull out a bomb. You jump up and slam the explosive into the monster's open mouth, kicking off and moving away with a flip. You turn away as the monster realizes what is about to happen to it. The bomb explodes, finishing the creature off for good, its body disappearing in a puff of blackened mist.

Lynna seems slightly star struck as you walk towards her. "That... w-we... you were so cool!"

The door opens, a chest falling down from the ceiling... covered in the same slime.

>A. I thank you for that, but I'd be in a lot more trouble if you weren't here to help
>B. I need at least five showers. Maybe six. Ick...
>C. Open up the chest
>D. Let Lynna open the chest, you don't want any more of this stuff on you...
>E. Something else?

>A. I thank you for that, but I'd be in a lot more trouble if you weren't here to help

>A. I thank you for that, but I'd be in a lot more trouble if you weren't here to help
>B. I need at least five showers. Maybe six. Ick...
>D. Let Lynna open the chest, you don't want any more of this stuff on you...
Heheh

Maybe we can bomb the slime off instead?

But what if we destroy the contents of the chest, user!?

Aww fine. Still think we shouldn't foist that on Lynna, we're already slimy.

>A. I thank you for that, but I'd be in a lot more trouble if you weren't here to help
>B. I need at least five showers. Maybe six. Ick...
>C. Open up the chest

You smile at her. "I thank you for that, Lynna, but I'd be in a lot more trouble if you weren't here to help."

"R-really?" she asks in surprise.

You nod and giggle. "Indeed. You stood your ground and managed to keep it out of its protective bubble." A bit of slime slowly drips down from your hair. Eww... "Speaking of, I need... at least five showers now. Maybe six." Lynna's turn to giggle as you walk to the chest, trying to shake it off. You desperately hope that this stuff doesn't harden quickly. Opening up the chest you find...

youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0

...a [Boss Key]! One more to go!

You and Lynna head back out to the room you came from. There are three stairways to head down, one on the left side of the room, and two opposite the door you came in from.

>A. Right North
>B. Right South
>C. Left
>D. Something else?

>c

>C. Left

>C. Left
Yeah alrighty.

You mean al-lefty?

user please

youtube.com/watch?v=n8A06A_c6UQ

You take the stairway to the left, hearing the sound of sloshing water down there... and the sound of creatures hopping around. You stick close to the wall, finding a more cavern-like area with a few pools of water there. From the sound of things... three Tektites, and possibly an Octorok.

"Termina, look!" Lynna points at one of the pools of water.

You spot a few shimmering figures in there... fish! Living fish! "So, these waters aren't poisoned." you comment aloud. They're also deeper than they seem. Though... first thing's first. You've got the element of surprise...

>A. Attack the Octorok!
>B. Bombchus, go after the Tektites before they notice you're here!
>C. Crossbow time!
>D. Zas, take 'em down!
>E. Lynna, bring them in with the hookshot!
>F. Something else?

Forgot we had Zas, heh. I think the only magic we'll be missing out on for a bit is teleport and spin cut. This will be a harder decision when we get more magic.

>A.
>C.

Rolled 10, 6, 8, 1 = 25 (4d10)

Rolled 8, 8, 2, 5 = 23 (4d10)

All righty, writing...

Noice.

Maybe we should have mentioned that we could summon the undead before throwing it out mid combat. Oh well, nothing like a little surprise now and then.

You ready yourself. "Lynna, on my signal, use the hookshot to bring one of the Tektites close. I'll deal with the Octorok."

"Got it, Termina." she responds, steadying herself behind you.

You move around the walls and locate the Octorok. Bringing your crossbow out, you quickly strike at it when it pops out of the water. Your bolt hits true, slaying the monster... and causing one of the Tektites to locate you and jump at you. You stumble back a little, but it puts the monster right in Lynna's line of sight. "LYNNA, NOW!" you shout.

She grabs the monster, bringing it closer to her. She twists in order to slam the monster into a wall, dazing it, and letting you slash wide at it, slicing it in half. There's still one more left...

"Zas, let's go!" you shout, summoning the Phantom Knight. The two of you move around, cornering the last Tektite and taking it down. You sigh out loud... well, this room's cleared.

"Tha- that... that..." the woman stutters, pointing at Zas as she comes back to you both.

>A. Long story, just give her a quick summary

Check if there's a way to get in and out of the water, a proper rinse would be nice.

I'll second this: We'll explain it more in-depth when the task is done. Or have Zas explain it himself, if he's feeling up to it.

You rub the back of your neck apologetically... eww, slime there too. "Lynna, this is Zas... actually, can it wait just a moment for explanation? I need to splash my face. Please." you plead.

She nods slowly, still staring at the Phantom Knight. You quickly run to the water, cupping some in your hands and splashing your face with it. The slime starts to come off, to your relief... and you spot something curious in the water. A... switch?

"Sooo..." Lynna starts, looking at Zas nervously. "...mister sword ghost thing, can you... understand me?"

"I can." he answers.

You clean off your face. "He was one of the Knights of Hyrule, before the war. Lost his life in battle as the coup started, and his spirit couldn't rest in peace. Not with an evil presence, the same one I believe has been responsible for incidents like this, on the rise." Ahhh, it's gone! No more slime on your face! "He was stuck in the Temple of Hylia, in Castle Town. The Great Fairy there made a pact with me, so that he could last just long enough for Hyrule to be saved from this coming evil."

"I... I see..." Lynna seems a little saddened, but nods. "Well, uh, nice to meet you, Mister...?"

"Zas."

The three of you look around the area, noticing a wall that seems to be slightly lighter than the others. It's still very solid, though, can't bomb your way in...

>A. Lynna, hit the switch in the water there
>B. Head back up, check one of the other two rooms you haven't checked yet
>C. Talk with Lynna a bit, she seems to be handling herself better than she did when you both arrived at the Temple

"Lynna, there's a switch in the water there, mind hitting it with your Hookshot?" you ask.

"No problem!" she replies cheerfully, moving to the edge of the water and taking aim. It hits the switch, and the wall opens. You head in, finding a chest. You open it up, and...

youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0

...you got the [Crown of Love]! A mystical power flows through it, apparently granting the wearer a barrier around themselves, though something about it seems to feel heavy.

You take the crown and head back up with Lynna and Zas. "Lynna... you seem to be handling this better than you were when we started. Are you? I don't mean to doubt you, I just want to make sure this isn't too overwhelming for you." you question, looking at Zas again. "This... IS a lot to take in at once, after all."

She's quiet, but not worryingly so. "I... I'll admit I wasn't so sure about heading in after confronting what happened to that Zora..." Her hands fidget slightly. "...but I need to save my home. I WANT to save my home. And... eheh, well, you're so young, and yet you seem so determined on saving Hyrule, with help or without it." She smiles sweetly. "I don't want you in over your head, kiddo."

You can't help but laugh at that comment. "I say again, I've been able to handle myself before. But I thank you for that concern."

You reach the upper layer, looking into one of the other stairways you haven't visited yet. In there is... a pool? A proper pool! And a chest. There's nothing in the pool, but it doesn't seem connected to any waterways. Doesn't... LOOK dangerous.

>A. Go in, get yourself cleaned up

All right I'm definitely liking this girl. Still like Aveli more so far, but notMain is good in my book.

>D. Lynna, mind checking the chest?
>B. Zas, mind stepping out to stand guard?

>A.
>E.

You look at the body of water and, approaching, splash it a little. Yep, it's water. "Zas, um... mind stepping out for a bit, to stand guard?"

"As you wish." the Phantom replies, floating up the stairway.

You almost bolt into the pool, removing your poncho and cleaning the slime from there... and just about everywhere else you can, washing yourself. You sigh out, pulling your head from the water. "That's better~"

"You sure it's safe in there, Termina?" Lynna questions, approaching nervously.

You move to the side of the pool. "It's not connected to any waterway, and it would be a fairly odd place for the poison to be. The shallow area in the other room was free of it, too. I believe it's safe." You pull yourself out of the pool, throwing your Poncho down to let it dry, and opening the chest on the other side of the room. Inside is...

youtube.com/watch?v=Ppy8d8_iEQo

...the [Temple Map]! All right, now you're set!

You head back in to make sure your clothes are properly cleaned. "...say, Lynna, you sure you don't want to take a dip in too? It's not too cold." you state, giving a playful splash.

"Ah, tempting..." she responds, seriously considering it. "...tell you what, we make it out of here and get this mess all fixed up, we head to the beach near my home. I can even lend you some spare swimwear!" she tells you with a laugh. "...tops might be a bit big for you, but I'm sure you can manage."

You give her a bit of a defensive glare and mumble out a "Hey!"

>A. Ah sure, beach sounds nice
>B. Ah, I wish I could, but I still have another dungeon to get through...
>C. Head out after you've got things dried off enough, go to the other pool room and see if there's anything out there

Gotta be thorough!

>A. Ah sure, beach sounds nice

No bully Zelda!

>A.
>C.

Wait, bully? How are we bullying her?

Not us. Lynna. Or our esteemed QM if you look at it that way.

She was bullying us. A little.
> "...tops might be a bit big for you, but I'm sure you can manage."

Oh. OH. Well now I feel like a moron.

Lynna has a bigger chest than us? Hot.

Yes well, she's actually an adult as opposed to out lithe 16 year old frame.

They'd just get in way of ADVENTURING anyway. Zelda's lucky!

You smile at her. "I... I'd like that. Thank you. A visit to the beach would be nice. Thank you." You step out of the pool, trying to dry your clothes off as best you can. "After we are done, of course."

"Of course, of course." she chuckles.

With yourself cleaned up, you and Lynna head into the next room opposite of the one you were in, Zas rejoining you both. There's another pool just like the one you were in, and a chest opposite it. Inside it is...

...a red Rupee! Score, literally!

...but your wallet is full. You hand it to Lynna, who promises to hold on to it for you.

The three of you move on to the final room, spotting the Zora still in the water, who gives you an approving nod. He seems to be doing better... well, as best he can given the news he got. The room has a series of switches, all with chests behind them. Well... this looks like quite a treasure trove, but it's also a bit suspicious. Two above, and two to either side.

Yeeeeah.

It was on the mural we saw last thread, don't remember the pattern off the top of my head though.

The mural pattern!

>A. ...try to recall if there was a pattern to them that you've seen before

This is not cash money. Would converting to larger denominations in town work, or do we need to spend?

Going by LoZ logic, we need to spend.

I wonder if we can make Zas hold cash when we're at maximum...

>A. ...try to recall if there was a pattern to them that you've seen before
Mural it is.

Ah, of course! The mural pattern! Let's see... two up, left, right, left, right...

youtube.com/watch?v=9z3_dlFsLEs

Aha! There you go! Something in front of the chests open. Seems there was an invisible wall in place. What's more, another chest drops down from the ceiling. You head over, finding...

...an empty bottle? With a note in it? You look over the note...

[To the Heroes of Times to Come,

I know this will come in handy, as it was to us. Keep it for your adventures, you'll need it.

Signed,]

...the name is too worn to read. Searching through the other chests, you find five red Rupees and... the second [Boss Key]! Now you're ready to take on the monster responsible for this mess!

>A. Lynna, Zas, let's get going!

>C. Something else?

>A. Lynna, Zas, let's get going!
Great success!

>A. Lynna, Zas, let's get going!

>B. Explore the area a bit more, just in case
Good thing anons remembered the mural. Wonder what would happen if we picked wrong though.

Either nothing or something bad. Why mess with it?

We haven't been doing much deep exploring here, we should give it a once over when we're done clearing it out.

You don't waste any time, and bolt towards the upper floor with Lynna and Zas. You make it to the doorway, opening it, Lynna noticing a pot to the side and bringing it with. There are two pillars with locks on either side, each with a slot matching the keys. You and Lynna put them in, opening the larger door blocking your way.

Inside there's a large pool of water, with a prominent, natural waterfall flowing down into it. Behind, there's another doorway, locked tight. The three of you step forward... and the water churns. You and Zas ready your swords, Lynna holding up the pot she was carrying as if to throw it. The creature moves, popping its head out of the water...

Oh Goddesses...

It has the head of a Zora, but a tremendous, serpentine body at least three times as long as Zas is tall that is almost like it's MADE of the water itself. It opens its mouth... and the mouth KEEPS opening, past where a Zora's normal mouth would be, teeth like some bastard mixture of a shark's and a snake's. It makes this... awful, hissing, gargling roar, halfway sounding like it's drowning, a clear liquid that's definitely not water dripping from its mouth.
