Welcome to Constanza, where everyone hopes you serious don't do that Sub-Edition
Last time on Horus Heresy G ScanAnon gave us an early Christmas gift, an user posted his chaplain, an edit was posted, talk on Lotra was made, a discussion on if Alpharius really died happened, a DAfag got some sense talked into him, Beakies everywhere and much more in the old thread Red Book Links:

FIRST FOR PRIMORDIAL TRUTH AND BEARD OF EVIL™!

>WE would fight to entertain crowds.
Hoo boy, that would certainly go over well with Angron

I just ordered another set of Umbra bolters and MKVI armour for my Iron Warriors.

>MkVI
>Iron Warriors

Absolutely disgusting.

Maybe don't make them gladiators but instead strongmen.
You mad Beakie.
There is a Beakie IW picture.

I see that the quad mortar has shell shock rule yet I cannot seem to find pinning anywhere, am I blind or did barrage weapons lose pinning?

Lorgar is a whiny bitch. But to be fair, my favourite Primarch is also a bit whiny at times. Or just arrogant.

But he's nothing compared to Erebus. Fuck Erebus.

Still, it doesn't seem right.

Show me pics of IW Beakies, then I shall decide.

Oh yeah?? I bet most IW players don't have armies comprised entirely of MKII either.

There's a picture of a pre-heresy Word Bearers beakie, too. As in emperor-worshipping Word Bearer beakie. Pre-Monarchia beakie.

Beakies are the true face of the Legiones Astartes.

see attachment

Fuck Erebus, ye.

I was going to but Beat me.

>Oh yeah?? I bet most IW players don't have armies comprised entirely of MKII either.
PLASTIC MKII AND MKIII WHEN?

Not enough hazard stripes/10.

I'm fine with the WB Beakie, but IW Beakie will never seem right to me. Now if I saw a nicely painted one, I'd probably change my mind.

I've heard that the box that will replace BaC will have MkIII. I just hope it doesn't actually replace BaC, as I'd like to get both boxes for my birthday.

>mfw I can't actually tell Mk II from Mk III at a glance
You'll keep my secret, won't you lads?

It's ok user, you're not the only one with ocular trouble.

No.

...

Mortarion is ruined for me. Ever since someone said he got rejected by Typhus in favour of Nurgle I can't help but see him standing sadly in the background as Typhus gets more and more blessings. Makes me laugh.

breachers, medusan immortals and phalanx warders are all dramatically overcosted.

Don't forget Assault mehreenz too. They should cost 200pts

IDK but I'm getting resin beakies for the running poses and backpacks even though it's probably the same cost or cheaper to just get the new plastic 40k Space Marine squads and then selling off the filthy MKVII.

The point is not the WB in a beakie, though, it's that it's literally 50 years before the Heresy and they have full-blown MKVI, which is inconsistent with other fluff.

Either way there are three justifications for IW in beakies:

1: Prototype armour handed out for testing purposes.

Perturabo wanted MKVI to fail because it was less durable - presumably proven by field tests. Some surviving examples would be fully feasible, possibly handed out to less promising recruits who weren't deserving of the generalist MKIV.

2: Salvage from dead Raven Guard at Istvaan V.

Self-explanatory. The Iron Warriors hammered into the Raven Guard backline and were presumably able to recover a great deal of munitions and equipment from their dead after the battle. Power armour is power armour, after all. It could also be stolen from loyalist stockpiles or intercepted shipments.

3: Produced during the traitor occupation of Mars.

Late-Heresy only but it was mentioned that the Dark Mechanicum produced MKVI for the Traitor Legions before and during the Siege of Terra. This is supposed to explain why the 40k Chaos Space Marines mostly come with MKVI legs.

On top of that, even if they disliked the MKVI for being less durable, it did have the improved sensors which makes a lot of sense for specialist teams and heavy support. Iron Warriors have preferences, but ultimately they're pragmatic enough to make the best of what they have.

On the table it's kind of a toss-up. If you look at them from behind they're fairly similar, from the front not so much. Really though, swap out the helmets and shoulders and most things can blend together when a bird's eye view is applied.

Posted a couple threads ago (or maybe last thread) about my blackshield chymeriae (+1 S/T) and thought that I might as well post my new list idea.

3x Blackshield Reaver Lord: 840 Points
>Artificer Armour
>Bike
>Iron Halo
>Cyber Familiar
>Master-Crafted Power Fist
>Lightning Claw
>Digital Lasers
>Rad Grenades

3x 10 Marauders: 765
>Power Fist
>2 Power Axes
>7 Heavy Chainswords

10 Outriders: 330 Points
>3 Power Axes
>Power Fist

2x 6 Outriders: 510 Points
>Meltabombs
>3 Power Axes

2445/2500 Points

Not a competitive list, simply wanted to make the biggest death star I could. Not sure what to do with the remaining points but by dropping rad grenades on two reaver lords I could get another 20 points. Main idea is that the death star kills the biggest things on the table, bikes kill vehicles and run interference, marauders capture objectives and charge things with their high number of S 6 attacks.

The bike death star should kill anything short of a primarch death star in a single turn (and even that is unlikely to survive long) with 13 Str 5 hammer of wrath hits, 18 str 5 I 3 attacks, 9 str 6 AP 2 attacks at I 1, and a whopping 24 str 10 AP 2 attacks at I 1. Rad grenades mean that even the hammer of wrath and regular attacks are still wounding marines on a 2+ and most primarchs on a 4+. The fact that they are T6 means even initiative AP 2 is going to have difficulty bringing them down and the reavers with a 3++ each will probably all live to punch shit to death.

For Guilliman's Armour of Reason it says that the first failed save of any phase may be rerolled.

My group has no Ultras players but in theory we would play it so the controlling player rolled their saves on at a time until one failed, then reroll that failed save. If the rerolled save was successful they would continue to roll them one at a time and continue to reroll until they actually failed.

My group likes Primarchs to be powerful as they should but I could easily see the argument for Guilliman only getting one reroll period per phase. I was wondering how you -the fine denizens of /HHG/- would play this rule.

>I bet most IW players don't have armies comprised entirely of MKII either.
>Not mixing up marks according to rank?
Elite vets get Mk IV
Regular dudes get Mk II
Anyone with hardened armour gets Mk III
Mk V is for blackshields with pariah armour
Mk VI is for Alpha Legion and Raven Guard pussies

>Mk V is for blackshields with pariah armour
>not for vets who want reliable and easy to repair gear

Mk V master race

>not mkIII for everybody worth a shit
>mk IV for the bitch ass recruits

Indeed.

>giving recruits the most advanced armor that takes a while to repair now that Horus has gone edgelord supreme
These armor mark fights are blinding.

its solid.

they are S9 instead of S10 though because of the modifier applying after the 2x, not that it makes much of a difference.

I could see Vets retaining their old MKII armours ("If it ain't broken don't fix it") and MKIV going to the newbies, but then again, MKIV exists because MkII was too worn down and its repairs consumed too much time.

Rad grenades make them effective strength 10 either way. Also where is it stated that that modifier is applied after weapons?

also mkII was artificer made, not mass produced

the strength bonus from option 1 is a straight addition to the models base stats, as in MEQs go to str 5 T5, anyone with a power fist taking option 1 would be str 5 base doubled to str 10 with the fist

>Also where is it stated that that modifier is applied after weapons?
40k rulebook. it says modifiers are applied after weapon buffs. thats why furious charge powerfists are only s9.

its where the whole s10 vs s9 thunder wolf cavalry arguments come up because people argue that it isnt a modifier because of the way the unit entry is written.

It was the Great Crusade, user. Even the marines were mass produced.
As in, even though MkII had microscopic components, it was still made by the thousands in forgeworlds. But it took too much effort, maybe that's what you're saying?

no its a modifier.

>But it took too much effort, maybe that's what you're saying?
Yes. MkV is objectively the best armor for the war of Horus Heresy.

>want to use the Fireblade's rules because they're almost objectively superior to Blade of the Laer
>don't want to build the model without Blade of the Laer because it looks amazing and any conversion will look like shit in comparison

What do, anons? Use the rules for Fireblade regardless and feel like WAAC scum? Use the rules for Blade of the Laer and cry myself to sleep whenever I face AdMech?

Dubs for truth?

There'd probably be some bitter veterans set in their ways who would refuse to ditch their MKII or MKIII - or simply not have access to it due being deployed at the ass end of the galaxy.

Likewise, while MKIV was being shipped out the fresh recruits would probably be clad in it, but as soon as infrastructure went to shit they'd go back to whatever could be locally produced, ie MKII/MKV.

MKIII has limitations, it is good in close quarters firefights and confined areas being essentially ghetto terminator armour, but outside of that it would be relatively uncommon. I'd imagine it to be more common with units starved of access to terminators, and less common with units closer to or favoured by the primarch.

MKV would be more common in units without any real logistical support, this could be any number of Iron Warriors enclaves or units mangled in the war.

MKVI is the most controversial but consider this: approximately 75,000 Raven Guard were killed at Istvaan V, large portions of which were equipped with MKVI. That means potentially thousands of MKVI armours could find their way into traitor ranks, including Iron Warriors, on top of whatever other prototypes and samples were floating around.

I just think beakies are cool, and Forge World providing some justification for me using it makes me feel good inside.

Behold, the Genevieve Rocha!

Basic dudes in MkIV, sneaky gits in MkIV, plebs in MkV, important people in terminator.

nah, fuck blanche

nah, fuck you

nah#2

Geneviève has a beard and Mohawk?
No. Blanche is better than all of this modern art we have.

What in the rules implies its a modifier that should apply after other bonuses, especially when compared to other rules, like gene crafted or abhuman helots in the Militia and cults list, and the WE inductii rules, all of which hand out base stat increases, Chymeriae rule just say "Bonuses and penalties", no mention of modifiers

I still use MkIV for my Alpha Legion because fuck MkVI. MkIII and MkIV are the face of the heresy to me.

Really don't understand why people love Blanche. Is it rose tinted glasses?

>What in the rules implies its a modifier that should apply after other bonuses
all modifiers apply after other bonuses, it says so in the 40k rulebook.

You can't oldfag forever.

it's better than this

That's fine. I'm taking about recent art.

>Miniguns should never shoot tracer rounds, it looks awful! :(
youtube.com/watch?v=QGE23Uykd1Y
And before you say it, the lowermost stream of bulltets doesn't come from a bolter, but from the LR in the back.
Although I'm not a fan of that pic either.

II has cyclops eyes and ribbed legs.

III is so fucking iconic I don't know what's wrong with you. Has a knight grill and riveted armor plate legs and everything.

Like this?
No but srsly, I don't like Blanche.
I simply don't like pics to be mostly red caricatures, but it's subjective, I guess.
I'd post that Bolter+Power sword Horus pic, but many would go on a seizure by seeing it.

...

...

user, stop! I just had lunch!

I'd have to take this over Blanche. I simply hate Blanche's artwork. It's awful.

Not that. Warzone Fernis, and the Tau update art.

I like his dreamlike quality, where it's less about capturing the picture perfect scenes of 40k and more the atmosphere and mood of the setting. It's like a mood board.

Of course I enjoy other stuff as well, but when it comes to just capturing the chaotic feel of 40k, I always go with Blance. Wayne England also made nice stuff.

Modern 40k art is just the miniatures in approved builds and colour schemes standing around and photoshop filters applied. There's really nothing else to it. It feels like a commercial for the stuff than visions of a nightmarish future (if you don't count the corporate hell that is GW).

blanche really is the best

The fact that I dislike Blanche doesn't blind me to the fact that the Tau art is moronic a lot of the time. And it's caused by GW and their lack of interest in it. Here, I can finally post this one.
Still, Kai Lim and Ukitakumuki do awesome stuff.

...

I don't think anything hes done has been "good", but his art looks like a nightmare or a fever dream, which captures the nightmare that is the 41st millennium in a way shit like this or this can't

Wayne England is the best. That nigga knew how to draw Khârn and a good skull. Also who drew the picture of Khârn from 2E?
It's good for fanart.

Is there absolutely anyone who likes Erebus?

I have to wonder if Blanche's art isn't based on his own fever dreams.

>captures the nightmare that is the 41st millennium in a way shit like this or this (You) can't
You realize that pic was so good the author actually changed the story to depict it? As in, it reflected 40k better than his story.
Beat that.

>Inferior race
>Posting anime
Son, I think you're a bit confused about the inferior race here.

...

on Veeky Forums

is over there

>Mfw people actually like anime

whats the fucking point of land raiders? their rules are shit and they cost almost as much as spartan

FW pls fix landraiders

I watched anime once

It made me realize Japan deserved a 3rd bomb

Well I'm going off for a while to work on some writefaggotry about Quid Fornax. I leave you nigmos a gift, and be sure to behave.

1. Who is this/sauce?

2. I have no idea who/what Quid Fornax is.

My friend is like his biggest fangirl. Meanwhile, my favourite is the armless failure. Such is life.

To make you buy a spartan user :)

srsly though, LR cost way too much in both 40k and 30k

Phobos should go up to 12 model capacity, so you can attach an IC to a 5 man termy squad and points cut to around 200ish

Proteus should also go to 12, and shouldn't be much more then 170ish points

It's my forge world that I have fluffed out more in one past thread. I don't have the sauce on me.

>My friend is like his biggest fangirl

but why?

I have no idea! I think she likes him for his smug dickishness.

That makes a lot of sense. I like the picture-perfect captures because I think they look cool but I would agree that they don't capture the nightmarish feeling of 40k.

Aye. This I second.

>Not taking an allied detachment of yet more Black Shields so you can 4 reaver lords of the apocalypse.
What the fuck user.

>gunna be one of 'em zoggin' dayz...

What the fuck is up with that combi plasma.
Look at where the clip is.

>not reconsigning the superiority of the rear-loading bolter
>Calling it a clip

you score a big fat 0

Fuck off. Bolters have never been bullpup and you know it.
GET FUUUCCCKKKEEEDDD

It's a bullpup combiweapon. Don't blame me, he had to make sense out of this thing. It's hillarious.

NIGGA SERIOUSLY, IT HAS BEEN AN OFFICIAL THING SINCE A LONG FUCKING TIME.

Here's the model, look closely at his combi-bolter

Wat

>what is Codex: Angels of Death

youtube.com/watch?v=yv6XFrQHthU

Which Legion theme would Requiem by Camille Saint-Säens be?

I can imagine a Blood Angel praetor listening to this

I want a Praetor on a bike. FW plz.

That there is what we would call a White Scar.
