So hand flamer on my sergeant (the one with the power sword) and storm bolter on my Captain (lightning claw)? I'm (obviously) very new to the hobby but when I was trying to ask what would be an ideal loadout for my units it kind of irritated people. I'm probably just going to buy another squad after I get some more money to spend. How much is this mystical box and what's the other army included?

Honestly keep your Sergeants cheep and cheerful with either Combi-X or Bolt Pistol/Power Weapon Sergeants you should kit out to be a CC beast so give him Lightning Claw Powerfist for a tried and true strategy

Death Company should ALWAYS be assault based the only reason I can think of to give them Bolters is Relentless, they jump in and fuck up a unit with power weapons and die horribly by a Russ

Daemons only care about the quantity of your attacks so DC should rip them easily, just what out for any larger daemons as they're most likely packing ap2, instant death.

I split the Dark Vengeance kit with a friend but he's holding on to the rule book. I kind of wanted my Sergeant to be nifty looking and have some powerful stuff so I guess I'll swap out the storm bolter for a pistol before I paint him. For my Captain are you suggesting powerfist and lightning claw? Cuz I don't think I have access to a right arm fist with what I have.

The way the arms are I'm not sure I can get a decent looking bolter and fist pose. I still have 2 DC squad models I can put together, I'll see what I can do. So far the only big motherfucker my friend has is a Great Unclean One (and by that I mean he accidentally bought an 8mm metal model and I find it hilarious)

Don't even bother Converting them, just run them as DA allies, it looks better and you already have enough in the box to do it.

If you want your guns to look more powerful try a greenstuff cape or a fancier base

There are websites that resell individual bits you should be able to get a powerfist from there the one I use is Bitzbox but if you search around you could probably get one for cheaper

Also for the love of god just get another DV rulebook of Ebay for a couple of quid

I was the one who suggested bolters. i see them as better than the bolt pistols as you can lay down enough rapid fire shots to pretty much make the 4 s4 hits per model worth it on the charge.
i personally reccomend for every 5 DC give at least one of them Power fist. Also give the guy with a powerfist a bolter instead of a pistol as the PF is a specialist weapon and can not get additional attacks from 2 melee weapons.i also personally like to give atleast another guy a PS and a bolt pistol just for some good AP2 at initiative 5 (if your using Baal Strike force that is)

I currently play GK, BA, and SW.

Stormtroopers look awesome but this Tempestus book is only really half a book.

One troop choice, no elites, no fast attack, no relics, no heavy support.

They just look cool, theyre too absurdly expensive to be a good choice no matter what the circumstances.
I will say their new formation is probably the best way to run them though. Run 4 squads, when they die just deep strike them back in. Super gimmicky and near worthless, but thats how bad Scions are.

They're drop pod commandos that don't have to pay for or paint a drop pod. Take two special weapons (four in a command squad) and hope they don't scatter too poorly. Choose your weapons to complement the rest of the army (though you'll probably be taking plasma or melta most of the time)

technically speaking you can buy taroxes and valkyries as fast attack chocies

The Golden Throne is very much biomechanical and it too has a soul. It doesn't keep the Emperor company, but it does have arteries which get taken down and new ones are added by chainsaw face wearing tech priests.

I supose it's just different tactics, I run mine with a Fist and 2 Swords It normally lets them munch through a Rhino then charge the Tac's inside

DC are designed for melee. The entire BA codex is not that great for range. Even +1S on charge isn't great. It's neat for mulching GEQ's, that's about it. Since you'll never get S10.

Go find a hobby lobby and buy one paint at a time using their coupons.

Hello Veeky Forums.
I need to put magnets on the bases of my minis for storage, because I'm being informed it's the best way to transport them.
Does anyone have a recomendation of size? I'm an ork player so lots of vehicles and infantry. I've got the citadel bases and some resin ones that don't have that dip, and I want to put the magnets on the minis because ammo cans are rad as hell.
