SPACE MARINE DLC TODAY EDITION

How can these devs keep pumping out such consistently awesome trailers edition.

Copypasta is still old unfortunately, newest archived version I found on google was from late March.

Man those ships look good

Damn that's a good trailer.

Space Marines patch supposedly in 1-2 hours.

>1-2 hours
>At work for 8 more hours

DAMN THIS WAGE SLAVE SYSTEM

SPACE MARINES DROP AT APPROX 5PM GMT

I'm looking forward to playing them but constant Marines vs Marines battles for the next few days is going to get old soon

Eh, just imagine it's the heresy or some such.

>Even the Fallen are offered a chance for redemption
>shows the Dark Angels
Top kek

>5PM GMT
That is in like 3 hours more for me!

When you are a manager you can play while at work. (Well when is not harvest season and you have bugger all to do till then)

Used to be able to game at work when I was doing contracting for CalFire - those were excellent days, where I got to sit around and wait for fires, doing fuckall for 10 hours a day.

In any case, I want to see what the favors for the SM are like.

NO. FALLEN. HERE.
END OF DISCUSSION!

...

I'm kinda curious what they're going to do for the Space Marine's Cruiser and Battlecruiser slots, since it basically goes Rapid Strike Vessel - Strike Cruiser - Nothing - Nothing - Battle Barge.

My guess? IN ships with modifications.

Looking at the trailer and the already in-game, mission specific strike cruisers, it appeared to me that the ones in the trailer had distinct differences in size and shape. I might be reading it wrong (and it might just be them finalizing the design), but they might just make it up as they go along and bullshit some cruisers and battlecruisers.

Maybe Strike cruiser spam

They might grab some of the ships from Battlefleet Bakka or the other supplements.

I mean, I wouldn't be adverse to some Armageddons, and the 20 strength weapons batteries of an Avenger would be hilarious to play with

>tfw forced to drop multiplayer after the beta

The campaign was glorious and I had a blast in beta, but I really hope I can actually connect to some games and not crash consistently when Space Marines arrive. Nothing sucks more than loving something that won't love you back.

Downloading the update now, SPACE MUHREENS!

My body is not ready!

What? What planet do you live on, it's not hit the hour yet.

Slow internet smdh

Yeah, just started working now. Must be all that porn I've got open in the other window.

The wonders of slow third world internet connections.

Nah, it's just my bastard brother playing Civ 5 downstairs.

How the fuck do I select the Space Marine fleet? It doesn't show up in the factions...

I'm curious if the Space Marines will be implemented in the current campaign instead of those placeholder ships we currently have.

Never mind, got it.

Any chance you could enlighten me? Cause I can't find it either.

It just appeared for me, no joke.

The favours look interesting, they each unlock a new crew member that boosts them even further.

The mutiny trigger might be fun as hell, since nobody levels their morale crew right now.

>finally off from work
Time for Wolfnar Wolvenfist to charge into battle

Are the Marines a bit feeble or do I just suck?

Word of the Emperor looks like it could be quite useful if you end up in super close quarters with Orks, especially if they just WAAAGH'd.

Is the standard Strike Cruiser the starting light cruiser class?

Why am I so shit at this game? I was master at SC2 but I can barely beat the campaign on easy?

Tell me your secrets Veeky Forums.

So the IN, at least, have lost the extra hull points upgrade but it's been replaced by the Imperial Assassin upgrade. Interesting.

SM have homing boarding torpedoes has an upgrade.
AP ammo does not apply to the bombardment cannon.
Ships have very low HP/Shield to compensate to how broken they are. Light cruiser only have 400 HP and 100 shield but are very fast with 225 speed.
Also pic related.

Nope, something called a Vanguard (three different kinds) that looks like a tiny battle-barge.

Battle Barge's bombardment cannons are sexy as fuck

The chance to trigger a mutiny on lightning strike does sound useful, but I'm gonna miss that 100HP.

Because for the first time you are playing a game that requires strategy and tactics.

Awww, it's adorable!

SM kinda feel weak

>Campaign
Nova Cannons everywhere, concentrate your fire, Pair up lance boats with macro battery ships, keep your ships close enough to support each other, When in doubt, Ram, and a Swarm of Swords can kill pretty much anything

Yeah, it was a nice little bonus but no huge loss. I could never find much use for my Dauntlesses but now if you combine the Space Marine favour with the extra lightning strike upgrade, imperial assassin upgrade and mezoa drives you get a great little assassin ship with decent resilience

Vanguard is just a lighter strike cruiser. It's existed for a while.

Probably will get a shitload stronger on higher levels, considering that their favors scale with crew level

If I'm reading this right, Master of the Forge can give up to 3 upgrade to a single ship, right?

Also bombardment cannon are a weaker version of the Ork Mega cannon with less crit chance, except you can actually use it since it has longer range and their ships are fast.

>Nova Cannons
lol

everything counts in large amounts

Not yet entirely sure if I should prioritize torpedoes, bombardment cannons or fighter bays

I've got one of each type of ship and I'm going to see which I like the best over the next few games

Bombardment cannon is dope against shields. Slow RoF though, and it's only mounted to the prow.

>SM’s favor are unique in the literal sense as in they are all 1 use favors meaning you can only use each favor on only 1 ship in your fleet

Copied from a thread on the steam forum. I guess that makes it more interesting because you are less inclined to just spam the same favor onto every ship

the cruisers get one with 270°

>you can finally set a ship behavior that is persistent
thank god, that was sorely needed

Whoever is in charge of aiming the Bombardment cannon has to be some sort of infiltraitor, only an Ork could be that bad a shot.

the homing torpedoes sound overpowered as shit for any mission where the target is immediately revealed to you
just bring a lot of ships with them and spam them to death from the get go

Ooh, which mark of strike cruiser should I pick?

>say glhf
>he thinks that means I'm going to let him warp out instead of sucking up that sweet renown

If you weren't typing so much, you probably would have done better.

SM are shit.

It makes sense lore-wise but having only 4 favours for your whole fleet is... not a lot?

"Oi! Chapta Masta! Dem Spikey Gits are Comin' Right at us! Want me to give em the Dakka?"

These SM light cruisers are incredibly underwhelming.
Can I just have my Dauntlesses back?

I'm making a new IN admiral just to get a match to compare how Dauntlesses go against SM LCs.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vanguard_Cruiser

Its basically a refitted Strike Cruiser made for a heavy escort role.

their ships are expensive though, so you won't field much anyway. also I think you are skipping one ship class and instead get 2 barges

Thunderhawks seem super powerful to me, I seem to get a critical damage almost every time

yeah, I'm crippling the shit out of my enemies. sadly, it's all temporary damage so I need to attack waves to make it count

Has anyone cheated the experience or something to see what kind of ship slots do SM have?
Ok light cruisers are Vanguards, Cruisers will be Strike Cruisers and Battleship will be Battlebarges
What do they have for big cruiser?

>mfw these boarding torpedoes
youtube.com/watch?v=unuadNjSbRw

>What do they have for big cruiser?
nothing according to some guy in the steam forums
instead they get two barges who are apparently also useful

they are so much fun
the whole map is just circling with torpedoes and the enemy can't go anywhere without being boarded
though I have to spend a lot of time on dodging them myself

They are overpowered.
>Launch homing torpedoes while enemy ship is behind me
>They fly in a large curve and head towards that enemy ship

Orks still as OP as before, I see.

>Nova Cannons

Haha oh wow, Orks lost belt armor in this patch. I think they've officially overtaken IN as the worst faction.

IN actually fuck me up with their mutiny lightning strikes

Does all of the 5 chapters have the same ships or are they aesthetically different?

Relevant patch notes, some changes to existing stuff and best feature is being able to preset ship behaviour instead of configuring it each battle.

Imperial Navy
A new upgrade, Imperial Assassin, which can trigger a mutiny with a Lightning Strike Assault Action, has been added to the Deck.

Chaos
A new upgrade, Chaos Space Marines, which Reduces the enemy troop value on Boardings and Lightning Strikes, has been added to the Deck.

Ork Pirates
A new upgrade, Weirdboy Tower, which adds a Zzap weapon on the Deck, has been added to the Deck. This weapon does not take the Zzap Upgrades, and fires at 3.000 units + 3.000 Units per Point in the Weirdboy Crew Member.

Eldar Corsairs
A new upgrade, Harlequin’s Masque, which Improves Troop Value while in Brace for Impact by 5, has been added to the Deck. The bonus can be improved by 5 per point in the Harlequin Crew Member.

Same ships, different colours. Also the shipyard screen looks different.

With two simultaneous attack rounds they destroy an ork escort. Come close, deliver the payload, get the fuck out till your shields are online again and your boarding parties and thunderhawks are rearmed.
Kinda like Eldar but less bullshitty.

>switch to orkz
>literally shit on every space marine I see
>encounter the odd other faction
>shit on them too because I'm orkz

>finally afford triple Traktor Kannon on my Ork Cruisers
>mfw fighting Chaos now and watching him burn his thrusters as I chain-pull him back and Zzap him to death

One of my ships hit level 8, got 1 last upgrade and 1 crew point. I might try the new Weirdboy tower for a free 6k Zzap gun. Though it doesn't get the upgrade bonusses I have, might still be worth it.

The official forums would have you believe that Ork players are fleeing en-masse due to the faction being shit.

I am firmly convinced that these people are, in fact, not smart enough to play Orks. Which is hilarious.

As someone who levelled up Orks after the big Kannon nerfs, the issue is that Orks are awful at low ship/admiral levels. They get kited very easily until you have multiple upgraded Zzaps and lots of Stasis Bombs, among other things.

I think 90% of my upgrades/crew choices have been to help me get to close range.

spam thunder hawks

Pacific Theatre tier spam

>tfw had a fleet wipe last match
>gonna use my shitty backup fleet and just hope the next match is quick
>opponent says fuck orkz and quits

Datz brutally kunnin, makin umies think dey iz gunna lose before dey lose

This.
Just set them on auto cast and your enemys ship will be on fire and broken everywhere.

>max out squadron sergeants
>thunderhawks have a 65% chance to ignore hits
>have to be hit twice to be destroyed
>every single ship in my fleet vomits out thunderhawks

First mp match fuckers is loosing, forces crash.
No level up

Been a while since I last played.
How do you play Ork in the current meta?
Zzap on everything?
I currently have Heavy Kannonz on everything, swapping everything for Zzap will cost me an arm.

Eavy kannonz still work, they just aren't that good against SM from what I've played so far. We don't have AP ammo anymore and they are heavily armored.
However, ramming and torps destroy SM scrubs.

You can't afford to have Kannonz or you have no chance to catch Chaos ships.

I don't really understand the point of the Thunderhawk Gunship upgrade? Is this an oversight by the devs? Because all Marine ships get Thunderhawks as standard

Taking fucking ages to get a game.

Just noticed that they removed taunt, how am I supposed to ram people now?

Armored Thunderhawk works as a bomber while vanilla works as a boarding craft I think. Also you have to waste another slot for fighter escorting.

they're bombers instead of assault boats.

>every new faction released has a terrible kite

Fighting SM is like Chaos during the beta. Just hiding in clouds waiting for them to get close, but this time everything has armor.

I wish there were some engine speed upgrades, or the navigator crew member would also boost speed by some amount.
