Think of a character based on an image/song

Actually, this is a thinly disguised "think of a character for me" thread, and you know it. But anyway, I'll start.

I used this theme at the end of short text game named "Women out of water = fishes will have it easier" (based on polish sentence: "Baba z wozu, koniom lżej", "Women out of cart, horses will have it easier", it sound better in native language) where heroes must resolve problem of "wicked siren" in poor village ("siren" was a female skrag).

At the end of the game there was epilogue-hint about next game. And Blumenkranz was a theme of two conspiring, mysterious elves that wanted to use "siren" and that was searching for something.

This song have something majestic and calm in it, and it greatly fit with cunning but proud and powerful characters hiding in darkness.

Huh.

this song gives me ideas for a paladin

Fire Lord Gwyn's theme from Dark Souls often makes me think of a battle in a snowy forest, a silent and graceful fight. I imagine either a sniper in the style of Simo Haya or a kind of wuxia swordsman/swordswoman

Tamale - tyler the creator

Ok let's mix it up here.

Hobo crystalmancer/alchemist is probably the easiest thing to think of.

>sniper duel
All my yes.

The other option for that song is fighting some fallen hero, someone you really don't want to have to fight but you know you can't let them live.

Would you run this as a PC?

Feel bad cause its similar to the original character the song applied to, and I'm applying it retroactively.

But the song reminds me a lot of a BBEG I made which was an adventurer Witch who saved the world with her party after my group TPK'd to the 4 Horsemen.
The next campaign was a sequel of it, and in the meantime she discovered lichdom and decided to shed the mortal coil. Not for pure power, but because she realized that combined with the power of the horsemen, she could keep everyone in a state of undead immortality, granting eternal life to the world in a backwards sense. She also grew paranoid of the divine, with entities like the Horsemen existing, and the gods merely allowing their rampant destruction, what makes them any different?

So she went about slaying her old comrades to take their shares of the Horsemens' powers and mixing it with her own lich magics. Quickly destroying towns and raising the populaces immediately thereafter with limited free-will. She will free them all after her work is completed, at least, so she thinks.

Prior to this, she was some poor outcast witch that got taken up by the party cause it wasn't like they were exactly friends with the law anyway. Even amongst them though, she still felt estranged from others, except the Wizard who also knew what it was like to command powers beyond comprehension. As their relationship blossomed, he essentially changed her alignment to CG. He is the final party member that she has yet to take power from, and she knows he will not give it willingly for her necromantic goals.

A really just AWFUL dwarven cleric/druid/warpriest. He really wants to be good and follow on the path to light, but he is too filled with EVERY kind of vice to do it properly. It's quite likely that he is nearly in a constant "fallen" state. Typically due to something alcohol or rage related.

Max out STR and CON as stats, ensure that WIS and CHA are in the gutter. Really more of a role-play character than anything remotely optimized.
Key component to the roleplay is to have "little moments", something genuinely nice and calming to him that lets him see the good in the world and how much he enjoys these small times that push him towards his priesthood. Then snapping back to bitter cynicism drowned out by beer and expressed by a holy fist to the jaw.
If a character ever genuinely tells you that you're doing the right thing, and that it is valued as such. You cry, because in that one moment, you proved to yourself that you're more than just a bitter, angry drunk.

>So yes I would play the hell out of this

For some reason I'm thinking like a ranger/rogue from the country

Pretty much the song for every fantasy based adventuring group.

And my own addition before knocking out
youtube.com/watch?v=BWQQYjjSuoo

An elven bard, used to be an escort in a big city until he got caught up in a conspiracy way bigger than his pay-grade called for. It was a great opportunity really, he always wanted to get away from the wild life of drugs, parties, and sex to something more simple, a wholesome life in the country side. Sure the most powerful members of society will be after his head, but they'll get bored of that eventually, it's not like he didn't pick up some high quality trafficking contacts in the meantime.

Then those goddamn adventurers found him.

Punishment from the gods perhaps, he got roped literally? into the party's grand quest and is constantly trying to escape them and live a simple life. Sadly fate has other plans, and if anything he seems to be getting closer to the heart of the conspiracy he's tried so desperately to leave behind.

More of a Lawful Evil, sort of hates anyone that wants to prevent him from living a simple life and will do anything to see them suffer and just leave him the hell alone.

>okay no wait I got 1 more
youtube.com/watch?v=PxYHJFC2oxg

An LG Rogue who felt that the paladin way just didn't fit his "style". He prefers to sit back and relax, observing the world as it goes by without it noticing him back.
Of course, sometimes certain people shouldn't have certain things, so he makes sure they "lose" them, and vice versa. Or he feels like sticking it to his old peers back at the Order, and giving the evil-doer one of his patented "holy smites".

It's certainly not evil at least, after all, who DOESN'T like a free surprise? The ticking noise? Details, details, just walk about 5 more paces in that direction and you'll be all okay!

Cocaine-fueled vet with an affinity for whispering quotes from 90's movies into his victims' ears when killing them.

That image is innacurate. Women cant be braves, chiefs, medicine men, or any other position that bestows the right to wear that head dress. Native Americans had clearly defined roles for the two sexes.
Yes, two sexes. There are only two, hermaphrodites notwithstanding

youtube.com/watch?v=80XAJKqRU9k

Makes me think of a master swordsman caught in a duel with an equally matched foe. Bursts of swordfighting followed by flights of acrobatics across rooftops. Maybe a dex based swordsman who learned to play music along the way or a colorful rogue a la Zoro.

Well shit, that's a pretty fantastic Paladin song.

If anything, I'm thinking pic related

youtube.com/watch?v=kHEX9EpIL7o

Sorry, can't think about anything else, the song pretty much get lodged in my memory right with the opening.

a lot of musically based paladins here

>A former assassin that tried to wash the blood from his hands by becoming a priest at an orphanage. But he was pulled back in when an old bloodthirsty rival showed up. Now he's out for revenge.

youtube.com/watch?v=SXpnI52cLEc

It's always an evenly matched slugfest, but I've always seen a young, maybe a bit foolish, warrior who's been through too much and seen too many of their friends fall, but is eager to fight if only as a means to end their own personal conflicts.

Also makes for bitchin' fight music, I have it in my EDH playlist and it never fails to get the homies hype.

Marachi paladins my friend. That is the only way to explain it. They are knights, worthy of note.

Looks like you're going to be playing a paladin OP. Anti-paladin perhaps? m.youtube.com/watch?v=MYSVMgRr6pw

>Paladins run on country

Demo?

I do the opposite and write song based on characters.

>there are only two, if you ignore the third
such logic

Kind of cheating, but my girlfriend played a vampire character a while back based on this.
youtube.com/watch?v=XxCZC5dF8D8
Basically, a young working girl enamoured by a passing lord, she approaches him in a stolen dress with a fake name. He sees through it obviously, but takes her away with him anyway, letting her play out her fantasy of being the fancy lady and twisting her around his little finger all the while. He plays cruel games with her, eventually bringing her back to her home town and pushing her to kill a childhood friend of hers (I think?) with promises of immortality. Turns out, he was a vampire. He turns her after the act, and abandons her to the whims of the town with a laugh. She rises and is quickly cornered, but is saved by a blacksmith's son (another player in the game, about twenty-five years before the game canon started), who swiftly regrets his decision when she set the town alight and flees the flames. Thus begins the hunt for her sire/the game's main villain.
