Marine Tactica underway.

IF IT AINT ORK, IT AINT GORK'N'MORK

Bump-a
Lump-a

I ordered a couple recast Imperial cruisers to add to my fleet /bfgg/. Here's some fun if you like; decide the class and name of each. They're from Battlefleet Koronus.

Vidi Vici Veni
Irritable Bow
Emperor's Plywood

So what would you guys recommend for my Cruiser slots for a Chaos carrier-based fleet?

Would a Carnage or a Slaughter make a better brawler to cover my other carrier ships? Or should I just go all in with Devastations for maximum BEES?

If you're going Bees, you might as well go for MAXIMUM BEES!

Your Last Hope
Golden Liver
Hold Over From Last Century

Get brawlers on cruiser slots so you can use them against other chaos players. With nurgle they can even go up against IN.

What do the favours on the space marine fleet do? What ships are they best on?

Master of forge gives +4 upgrades and chapter master -15 to enemy troop value. Put them on the battlebarges. The other two might as well not exist for how shitty they are.

Which brawlers would you recommend though? I know the Murder is supposed to be pretty garbage, but both the Carnage and Slaughter seem to have their strong points.

Slaughter for the higher speed and lances, and Carnage just for sheer volume of fire.

>when your ally warps out without giving you a heads up

Both are perfectly ok. Get one each and see which one you prefer.

I just got this gem of butt hurt

Playing with 3 Shadows, you know the non pulsar and with stargarbage cannons.

>Get close like an idiot.
>Make comment about Bombardment cannon ignores holofields.
>Shadow dies after 2 shots.
>The fucker bitches and looses two battle barge against 2 Shadows...

I had to BM

well do you have more trouble with orks, marines, eldar or imperials? the slaughter is great against imperials and marines, but the carnage was meant to chew up eldar fleets and does a good number to orks as well, capable of blasting them at range or getting in close with ap macros. it's slower however and tends to suffer against well shielded or armored ships.

>chief librarian forces mutiny at -40% to regular insubordination chance
>useless

>not assblasting heretic and xeno admirals with Librarian Levarian Burtonicus

Getting tears as the Eldar is so enjoyable. Moreso than any other faction.

Wouldn't Levarian Burtonicus be Master of the Forge?

>tfw men of iron with feline familiars are heretical

Worst is when they want to throw the game but don't tell you.

But you get so many of them it dulls the taste.
Carrier Muhreens are my new favourite salt extractor.

If you want to stay fluffy to Passage Watch 27-Est "Battlefleet Koronus:
>Mars class "Gryphon"
>Overlord class "Stormwind"
>Tyrant class "Drake"
>Dictator class "Warspite"
>Lunar class "Hand of Redemtion"
>Lunar class "Siris" (served at the battle of Gethsemane)
>Gothic class "Gethsemane" (paired with the Siris because naval command thought it was funny)
>Defiant class "Hawk"
>Dauntless class "Swiftsure"
and escorts wise if you get some later:
>Cobra Destroyer squadron "Wrath of Saint Drusis"
>Sword class squadron "Triumph"

>Dictator class "Warspite"
Not that user, but nice.

My fave, but I didn't pick the names. Those are actual ships in that fleet.

If you expand it to Battlefleet Calixis (which 27-Est is actually part of) you get things like:
>Retribution class "Fist of Adamant"
>Apocalypse class "Tempest's Child"
>Avenger class "Fire of Heaven"
>Mars class "Chariot of Wrath"
>Overlord class "Bellicose"
>Endeavor class "Intractable"
>Endurance class "Intemperate"
Just to name a few fun ones

Rogue Trader?

Running RT games has got me to bust out my old IN models and buy my friends Eldar fleet he no longer wanted (Shadow, 2x Auroras, 2x Helbores, 3x Nightshades, and 3x Hemlocks for $90).

Been buying recasts from chinaman and now have about 500 points worth of chaos for pirates and a few orks eacorts.

Trying to think of a good base to kitbash Rak'Gol ships.

The Carnage isn't as good a brawler as the Slaughter, it's for long range macro-batteries to keep those void shields down. In terms of raw dps, the Slaughter beats the Carnage by a fair margin, and that's even before taking lance armor reduction and accuracy into account.

Ultima Ratio Regum

Bonus points if the captain's name is Richelieu and the ship has a Nova cannon.

So how are the Space Marines?

Breddy gud.
>Shitloads of armor, but jack all shields and health
>Boarding torpedoes that home in on target as long as they aren't invisible or undetected

Weird. Ordinance heavy, good boarding, thick armor, fast, and expensive. They seem to be about zooming in, doing their boarding stuff, and zooming away before the other guy can take advantage of the fact that he outnumbers them two to one, or three to one if he's orks.

Fun. They have several playstyles, all of which end with a close range Imperial Fisting. They're like Orkz but more agile and with an even greater focus on spamming assault actions. Good lance ships as well.

I disagree with the brawling.
They have atrocious weaponry, except for those fore mentioned lance ships lance part, but beyond that, they have significantly less cannons per side than the Imperium or even chaos.

True, hence why I said 'end with brawling' rather than brawl all the way. It's all about crippling the enemy from range before you close in for some astartes-on-poor-misguided-fools action.

>playing skirmish with Spess Muhreens
>finally obtain 1st Battle Barge
>vs orks
>3 vs 9
>lost 1 vanguard which I order to warp out, might have rammed to death
>kept spamming boarding torps on BB and strike cruiser
>use BB to ram the shit out of smaller ships
>BB brawl since it can ran away
>win
What the fuck

The Battle Barge is a monster and a beast at brawling. At least for what i have played

>start a new IN admiral with all the changes
>level 6
>Cruiser Clash vs Muhreens.
>all right then
>It's a battleship and two CLs.
>The barge is called the AAS Litany of Fuck You and has ten upgrades.
>TEN. UPGRADES.
>Dispose of the cruisers, lose Lunar-senpai and all of my escorts in the process.
>Litany of Fuck You has assumed position to fire everything.
>Overlord gets boarded so many times that 'boarding action success' messages flash above its burning wreck for another minute.
>Gets aftblasted with bombardment cannons anyway.
>Have a Tyrant vs that monster.
>Lose as soon as said monster is ready to go again.

Fucking Dark Angels, this is exactly why everyone thinks you're closet heretics.

WE. ARE. NOT!

Also, the reason why it had 10 upgrades is probably due to their favors.

You see, space marines have the strongest favors ever, but they can only use one per ship.
I don't have the list on my unfortunately, but here's a pic of a battle barge with the chapter master aboard.

I know it's not cheating, but holy shit was that ship strong.

>One per ship
i meant to say "They can only use one favor of same kind at all".

Yeah, you most likely fought against the forge master piloted ship, so it has basically as many upgrade slots as there are points put on the forge master (3 at max) plus it gives couple slots for simply existing and then there are the slots the battleship class ship already has.

Is it possible to remove a favor in a SM ship?

My curiosity got the best of me and slapped tech marine on a strike cruiser

I haven't played BFGA for a while now but I'm confused as to what the different space marine factions you select at the start do.

Nothing beyond determining your colour scheme, shipyard background, and namelists.

Oh really? Well I guess it makes sense.
Imperial Fists here I come!

Patrician taste, that.
Though I'm kind of annoyed that Black Templars will only get in alongside Tau.

Well satan, i am not certain.
Perhaps if you slapped another one on its place?

> tfw you love the Murder in fluff and aesthetically, but the prow lances' DPS is absolute trash, and it isn't as fast as the Slaughter.

A-At least there's the Hades to mildly make up for its glaring negatives.

At least you didn't put Mephiston on a light cruiser like me

Tell me your secrets.

SM are not clicking for me

Why are SM so vulnerable to IN? I've been steamrolling them constantly.

>More guns
>More health and shields with less armor over all
>More torpedoes on battleship
>More ships have lances
>Battle cruisers and Retribution have turreted lances
Some off the top of my head.

It's all about picking the right moment to engage. What you do is spam thunderhawks at the outliers until you kill the escorts and cripple the most threatening ships, then when they complain you're kiting instead of fighting like a man, you start fighting like a man and give them some good ol' ultraviolence. The main thing is to know when you've kited and hit-and-ran enough to have the advantage in the brawl.

Also, don't underestimate the two less OP favours. Chaplain is fabulous for both data recovery and assassination defense, and the mutiny test from the Librarian will, among other things, slap a -10 troop value on a ship if the mutiny goes off. Spread it around before you commit to the brawl, it'll make all those -10 muhreen assault actions land a lot more.

also
>Mars and Emperor have fighter bays
>AP ammo

Since they removed the taunt. Could they now remove the fucking annoying bombs?

BAMBARDMENT cannons or prow lances for mehreens?

cannons for that delicious crit rate

On CLs? Cannons. On everything else you get cannons anyway.

Bombardement cannon has insane crit chance and does neat damage.
Lances are AP.

cannons are turrets while lances are prow
That's what makes them better for me.

For me Lances tend to be great thanks to most of the enemies being SMs.

And it ignores holofield as I discover.

What are the essential upgrades for mehreens and what ships should you avoid?

Ah salt.

He then forced a crash booting me to the main menu without any exp.

belt armor, +100 shields just like everybody else

>shields on muhreens

Orks have reason to bitch, they're the worst faction in the game currently.
Nobody's forcing him to play that shit faction though.

>not having shields to tanks all those AP lance barrages

>100 more shields makes you magically resistant to lances

They are? Why?

I never felt them bieng shit.

It's +200 because it's more likely than not that the shields will recharge at least once. That's like 25% more survivability for a light cruiser which is much more than any other upgrade gives you.

That 100 extra shields saves you 75 hull points from lance damage which will absorb extra 200 damage from macros.

>Their guns never hit and have no armor piercing ability at all
>Ships take more damage from crit effects
>Slowest ships in the game
>Worst bombers in the game
>Speed upgrade makes you crit your engines
>Nova cannon favor makes your entire bow blow up

and others. The devs even said the nerfed the too hard.

They got reduced point costs recently. You can take retarded amount of ships now outnumbering them 3:2 at least.

>let me double the actual numbers so it looks viable on the smallest line ship

They do have the most broken lances, but they need upgrades.

Most of the problems with mp would be solve if everyone had level 10 ships.

Suggestions for third SM cruiser? Got two Mk2 going for boarding and more boarding.

>He then forced a crash
So much salt is unhealthy, doesn't he know?
On a vanguard you practically double your shield. On bigger class I personally like voss pattern for that 25% ignore hits. Shield recharge becomes a good option then.
>The devs even said the nerfed the too hard.
They acknowledge it, there's hope for a buff on orks in the future.
If only GW could do the same for 40k orks

It's by far the best survivability upgrade. The numbers aren't that inflated. The upgrade is still good on battleships with 400 base shield because you can take shield recharge skill on them to make the extra shield much better.

Recharge and voss are both good. Slap both on a BB along with the recharge skill and laugh at lances.

>if I repeat it again and say doubling the numbers is not inflating them, it'll make it true

These two things together make Ork gameplay boil down to "Spam as many Zzaps as possible" and literally nothing else is viable. It's abysmal.

>I'll just keep dismissing the arguments without giving any valid reasons when multiple people int he thread agreed that shields are perfectly viable and useful on SM ships.

That and stasis bombs on every ship. Mass Traktor upgrades are almost compulsory too.

i fucking hate this thread. I have two fleets ready to be painted but every time i go to this thread to talk with kinsmen i see this /v/ shit and it ticks me of. Lets get physical and post some sexy space ships

FUCK

Get with the times old man. This thread wouldn't even exist if not for the video game.

Post your fucking ships the faglad

I have Chaos, Eldar, Space Marine, Imperial Navy, and Tyranid fleets, ranging from 500 to 2500 points and absolutely nobody to play with.

Got a two warhammer battle army, one for 40k back then
Threw everything when I saw you'll end up playing with shit people mostly, because people = shit basically.
Now I play Mordheim,BGA or Total war:W,in hope that W and W40K get a /v/ adaptation soon.

Been 8 years approx, seem like I'm still gonna wait

The things i would do to you in my mini van.
cant be bothered since most are sealed as received from miranda. Just painted the escort ships but i need a new primer. Also great help by posting an image yourself goddamn newfag. Found an old image of my tyranids which are now assembled with greenstuff and need to be primed
Sorry to hear that, move to France? Also what kind of tyranid fleet you have? I am kinda on the fence as to what i want to build.

>big blobs of modeling clay

>utter shit post
>no original summer
I guess it has been summer time for a couple of years now.

>Mfw I'm not sure if this man is a genius or a retard

>Also what kind of tyranid fleet you have?
Erm... 2 Forgeworld hive ships, 3 FW cruisers, and lots of proxies for the smaller stuff. Haven't played the fleet in something like 11 years, and it's been sitting in a box since 2008.

Speaking of TT, what's a good IN complement to a Daemonhunter inquisitorial cruiser and two GK strike cruisers?

I hate when people force the menu.

When will the devs patch that fucking thing and punish those bastard. Like I don't know remove all their renown, all their favours, skills and upgrades.

So they have to grind the fuck back.

Is a Brawler Barge a viable option?
Besides the obvious slap the tech marine so it get lots of upgrades.

What's that? So far, I only got fun, intelligent people as opponents.

I'm going to share the salt. There is a Particular guy that constantly crashes to main menu when loosing.

Here we can see an educated player.

Sure Orkz got nerf a lot, but really he bitches because he can't adapt?
