In fairness, the drow he's just defeated there is actually just a polymorphed and untrained goblin. I can't actually recall any other point where he's at all edgy or tryhard.

Really, I think Drizz't as an actual character is fairly inoffensive, even if he is overly angsty at times. The big problem is all the awful, awful snowflakes that have tried to copy him as a power fantasy.
