So it begins
It's very late when you arrive back in the village. You doubt many people are still awake at this hour, so you decide to leave the reunions for tomorrow. You head back to the restaurant, and find it just the same as when you left it. This is the longest you'd ever been away, and it feels good to finally be back home.
It's closed for business by now, and the door is locked. But it shouldn't be so late that your uncle has been asleep for long if at all, so you go ahead and knock on the door. After waiting a few moments, the door cracks open a bit, and you see your uncle looking out at you.
"Kon?" he gasps, throwing the door open. "You're back! Oh, it's so good to see you again. Looking like even more of a man, at that. How was your vacation, huh? Have yourself a good time?"
Your uncle ushers you inside from the cold, and sits you down as he makes a quick snack.
"I had a great time, Uncle." you assure. "Sorry for showing up so late, though."
"Nonsense, it's no trouble! This is your home, and you can come and go at any time you please!" your uncle assures, laying out a dish for you. "Now, you must be hungry! Eat up!"
You chat with your uncle as you eat, telling him all about your time training, as he tells you about how great both life and his business have been doing.
"That may have been a vacation, but it sounds like you were working hard to improve relations between the villages." your uncle notes, as you finish eating. "You never do seem to rest, do you, Kon? Well, I'm sure you'll want to spend tomorrow catching up with your friends. You may just be surprised by something."
You head up to sleep in your own bed for the first night in a long while, and sleep as soundly as you ever have. Morning comes before you know it, and after breakfast with your uncle, you're ready to head out.
