Welcome everyone, new and old players alike! This is Tundra civ, a civ thread series in a fictional, non-fantasy setting where you play as the rulers of the White Republic, a nation in a world similar to our own. Check out the pastebin for story, technologies, stats etc pastebin.com/t7gWa2pa And an archive of previous threads if you want to skim through some of them. archive.4plebs.org/_/search/boards/pol.tg/subject/Civ/username/Civ bulgar/page/1/ Previously on Tundra civ: Technology has progressed to a level roughly equivalent of Earth's early 1980s. A major international crisis occured when the Pajashian archipelago rebelled from the NPU and became a host of terrorists and pirates - swift action came from the White Republic. Intense aerial campaigns eventually led to our forces securing what was left from the archipelago, devastated by a variety of modern weaponry. The crisis only deepend when the Republic announced it will not be returning the islands to their original owner, the NPU. The election of the Veitan Congressman Rog Boul as president in 1219 led to an improvement in international trade and a reduction in tensions as our military presence in the Paj Ocean was limited. It is now the year 1221 After the Exile.

Learning to use Photoshop now. Here's a really rough map of the Paj Ocean to give an idea of positioning, since it's an area not covered in the world map. When I start my fantasy civ quest on /qst/ sometime in the near future I'll be using Photoshop for maps and shit probably. I've got a concept for the world and its continents and most of the starting lore and races, now I need to figure out how to make the mechanics I have planned - while in Tundra civ players sort of take the role of the ruling senators of the nation and such, the fantasy civ would have players be members/leaders of various factions within our civilization that can work together or against each other, vying for prestige, influence, wealth and jointly guiding the civilization's progression.

We'll be investing more money into our navy, but how shall we direct that? A.Focus on keeping our equipment up-to-date and our forces ready B.Expand our fleets and the technology we employ(higher spending) C.Undergo great naval reforms to secure our naval superiority, building ships and navy bases(greatest expense)

We've expanded the Navy's budget, commisioning the construction of more ships - our navy must now have at least 10 operational aircraft carriers. We've introduced more modern technology and have begun developing stealth technology for our ships and submarines based on the stealth subs the Spirelords used in the war. In other news, the Axis Space Station is now operational and in low orbit around Terra Nova!

The technocrats won a lot of seats in the midterm elections in 1222 for Congress and Council, allowing them to pass the General Technological Advancment bill - the government gives interest-free loans to companies that purchase production-boosting industrial equipment and such.

The discovery of new oil deposits in Veita and Aymsland and a generally positive economic development have given more opportunities to our national industries. President Boul has negotiated better trade deals and we're now in a net trade surplus towards the rest of the world. Population growth is still riding the post-war baby boom.

Sports and tournaments and also propaganda :DD
The revival of the Grand Tournament has been announced - a great festival of sports competitions in which all nations across the world participate. Traditionally the main focus has been martial sports. The new tournament will include a wider variety of disciplines from athletic and non-athletic fields as well. The next Summer Tournament will take place in one year - 1224 - Victory City will be the host and our sports teams will aim to live up to the name! >Population:189 000 000 (80% white, 14 % chink,1%hibibi, 4%darkskin,1% pacharnati) >Colonials: 17 700 000 Eyerdar 17 200 000 Veita 18 000 000 Ocras >Agriculture:9/10 >Resources:9/10 >Manufacturing:9/10 >Trade and services:10/10 >Treasury:8/10 >Political stability:9/10

37.66 The GT was going smoothly for two weeks until a series of terrorist attacks shocked the world. Athletes from Aymsland were attacked and held hostage and a transport jet was hijacked - the hijacked jet had to be shot down by our airforce, as it was not responding to hails and was on collision course with Victory City. The terrorists who attacked the athletes were eventually dealt with - they were survivors from the conquest of the Pajashian islands and their demands were the return of the archipelago to its natives. The GT continued as normal after this crisis was dealt with, but the memory of it was soured. >Population:189 000 000 (80% white, 14 % chink,1%hibibi, 4%darkskin,1% pacharnati) >Colonials: 17 700 000 Eyerdar 17 200 000 Veita 18 000 000 Ocras >Agriculture:9/10 >Resources:9/10 >Manufacturing:9/10 >Trade and services:10/10 >Treasury:8/10 >Political stability:7/10

A special counter-terrorism taskforce has been formed as part of the government's internal security forces. Central Operations for the Neutralisation of Terrorist and Rebel Activities (CONTRA) will see its first action now in Operation Thunderstruck. Roll twice for CONTRA and twice for the terrorists
Since there's no other posts, I'll take those 61 vs 56
CONTRA has been successful in tracing the terrorists to a hideout near Widewater. We've eliminated the physical threat, but the logistics behind their operations are still being investigated. youtube.com/watch?v=MEtAwV0kSsk A&C The arts are flourishing in a peaceful world - music and cinema are the most popular nowadays. Various regions have their own specifics - the darkskins in Northeast Aymsland for instance have a distinct style they call "Rap" Chinks and whites enjoy a variety of music styles, ranging from classical orchestras to modern rock and metal styles. The Faith also has a part to play, preserving the artwork of the past and its techniques, tutoring painters and sculptors. In literature, popular genres are fantasy, romance, thriller and sci-fi - the people dream of a great future for our world! >Population:189 000 000 (80% white, 14 % chink,1%hibibi, 4%darkskin,1% pacharnati) >Colonials: 17 700 000 Eyerdar 17 200 000 Veita 18 000 000 Ocras >Agriculture:9/10 >Resources:9/10 >Manufacturing:9/10 >Trade and services:9/10 >Treasury:9/10 >Political stability:9/10

SCIENCE time In recent years, the private sector has made advances in technology without the government's help - the first laptops are commercialy available, pharmacies offer better medicines, VHS tapes and CD-ROMs,disposable cameras and even the first cell phones - if it can sell, someone will make it work. Space exploration has been focused on sending rovers to planets in our (Argosa) system and maintaining the Space Station. What project(s) should the government focus on in particular? Pick 1 or 2 A.Industrial tech(robotics, construction, metallurgy, mechanics etc.) B.Computing C.Power generation D.Space exploration E.Transportation F.Military technology G.Other
A & D Robotics are advancing - the first android robots have been built. Studying Spirelord technology, we've even further improved our metallurgical capabilities and are able to build alloys that are highly resistant and useful to our space programs and our military. What should we focus the RSEA's efforts on, though? A.Build a second space station B.Improve space travel capabilities C.Work on setting up long-term extraterestrial habitats

B.Improve space travel capabilities

We've expanded our spaceflight capabilities through the reusable Space Shuttle we've recently completed. Research into better means of travel continues - conventional rocket engines can only get us so far and we are now trying to figure out how exactly the Spirelords' spaceships work, as they also had some sort of propulsion systems that did not require the use of internal combustion. The goal would be achieving warp travel capabilities - we know that is how the original colonies came to this moon from humanity's homeplanet, Earth, over 1700 years ago. >Population:200 000 000 (80% white, 14 % chink,1%hibibi, 4%darkskin,1% pacharnati) >Colonials: 19 300 000 Eyerdar 18 200 000 Veita 19 000 000 Ocras >Agriculture:9/10 >Resources:9/10 >Manufacturing:10/10 >Trade and services:9/10 >Treasury:9/10 >Political stability:9/10
