>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirteen year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Woo

As soon as you open you're eyes, it's back to trying to get that water.

Your quick round trip of the tower showed you that your speed has increased immensely, but you still can't catch Korin. Each time you try, he manages to slip away, hinting that he was probably holding back yesterday.

Goku's up and at 'em pretty early as well, and the two of you continue to work together in an effort to outsmart the cat or catch him off-guard.

Two heads are usually better than one, but not if the one head is smarter than the two. Korin outwits the two of you each time, to the point where it kind of becomes infuriating. It's already been more than a day, Tao could be back at any time.

Yet, this cat still refuses to give you the water.

The Afterimage technique hasn't helped you get the water yet, but you suppose seeing how far you can push it might be worthwhile.

You rush toward Korin, jumping and kicking leaving an Afterimage behind.

"Come on, kid, you're becoming way too predictable," he tells you.

Korin immediately glances over his shoulder, spotting the second Afterimage, then to his left to spot the third. He looks to his right, giving a grunt when he sees a fourth Afterimage.

Spinning, he smacks you in the head with his staff as you try to attack from behind.

"You're getting better, kid," he compliments. "But using the same tricks won't work on me, no matter how good you get at them."

You fall back, rubbing your head as Goku launches himself from across the Lookout using a Kamehameha Wave, resulting in Korin moving out of the way and Goku going flying over the edge.

Korin walks to the railing, shaking his head.

"You two have talent," Korin tells you. "But you aren't seeing the simple way to beat me."

He sighs, slumping his shoulders. "At this rate, it could take a while."

Som, I did see this episode, and I know what it is we're actually suppose to do.

"Can I have another hint?" you ask Korin.

He stands up straight, turns to you, then sighs, slumping his shoulders again. "That's your hint, kid. Now, are you going to try again, or are you gonna wait for Goku to climb back up?"

No, you tried that already

user, you actually have to guess

That's an option

Wait for Goku

Infact, I think we should start our day with a jog. Goku and Tofoo should run up and down the tower twice each. Then try to get the Water. Then Lunch. Then another two times up and down the tower. Then trying to get the water again. Then dinner and repeat running up and down the tower and trying to get the water until bed.

Perfect Cell would make a very snide comment about that

Jesus. user

Not bad

That's a pretty good schedule, I'd vote for it.

"Do we need to pay attention to how you're moving to find out what you're going to do next?" you ask him.

"That's part of it," Korin confirms. "You're getting very close."

"Does it have something to do with your breathing?" you ask.

The cat chuckles, playing with one of his whiskers. "Now, you're getting it kid. Let's see if you've really figured it out."

>A. Keep trying, pay specific attention to his breathing

>B. Go check on Goku
And tell him we figured out the hint

>We're not Vegeta, that wouldn't piss us off.

Shit, I have no Goku button.

You are pretty much Goku's rival.

"I'll be right back," you tell Korin. "I need to check on Goku."

You leap down from the tower, climbing down as fast as you can, running into Goku a few minutes later.

"Hi!" He greets.

You tell him that you've figured out how to get the water from Korin.

"How?" he asks.

You explain to him that you need to pay attention to his breathing, and that doing that will let you predict his movements.

Goku doesn't seem to entirely understand how watching his breathing will help, and it does sound just a bit strange to you, too, but as the two of you climb back up, you decide to adopt that strategy.

"Welcome back," Korin says, sitting in front of a table in the lower room with his back turned to you. "So, you gonna try again?"

>A. Try to grab the water, and keep an eye on his breathing

>B. Tell Korin you learned your lesson, and ask for the water

>C. Something else
Get in sync with his breathing. Copy him. Become a copy cat.

No, we are surrogate Krillin.

Just copying his moves will keep you constantly one step behind him

No, Krillin is still Krillin. You've actually managed to surpass Goku in the past

You now know what you have to do.

Moving toward Korin, you try to snatch the water again, only for Korin to lean out of the way, causing you to miss. You take note of his breath prior to and during that movement.

You can tell that Goku's doing the same. He has a look of intense concentration on his face. So, knowing Goku, he'll get this sooner or later. The question is, which one of you will get the water first?

The two of you keep at it for a while, gradually coming closer and closer to grabbing the water. Korin is forced to get up and start actually moving around in order to keep you from taking the bottle, and you take that as a good sign.

For the remainder of the day, you and Goku chase Korin up and down his tower, getting closer and closer to taking the bottle with each passing hour.

However, night soon falls, and Korin declares that it's time for bed.

The cat heads downstairs, climbing into his bed and curling up.

Goku lies down, but keeps a close eye on Korin.

>A. Try to take the bottle while Korin sleeps

>B. Spend the night watching Korin's breathing

But then stop right before grabbing it and be all "Nah, I'll do it fair." before
>>C. Spend the night copying Korin's breath and movements

>C. Spend the night copying Korin's breath and movements

For a split second, you consider attempting to take the water while Korin's asleep, but dismiss it immediately, instead lying down and watching the cat.

You take care to pay the greatest attention to his breathing, as well as his movements. When he yawns, you yawn. When he stretches, you stretch. When he rolls over, so do you.

Goku has the same idea, and you imagine that to an outside observer, it would be an amusing sight. All through the night, you do as Korin does.

When the sun rises on the third day, Korin leads you and Goku up top.

"Today is the day, Korin," Goku declares with confidence. "We're getting that water!"

"We'll see," Korin responds. "I've heard that one before."

You're confident that between you and Goku, getting the water should be pretty simple. The question is, who will get it first.

...

You and Goku are going to get the water, but you're determined to get it first.

The two of you rush toward Korin, with Goku diving at the cat, who leaps into the air to avoid him. This gives you an opening, and you rush in, kicking Korin in the chest.

He backflips landing on the railing, diving behind Goku as the spikey-haired kid comes running. Goku bounces himself off the rail, and reaches for Korin's tail. The cat manages to pull his tail out of the way at the last second, narrowly avoiding being caught.

But, distracted and panicked by Goku's attempts, he leaves himself wide open, and as he flies past, you hop up and grab the bottle, removing it from the staff.

"We did it!" Goku says happily as Korin lands a few feet away.

"Yep, you sure did," Korin confirms. "Now drink up, kids."

You open the bottle, gulping down half before passing it to Goku.

It's quite refreshing, but you don't really feel any different.

The water's just regular ol' water but we had to run up and down the tower and chase Korin to get it, didn't we

I think we should run up and down the tower a few more times until it kicks in.

I like this idea. We should Korin if he has anything heavy we can wear.

>D. Something else
"Was this one of those, its trying to get the prize that's the real prize?"

You tell Korin you don't feel any different.

"Maybe I should try running up and down the tower a few times until it kicks in," you suggest.

"That won't be necessary, kid," Korin tells you. "You aren't supposed to feel any different. You drank regular tap water."

"Tap water?!" Goku asks in shock. "Then where's the real water?"

"That is the real water," Korin explains. "Listen, some believe that if you climb my tower you get power for free. They think that the climb's some big test. The truth is, the climb just exists to see who's worth my time. From running up and down the tower, you two have gotten stronger. From chasing me around all day, you've gotten faster. And, by learning to anticipate my movements, your minds have gotten sharper. There was no mystic water, but your strength's increased dramatically over the past three days."

He looks between you and Goku. "You're ready to face Tao."

RNGesus hasn't abandoned us yet

"Thanks for the help," you tell Korin.

"I didn't do anything but play keep-away," Korin tells you. "You two earned your increased strength. I wish you both the best."

Before you go, you ask Tao if you could have some Senzu Beans.

The cat plays with one of his whiskers. "I don't usually give these away, but I like you kids, so here, you can each have one."

He walks downstairs, grabbing some beans from a large pot and tossing two. You catch one, and Goku catches the other.

"Use them well, boys," Korin tells you. "And don't come back expecting more."

Goku makes sure the pouch with his Grandpa's Dragonball is securely fastened to his belt, then looks over at you.

"Right, let's do this," he says.

The two of you race down the tower, a process that is far quicker than climbing up it. This time, you're the one in the lead.

You aren't sure how much time passes, but you hear yelling as you reach the bottom.

As you pass through the clouds, you see that Tao has returned. He is holding on to Bora's spear, and, despite using only two fingers, his grip is so strong that Bora cannot free his weapon.

"Still nothing?" you hear Tao say. "Then let's try this."

Tao flings Bora off of the spear, and into the air.

"Here, you can have it back," Tao declares, throwing the weapon up at the airborne Bora.
