Welcome everyone, new and old players alike! This is Tundra civ, a civ thread series in a fictional, non-fantasy setting where you play as the rulers of the White Republic, a nation in a world similar to our own. Previously on Tundra civ: It is the year 1235 After the Exile. Technology on Terra Nova has now reached the approximate level of 2000 AD Earth. The past two decades have seen great growth in living standarts for our people and the national economy keeps on growing. Recently, a war was fought in the hibibi desert in Aymsland, the result of which was the establishment of a new client republic in the place of the former Emirate. We also negotiated a population transfer agreement with the NPU, according to which we would gradually move a sizable chunk of our darkskin population to the NPU, where they can enjoy the political freedoms they've been causing troubles for. Now, satellites and spacecraft within our system have picked up distant radio frequencies of some sort, at a distance of around 2 lightyears from our solar system, Argosa.

We've summoned the leaders of the Axis Nations to the Council Palace in Centerhold for this summit. President Lark Kolders welcomes the important attendees: The Chief Regent of the Kaichou Empire, Kagayuki Fushijo; the Head Chairman of the Sunset Alliance, Yin Lix; His Royal Majesty Sagar III, King of the Sigbru; President Maarman bin Douzef of the Hibibi Republic; Prince Nashir V of Kayans, ruler of the Prizzid and Krushid. Representatives from the Goran are led by Chophel Dawa. We've presented the leaders with the top-secret information we have, of radio frequencies being detected from deep space. Most of them already know that, of course.
What should we propose to the summit?
Bentley King
I think there alot of things we should do. 1.Build a Space Ark to fly us out of here if the aliens are going to kill us. 2.Make vaults for our people so if the aliens attack they can survive their. 3. When the aliens have our weapons to fire at them full force, but try to go for peaceful talks first. 4. Get a Space Colony underway. 5. We share everyyhing we know about the aliens when we get more info. 6. Talk with the leaders and see their opinion on telling the public. Of course were not going to tell them now. 7.Drinks at the end of the meeting
Tyler Gutierrez
*3. When the aliens come... Forget a word but as long I'm here. Let's talk about payment. Each country has to pay into this world fund in which the money is used to fund the projects.

Our President's proposals have been heard. Prince Nashir believes the Axis Nations should form a political confederation so that we may make decisions together more easily on matters that concern us all. King Sagar has proposed the establishment of an Axis Joint Army Against Extraterestrials (AJAAX) that would be commanded by the proposed confederation, separate from every state's own armed forces. The Goran Confederacy and Hibibi Republic have expressed support for those proposals, while not necessarily denying other possibilities. The Kaichou Regent believes such supra-national agreements are unnecessary, but that we should increase our efforts on developing military technology and arming ourselves better and having our military leaders learn to work together. Head Chairman Lix believes the most important thing is that all nations be required to spend a certain percentage of their GDP for national defence purposes and that we share all military technology and intelligence among ourselves and focus on what we currently have - a military alliance.

While our position is clear, this is a negotiation after all. The SA and KE have agreed on sharing in military tech and performing joint wargames, while the Sigbru, Hibibi and Prizzid are negotiating on establishing further military and political cooperation between themselves. The Goran seem to be fine with doing what we're doing - their total population is 1.2 million in Central and Southern Aymsland. The KE and SA have said that they would support our Space Ark project if we join their initiative. Multiple choices possible A.Join the KE and SA in joint military development B.Allow the establishment of a confederation between the prizzid, hibibi and sigbru C.Oppose that confederation, they answer to us only and should know their places D.Other

Jayden Young
We've done it! We've been studying the Spirelord spaceship tech for over 35 years now and at last we have, to a large extent, caught up to their capabilities! We've managed to replicate their Electromagnetic tech - their barriers and antigravitational propulsors, their advanced railguns, their pure fission nuclear weaponry, autonomous robotics systems, operational military lasers - all of this was possible by the recovery of a major database and server from the spaceship remains. The stored information was cyphered and it took many years for us to begin making sence, but the recreation of the Master Key, with help from the Kaichou, allowed us to access what remains of the old Vaults. Perhaps the most valuable discovery is the science to the working warp hyperdrive, however. Based on all this newfound tech, we've built a copy of the Spirelord Spaceship - this time, a ship that will bring hope, rather than doom!

We've built a working space elevator off the coast of Volcania, that will allow us to easily transfer cargo to orbital space stations - plans for more of those are underway. The military has developed exoskeletons, based on the armor designs the Spirelord human soldiers had. Advanced computer technology is being integrated into practically everything - targeting systems, evasion systems, barrier systems. We're also developing mechs - tanks still form the backbone of our armored divisions, but threaded vehicles have their limits and for terrain that is unsuitable to them we now have other options - humanoid mechs that can maneuver around in tighter quarters and spider mechs that can traverse rough terrain. Military technology also finds great use for civilians - particulary in the medical fields, where lasers find great use in surgery, exoskeletons can be used to help spinal injuries, prosthetics can help replace lost limbs. The study of human genetics has advanced greatly and difficult to treat diseases are no longer a death sentence. Computer technology has greatly advanced, modern computers are smaller, but far more powerful than older generations - one company has even managed to create what they call a "Smartphone", a mobile phone with the processing capabilities of a computer! Newfound technology has jumped us from the Third Industrial Revolution to the Fourth within two years of the rebuilding of the Master Key!

We've built three Space Arks now, equipped to transport people a long distance and set up frontier outposts! Terraformation isn't quite within our grasp yet, but we have the knowledge to build long-term domed outposts that would have their own atmosphere, plants, water supply etc. We've somewhat increased our military production capabilities on Terra Nova as well.

The alien frequencies we were recieving eventually vanished - it's been four years since then and now we are detecting them again, but this time they aren't keeping the same distance - with our new tech we've detected them at a distance of 30 lightyears - that was last month.
