Fuck wizards their Standard balancing has been so shit lately.

What's that boys Red is not playable one bit in the meta right now? Okay sweet it's time to print a couple more 3 drop green creatures that fit right into CoCo decks and GW Tokens.

Oh shit is White not 100% of the meta yet? Alright here's the best 4 drop flyer in standard right now.

Blue has no draw power after Dig rotates? Okay let's print a green ponder and a green forbidden alchemy.

What's her ult?

desu this set was done with design right around Oath's release, they had no idea what the meta would look like

How much you want to bet the sorcery Accumulated Knowledge variant wasn't a sorcery until Development got their mitts on it?

Fuckin' crybaby.

>Implying Red isn't going to be one of the most powerful colors once Kaladesh releases

Oh boy I can't wait for Gideon emblems + 1/1 thopters fucking everywhere

Why is Development the No Fun Allowed Zone?

Cast or play? Need dat land drop action

Cast, sorry. Just threw together the topic quickly.

I want it so bad man

Yeah bud I love going to large tournaments and 50%+ of the field is GW Tokens and the other half is split between Bant CoCo and Humans. SWEET

Possibly the most obvious fake I've ever seen.

How is that an excuse

>Ult that can be done by uncommon rarity sweepers

>they had no idea what the meta would look like

They build the sets years in advance and playtest the hell out of them. They have some idea, even if they sometimes miss a few things (like Thragtusk).

>draw from pact
>you discard
>deal 2 and gain 2
>Harmless Offering
>tfw

Goddammit, they just want vampires to be shitty

According to the newest post on their developer blog, they want vampires to be a playable tribe once EMN is out.

>What nukes? I actually don't really know her involvement in the story so far, other than Jace finding her journal.

Tamiyo is carrying several iron-bound scrolls which Jace saw in her mind; one of them is the spell that destroyed Serra's plane. The others are equally terrible, all are capable of world-ending events.

Siege Rhino

I want to believe

>All the more reason to call the Gatewatch. It was a miracle, sure, but everyone acting like it was some asspull aren't really giving them much credit. The plan was good and it worked, and the oldwalkers fucked up and had to shove the Eldrazi in a closet in the first place because Ugin was a big fat liar.
One, we don't know if Ugin is a liar due to not knowing much about Eldrazi.
Two, Gatewatch defeating TWO titans the way that they had REALLY downgrades any danger that Eldrazi always represented.

I think I remember him telling her to use one against Avacyn when they were gonna die but then sorin showed up.

I should reread I am Avacyn

This. If the Gatewatch had killed or even just sealed Ulamog, that would have set them up as credible to me.

They defeating a giant plane-eating monster! They learned that teamwork can save the day. There are still two more out there though, and (if they sealed Ulamog) the one they sealed could still get free.

That leaves them with 2 Eldrazi at large, and one more imprisoned. Lot of cards on the table, but still no mean feat.

Instead we got them burning two supposedly immortal creatures to death with the vague plan of 'what if we tried MORE mana?'

And then it worked, which just makes the whole thing feel like a dumb contrivance. All that rallying of Zendikar and making them fight for their home? Didn't matter, just burned it. There's still an Eldrazi at large? Who cares, burn it too!

Nothing is a threat to the Gatewatch, which means there's no real sense of tension.

So this bitch gets an Oath because she'd rather rely on the Jacetice League instead of the Veil. JUST.

Aren't full spoilers supposed to be out on Friday?

I remember when Elf Hitler had trouble simply stalling ONE Eldrazi titan using all of Zendikar's power, so the lack of danger+consistency in latest set is really off-puting.

No Fun Except Their Fun (Except When They Screw Up Like Always, Which Is How We Got Siege Rhino)

>Stormkirk
>in anything but Blue or Dimir

Fuck flavor, I guess.

Dayum, did Lili just get hotter?

>Avacyn, The Purifier
>Angels
>in anything but white

Fuck flavor, I guess.

You do realize she's probably going to push the veil to her limits and be going to the next set searching for someone that can stop it from killing her?

Then they unleash the entire fucking race of spirits that powers the veil and oh no planar fuck up 200587 occurs.

Considering that Liliana is utterly self-centered and will fuck over anyone and everyone to hold onto power and youth without paying the price those things demand, I don't really understand why she would sign up with a party that will constantly be dealing with things that don't personally affect Liliana.

Of course, I'm pretty fuzzy on why Liliana is fighting for Innistrad at all. She doesn't have a dog in this fight the way Sorin does and considering that she casually unleashed thousands of demons on the plane and fucked off once she had what she wanted last time I don't think she's THAT attached to her fucking summer home.

The Stromkirks were always a bloodline of vampires and thus black and red aligned as a whole. Thats just how vamps work, other than sorin.

Are you even trying with this?

Long term things, I guess? Maybe she doesn't want Emrakul fucking things up for her in the future.

The story on the website shows that she wants Jace to owe her, and then in turn help her with the Veil as a result.
That and she does have a bit of a soft spot for him too.

Her full oath, as best I can tell:

>"I see that together we're more powerful than we are alone. If that means I can do what needs to be done without relying on the Chain Veil, then I'll keep watch. Happy now?"

Sounds like she's still somewhat in it for herself.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit neegah.

>and playtest the hell out of them

C'mon, you don't actually believe that, right? Of course they playtest but I'd be surprised if it were actually very thorough, they let obvious issues slip through in almost every single set. It's not like they need to bother much anyway. The cards will sell regardless of the balance every single year, the game has too much inertia to fail all at once.

She honestly has no good reason for it. They're shoehorning her into the gatewatch for the purpose of having their main five all being in there, damn any of it making sense. It's checking boxes for the sake of checking boxes. The Origins Five are the First Five Gatewatchers, there's one of all five monocolor, and that's why Kiora didn't end up in it and I'm guessing none of the other walkers involved in SoI will either.

>playing standard
well there's your problem right there

I was under the impression Tammy had decided her job here was to observe the outcome. Wonder what made her decide to get involved.

>people still this salty

The more of EMN we get, the more in convinced that Emrakul is the real power behind the Eldrazi. I'm totally expecting a reveal somewhere down the line from Ugin that tells us the Titans were only killed because Emrakul had left since Emrakul has control over living forms. Basically, the Titans were extensions of Emrakul, Nahiri summoned Emrakul away, Ula/Koz were still devouring the plane, Jacestice league eventually stops them.

Think about it. Emrakul is combining things together into bigger things, so then how does Emrakul feed from the plane itself? By fusing more and more living things together until you have something suitably capable. Emrakul is also aesthetically VERY different from the other Titans, and her key trait is the lattice structure. If you combine enough lattices, they eventually become solid like a crystal structure.

Theres a few cards that talk about how differently this plane responds to her compared to others, she's constantly surprised by how easily shes able to pull up dead shit on innistrad.

Also her recent lore story made it sound like she had absolutely no intention of helping Jace and was about to planeswalk when she just found herself headed towards the danger without thinking.

Maybe its for Jace, maybe she's being manipulated by the raven man, maybe its just shitty writing, who knows

But they literally worship an ancient ocean god. I'm so pissed nothing has tied into that yet, and the giant ocean monsters we've seen have all be unaffiliated.

Imagine if GateWatch was Gideon-Jace-Chandra-Nissa-Ob Nix instead, but then we got a proper betrayal instead of the half-assed on they did in Oath.

-6: Separate all permanents target player controls into two piles. That player sacrifices all permanents in the pile of his or her choice.

;)

God fucking dammit. The fucking jacetice league strikes again.

Oh look, Nissa sealed Emurkul into the moon, just like everyone predicted before it was even announced.

Now we just need Elves to pop up on innistrad again and we're 100% on predicting this entire damn block.

>Oath of Liliana
>"S-Stupid Cloak Boy. I-I'll hang out with your dumb little club for a favor. It's not because I like you or anything, geez!"

I was actually about to post this right here. She is basically joining them so she doesn't have to keep killing herself by using the Chain Veil.

Also Hot as fuck

Haha, just fuck my story up! This is actually worse than anyone predicted! Yeah I am done.
Fuck magic.

Moon atleast looks fun to play though.

I'll bite, what's the magazine and what does the article say?

This plane is full of hotties. Highest concentration of any, by my estimate.

Oh okay. I guess I'll be looking forward to Emrakul being the big bad Eldrazi that was the real threat all a-

Oh nevermind

I know, would fuck Geralf and Ludvic.

Looks like the power of friendship will save the day again.

Well, technically there's nothing stopping them from worshiping an ancient ocean god in a cult-of-rakdos sort of way. But your point on not exploiting the fish business is fair enough.

>Magazine
That's the art book for Innistrad. Just like the Zendikar one, it leaked early and all the story spills loose. ggwp wizards.

When jace went to visit her she was mentioning how she just wanted to be rid of the chain veil and be strong enough on her own or something like that.

When she was trying to have stop his mind fuckery with death magic the chain veil got involved and almost killed him.

Is that a star of David absorbing emrakul?

Why is every piece Karla Ortiz ever done so attractive?

What book is this from?

Was there ever any doubt? Innistrad is a popular plane, why would they ever get rid of it when they could return to it again, after all

I don't know, this is from a Japanese twitter.
twitter.com/Diene9/status/748749404643872768/photo/1

>waahhh they killed the Eldrazi instead of sealing them what bull shit power of friendship shit
>Waaah they couldn't kill Emrakul so they sealed her

No, I think it's Nissa's weird Elf-leaf emblem thing that she uses.

Unless that was supposed to be some jew joke, in which case bleh.

did anyone not see this coming?

What's to return to? The entire balance of power of the plane is still fucked, the monsters are worse than ever, and the protections humanity depended on to survive are all gone forever.

Despite what Arlinn seems to think, the monsters are going to wipe humanity the fuck out in months unless something ridiculously drastic happens, not decide to sit around a campfire singing kumbaya.

Well, they could've driven it off instead
Or they could have lost and had to retreat as innistrad became a writhing mass of emrakul

Mate, the problem here is we knew they were gonna seal emmy in the moon from the moment we heard about return to INN.

>Missing the point this badly

If they had sealed one and had two on the loose, that could have worked. They often played up Ulamog as the weakest, so spending a full block only to trap him would have been okay.

Killing two in a single block was too much.

Meanwhile, they've got Emrakul played up as the strongest of the three, and they've dealt with her in a single set.

My issue is how they seem to be knocking out the Eldrazi at a rate of 1 per set. Where's the challenge? Aren't these things supposed to be dangerous?

Nice Redirect, but I am gonna have to Disrupt it. The problem is not what is being done, it's the way the events are executed.

>Emmy gets sealed in da moon
>Superfriends all patting each other on the backs at the afterparty
>Seals on the moon start glowing brightly
>Moon shatters into countless pieces and start raining down on Innistrad
>Emmy reappears in the sky but then warps away
>Innistrad is permanently destroyed

How would you react Veeky Forums?

Yep. People were already calling Shadows over Innistrad with Eldrazi in the moon and lovecraft tentacle horror way before any news about the block dropped.

Most of the mystery came from people hoping that they wouldn't do the blindingly obvious.

I'm just sad it doesn't match The Prediction completely, since it got all the other parts right
>Set name Shadow Over Innistrad
>Involves Emrakul coming to buttfuck the plane
>Emrakul gets punted into the moon
Only thing different is that it's not Sorin sacrificing his life to make it happen.

I don't care at this point, just want to build fun new decks.

Yeah, but the silver moon is basically a giant Helvault, meant to store things like that.

>Innistrad is permanently destroyed

Doubtful, since chunks of moon probably aren't any worse than most of the populace being a big katamari of calamari, but it would be a nice change of pace from the Gatewatch solving everything.

HELLO DEAR LEAKERS
PLEASE GOD SHOW ME A GOOD RED CARD
SEND HELP I AM DIE SOON

How can these motherfuckers not snap higher resolution pics of this shit

Was refering to BfZ+Oath.

So, kinda like FFXIV and Bahamut? I'm okay with that.

I think he meant chunks of the moon raining down in addition to all the other shit

As long as the mad science team survive on the Ludvic weatherlight 2.0

Well yeah, but I mean at that point what's the worst that can happen? Pretty much everyone is dead anyway. It might cause an ice-age, but that's not going to 'permanently destroy' the plane any more than it already is.

Oath guesses?

2B
Etb get a 2/2 zombie

If a Walker etb, opponent discards

>Weatherlight 2.0
>Made off random pieces of eldrazi, zombies, robotics, and randomly screaming scaabs

>he doesn't play UR aggro or eldrazi

you haven't lived until you've dealt your opponent 20 damage with 2-3 copies of Fevered Visions while countering every relevant spell they cast

>mfw

>Only thing different is that it's not Sorin sacrificing his life to make it happen.

It ain't over yet =)

>Weatherlight 2.0
>It's made out of Hanweir, just insulated with skaab pieces
>Ludevic rolls up to the final fight, apologizes for being late, and tosses Emrakul into the moon singlehandedly.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard will people rage if Ludevic doesn't get a card and dies like a bitch in the fluff?

Thinking of getting back into Standard. Is green ramp still viable even with no more Elvish Mystic or Llanowar elf?

>When asked why Ludevic threw Emrakul into the moon, Ludevic simply replied with: "just because I could."

>Nissa flavortext
>Innistrad card

They wouldn't kill him. They won't give him a card maybe but they would never kill him.

Yerse!
