Welcome everyone, new and old players alike! This is Tundra civ, a civ thread series in a fictional, now sci-fi setting where you play as the rulers of the White Republic, a nation on the last surviving human world - the moon Terra Nova. Previously on Tundra civ: We've made first contact with an alien civilization! The Omicron Federation, a fairly young space-faring civilization, detected our long-distance electronic frequencies and radio transmissions after we ourselves began building our first colony ships. Expressing a desire to peacefuly coexist with each other, an Omicron embassy was established on the White Republic's Space Station, Yolen. Now we set our sights on a whole new world - Space, the final frontier. It is the year 1242 After the Exile.

Redid the map of our solar system, Argosa, on Photoshop. Last time you asked for more knowledge on the galaxy - the Omicron Ambassador has sent us a star chart showing most of what they themselves have explored so far. I got autistic with our home moon on this map, kek.
Clarification - we haven't started colonizing any of the planets in our system yet, though we have four Space Arks ready, each capable of carrying a maximum of 5000 pioneers to a planet in our system or a nearby one, thanks to our new warpdrives(tests have been successful in travelling up to a (fairly small) distance.

if we send the arks have them go to argosa I, II, IVB, IVC

I feel we should claim other systems first, as to establish an "area of influence" and to try to find earth.

We have surveys on all planetary objects in our star system. The Barren moon, Argosa IIIb, has no atmosphere and has no traces of every having sustained life. It has some amount of useful minerals. Argosa II seems to be the most promising - it has polar ice caps and some scientists believe it may have had a biosystem of its own millions of years ago - around the same time that Terra Nova's previous generation of life existed, the source of our fossil fuels. Argosa II has a slightly stronger gravity than Terra Nova - it is probably less dense, but it has a greater size and mass to make up for it. Argosa I has a pressure-cooker atmosphere and its surface has no traces of life whatsoever. Argosa III and IV are gas giants. IV's two closer moons are similar to our own barren moon, but Argosa IVc is covered in ice, under which we believe lies water. We've sent 1 of our space arks to a nearby star system and it returned safely. That system, ZSF-41 - nicknamed Zesfera - has one gas giant and 2 planets, which are not in the "Goldilocks Zone" - the orbital distance that would make it highly suitable to human settlement. Zesfera I is close to the star and likely has a pressure-cooker atmosphere, while Zesfera II has so far been unexplored. We have 4 colony ships and 3 light warships available. A.Build up our space fleet B.Colonize Argosa IIIb(Barren moon) C.Colonize Argosa II D.Send ships to Zesfera for further surveys E.Colonize Argosa IVc
Use our ships however you want - we can send all of them to one destination or split them up.

Each colony option receives one space ark except argosa IVc which gets two.
The ships exploring Zesfera will be two light warships.
I wish for us to primarily build ark-ships.

We'll send two of our warships to scout out and survey Zesfera. We've equipped them with appropriate tools for that purpose - these will be our scout vessels from now on, the Pirus class corvettes.
We'll continue building ships, balancing between colony ships and scout ships.
Our current Space Arks are now being sent to Argosa II to begin setting up a colony. We'll deploy our outposts on one of the polar caps(or close to it) so we can eventually access local water and have a slightly better climate. The outposts will be domed and have their own internal atmosphere, flora and fauna. Terraforming technology is still in its very early stages - first thing we'll start doing once the outposts are set up is to begin creating a stable atmosphere.
Now rolling for three things - space missions, national development and international development - in that order.
Elijah Young
We've sent out our ships. The scout vessels have reported that Zesfera II is barren, without and atmosphere and too distant from the star to be easily colonisable, its minerals are nothing special - mostly nickel. The application of modern science continues to advance our nation's economic and societal development. Holograms, miniature computers, nuclear fusion, nanomachines, antigrav propulsion - the wonders of modern science! On the international level, there's been major developments as well. We aren't the only ones who are reaping the benefits of Spirelord technology. The global political landscape has changed - space exploration and colonisation is the new frenzy and everyone wants to get in on it. At present there are four competitors >Occidental Union - the Kaichou Empire and Sunset Alliance have gotten close in the last 40 years - internal politics are independent from each other, but their external policies are now unified, most importantly they've joined up their space programs - total population of 190 million >The New Pajit Union is fairly small in territory, but densely populated and was able to access much of the new Spirelord technology early on, before the Master Key was even rebuilt - population of 105 million >The Tri-Federation - the united powers of the Sigbru, Hibibi and Prizzid nations(client states of ours) have recently started their own space program up - population of 50 million The other client state of ours, the Goran Confederacy, has a far smaller population and has expressed no ambitions of the galactic kind.
The Occidental Union has just now started setting up their colony on Argosa IIIb, the barren moon. The NPU has built one long-range spaceship so far, destination unknown. The Tri-fed is still preparing.

D&E We've further refined our space travel capabilities, increasing the range and accuracy of our warp hyperdrives and the speed of our sublight propulsion systems. Terraforming Argosa II is now a not-so-distant possibility - we've gotten to most of the basics of creating a stable atmosphere, water supply, soil and transfering flora and fauna from Terra Nova - the humans from the past, in the days of SPIRE, were even more advanced, but we've almost completely caught up to their level.
Our spacefleet has increased to 5 corvettes. We built another space ark, which we sent to Argosa II. A single Space Ark can be used for the creation of an outpost that can sustain around 4000 inhabitants, using the equipment on board and the ship itself, which is converted and used as the foundation of our outpost. We continue to build colony ships - an expensive affair, taking up much of our current budget.

The OA and TF haven't made much progress recently, but the NPU have laid their claim to the icy moon, Argosa IVc, establishing their first outpost there. A heated debate occured in the Council, but in the end, the decision was made. The only laws in space are the laws of gravity! We'll settle where we want and that includes the ice moon. We're also sending three corvettes to scout nearby systems out. Give me three dice rolls - one for colonization, one for exploration and one for our competitors(high is good for them).

I also have a idea that can help fund our space missions. We can have a fundraising for our space missions, citizen s are free to give their money for our space colonies. This of course won't be taxes but based on people free will.
Also we could make openings in our colonies , so instand of sending 5,000 best equipped colonizers, we could add a handful of colonizers that paid to go to space so we could have a average joe go into space for a better life. We could also allow private business go into space, as a way to also send more colonies.
Evan Hill
An unexpected systems failure forced our colony ship to turn back after it had almost reached the ice moon. Ark 6 returned safely and is under repairs at present. Of the nearby star systems that we've scouted out, one seems to hold a lot of potential - J7-NP34 is its official designation, commonly being called Juniper. It has one gas giant with 4 small, barren moons and one planet located in the Goldilocks zone - a terrestrial, continental planet, inhabited by alien flora and fauna. No signs of inteligent lifeforms have been detected. The planet has a variety of biomes, but the most of its solid surface is occupied by forests and jungles.
In other news, the NPU and OA have established their own embassies with the Omicron Federation and continue making progress on their own space programs. The Tri-federation has built its first colony ship as well.

We're expanding our space initiative to allow private investors(given they obey certain rules and remember their loyalty to our state) to participate and to expand the pool of potential settlers, while also getting some money in return. Well, let's do all of them! The embassy negotiations with the Omicron Federation are underway. The important matter now is the Terra Nova Space Colonization Agreement. Negotiations will be held in Kayans.
The leaders of the four alliances have come. Submit some creative ideas and proposals, I'll be back in a few minutes and we'll see what the other sides also have to propose!

Multiple nations may hold land on the same world. (With borders being made in a conventional manor like those in the days of continental colonisation on Nova itself.).
If a nation wishes to "claim" an entire world, they must keep all other interested parties off world for three years and remove the colonies of any other groups.
Owning a planet, moon or other body doesn't grant ownership of the space immediately around it, except in cases of "air-space" for military bases, spaceports and other such things. Cities carry a no-fly zone within five miles of the tallest structure unless permission is given or stated otherwise.
Since we are the most militeristically powerful, this treaty benefits us if we want to land grab but also sets up the possibility of peaceful expansion and shared worlds.
Alternatively, we could use the "Articles of colonisation" from the "coldest war lets play" series in Aurora. Seeing how that was designed for this set of events.
Isaac Butler
I don't really have any ideas but I'll try to come up with something. 1. People that colonize a planet first no other are allow to go to that planet. Unless. The nations in question who want to settle that planet work something out with each other. 2.If we counter aliens that wish to destory our planet the human race will work together stopping them and putting our differences aside. 3.If we counter aliens on the planets we encounter, be moral and ethnic to them. But do what you think is the best. Fun 4.The making of a alien zoo, just animals of the alien world not intelligence alien. This is not serious of course. 5. I also support this
Brayden Howard
