Tale of the Boxman Volume III: The Forgoten Story of The Boxnaught Edition
The sounds of a space hulk Sub-Edition
In the previous thread we continued the debate on who has the best geneseed and discussed the colors of specialists, we explained to an user why Destroyers are frowned upon, the loyalist Primarch reasons for being missing was listed, we learned some the ways of the Alpha Legion used to inflitrate the RG to ruin Corvus's dream of rebuilding his legion, left eye and right hand dominance was mentioned, talk on terminator armor, Dreadnoughts, and WW2 tanks and their production was made plus more in the last bread Red Book Links:

First for XIX nomadic predation fleets!
Is there any fluff about Sanguinius actually flying or were his wing just used for short jumps/gliding?
In Pharos it said he liked to take little flies around the city to clear his mind
Jesus, imagine how terrifying that would be as a planetary governor.
One day you start finding important politicians and global leaders dead and mutilated, slowly communications are shut off, power grids shut down, then one day entire cities go missing or are slaughtered, all with no trace of who's doing it.
And then when everything's gone to shit, and you've finally given up, the fuckers who've been doing this emerge, nightmarish monsters dressed in strange armour and human skin. The final kick in the balls being that they weren't doing this for any particular reason, they were doing it because they enjoyed it.

iirc he broke Kabanda's back by flying up high and then plummeting to the ground with the demon on his knee during the siege of terra.
Is there anything worth knowing about the Sol planets that aren't Terra or Mars?
Saturn makes ships apparently.
Saturn, I think, is a spaceship construction yard.
And for some reason, I have this idea of a defense ring about Pluto, but I might be picking that up from somewhere else.
Saturn had void-hoplites and was a bunch of orbital city-states in constant war, with the last functional warfleet in the system.
Jupiter was like Saturn, but without the hoplites and the fleet.
Sedna was an alien artificial planet.
There were witches with golems on Venus.
Luna was inhabitated by gene-sects, who were douches and needed a good beating from the Fists, LWolves, and Warborns.
reminder
Venus has colonies that were conquered during the Unification Wars.
Jupiter is a forge world. In that it had vast shipyards orbiting it and its moons are there to support the production efforts.
Saturn (that is, its moons) are the home of the Solar Auxilia. In 40k they're mainly the base of operations for the Inquisition and the Grey Knights.
Uranus has some orbital colonies.
Neptune('s orbit) was a home to a ton of mutants and got purged by the Emperor.
Pluto's just an outpost.
And I suppose Mercury's too hot for anything, even in the grimdark future?
I think it was some ancient piece of fluff that had like Mercury covered in solar panels or something. How they'd transfer that energy elsewhere is a mystery, though.
Mercury is probably some sort of giant foundry.
In Fear to Tread he flies around to relax and clear his head
There were three no fly zones during the seige of Terra.
Above the palace
Anywhere near the Phalanx
And the mother fucking moon
The moon is full of gene tech and they fortified the shit out of every inch of it.
>Anywhere near the Phalanx
What bullshit reason are they going to give for the Phalanx not being totally destroyed during the siege do you reckon? Seems like that thing could have cut the traitor fleet in half.
79889Which of these gruesome hazards fit each planet?
Maybe it chased the traitor fleet round and round the planet for the entire siege.
>even in space you can hear yakkety sax
I got banned for making a 30k related first post in one of these generals. The reason given was violating global rule 3 regarding post numbers and gets.
The mod is a worthless useless piece of shit especially considering the amount of numbers related posts go on in generals and across the entire site.
My guess is stalemate with the Phalanx engaging several ships at once and none winning or losing.
the phalanx is slow as fuck
theyll probably say some bullshit about the alpha legion disabling its engines or something so it was just stuck out in the middle of nowhere with nobody daring to get close to it
I'm curious. What is the appeal of the Imperial Fists? Is it their scheme? Dorn/Sigismund/Pollux? Their fortress building shtick? I'm only asking as it seems like they get more love here than most legions. Dorn doesn't seem to be a particularly outstanding figure amongst the primarchs. Can someone clear the air for me?
Sigismund and the BT really.
Dorn was the generic primarch of primarchs. He even had a bolter and chainsword.
Because it's a floating fortress made in the dark age of technology and then further improved about by the go to primarch for fortifying shit. It was most likely leading the space offensive
people like the everyman
Thinking about using a LIbrarian, what powers does he have access to in the Heresy?
For many it's being the golden defenders of Terra.
For others it's the knowledge that you are the reliable ones, not some deviant legion like the Night Lords or the Word Bearers.
For some it's the characters like Siggy.
if the planet has even one guard regiment will balls, or maybe just one noble scion of guilliman the night lords are probably the least scary space marines to have attack your planet
I love them, but they're pillow fisted.
Would citizens see him? Would they be terrified that some massive beast was flying around? Would flying cars crash into him?
>white shoulders
>blue helmet
The codex astartes does not support this action.
>Angron
>that tall
>poleaxe
>Magnus that tiny
>Perturabo having a hammer while Ferrus is alive
>Corax is a kamen rider
The fuck is this shit.
>the bullet-proof pope goes out for a drive
>do people see him?
>do they think he's a terrorist?
>would cars crash into him?
Because they are based
They were really good at what they did, didn't have a gimmick and excelled in what they were suppose to do. They were the only chapter that exemplified the great crusade and undertook it with zeal.
They are just fleshed out really well.
Not to mention the best captins, fleet, facial hair, fortresses, and successor chapters.
All of them in the rulebook
The way librarians work in 30k is you pick one discipline from the rule book for your librarian and he can only roll on that.
Of course, you'd know this if you literally just glanced at the librarian consul entry
I keep hearing that Consoles can't play Maelific and Sanic powers.
I got temp banned for telling two quest threads to actually take their thread over to the new board.
A drive isn't a fly user.
It's pretty much never going to happen that you'll see a humanoid flying under their own power, but people driving is quite normal
>they were the only chapter that exemplified the great crusade and undertook it with zeal
The Emperors Children, and Ultramarines would like a word with you. Wait no, pretty much every legion would like a word with you.
It's pretty much never going to happen that you'll see a Primarch.
IF we're the only ones that partook in the great crusade because they believed in the act, not because they wanted to build empires or find some pretty art.
Yeah man, the N64 cant take malefic but the gamecube can take santic
But on a serious note, they can all take santic, but only WB's can take malefic
first company units have more variance in how they display their rank/company.
>the Codex not only approves the use of these variants but also encourages the Master of the Chapter to regularly change to confound the Chapter's foes
>Furthermore, in their careers Veterans are likely to have acquired an extensive personal catalogue of honours and blessings. These will be displayed on the Marine's armour enhancing its customised look.
t. Insignium Astartes
the codex isn't exactly limited in what it covers
I want to use those sick puppetswar flesh hound models but I don't play CSM/Daemons/traitor legion
wat do
Buy them and use them when you're playing traitors from a loyalist legion?
They all took part in the great crusade because they believed in it. Even the legions of the Primarchs who didn't want to be there, like Angron, Jaghatai, and Mortarion believed in the Great Crusade to unite humanity, otherwise, you know, they wouldn't of done it.
>buy them
>play a Traitor legion
How do you think the loyal crusade marines felt about their reluctant primarch?
>not because they wanted to build empires
that is literally what the crusade was about
Literally every legion had an additional motive to be in the crusade
Khan was bored with his home planet
Corax and mort wanted to cast down tyrants
Gulliman wanted to play civ
Magnus wanted knowledge
Dorn just wanted to crusade and unite humanity
I'm thinking if GW makes a plastic Daemon Angron that looks as badass as his art to go alongside the Daemon Primarchs return and Daemon Magnus rumors, I'll make red/white World Eaters I guess. I can play them as KDK or CSM in 40k as well.
I just kinda wanted to add some neat Daemon models to my army without having to start a new army but I play foolish loyalists.
The EC were His exemplars, and nobody can deny the efectiveness of the UM at expanding the Imperium just as nobody can deny that Dorn was the one who believed in the Great Crusade the harders.
Even Guilliman could see Emps as somewhat of a dick sometimes, but not Dorn. The same went for his plans of galactic domination.
>They all took part in the great crusade because they believed in it
Kek.
Morty served the Emperor because he lost a bet
Perty because he was merely following orders
Angron had to be fucking kidnapped to be placed in the Imperials side.
Kind of.
Always good for a chuckle
They felt like dying...but afterwards most felt nothing but the embrace of oblivion cooling down the flames of betrayal
Eh, saying Guilliman just wanted to play civ is like saying Dorn just wanted to build fortresses
For that matter, what was Horus' secondary motive then? If anything Horus exemplified the crusade better than Dorn, hence why he was chosen to be Warmaster. Or The lion? He seemed like he was just there to carry on his conquering by taking it to space,
Yeah, I was talking about the legions not the primarchs themselves. In Scars for example, the marines talk about how much the love the crusade and shit, while the Khan's like "this shit's fuckin' gay, lets just let everyone go"
It wasnt the primarchs place to be building those empires. They were suppose to be warriors and generals. The empire building was for the fleet of burocrats and engineers that came after the fighting was done.
>If anything Horus exemplified the crusade better than Dorn, hence why he was chosen to be Warmaster.
He was better than most (Sanguinius was even better, like a better loser, and far too pure for that shit), but Dorn was the most zealous about crusading. Emps simply knew that the Warmaster was meant to be more flexible some times, something that Dorn wasn't really known for.
>Or The lion? He seemed like he was just there to carry on his conquering by taking it to space,
Now, isn't a man's right to righteously travel the stars in order to find a proper forest which he can chop down because of good honest hatred of trees?
Horus was fucking ambitious, his motive was commanding more and more power.
The lion's reason for crusading was the hunt to cure his autism.
But they couldn't just fuck the planets over and then let someone else tidy it up for them. This is what the AL did, and it's made pretty clear that these planets were generally shitholes that didn't really respect or believe in the Imperium after this.
>Now, isn't a man's right to righteously travel the stars in order to find a proper forest which he can chop down because of good honest hatred of trees?
I still have nightmares about Tennessee.
He should have listened to Autism-Curing subliminals then. They cured Chris-Chan.
>The lions worst nightmare

>Dorn was the one who believed in the Great Crusade the harders
>It wasnt the primarchs place to be building those empires
I love dorn, quite a bit, but the emperor himself disagrees with you. Apparently generals that don't need to be micromanaged and are capable of independent initiative are what the master of mankind was looking for.
Him praising the ultramarines as the finest examples of the crusade were the whole reason Calth happened.
Most of the legions just ramshacked their planets and left. Even the good ones.
Turn your thoughts to vengeance, brother.
mfw
It is a most foul myth that the Lion suffers from autism
On the contrary, he enjoys it a lot! :^)
Cth happened because the emp used the UM to spank the WBs jewel world. Logar thought Girlyman enjoyed the experience and took it personally
>Turn your thoughts to vengeance, brother.
By the time I'm done, there'll be nothing but log cabins.
The lion use to tell jokes occasionally.
No one got them though and thought he was just talking.
I wonder what would have happened had Emps brought Horus and the SoH to scold Lorgar. It could have been quite different.
So, he's german?
Maybe if Lorgar hadn't been starting a religion in a crusade designed to end religion and hanging out with the two shadiest fuckers in the galaxy then all this shit wouldn't of happened
>I wonder what would have happened had Emps brought Horus and the SoH to scold Lorgar. It could have been quite different.
I think it would have ended in the same way.
>Cth happened because the emp used the UM to spank the WBs jewel world.
>While the Emperor had chastised the Word Bearers, they watched with jealous hearts as he championed the Ultramarines as his finest warriors. When the Heresy erupted and the shackles of loyalty were cast off, the Word Bearers set upon the Sons of Ultramar with unbridled hatred.
If one or two things had been different for all the primarchs alot would be different
Horus would have probably taken logar to the side and explained it wasn't personal and gave him a pep talk.
Almost correct. In 'Aurelian' Lorgar is told by a FateWeaver that Guilliman and Lorgar's feud is meaningless as they both believe the other one hates them. Lorgar also states in 'Know No Fear' and 'Betrayer' that Calth and the reaving of Ultramar has a purpose in the grand scheme and is not a personal vendetta against Guilliman.
Though Guilliman obviously comes to hate Lorgar because of this, regardless of Lorgar's reasons.
Even the Emperor's Executioned admitted he can't take on Horus just like that
The same may go for the rest of his legion
Then again, SW+SOS+Custodes had a hard time taking down an unprepared tiny legion like the TSons...
This would be in the scenario where Lorgar distances himself from his "the most dangerous" of his brothers, rather than trying to seduce him to his side.
>his example is one I would have you follow
The Emperor is saying this dude has the right idea, not the exemplar of what He's trying to do.
>nothin personnel lergrar
>*deep strikes reaver squads behind u*
>The Emperor is saying this dude has the right idea, not the exemplar of what He's trying to do.
guilliman is quite literally being used as an exemplar for lorgar in that conversation
To be fair, the Thousand Sons were one of the most deadly legions despite being the smallest. It was almost an even playing field. Hell, if Magnus had actually tried to fight from the getgo on Prospero then they probably would have rebuked the SW but Magnus knew they'd be needed.
Actually, this brings up something that pisses me off. Magnus initially keeps from telling his legion that SW are coming and even refuses to fight until the very end because he knows the SW will be needed in the coming war but then what does he do? He does a complete fucking 180 and sides with the traitors.
I don't know why he sides with the traitors, but by this point he has accepted being Tzeench's bitch.
Can someone post the quote where Horus is lamenting that all of his most beloved brothers stayed loyal to the Emperor and he is forced to fight with the broken, petty, and mentally unsound of his brothers.
Lorgar bringing the hurtful words!
>and is not a personal vendetta against Guilliman
it's almost like the horus heresy fluff is rife with contradictions
Contradictions are nice though. It means you can pick and choose your own canon at a whim.
yeah, I can agree with that
Angron had a two handed chain axe called widow maker. The reason he doesn't have it anymore is because he hit Russ with it so hard it shattered.
I thought they we're gorefather and gorechild?
Those were the replacements to widow maker
All primarchs have bucketloads of primarch-level wargear.
Basically this. Your average primarch seems to have gone through enough Wargear for every single second founding and a few of the third founding chapters to have some chainsword or power blade they used for a year or two.
I used to believe the Teeth of Terra had something to do with Dorn.
Even though we know he cracked his chainsword and it was too heavy for even an astartes to lift it anway.
Maybe it was his combat knife
At least we're sure the Burning Blade was the Emperor's, and that relic bolter was Guillimans IIRC
There's a part where Aeonid Thiel is admiring Guilliman's weapons closet, right?
That was after the fact
