German Hollow Quest 24

After visiting the living realm and curing a normally fatal disease you are standing beside Asher who is currently trying to get his bearings after he finished vomiting all over the place.

You end your Resurrección and reseal your powers.

"So what are you going to do now?
You are in no shape to drive."

"I'll let Jesus take the wheel."
He says and then laughs awkwardly.

You give him a grim look and speak up.
"Please, don't do that.
Just don't.
I tried it once, it... it didn't work."

He gives you a strange look.
"Relax, I was just joking."
He manages to stand up and dusts his clothes off.
"So what was that anyway?
That disease I mean.
I've never even heard of this AIDS before."

You scratch the back of your head as you answer him.
"Well...
I have a friend who is really into that sort of stuff and once he gets going there's nothing that can stop him.
You don't want to know how many times I lost my appetite thanks to him."

"So...
Should I be worried then?"

You shrug.
"There's no point.
If you'd worry about everything that could kill you then you'd never have a moments rest."

"So what are you going to do now?"

>Stay here and have a chat while he is recovering.
>"Now that this is done I'll just take my leave."

On one hand, I kinda want to ask him to come to ghost mexico with us, and we can keep shipping him and Alex. On the other hand, who knows what'll happen

Woo! Shark weak!

"I was thinking about staying here for a bit.
You know, check things out in the living world."
You answer him.

"Feeling nostalgic?"

"I'm just curious about the state of the world."

He gives you a worried look.
"I'd avoid Germany if I were you Kaizar."

"I'm not that clueless boy.
I've heard the state of the fatherland.
But what's going to change if I get mad about it?
Besides, I care more about my current life than the last one."

He sighs with relief and slumps down on the ground, clearly exhausted.
You raise an eyebrow as you look him over.
"Did it take that much out of you?"

"Yeah...
I had no idea you were this freakin' strong."

You shrug a little.
"Not many people are aware of the magnitude of my power, not even me.
What's even more impressive is that you managed to absorb that much of it."

"Well you aren't the only one whose powers grew over the years.
My fullbring matured much since the time it awakened."

You give him a grin.
"Oh really?
You'll have to show it to me someday."

He gives a hearty laugh.
"Maybe when I have the strength to stand up.
Until then you just have to be patient."

You sit down next to him.
There are a few minutes where neither of you speak instead you both stare blankly outward.
Eventually you get bored with it and ask something that has been bothering you for a while now.
"I've noticed Alex came to visit you a lot more recently.
Is there anything that I might have to be worried about?"

He turns his head toward you and gives you a freaked out expression.
"N-no..."

"Asher..."
You glare daggers at him.

"I-It's true I swear!
It's nothing serious."
He scratches the back of his head in a manner eerily reminiscent of you.
"Not yet anyway.
It's just that I always feel weird since she's, you know, dead."

>"Yeah, that sounds weird, maybe stick to girls with actual flesh."
>Give him positive reinforcement and a pat on the back.

Lets see if we can get an army of weird little Full-bringing-Arrancar babbies!

Also, they played since they were kids, kinda cute if it works out.

Also HOLY SHIT I CAUGHT A LIVE GERMAN HOLLOW QUEST AND CAN PARTICIPATE INSTEAD OF JUST READING AN ARCHIVE!

>Give him positive reinforcement and a pat on the back.
If this actually happens I wonder what would come from a full bringer and a arrancar getting it on.

Wonderfull things user, wonderfull things

Turns out I wasn't even that late.

You sigh heavily and then pat him on the back.
He gives you an odd look.
"Huh?!
L-Listen, I promise that I'll stop.
Okay?"

You shake your head.
"No need.
Go for it if you so desire.
Both of you went through weirder stuff anyway."

"R-really?"
He gives you a quizzical look.

"Of course.
It's your business, not mine.
I can't really stop you and even if I tried the only thing I'd achieve is a kick in the teeth by Alex.
Why? What did you think I'd do?"

"I don't know!
Get mad? Lecture me?
Not even I know how I feel about this so how would I know your reaction to it?"

You sigh once more and let go of him.
"Life sucks enough without me making it worse for you.
So go and enjoy it as much as you can before it's too late.
Hell, I'd kill for some peace and quiet with all this shit back home."

"I guess all that stuff with the Arrancar did not get better."

"You have no idea..."

Both of you are silent once more.
After another few minutes however Asher asks a question.

"H-how do you think I should do it?
I mean I was never even interested in girls before and..."
His eyes move around awkwardly.
"So, you know, can you help with that?"

"You just do things as you'd normally and when you feel like the time is right you make your intentions clear.
It's a natural thing and you are heading down the right path as is.
You don't need my help."

"Well thanks for nothing then."

"I said that I'm okay with it, not that I'd help you.
You need to man up and do things yourself!
But before you do at least consider the consequences, okay?"

"I can only try..."

"That's all I'm asking."

Asher looks like he is lost in thought.
You put both of your hands behind your head as you lay on the car in a more relaxed manner.
"Man it's a shame you are a priest and that I'm dead because otherwise I'd take you out for a night on the town filled with booze and cigarettes.
Maybe I could put some hair on your chest!"

He laughs heartily as he begins to relax as well.

Good luck finding a way to kick yourself out of your body in order to fuck Alex.

When Asher regains his stamina he stands up and dusts himself off.
You follow his example and watch as he gets in his car.
"So what are you going to do now?"

"Go back to the church, get a nice bath and tell everyone that if they wake me up I'll smite them with the power of God."

"Sounds like a good plan.
Take care when you drive my boy."

"Huh?
Are you going to go home?"

You shake your head.
"Not yet.
Since I'm here I figure I'll go and check some stuff out for myself."

He reaches out of the car for a handshake.
You return the gesture and say your farewells.

After he leaves you take off into the sky and begin roaming around the place at your maximum speed.
You fly over the sea, leaving England behind.
It would have been easier if you used the Garganta but this way you could enjoy the scenery.
Belgium flew past you as you reached Germany and once there you slowed down greatly.

What you saw was displeasing to say the least.
A country decimated and exhausted after the war.
The conditions of the everyman were incredibly bad since the country was almost crippled by debt.
But what made you angrier than anything was the fact that the country was neatly cut in half, leaving it partially in the hands of the communists.
If you witnessed these conditions a few years ago then you might have been overcome with rage but now the only thing you feel is sadness.

After observing the state of the country for several hours you were overcome with curiosity.
You wanted to know the state of your former home, Berlin.
In order to save some time you opened up the Garganta and got there in a matter of minutes.
When you stepped out you saw what became of the once mighty center of the empire.

A husk of its former self the once great city has been cut in two and one of its halves were thrown into the jaws of the communist hordes.
On one hand the city was occupied by the allied forces while on the other you had the red army stationed.
You were greatly displeased to say the least.

Not wishing to stay here longer than needed you took off to your destination, your old house.
Luckily for you the building was located in western Berlin so you didn't have to bear the sight of the Russian scumbags on the eastern end but it still took quite a lot of restraint on your part not to blow up some allied soldiers out of habit.

You took a leisurely stroll through the nooks and crannies of the city until you found the location of your former home.
What you found was not surprising at all.

There was not even a trace of the building you once lived in.
Perhaps it was destroyed during one of the bombings or perhaps during the occupation, it doesn't really matter.
What matters is that there is not even a brick which would show you that there was a building here to begin with.

You think back of the times when you were still alive and lived here with your wife.
The thought of it being gone without a trace brings a tear to your eye.
Without acknowledging it you pull your hat down to cover up your eyes a bit.
As you turn around to open a Garganta however something unexpected happens.

A brilliant blue light obscures your vision as a familiar arrow darts past you.
Though it startled you a bit it did no actual damage as it flew past right in front of your eyes.
You turn to your right to look your attacker in the eyes.

A middle aged man with graying hair is standing at a fairly large distance from you.
He looks at you with a serious look and then speaks up.
"I don't know what manner of creature are you but you don't belong here."
He says as he pulls his hand back, preparing another projectile.

How do you react?
>Leave without a word.
>Threaten him.

"And you do? This place was once my home, Quincy, so what gives you the right to say that I can't come here to see what remains of it?"
You speak back to your assailant.

He doesn't seem to be amused.
"I warned you."
The quincy then releases the notched arrow.

The projectile flies towards your head as you observe its flight path and the structure of its spirit particles.
Rather than dodging it like you did before you raise up your right index finger and swipe the arrow with it.
As your finger connects with the tip of the arrows head the accumulated reishi disperses as it collides with your Híerro.

His eyes open wide as he sees you destroying his attack.
"Impossible!"

He looks terrified.
If you attack him now he might even try to flee

See We really HAVE been gone a long time if this is what passes for hospitality.

For the reccord, I'm an arrancar. We do not need to eat human souls

At some point in time we should tell him that he is not worth our time.

That will really fuck with them.

>Writing.

You look at him like you would at an ant.
And rather than attacking him physically you'd rather destroy him with words only.
"I'll ask it one more time and this time I want an answer Quincy.
What made you insignificant pissant think that you can order me around?"

The shadow of death looms over the man and he knows it.
He doesn't answer you and instead it looks like he's looking for a way out of this situation.

You take a few steps forward and as the your trenchcoat is blowing in the wind your features are slowly disappearing in the eyes of the man.
In a few moments all he sees is your silhouette, a black figure with eyes full of rage.

"Listen up quincy and listen up good!
I'll ask one more question and if you don't answer to this one either I'll kill you this instant.
Speak and I'll let you return to your worthless life!
What happened to the building that was here?!"

He begins to sweat as he looks over you.
"I-I don't know, I swear!
I heard that the buildings were demolished after they were deemed uninhabitable.
One of the bombings hit this neighborhood pretty hard. That's when it must have happened."

You look away from him and look at the now empty space which was at one point your home.
"Get out!
You're not even worth my time!"

The man then makes a sound you can't quite make out.
It sounded like he almost choked on his own saliva after hearing you ordering him to scram.
The rate of his breathing is slowly but steadily increasing.

After tripping on his own leg as he tried to back away from you he gets up and then starts running away from you as fast as he can.
You can hear the sound of his shoes hitting the walkway as he gets further and further away from you.
When the coast is clear you give a final glance of that particular spot of empty space and then open up the Garganta.

ah well, Poor Kaisar.

Being kaizar itis suffering, either shit sucks for depressing reasons, or some fool is being a disrespectful twat

On your way back you are still rubbing your eyes.
They are definitely still red after all this but they are getting better.
When you step through the portal outside the borders of the forest a familiar figure greets you.

"Welcome back.
Where have you been?"
It's Harribel sitting on a rock.

"I took a stroll."

"You were gone for several hours..."

"It was a very enthusiastic walk.
And what are You doing here?"

"I had enough of everyone gawking at me.
I needed some peace and quiet."

You pull your hat down to cover your eyes.
"I'll leave you to it then."

"You don't have to leave.
I doubt you'll bother me that much."

You take her on her offer and sit down at the opposite end of the rock, facing away from her.
You don't feel like going in the village until it's guaranteed that they won't notice how upset you are.
There are several minutes of absolute silence between the two of you until Harribel speaks up.

"You know, if you want to cover up the fact that you teared up it's easier to close your eyes.
Pulling your hat over them will only attract the attention of others."

You chuckle a little at that.
"For being the sneakiest person around here, I sure suck at being subtle."

"Nobody is perfect."

"True."
You are trying to figure out something to speak about if only to occupy yourself.
"So, getting accustomed yet?"

"Not really.
It's strange being around this many people."

"And your comrades?"

"They are enjoying themselves.
But Apacci seems to be a but tense surrounded by so many males."

"Yeah, about that.
What's the deal with her?"

"She's just like that."

Well, this isn't going anywhere.

I just realized, this is likely in the early 70s, since we are dealing with Germany still being seperated and HIV becoming a thing in Europe, that would point to the late 60's early 70's, which means......

... Apacci could be the hollowfied form of a bra-burning hippy feminist!

Possibly, although male hollows take great joy in eating and degrading female ones.(king spoopy at work) So that's likely why she's leery of guys.

Also that would mean that Asher is pushing 30, after spending his whole life training for the priesthood.....

We need to get that poor boy laid, he really needs get to work on taking Alex out on a nice date or four and court her properly for a year or two, then have a nice wedding and such. Then MAYBE for the purpose of procreation, or like on his Birthday or something.

Our daughter-fu a pure!

Then again she might end up jumping HIS bones.....

O-our son-bondo a.... pure?

Oh God we can't stop the lewd can we?!

You know, when I was reading through the archives, I was at first MASSIVELY annoyed at how off the power levels were
Your average vasto is supposed to be able to match and kill the majority of captains with little trouble
But i've gotten over that because this is a good quest.

Yeah I remember we had that explained, I was just cracking a joke for an "Oh God the Horror" moment.

Gender can be kinda hard to tell with some hollows, what if it turns out someone like Dodonchaka is a girl but no one ever asked and her Adjucha form is too androgynous to tell.....

Oh God.... more horror.....

user please. We know not what monster we're making just yet.

problem is it's shown that Hollows of ANY level get BTFO by a captain in shikai, much less bankai. The previous generations of captains were just scrubs.

That argument lost all meaning when the Espada who were made from Adjuchas and Vasto class menos jobbed to captains.

Honestly powerlevels in general were nonsense in Bleach.
Fuck Kubo

You are not sure how to break the ice with her.
She seems to be reluctant to share information about herself unless you ask her.
And it's also likely that if you asked the wrong question the wrong way she might not even answer.

You scratch the back of your head as you are pondering on the details.
But after failing to come up with anything you speak up boldly.
"So what's the story with them?
How did you meet such "devoted" followers."

She turns her head in your direction and looks at you from the corner of her eyes.
"I saved them from other hollows who would've harmed them.
They stuck with me ever since.
Why? How did you meet yours?"

"They were mostly chance encounters.
But you are speaking of it like it was nothing.
Isn't there a story to tell?"

She snickers a little at that.
"Why would there be?
Do you think I rescued them like damsels in distress from a foul villain?
Technically that's correct but it wasn't that grandiose."

You shrug a little.
"I just hoped I was the only one who met them under such normal circumstances."

"Normality is a welcome change in a world as twisted as this.
I take pleasure in the fact that friendships can blossom even in such environments."

You smile a little.
"Amen."

"I didn't take you for a religious person Kaizar."

"I'm not.
It just slipped my tongue.
But are you saying that you have no fun stories to tell?
I had a few wacky adventures."

"I...
I don't have such things.
Life was simple for me, for us.
It was a matter of survival and I was thankful for every calm day.
There were killings, lots of those, but nothing out of the ordinary."

"And what about your life?
Do you remember that?"
You ask her in as much of a respectful tone as you can.

"I... don't like to think about that.
The memories are... painful."

You pause a little.
"Amen."

To be fair, tier jobbed to some random
hammerhead minion of king spooky

>The previous generations of captains were just scrubs
Actually they're considered the "standard" IC. It's just that the current batch are the strongest overall since the Old Man came into command. Even Shitsugaya's supposedly above average.

I hope Spooky can balances it out, it would make it more interesting and enjoyable, for me at least.

His done fine so well. Hate faith.

papa bless.

Afterwards neither of you really speak.
It took quite a lot of consideration from your part but you suppose there's no way around it.
With a heavy sigh you begin speaking.

"I remember being in my office, doing paperwork."
Harribel turns her head once more.

"I heard the phone ringing and rushed to pick it up as it was late at night and I didn't receive any calls unless it was important.
What I heard shocked me.
It was the hospital.
They said that my wife entered labor.
So naturally I ran outside and got in my car.
It was dark outside and it hailed pretty hard.
All it took for the car to go out of control was a single mistake on my part.
It happened so fast that I didn't even realize that I died.
I rushed to the hospital only to witness my wife dying during the childbirth and my son being born dead.
And that's pretty much it. Everything that happened since seems insignificant in comparison."

You look silently at the ground before you.
Meanwhile Harribel keeps staring at you from the corner of her eye.
Her gaze shifts forward and she starts to clear her throat.

"I-I..."
Her voice cracks a bit.
"I was in the process of giving birth, it was a long and painful procedure.
And somewhere, deep down in my core, I knew that either I'm going to perish in the process or my baby will.
I struggled for hours with it but in the end I was successful.
My only regret is that I couldn't hold her in my hands before the exhaustion took me."

You look up at her only to see her smothering a tear with her free arm.

"I... I'm sorry."

She sighs heavily before answering.
"Don't be.
It was my decision and I never regretted it."

In the deafening silence you manage to chuckle a bit.
"Look at me!
I sat down hoping that I'd calm down a little.
And now here I am, bawling like a child."

"Tell me..."
She speaks up.
"Why do men assume that crying is a weakness?
I believe it only shows that you are still human."

You smile at her in surprise as tears run down your cheeks.

Oh yeah. Wonder what will happen to him anyway

Uhoh..... Is.... is Sharktits secretly our wife? It sounds like she may have changed the story.... just enough to not be too on the nose.

Could also just be a similar story as well.

Doubtful. That's would be a shitty obvious twist. More likely our stories just mesh well with each other. Plus I'm pretty sure she vasto'd before we died, at least.

Nah, she'd have to have beten us to Vasto some how, which seems impossible considering how fast we made it

Shartit's hollowhole is canonically in her womb, making her incapable to ever have children.

Makes sense her story is about failing to be a mother which she still desperately wants and uses her fraccion as surrogates for. Plus her dark skin in naziland would have gotten her killed.

Okay, yeah see, I'm gonna have to stop you riiiiight there. Why are we telling this stranger who we've known for like a week, tops, about something so deep and personal that we have not told our oldest friend? Hell, we probably wouldn't have even told Nel this for a few more years (or decades), so why are we telling this to Sharktits? Hell, why is SHE telling US about HER deep and personal reason why she went Hallow? Spooky, please tell me you aren't just pandering to the waifu fags. This quest was going so well. Please, just don't do this, especially when Sharktits will be the first out of EVERYBODY we know to know this.

After smiling for a while you look away from her.
You begin rubbing your eyes with the sleeve of your coat as you hear Harribel standing up behind you and walking.
She comes in front of you and extends her left arm to you.
You take her hand and she helps you stand up.

She looks you in the eye and begins talking.
"Thank you for sharing that with me."

"No.
Thank you."

After taking a few deep breaths to calm your nerves you speak up.
"Shall we go back?
Hopefully everything didn't fall apart the moment we left the place."
She nods and starts following your lead.

On the way back you try looking at her but every time you look at her curves you can't help but quickly look away.
She quickly catches on and starts teasing you a little.

"I didn't take you for a shy person."

You tuck your hands into your pockets, close your eyes and feel the blood rushing to your cheeks.
"Yeah, yeah, very funny."

She chuckles a little as she keeps going.
"Are you actually blushing?
Even your gills have a faint pink hue to them.
How adorable."

"I was crying, remember?"

As you are getting closer to the forest people begin rushing you.
Amongst them are a few of your citizens and the Tres Bestias.
"Mistress Harribel!
Where were you?"

"I was just getting some fresh air."

The other hollows come to you.
"Welcome back Chief!"

"Report!
Has anything happened while I was gone?"

"No sir!
Oh wait, yes.
Lady Neliel has left with Señor Dordoni in order to find other Menos."

"Thank you.
Dismissed."

There's some comradeship there both knew what it took to become lords and have to watch out for weaklings., it ain't waifu fags. Don't like shit, go run you're own quest.

>Find your crew and have a chat.

Didn't we promise to have some ale or something with them anyway?

Because only a vasto can fucking understand what it *means*. We get it, you're a hardcore anti-waifufag and are going to REEEEEEEEEE as hard as you can against it. I get it. But it does make sense that we'd open up to possibly the only other person who remembers their past life as well as we do, considering most hollows tend to ignore/forget their past lives, whereas vastos, in order to *become* vastos, need to dwell on it and move past it/accept it/become apathetic

>"Harribel how about we make you an Arrancar?"
We should probably explain to her that if she doesn't do it before Aizen does, then she'll be some kind of slave

>"Harribel how about we make you an Arrancar?"

>Go check on the remaining Espada and discuss things.
>"Harribel how about we make you an Arrancar?

>Find your crew and have a chat.

Was going to vote to have a chat with our friends but makes a good point.

It's probably more important to make sure Shark friend that doing it the Aizen way makes you a slave, no doubt it involves the plot rock in some fashion.

Better for her to just rip it off herself and be sure of her own freedom.

Forgot to vote, stupid of me.

>"Harribel how about we make you an Arrancar?

>>"Harribel how about we make you an Arrancar?"
It will hurt. As you are ostensibly ripping your face off.

No, that was not sharing between comrades. Telling her about our daughter or Asher would be sharing between comrades. Us telling her how we met the Porkster or the rest of the gang would be sharing between comrades. Her telling us about how she met her gang would be sharing between comrades. But we just basically bared our soul to her. Us telling her about something so deep and personal that we haven't told Pesci, who can be considered our closest friend and whom we've known for decades, is not sharing between comrades, especially when we've only known her for such a short period of time. And her doing the same to us, with how cautious and guarded she seems? I'm calling bullshit. I have no problem waifuing her, IF we're going to waifu ANYBODY, but for fuck's sake, at least have some character interaction besides "hey, come join our Reich MK.II if you want."

See
For my reasoning against "Hey, want to know my deepest source despair that made me a hollow?" "Sure, but only if I get to tell you mine!"
It's not that I'm against it, it's just too early. We need to have some time to develop the relationship and learn about eachother before dropping that fucking huge bomb out of nowhere

Pretty sure we lost some respect/trust in them when they all jumped on board Aizen's fucking wagon without thinking it over. Also didn't he forget what killed him? So we could never share at all with him. However eh, live and let live.

Now I'm neither of those guys, but Kaizar was having a moment, and people do dumb things when they have moments. And her, being a very compassionate person deep down and being a person herself felt the need to reciprocate the beans we just spilled. Like how in reality sometimes someone says something and you feel the urge to say something you've experienced along those lines.

People are irrational. Being hollows doesn't mean they aren't people. Just relax. I get where you're coming from but just like in reality, shit just happens sometimes.

You quickly glance over your surroundings and see that nobody is around here at the moment.
This is the perfect opportunity for you.

You turn to the four of them and speak up.
"I think it's time."

"For what exactly?"
Harribel asks.

"For you to become Arrancars."

They all look at you with a shocked expression.
"HEY!
What's that supposed to means?!"
Apacci explodes.
"You are speaking like we agreed to anything!
And if you asked we MIGHT have agreed but now I'll say no just to spite you."

Harribel looks at her.
"Apacci!"
She turns her attention to you.
"What do you mean by that?
You said that we have some time until then."

"True and you don't have to agree but this is in your best interest.
I already told you that Aizen won't let you go free like that."

"Yes, that much I understand."

"And you have two options.
You can either let him do it for you or I can help with it.
Only one of these options will provide you with any form of autonomy.
I won't expect anything in return, I simply want to make sure that he doesn't mess with you in any way or that you won't be bound to him."

She closes her eyes and thinks for a moment.
"Very well.
Let's get it over with."

"Miss Harribel!?"

She ignores Apacci.
"Tell me, what should I expect?"

"It'll hurt.
A lot."
You signal them to follow you.

The Tres Bestias however stand in your way.
Harribel speaks up.
"What are you doing?"

"Mistress...
If you truly wish to do this...
Then I can't let you bear this burden alone!"
Mila Rose speaks up.
"And these two think the same way!"

"That's obvious you moron."
Sung-Sun berates her.

It seems that they indeed want to protect Harribel just as much as she wishes to guard them.
You overlook the three of them and see their determination.
It's just as Harribel predicted.

"Very well.
Then please follow me."

With the four Menos in tow you make your way to the base of the large quartz tree.
