This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.
(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)
Last thread, Tsuki Norihime met her interim instructor and underwent some extensive training. Her sensei should be returning soon, and both her teammates and herself are waiting….
Sebastian Roberts
Two months. For two months, you and your teammates had worked hard, doing your best to improve yourselves- the chunin exams were imminent. In a little over a month, it would be time to begin the examinations. You had seen little of your potential competition from Konoha- many of them had been out on some mission or another- and while your team and been upkeeping their fair share of D-ranked missions in Itachi-sensei’s absence, you know many of your fellow Genin teams had progressed to undertaking regular C-ranked missions. While you HAD undertaken a single joint mission with Team Guy, it hardly seemed to count with two Jonin present.
You only hope you have the chance to prove yourselves in the upcoming weeks- you will not tolerate falling behind!
------------------------------
It’s afternoon when Itachi-sensei comes calling; you know he probably had to report to the Fourth, but really, must he keep a lady such as yourself waiting? He must know better than that, surely.
Your outfit is pristine- your hair, perfect. It would simply not do to not look your best to meet him after all this time.
You sneak down into the foyer- there he is, waiting. How should you greet him?
1. Casually. No need for fanfare or ceremony. 2. Respectfully. Only appropriate for your sensei. 3. With affection. You missed him! 4. With a bit of attitude. He kept you waiting! He deserves it.

Oh hey! First time catching the thread! Awesome! Alright so this has been bugging me for a while, people talk about summons, but keep saying tsuki needs to find a scroll. From what I remember, that isn't COMPLETELY true, just the normal way, there's a more dangerous method where you perform the summoning contract without a scroll, and get reverse-summoned to the home of the summon family most suited to you, and depending on how they test you and what they think of you, they give you a scroll allowing you to summon a number of their family Jiraiya did this, and wound up at mount myoboku, where he gained the "Noble" toad contract, allowing him to summon any of the toads, he then came back, told orochimaru and tsunade, and they did the same thing Did nobody else mention this or did I just skip over it while reading the archives?

“Itachi-sensei! I’m glad you’re back!” you say from the top of the stairs, announcing your presence. You walk down the stairs slowly, making sure to keep composed.
You catch his eyes, and he smiles.
“Tsuki. Sorry I kept you waiting- both Jiraiya and I spent longer than either of us thought informing the Fourth of every minutiae of our trip.”
Jiraiya. Looks like you’ll be skipping the bathhouse this week…
“Nonsense, sensei! I’m just happy you’ve returned safely.” you respond, stepping off the stairs onto the main floor. You cast your gaze quickly around the room- Danzo is in the basement, as he always is when people visit. Maru announced Itachi’s visit, but is nowhere to be seen, and Father is, as always, in his study.
“You shouldn’t worry so much, Tsuki. I don’t want you to be worrying about me- otherwise, I’m not doing my job as your sensei!” he chuckles.
Idiot.
“Don’t tell a lady she can’t worry, Mr. Uchiha. That will only make her worry more.” you pout.
He just laughs, although his posture is conciliatory.
“I trust your training under Anko went well?” he finally asks.
It…

“Training went well enough….. Although, I didn’t really spend all that much time with Anko, I admit. The time I did spend with her was educational, though. You made a good choice.” you answer.
“I never expected you to spend the whole eight weeks with her, but I’m glad my choice has your approval!” he laughs. “How did the others take it?” “Well, I never really saw Nori, to be honest. We met up for missions, of course, but she had her own training regimen that she was following. Hinata seemed to take to her quickly, though. Even learned how to summon snakes!” you answer.
“I figured one of you three might take her up on the summoning contract. I thought it would be you, though, so I suppose your sensei was wrong this time.” he chuckles.
“I didn’t turn her down outright, but I don’t like to limit my choices, sensei. Although it’s nice to hear you’re thinking about me…” you say, not trying particularly hard to hide your smug grin.
From somewhere in the house, you hear a cough.
…...where did that come from?
Carson Bell
“By the way, Tsuki, I’ll tell you since I’m here. Nori already knows, since she was with her Father, but I’ve taken a mission for us.” Itachi says, getting back to business.
“...a mission? Already? I’m not complaining, but shouldn’t you rest up a bit?” you say with concern.
“I’ll be just fine, Tsuki. Besides…. I want to see how much you’ve grown.” he says with a confident smile.
Feh, this idiot. He knows how to press your buttons, all right…
“Fine, fine. What’s the rank of this mission? C again?” you inquire.
“B-rank. We’ll be heading to the Land of Wind- make sure to pack some comfy clothes! Oh, and I hope you don’t mind sand.” he says somewhat casually.
“.....B-rank? Are you sure?”
You’re actually a little worried….
“We’ll be fine. Remember what I said? Don’t worry. Now, I need to get going and tell Hinata before the night is up. Do us all a favor and pack light- we won’t have Guy and Lee to carry our things, this time.” he says, before bidding you good night.
You see him out, but you’re still a bit in shock- a B-rank mission? I guess you’ll get to prove yourself after all……
You…

First thing’s first- you go hunt down Danzo.
He’s in his room… although you could’ve swore it was him who coughed…
You quickly brief him on your new mission and destination.
“The Land of Wind… hmm. Pack light. Don’t wear dark clothing, and make sure you have water on hand. Wear some goggles, if you have them. The sand will get into almost anything if you let it. As for the shinobi of Sunagakure… avoid them if possible. The are a bitter and untrustworthy lot, even if the Fourth has sent them diplomatic overtures.” he advises, drinking deeply of his nightly tea.
Nodding, you bid Danzo goodnight, and head upstairs to talk to Father.
You find him hard at work, as usual, though he is quick to acknowledge your presence.
“Heading out again, my dear? Be safe! Those deserts are sweltering, and exhaustion is as big as a danger as anything else. I’ll have Maru prepare you some dried foods to keep your spirits up! As for the people of that country…. I haven’t had much dealing with them. The sand gets into the machinery, rendering it useless- as such they aren’t frequent customers. Let me know if you find anything interesting!” Father exclaims with his usual enthusiasm.
With that out of the way, you have some things to consider.
Do you have something wish to ask either of these men? (On Topic)

If we do, we'll need to use it only in our normal persona, not our ROOT one. It does synergize well with our genius specialty though. Maybe wait till chunin until we start?
Joshua Stewart
I don't like it because we're already doing some other things and it's a specialisation demanding a lot of investment but I like that their mechanisms are (relatively) simple but work with the chackra strings. If we want to achieve fixed results in some gizmos we could use chakra conducting metal to emulate chakra strings with a lesser liberty on control but requiring less concentration. Essentially, fuck sevromotors, just telekinesic that shit with chakra without thinking too much about how since you just dump chackra into the plug of the gadget.
Nathan Taylor
I LIKE the idea, but I think it should wait until chunin at least. Possibly jounin.
