What's the worst drama your LGS has ever had Veeky Forums?
A few days ago it came out that one of the owners of my LGS was arrested for having real CP on his computers, it seems like he's out of the picture now but I'm worried about how likely the store is to survive considering most of the business is done with parents and children. Really a shame because the store is so much more comfy than the other alternatives.
Sorry your lgs owner was a bastard and ruined it for you, op. Maybe you can buy the store and have a new life managing you passion project? Or still hopefully somebody else will take over and save the place.
It was a joint business project so hopefully things will work out fine, seems to be a bit in disarray at the moment in regards to employees as the dude and his wife have obviously resigned and fucked off after this was all found out.
Incredibly ballsy to run and open a gaming store that heavily deals with children while you've got pending CP court charges though.

Probably for the best that way, they need to distance themselves as much as possible from the drama. A lot of pissy parents on the Facebook page and bad reviews acting as if he molested their children, more will only come I imagine unless something more is done too.

The smart move would be to formally resign and hand the store over to another person. He can still keep the store ownership, just not be the face of it anymore.
To answer your question - our LGS is co-joined with a pub, and our country has some really weird legislative when it comes to restaurant regulations ("restaurant" being "anything that serves food"). We had inspection, it got pretty dramatic.

The worst look I've ever gotten from the store owner is when I started reading the back of one of their adventure path books without buying it. I stopped as soon as I realized why he was mad.
I guess that was just my absentmindedness at work.

B. the people that came up with the idea just wanted to have an excuse to play 40k at work & basically took all the warhammer stuff with them & ran when they were fired
A regular at the flgs went around to other regulars to advertise for his game shop he was about to open. At the original flgs. Pretty douchy to poach like that.
Basically that seems to be what's currently happened.

During a bad hurricane (bad enough they made it temporarily illegal to drive around unless going to a hospital) lgs was broken into and robbed. They had security camera video of it. Guy who robbed it definitely was a regular because he knew where all the expensive binders were right away.
Stole all the expensive mythics/rares and a few cases of boosters. Was never caught as for as I know.
A sweaty ginger bastard assaulted me with his sales pitch. He really wanted to sell me a playmat. So many different playmats and he wouldn't give up. I mean jesus I don't want your overly large mousepads.

The only way to save that store would be to rebrand it completely with a new name and all that, and emphasize its run by new owners. The old brand will never get rid of that stigma. Ever.
But I wouldn't expect smart business decisions from LGS owners.
I had an LGS that went from full LGS paradise to used vidya/DVD and piercings shop that also sells Magic cards.
That sucks, I've seen it happen with a few places too. The returns on sealed card product aren't that great so unless the shop has a way to recoup costs either by charging to play or food/drink it can be hard.
They used to sell wargaming stuff, RPGs and accessories, board games, and all that fun stuff in addition to card games, but slowly the owner decided there wasn't any money in any of it and now it's a ghetto rat hangout.
No one goes there for the Veeky Forums stuff anymore. And the worst part? They still advertise themselves as a games shop.
Poaching especially like that is really scummy but how else do you spread the word? LGS's seem like a bitch to advertise. It's incredibly hard to know if any new places open up unless you're actively searching for a new one.
No. Mostly it was "epic battle scenes" or this one with a slightly chubby druid woman riding giant catfish. I almost got that one, but it was 40 dollars.

I've just had shit like pic related, it's always women being whores to rip up gaming stores and their groups though.
I know of two LGS in my state that were deeply in debt, only to vanish in the middle of the night. A few days later a new game store would open the next town over, or even just up the fucking street.

Just some autism from some of the regulars who didn't understand that gaming stores are a business, not their homes. After a couple of banning most of them got the message that you need to bathe before coming and that harassing other customers is a bad idea even if they're buying products you hate.

Christ, that makes my eyes bleed just trying to read. Personally I've found girls to be a lot less of an issue in real life than online in regards to game drama but I guess that's more because of the other players not being as pathetic.
