Why aren't you playing an aasimar/tiefling kitsune with full plate and a greatsword?

Because I'm playing a TWF'ing Elven vampire harbinger.

Do you want to play a Path of War initiator (full or partial)?
Do you prefer text-only games?
Are you highly tolerant of weeaboo token art?
Do you believe that dedicated roleplaying and heavy optimization are NOT mutually exclusive?
Are you interested in a game set in the bazaar of the bizarre, Katapesh?

If so, then this might be the game for you:
pastebin.com/dyRApYW3

There is a catch. This will be a small group with only two players and one GM. One player slot has already been reserved. They are a dedicated roleplayer, but also very meticulous with the rules. You will have to be patient with them. There is only one player slot left.

Fuck off 2hu.

>Banning Broken Blade is pretty much shitting on any guy who wanted to make an unarmed initiator and it's a legit fun to use discipline.
>what is Fool's Errand?

Anyone got homebrew VMC stuff for DSP classes?

Something in playtest that still doesn't really make unarmed competitive with just using a weapon.

Especially when you can just use a weapon with Fools Errand.

>tfw no VMC for stregone

Why the fuck was this thread created do early? For what purpose?

Daily reminder that DSP is turning into Paizo-style fascists every day for nerfing perfectly balanced disciplines into oblivion.

Rising Zenith Strike becoming "lol just Sense Motive to force a hit" with no double damage is garbage. It's worthless if that's the errata.

Now hold on a sec there, Broken Blade IS broken and THAT deserves a nerf.

Anyone who wants to be an unarmed specialist should just go with Fool's Errand.

Some Fool's Errand maneuvers need unarmed attacks.

Because the concept of an oni and a kitsune pairing is a little too weird even for my magical realm.

Oni bloodline teifling for the win.

Fuck off, it's you fucking fun-hating retards who keep complaining they're broken.

>Now hold on a sec there, Broken Blade IS broken and THAT deserves a nerf.

When used with a 2 handed weapon..

It's fucking fine when using unarmed strikes with it.

Thrashing Dragon as a whole discipline will get entirely and utterly worthless if Battle Dragon Stance is nerfed. That stance was the sole saving grace of the discipline, which is almost pure garbage otherwise. Moreover, even the current iteration of Battle Dragon Stance is objectively inferior to Elemental Nimbus, making the sole thought of nerfing it preposterous.
I mean, 2d4 non-stacking easy-to-heal bleed as a 8th level stance? REALLY?

>It's fucking fine when using unarmed strikes with it.
You still get 18d6+unarmed strikes damage at lvl 5 by comboing a stance, a boost, and steel flurry strike.

>Because the concept of an oni and a kitsune pairing

But they can be cute fiendish foxboys.

>MUH SENSE MOTIVE +55 FREE CRITICAL HIT IS TOTALLY FINE
>BUT SOME NIGGAS GOING FULL KENSHIRO, BROKEN

How much would I be shooting myself in the foot if I were to roll up a level 3 character that's an OD Warder that dips Stalker for 1 level?
I want a specific Art really bad.
I think I read that initiator levels stack through multiclassing or something?
Never multiclassed two initiators before. Please advise.

So one maneuver is worth throwing the whole discipline out?

No crits with Rising Zenith Strike.

...

...

Is Archer Magus still strong?
My group is missing an arcane character, so i'm considering one.

Alright 2hu, we know you're involved. Are you the player, or the EDM? And is the other person anyone we know? Answers will affect whether you get applicants.

Yo, /pfg/ i have a concept for a my gnome character and i need some help: In his background he was bullied in his town because he has very low magic abilities so i need some advice in class, traits for dealt with mages which also suits a manly gnome, thanks in advance.

Because I'm playing the setting's equivalent of a professional Blood Bowl blitzer.

...

Eldritch Archer magus is best arcane archer we've ever had. Learn it. Love it.

You wanna tell me where you're getting these ideas from?

We are not certain other companies that will remain nameless. Thrashing Dragon is being approached holistically, with an eye to getting it to fulfill its own niche. Battle Dragon Stance is is too strong as-is, but the other half of the problem is much of the rest of the discipline is awkward, weak, and/or doesn't actually deliver what was promised.

Y'all know how to start my mornings. How's it, /pfg/?

The DM is some kitsune faggot, 2hu is the player. These two things I know for sure.

>the DM is Augunas
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

Hopefully not Colette, because Colette as a GM means every NPC is a gay kitsune shota with mommy issues.

>Battle Dragon Stance is is too strong as-is,
No matter how you look at it, Elemental Nimbus is essentially a direct upgrade to it (with the only drawback being elemental damage). How is that okay while Battle Dragon isn't okay?
Elemental Flux has the highest damage potential of all PoW disciplines as well as having nice counters and good utility. It has it all and is far too good.
How is this allowed?

Wait, I thought 2hu was Colette?

Don't take all their comments at face value m8, some of it is baseless and they're castershit fuckers who despise martials and don't want them to have fun things.

>Shotas
>Not loving their ara ara oneechans
HERESY

>You wanna tell me where you're getting these ideas from?

Rising Zenith Strike is perfectly fine and balanced, Gareth.

It's no worse than Rapid Strike.

>You wanna tell me where you're getting these ideas?
Allowing shitty writers like Sslarn to ruin projects, making bad content because of personal greivances (CHAbringer, never doing antipaladins, Solar Wind, Tempest Gale, wanting to errata actually fun classes like ZweiSent), the turd that is Akashic Mysteries, making basically non-functional abilities like the Host of Heroes Rite of Passage, the entirety of Piercing Thunder being bad, letting multiple cool projects die in the dirt...

Oh, then there's shoving out errata/'fixing' things on the level of Paizo where no fixes were really needed at all, the generally shitty attitude that some of the DSP devs express towards people, and just a lot of shit you all have been doing lately.

You guys really need to stop knee-jerk nerfing shit for no real reason just because 1-2 people meme hard about it.

Gareth!
Just the man I wanted to badger about inconsequential rules nonsense!
I've read up on PoW systems and use in regards to multiclassing and initiation and the gist of it makes total sense. The Stalker 7/Warlord 5 example being a "9th" level Stalker and an "8th" level Warlord clicks just fine in my brain.
However, what happens if we have a Stalker 2/Warlord 1?
Is the Stalker "3rd" because half of 1 level is still 1, or would half of 1 level just become nothing and the Stalker's initiator level would be 2nd?

I think he was more asking where the details of those nerfs came from user.

Forrest in IRC.

Guys, I'm tired.
I'm just so tired.
I'm just so fucking tired.
End it.
End it now.
End me.
End my suffering.
Put me out of my misery.
I cannot take it anymore.
It's too much.
It's killing me.
I'm tired of kemonomimi waifu homebrew.

>We are not certain other companies that will remain nameless.

You mean Drop Dead Studios?

Forrest is legitimately autistic and not really good at this shit. Why are you listening to him?

Am I the only one who really likes arcforge?

I think he was referring to "where are you getting these ideas of how things are being rebalanced from"

Yes

That doesn't answer my question. As far as I'm aware, we've released no part of this errata unless you'd like to count Fool's Errand.

Let us presume for a moment that this is true, and I say 'presume' because I have twenty minutes to get ready for work and I'm not about to spend them crunching the numbers between the two stances: that doesn't make either of them acceptable, it'd just mean that Nimbus had mistakes made.

I'll reiterate, again, that unlike /some companies/, /which shall remain nameless/, our intent is to release the proposed errata for testing and feedback before it's finalized and the PDFs updated. That'll give you, the community, time to evaluate it, check it for further mistakes of grammar/math/concepts/insanity, and see edits happen to it before it ends up potentially affecting your lives. That also means that there'll be warning at every stage of this process for the folks that wish to preserve the pre-errata content.

C'mon guys, we've got more respect for you than that. Where's the paranoia coming from?

Citations needed.
Please post with examples.

Arcforge was cool as shit, and it saddens me deeply that Sslarn was the one who handled it, because it could have been a lot better if it wasn't handled by a Paizo-tier developer.

>That doesn't answer my question. As far as I'm aware, we've released no part of this errata unless you'd like to count Fool's Errand.

Forrest said something about Rising Zenith losing the double damage or something like that.

You have no concept of what good is, you goddamned fucker.

Fuck you, Sslarn was good with it.

>C'mon guys, we've got more respect for you than that. Where's the paranoia coming from?
Nerfs are a scary topic.

Ssalarn please go and stay go

>EDM

Elder DM?

TL;DR user is realizing that DSP is not flawless wunderkind here to solve all their pathfinder problems, but is in fact quite quite fallible, and only special in that they actually put up with us.

>Fuck you, Sslarn was good with it.
No he wasn't the product he made was shit, and it was not upto quality, it showed no signs of improving, and DSP was totally in the right for dropping that steaming turd.

>Electronic Dance Master

Rounding in D20 always goes down unless, for some insane reason, it is specifically stated otherwise.

> making bad content because of personal greivances (CHAbringer, never doing antipaladins, Solar Wind, Tempest Gale, wanting to errata actually fun classes like ZweiSent)

Pic related

> making basically non-functional abilities like the Host of Heroes Rite of Passage

Pic still related

> the entirety of Piercing Thunder being bad

Thunder wasn't the discipline some folks wanted it to be, but that doesn't make it bad. It does its job just fine.

> letting multiple cool projects die in the dirt...

Pic so related you don't even know

> Oh, then there's shoving out errata/'fixing' things on the level of Paizo where no fixes were really needed at all

Like /what/? We've officially errata'd essentially nothing! WHAT IS IT YOU'RE COMPLAINING OF, ENRAGED user?

>Akashic Mysteries

When ARE we getting Akashic Mysteries anyway?

dancing_doggirl.gif

>Erotic Dilation Machine.

If we were to make a "perfection" of Pathfinder, what would you do?

I would:

> remove all favored class mechanics, those should have died a long time ago
> remove class skills but keep disable device and open lock as rogue-only skills
> keep skill ranks but make starting skill points equal your intelligence SCORE because that would force uneven skill buys instead of just making out in each one
> make feats a once-per-four levels thing, and remove redundant feats, make them have multiple functions
> have major and minor feats where you can pick two minor feats instead of one major
> remove 90% of bonus feats
> massively reduce class features list
> reduce complexity in as many ways as possible and aim for emergent complexity instead
> steal the HD-type-by-size idea from 5e, one of its few decent ideas
> balance out builds, allow for more types of viable martials
> restructure level-based bonuses to a single scale, kind of like proficency or 1/2 level to AC, except less fucking gay

I have no idea how I would reconcile this shit, and my last point directly fucks with my third point, which itself makes no sense in the context of Pathfinder's skill system which is different from 3.5's anyway.

But that's my "wish list". Basically less feat taxes, lower numbers to bring things more into line, just the "low power" feel of 5e but you can still get high power later.

I don't even like 5e but I like some of the ideas in it. I feel like 5e mated with 3.5 would make the best D&D, but it will never happen now.

What would you fags change abotu Pathfinder?

Every time we even mention the gif, they push the release date back another week. It's currently sometime in the 2040s

I understand that a Core Barbarian and his Unchained son fulfill slightly different roles when comparing their pros and cons. Unchained can work with two-weapon fighting or even a dex build, while Core uses Two-handed fighting very, very well.

But what about Rogues? Do Core Rogues bring anything to the table their Unchained counterpart can't?

Arcforge, Tzocatl, Akashic Mysteries, talks in this thread about ZweiSent nerfs way back, Forrest apparently claiming that Scarlet Throne will recieve nerfs, DSP having a pretty clear hatred for anything ranged with how Solar Wind/Tempest Gale work (With the exception of Elemental Flux, which works with both ranged/melee), shit like the Ravelord Harbringer being nerfed because Gareth was angry, Chabringer never existing because Gareth has a stick up his ass, Forrest repeatedly handling feedback poorly in the thread and people ending up getting into fights about it, the repeated ignoring of Steelforge suggestions for things.

>Thunder is still alright
No, it isn't. You literally never have a reason to use it over any other discipline.

>Multiple projects
Akashic, Tzocatl, Arcforge?

>Errata
We'll see how it goes. Can't really say I've got a lot of hope at the moment due to the recent track record, but we'll see. You guys have done enough good shit in the past that we all owe you at least that much.

A few specific talents.

>lower numbers to bring things more into line
Please stop

I refuse to play 5E anymore because martials in 5E end up hitting for like a fucking fourth of what martials in 3.5 do per hit against similar amounts of HP. I hate padded sumo combat with a passion.

Not Sslarn, but goddamn do you fuckers have a rampant hateboner.

Wasn't that user who was consolidating feats but promising a lot and delivering little?

>Why aren't you playing an aasimar/tiefling kitsune with full plate and a greatsword?

Because I made a bard?

>tfw I finally found the time to write out an application last night
>tfw minutes after I submitted the rough draft the power went out due to storm
>tfw the advertisement shuts down Saturday and I'll be on the road all of Friday
>tfw I don't even have my sheet completed, and I can't since it requires the finesse only a computer can give

[CAN'T WAKE UP]

>No, it isn't. You literally never have a reason to use it over any other discipline

But user, I'm using it because I wield a spear.

Why should a spearman not use the spear discipline?

Yeah, but does your bard seduce the tavern wench, the stable boy, or both?

Weapon Group Adaption

I don't get how that answers my question.

A spearman using PF, PT and EF is perfectly competent.

If you are just trying to build the absolutely strongest character you can by only picking the best options why not just make a wizard?

Matchmaker bard when?

>shit like the Ravelord Harbringer being nerfed because Gareth was angry

How did it get nerfed?

I don't know much about PoW, but I assume that's a feat or something that lets you use disciplines with weapons they weren't meant to be used with. Is that right?

Piercing Thunder should've been entirely designed around TWF'ing spears. That shit is kickass.

Wizards are banned in my games because of me

>Favored class
No, just make it so they aren't locked to specific races.
>Class skills
Class skills are fine. Mandating specific classes because of DD is a bad idea that should not be done. Rogue needs buffs to bring it up to speed.
>Feats
You're literally retarded if you think less feats is a good thing. That said, feats DO need consolidating, and a lot of things that are currently feats need to be made into basic options anyone can do. PA, Weapon Finesse/Deadly Agility, something to allow Con-based damage, and all the toggleables and +2/+2 skill feats.
>Minor feats
...Traits? You mean traits, user.
>Remove bonus feats
No.
>Reduced class features
No.
>Reduce complexity
It isn't complex? Basic Pathfinder is legitimately fairly simple. If you're seriously struggling with it, then it isn't the game for you, man. Don't kill our fun because you're dumb.
>Balance builds
...How? Define balance. How will you do it without making everything like 4e where it was all flavorless shit that was the exact same?

Yep.
Nothing beats using shit like "Whirlwind Kick" with a greatsword.

Is there any way to get Stalker Arts as a Warder without multiclassing?
I'm willing to shell out a bunch of gold for a wondrous item for this.

Then stop looking at it. God knows there are plenty of 1pp options for fuzzy-eared waifus already.

Wow, way to fucking go, asshole. Better hope we never figure out who you are.

Then why not just nerf/remove Weapon Group Adaptation? Wouldn't that also solve the problem about Broken Blade that was mentioned upthread, which is that it's fine when used with unarmed strikes but silly when used with a great sword?

It's double damage, which is what most crits do... and technically, it's even better than a crit, since it doubles things that a crit wouldn't double.

>legitimately autistic
???

>Then why not just nerf/remove Weapon Group Adaptation?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because of autism?

It won't trigger any abilities that trigger on a crit, though. I mean, if you can just kill them outright with the double damage, it doesn't matter, but how often will double-damage on a single attack kill an enemy that actually really matters?

What the fuck are you blathering about?

Because not all Disciplines are the same.

Broken Blade is obviously meant to be used unarmed. It doesn't make sense to use it's shit with a greatsword.

But saying some guy couldn't make a stabbing motion with a sword in say piercing thunder or use Solar Wind with a gun is kinda awkwrad.

Not to mention the SU disciplines that are super ultra generic but still have favored weapons. I can see a man using E. Flux with just about anything.

Broken Blade can be used with a sansetsukon.

It's been this way since it was originally released.

TWF or two-handing a spear competently.

I want to Ornstein it up.

Because some retard on their writing team added weapon limitations to disciplines that don't need them.

>don't take unofficial comments in the IRC as official, or we'll have to stop coming
>user does exactly that fucking thing
>forrest is gone now

That isn't a badge of honor, user.

Breaking what is supposed to be a collaborative storytelling game is bad form.

Piercing Thunder is 100% functional at giving spear users powerful options that let them use their weapon competently from 1-20 for the vast majority of games. Outliers where PT can't compete should not invalidate the norm.

>Implying Fool's Errand isn't even more powerful than Broken Blade except where pure DPR's concerned

Augunas is not only a fox-furry and a babyfur, but also a micro/macro fetishist.
