Why is the rulebook so expensive?

The print quality isn't even that great - the pages feel like my AD&D books

It's a big fucking book mate and they don't have the economy of scale, D&D books are smaller and have hundreds, if not thousands, in a print run which lets them print each for for cheaper, WW does Print on Demand, they only create the book when someone wants to buy it. Now, they have infrastructure to support this method to a degree but it would be much cheaper if they could just slam out 1,000 of these guys and then sell them but the market just isn't big enough.

You can see it coming into play with the Deluxe Edition, they had X many guaranteed sales at a time so they could order off a few thousand driving the cost down, I pledged like $180 bucks and that's with some addons so the Deluxe sold for, what $150? And the Premium PoD version is $145.

Scale is important here.

The paper quality of a brand new made to order book should not be WORSE than an over twenty year old mass produced book.

I was addressing the cost. And because the cost is increased, the quality to cost ratio is lower. I am not defending the quality of the physical product, merely trying to explain how it could come about.

Is the deluxe edition much different than the normal book?

You get all the benefits of two extra arms

You can hold more things, get more actions etc...

It has some disadvantages, ESPECIALLY if you're playing in a setting where you're dirt poor. The extra calories you need make it really easy to starve to death. Plus, it's a bitch when you're calculating balance and whatnot. It's also really easy to fall when you swing with with both sets, and you lose some oomph if you don't roll you're balance correctly. Though, if you're good at calculating square roots its trivial. The quadratic equations for determining how much water you need a day get wayyy more complicated though.

Though, if you pick up ambidextrous and use two shields, one on each side of you, you're virtually indestructible in lower tech settings. Use a spear in one hand and a shortsword in the other, and you're a one man phalanx. Add eyes on the back of your head, and nothings getting past your defenses. Throw in that one trait that gives you the genetic deformity that pugs have that gives them extra muscle (cant remember the name), and you're fucking stoppable and can kill everything around you until you die from calorie exhaustion

Eating before and during combat with the second stomach trait solves that easy though

As I understand it, that's 'cause the combo is to kick everyone he can see, and Creation is flat. The Imperial Mountain is the tallest thing in the setting, so that's where he can see everyone from.

Why'd he do that? He's an asshole, but he's an asshole who genuinely wants to save the Creation. Killing everyone seems kind of counterproductive, and wildly out of character.
