>What is Exalted? An epic high-flying role-playing game about reborn god-heroes in a world that turned on them. Start here: theonyxpath.com/category/worlds/exalted/
>That sounds cool, how can I get into it? Read the 3e core book (link below). For the basics of combat, read this tutorial. It'll get you familiar with most of the mechanics. forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?769761-Exalted-3E-Combat-301.
>How do I find a group? Roll20 and the Game Finder General here on Veeky Forums. With the new edition, though, chances are more games will crop up.
How much did you pay for that cheap piece of shit?
Jonathan Price
Go look yourself. They're print on demand
Carson Powell
>damaged Have you ever seen the exalted 3e book in person?
They all look like that. That's how they come, right from the press. It's because of the retarded size.
Dominic Peterson
have you ever owned a rulebook, or just pdfs?
Connor Torres
even the official picture is messed up
Landon Long
The corner on the bottom is bad, I guess that's why it's on the bottom
Liam Butler
Why is the rulebook so expensive?
The print quality isn't even that great - the pages feel like my AD&D books
Tyler Evans
It's a big fucking book mate and they don't have the economy of scale, D&D books are smaller and have hundreds, if not thousands, in a print run which lets them print each for for cheaper, WW does Print on Demand, they only create the book when someone wants to buy it. Now, they have infrastructure to support this method to a degree but it would be much cheaper if they could just slam out 1,000 of these guys and then sell them but the market just isn't big enough.
You can see it coming into play with the Deluxe Edition, they had X many guaranteed sales at a time so they could order off a few thousand driving the cost down, I pledged like $180 bucks and that's with some addons so the Deluxe sold for, what $150? And the Premium PoD version is $145.
Scale is important here.
Eli Wright
>Tell us about your group edition! In person only.
Well, my group jus-
>Next edition will be for online groups.
Well, guess I'll save my storytime for later, then.
Gavin Miller
How can you talk about your group if it's in person only, but suddenly can't if it's online groups next time?
Daniel Martinez
I don't see how economy of scale excuses it in this situation.
The paper quality of a brand new made to order book should not be WORSE than an over twenty year old mass produced book.
Nathaniel Jackson
I was addressing the cost. And because the cost is increased, the quality to cost ratio is lower. I am not defending the quality of the physical product, merely trying to explain how it could come about.
Aiden Torres
Eh. I really don't see how that holds water on a printed to order. They advertise how it's HIGHER quality than a mass run
Maybe it's just a shitty accident on their part, used shitty paper by mistake. It was finished suspiciously fast as well, they sent it later that day.
Gabriel Bell
Is the deluxe edition much different than the normal book?
does it come with toys
Jaxson Watson
Not sure, Deluxes haven't been shipped yet, I'm sure we'll see tons of pictures of them (good or bad) once they finally are released.
Zachary Martinez
Holy shit really? the kickstarter was in 2013...
Jason Foster
Christy Mack posted a picture of her with the deluxe edition on twitter a while back
she had to take it down though
Blake Turner
Sloppy editing on my part, honestly.
Anyway, it's a Skype game, so I kind of consider it closer to in-person than online, anyway.
Angel Richardson
>OP image ...needs more arms.
Michael Foster
are you kidding? skype is like the epitome of online gaming....
have you ever seen another human being in person before? or are you a bubble boy?
mr cuckold you are
Jacob Collins
Please use the right version in future OP
Charles Morris
i didn't want to use this one because the face is gay
at least the other one is dark souls
Michael Rodriguez
...
Tyler Moore
will do!
William Morales
wow im retarded, its not actually dark souls sun
Xavier Martinez
unconquered sun? more like unguzzled cum
on a related note, I'm dming with a group that no matter what is going to do 15 games with me at least weekly
at one point i want to do something ive never done: Be that asshole GM that gives favors his girlfriend
recommendations?
Zachary Cruz
Is there any benefit mechanically for extra arms?
Tempted to make a Zenith Sorcerer seeking to emulate the Sun
Benjamin Smith
yes, in GURPS
you need to eat more though
Landon Brown
Who was that one DC character who's only power that he had a single extra arm?
I think he was a minor villain
Juan Ross
this is now a gurps thread
Tyler Collins
Never played, what mechanical effect?
And what level working would you guys peg his anima being permanently visible at?
Andrew Martinez
You get all the benefits of two extra arms
You can hold more things, get more actions etc...
It has some disadvantages, ESPECIALLY if you're playing in a setting where you're dirt poor. The extra calories you need make it really easy to starve to death. Plus, it's a bitch when you're calculating balance and whatnot. It's also really easy to fall when you swing with with both sets, and you lose some oomph if you don't roll you're balance correctly. Though, if you're good at calculating square roots its trivial. The quadratic equations for determining how much water you need a day get wayyy more complicated though.
Evan Richardson
.........are you sure these two games are compatible. Quadratic math for water consumption sounds very un-exalted
Sebastian Sanders
Though, if you pick up ambidextrous and use two shields, one on each side of you, you're virtually indestructible in lower tech settings. Use a spear in one hand and a shortsword in the other, and you're a one man phalanx. Add eyes on the back of your head, and nothings getting past your defenses. Throw in that one trait that gives you the genetic deformity that pugs have that gives them extra muscle (cant remember the name), and you're fucking stoppable and can kill everything around you until you die from calorie exhaustion
Eating before and during combat with the second stomach trait solves that easy though
Ethan Morris
As opposed to IRC, Play-by-post, or something like that? Half the group is people I know IRL, even, we just all live in different states now.
John Diaz
Who said they were compatible?
By the way, the actual answer to your question is found in the supernatural merits list.
Daniel Barnes
>pretends to know people in real life you're not fooling anyone. you're a bubble boy The only woman you've ever loved is your mother, and shes probably cheating on you too!
Brody Gonzalez
>Who said they were compatible? When I asked a question and someone brought up GURPS I sort of assumed.
>By the way, the actual answer to your question is found in the supernatural merits list. Thanks
da fuck
Lucas Taylor
dehydration is still an ever present threat, and with your increased calorie consumption you better have a high fiber diet, or rolled high on your anal consumption roll (yes it go ported to gurps playthings), or you're gonna have a HARD time shitting
Tyler Young
*circumference
Noah Howard
Best build in GURPS:
Extra Arms
Eyes behind
Second stomach
Secondary brain (twin linked, stored in chest)
Third leg
Ball Joints (replace all joints on arms)
Obese
illiterate
Hyper-muscled
ambidextrous (all arms)
Fucking killing machine. You don't even have to buy any proficiency if you get creative with the second brain while it's twin linked. Set it up as a math coprocessor and you can't fuck off needing know how to fight by just calculating the best way to hit shit.
Anthony Gonzalez
God help you if you try to juggle though...or solve a rubiks cube.
Aiden White
I wish i could run that in exalted
Fuck, I wish someone could draw a picture of that
The twin-link brain is smart, having extra limbs can make you retarded because you get less frontal lobe use and need to stuff it full of nerve endings to control your limbs
I don't see how that build could possibly be used in low tech though
Wait, if you only need two arms for the cude, how many do you need for the cube?
Carter Green
this many
Austin Young
Does anyone actually like chejop ? Every game I've been in, the other sidereals prove to him he's an asshole so he does that combo that kills every living being in creation cuz youknow, that combo is actually on his stat block
Henry Nguyen
Creation-slaying oblivion kick is what one of my GM's named it.
I think it's called charcoal style something. I guess DMs must hate chejob being proved to be an asshole
You don't think he'd be an infernal with (cosmic principal: Arrogance) ?
Michael Perry
>Infernal
Are you suggesting Kanye West once failed at something? How dare you.
Jordan Allen
Fuuuuuck, it was bait, and I took it.
Charcoal March of Spiders?
Austin James
He failed at failing. He genuinely tried to fail and the yozi snagged him
Gabriel Ross
I think that's it. He had to jump on top of the imperial mountain first though.
Xavier Kelly
As I understand it, that's 'cause the combo is to kick everyone he can see, and Creation is flat. The Imperial Mountain is the tallest thing in the setting, so that's where he can see everyone from.
Henry Murphy
>so weary of his success, his all-encompassing brilliance, Kan-Ye of the Western Isles sought a minor failure, he spun a cowrie shell 999 times and correctly guessed the direction it would point
>but on the 1000th spin he knew it would point north but instead guessed it would turn south, hoping beyond hope that he would be wrong
>but the shell pointed south and Kan-Ye sank into the most excellent and perfect melancholy the West had ever seen
>and as he despaired, surrounded by the lavish trappings and harem of his success, his thighs and body carressed by Tya he had seduced despite all conventional logic, a voice whispered
>"you are the most perfect servant a king could wish for. Take my hand and I shall free you from the chains of success"
I can dig it.
Charles Williams
I dig it. He's like the pokeman trainer from that one fanfic.
Cameron Smith
this one specifically
Charles Smith
Am I gonna regret reading this
Grayson Thomas
thats actually unreadable
Jace Harris
That particular picture, yes. The second one is better.
James Kelly
>However, I was in luck. Because the Pokemon center had just bunt down and all of the Chanseys died, except one.
Well this is off to a good start
Hunter Gutierrez
>I took 300 dollars and a fighting knife from his body and also felt him up a bit. He was only about 24, 5 thick inches soft
Sebastian Cruz
So yeah, as it turned out I do regret reading it
Easton Torres
It's over ten years old, cut it some slack
Nathan Barnes
Rather, the original is. That particular post is only 9
Anthony Martin
So do people really ERP exalted?
I don't see how the mechanics would work for sex or pregnancy. It's impossibly easy to seduce another player.
Christian Ross
does gay sex and pedophilia disturb you?
Gabriel Allen
No. Jigglypuff was singing and the author didn't fall asleep. Immersion ruined, 1/10 shit storytelling
Adam Jenkins
Jesus christ, I just realized how long I've been using this site...
God, I miss the days when bans were pretty arbitrary.
You'd see a post with over 300 replies about some girls sweet 16 and you'd see
USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST
in big red lettering because they were underage.
What happened? I miss that shit.
Carson Robinson
Jigglypugg never actually sings if you read carefully. He only mentions that she CAN sing.
Also, jigglypugg doesnt make the trainer fall asleep in red or blue
Levi Martin
>Jigglypugg never actually sings if you read carefully. He only mentions that she CAN sing.
"I looked at Cecelia standing there singing and I pushed her off the ship into the sea"
Checkmate.
>Also, jigglypugg doesnt make the trainer fall asleep in red or blue
This isn't a videogame
Jose Adams
Making any slight indication ANYWHERE on the site that you were underage use to instantly get you banned....
Now faggots traffic technical childporn on /b/ and ramble on about highschool and don't even get a one day ban.
It's been a big fall...
Chase Morales
>This isn't a videogame The story is a fanfic of pokemon red
its a videogame
Leo Taylor
i didnt say jigglypuff
jigglypugg
your move
Logan Brooks
Lolis aren't children, they are bunch of pixels
Gabriel Watson
I never knew how much I wanted this until I saw it
Owen Martin
I love it.
Adam Ward
Quack?
[USER WAS DUCKED FOR THIS POST]
Jackson Brown
I'm talking about the pictures of 14 year olds that constantly float around
Sounds like a Wyld mutant to me. But something like that already exists in the form of Tomescu, a First Circle Demon.
Andrew Lewis
>Every game I've been in, the other sidereals prove to him he's an asshole so he does that combo that kills every living being in creation cuz youknow, that combo is actually on his stat block Why'd he do that? He's an asshole, but he's an asshole who genuinely wants to save the Creation. Killing everyone seems kind of counterproductive, and wildly out of character.
