Is there any way to REPLACE the Strength in CMD with something else?

Agile Maneuvers or the Knowledge is Power Wizard discovery. Now stop posting in this thread, we have four of the fucking things right now.

Agile Maneuvers is for CMB, not CMD.

>Knowledge is Power
Pretty good, but doesn't replace.

See, awoo is fine.

That prego child was not.

What do I play if I want to be pic related?

>four separate Pathfinder Generals
This has to stop

You first.

3.5. Mouthpick lets you get away with it.

What about Pathfinder-only?

Not a child.

It was a fucking prego kid, don't give a shit what you pedo's think.

Why are there three Pathfinder threads on Veeky Forums currently?

One's for adults, the others for anime lovers, and the thirds for /d/eviants.

>One's for adults
>posting on Veeky Forums

Pick one.

How good would a kitsune oracle archer be?

The Strength penalty will hurt if you're using bows, but overall it's not terrible at all.

Are there any better races for an oracle archer then?

Is an oracle archer even worth it in general?

Lads, is there a way to obtain Domain spells as an Inquisitor?

There are some 3pp archetypes for it, I think?

Pretty much any race with +dex/+cha will be an ok oracle archer.

Thanks fella.

>Be Fetchling
>+Dex/+Cha
>+50% concealment when in darkness

>Wear Umbrium
>Win

The hell is umbrium?

If you're gonna be a Fetchling exploiting his 50% darkness dodge ability, go for the Umbral Stalker Inquisitor Archetype.

Its pretty much *the batman archetype*

A different fucking game.

Hey /pfg/, I am going to make a villain that uses Fleshwarping for his primary shtick, what evil minions could come from that, what race/monster should he/she/it be. I was thinking Alchemist would be fitting for a Fleshwarping craftsman. Anyone have any other tips for this sort of Bad (Big or otherwise).

We have mutated Troglodytes, Acid Vomiting Trolls, and explodey flying puff-balls of acidic death.

d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/fleshwarped-cr-1

Why does everyone complain about Augunas's furry kitsune but NOT the furry catfolk?

Its kinda like the 'uncanny valley' in a sense.
You can understand why a lot of fantasy races look at Half-bloods with derision and scorn.
if its only 20% furry, we see people wearing cat ears and tails
if its 80% furry, we see a non-human exotic race.
if its 50% furry, we see that connection between man and animal and just get grossed out over it.

The furry kitsune don't really have much to do with kitsune, they're just fox furries. So the name is misleading. If you're talking about catfolk, people are already expecting furries.

But why are the furry catfolk fine?

>rolled so many characters over the years
>experimented with several classes and archetype builds
>knows its strengths and weaknesses
>at a loss what to roll for next game

what the fuck is wrong with me, /pfg/?

Roll randomly, usually works for me.

You'd be better off as a human, archers need all the feats they can get.

Just look through a character art thread and try to stat the first thing that looks like fun to play as.

I just accidentally discovered that Toppling Spell metamagic seems to synergize perfectly with the Force Sword spell. For the cost of a third-level slot, I can give my fighter a magic sword for one minute per level and then make free trip attempts against everything that he damages with it... Is this actually worth a third-level spell slot that could be used on Haste/Slow?

d20pfsrd.com/feats/metamagic-feats/toppling-spell-metamagic
d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/f/force-sword

Why not just use it on magic missile?

You can grab metamagic master or a similar trait to drop it back to a 2nd level spell. (Not lower)

Good eye, by the way, this will also work for my Magus. Too bad COMBAT MANEUVERS IS ABSOLUTE SHIT!!!

Because you only get to use it a small number of times per spell, whereas the force sword is a relatively lasting effect that will be there for at least one full combat if not more.

As this is written, it sounds like a character could use it to go to an elemental plane, but would then be trapped there without any way to get home unless they already have some other way to Plane Shift.
Why? I don't think this is how it's intended to work.

"transport yourself and willing targets to an elemental plane that is appropriate to your race"

You're a native to the material plane actually, since you're a *human* with an outsider ancestry.

The Material Plane is not an elemental plane. An undine with this could, apparently, only use it to go TO the Elemental Plane of Water.

Adding to this:
Its the same reason why any of the genasi races can't be banished or dismissed as per the spell. They're not extra-planar outsiders. They're native outsiders.

They could get themselves Banished from the elemental plane as an alternate way to get home though right?

yep. as well as any non-natives to the elemental plane. (I figured that out the hard way when me and the party went hunting for a particular devil hiding out in literal hell waiting for a contract to be fulfilled so he can take our barbarian's soul)

>tfw no /pfg/ civil war

>The creatures need to find other means if they are to travel back (including casting plane shift again).

Sounds like it's how it's intended to work.

> (You)
>>The creatures need to find other means if they are to travel back (including casting plane shift again).
>Sounds like it's how it's intended to work.
The issue is that the character with Elemental Jaunt CAN'T "cast Plane Shift again" to go home according to RAW, because it's an ability that imitates Plane Shift but only goes to one specific plane.

Sure. So they need to find other means to travel back. Just like any fuck with, say, a scroll of Plane Shift. It doesn't say

>The spirits of your ancestral home call to you, beckoning you to return, but only for a brief visit you know how they worry, you never call, at least stay the weekend!

This is a one-way trip.

So what's the purpose of making it a FEAT? If you can already Plane Shift it's pointless, and if you can't it's pointless and really stupid and will probably kill the rest of your party if they come along.

Just do what said.
Just houserule it as "yeah, sure you can make a return trip to the material/mortal plane since you're a native to that plane to begin with.

If you can't think of any use or story potential for one-way planeshifts from anywhere to an elemental plane, then that's on you.

Otherwise, if nothing else, the "once per day" part would be rather irrelevant.

Once per day you can leave the campaign, duh.

>DM brings out Magical Realm
>Luckily, I have a Secret Magical Realm Escape Pod on my character sheet!
>"Screw this, y'all. I'm going to the Plane of Water and never coming back!"
>Planeshift in right in front of a colossal kraken that immediately starts lovingly caressing you

It won't work. It never works.

So, newb GM here
>got party going
>established minimal lore
I keep in character, but what are some other ways to entice players?
Es.: i'm forcing them to ponder their words, if they forget something IRL they do ingame, same with diatractions...
Also, our mage foolishly used char as his dump stat, so he's an autist now

>Es.: i'm forcing them to ponder their words, if they forget something IRL they do ingame, same with diatractions...
Please don't do this, go with whatever interpretations of their described actions makes the most sense and expect them to do the same with you and everything will be much better.
>Also, our mage foolishly used char as his dump stat, so he's an autist now
Most wizards are autists anyway. Let him have fun with it.

>if they forget something IRL they do ingame
i don't entirely agree with this if it's some major plot element. Remember that between sessions it's been a full week for your players, but for the characters no time has passed at all

I'm not "forcing" them, i'm just playing as a distant entity, a narrator with minimal agency
>had 6 branches just for their start
The wizard is an elementalist hell bent on achieving godhood, the player's going balls to the wall with it, crackling sparks 'n shit
Not this, but as an example their names etc.
>last session
>new player joins
>ingame was with his dwarven clan
>they got slammed in because did shit while drunk
>rest of the party had seen it
>never told him, cause they forgot

Another thing,
They're filthy rich... I don't really know how to deal with it

Also, where can i find translations for class names (skald 'n shit)

translations? To what language?

Ita specifically

no idea. some class names seem like they'd be difficult to localize properly, due to vagueness. Magus, by itself, doesn't really convey the idea of a sword-using wizard. Rogue may not have quite the same connotations in other languages, etc.

Rogue is mistranslated as thief, magus as warlock...
Caith sith too
Since Bard is Bard i need something for scald

Do you guys have any gimmick builds that you use/have used?
I'm not talking about power gaming but rather having a clear "thing" that defines the character.

My favorite example which I have played twice already would be Paladin with Hospitaler and Warrior of Holy Light archetypes.
He has no magic but he sure can heal, smite and buff. He is especially fun when fighting with creatures that have light sensitivity. Turns out they don't really appreciate their enemy suddenly turning into religion spouting floodlight.

Cliché as fuck, but
>drunkard barbarian
Improvised weapon and that improved thingy from monk, amount of alcohol dictates rage
Also
>high class thief
A favourite of mine
Hidden brass knuckles, charisma to the sky and sweet talk your way to victory

You guys really should just play Dungeon World instead of this garbage.

>Dungeon World
Awful implementation of PbtA for fantasy. Fellowship is better for PbtA fantasy.

Skald isn't actually an english word. It's scandinavian, so may not actually need to be translated.

Literally every character I play has a gimmick. I'm currently playing a sapper rogue that focuses on dealing nonlethal damage. Sap Adept and Sap Master feats, along with two weapon feint cause her sneak attacks to become sky fuckin high

Why not take Mock Gladiator instead of using a sap?

GL against aberrations constructs oozes and undead, family

what's mock gladiator?

If there are two warriors in my party how can i make them very different beings?
One is a "muh axe" dwarf
Other is generic_human_warrior.tga

Describe their love lifes, their hobbies, their downtime activities, favorite food and drink, attitude towards defeated enemies, pay scale, ruthlessness, degree of snark, relative tendency to make bad decisions, and which one has burned down the most buildings.

(The other one should probably have burned down zero buildings.)

Pick a weapon, do nonlethal with it.

Good for earth breakers.

well technically i just went with unarmed strikes because A) it lets me switch from lethal to nonlethal whenever and B) it also lets me qualify for knockout artist

Nah, go with natural attacks and Forcestrike Knuckles and such.

I would suggest adding snake style for added defense and minor/major magic for easy sneak attacks.

DSP material is more balanced than core and is better-written and better-designed

Ok.

Yeah... yeah.

Except for Akasha, Tzocatl, monster classes, psion focused disciplines, half the psionic classes, and Path of War 1. A lot of their stuff.

>broken blade
k.

There are plenty of Paizo that is well written and well designed. If you list the number of well written classes it actually outnumbers the amount of classes DSP has made in total.

>bard
>druid
>UCmonk
>alchemist
>inquisitor
>magus
>vigilante
>hunter
>Investigator
>skald
>slayer
>warpriest

I agree.

Rolled 4, 2, 3, 6, 1, 1, 2, 4, 5, 1, 6, 6, 3, 3, 1, 2, 5, 5, 3, 5, 6, 1, 4, 2, 1 = 82 (25d6)

Guys, I need help. I need to design members of a mercenary company. If you guys could help me roll them up/give them brief personalities that would be awesome.

I need to make 10 that are 4d6 drop lowest down the line. After that they need name/race/class (these 10 have PC class levels).

The theme of the mercenary company is that in desperation the city essentially shook the slums of the city into armor, so a lot of folks were former poor, homeless, or gangsters pressed into service into a newly formed private military force funded by the state.

Roll 1d6 to determine what level they are. They can be any class DSP or Paizo. I'll start! The last dice is for his level.

>I need to make 10 that are 4d6 drop lowest down the line. After that they need name/race/class (these 10 have PC class levels).
Jesus why the fuck? just use 15 14 13 12 10 8 for each and call it a day. The slight differences in +1 or -1 won't matter.

Broken Blade is Path of War 1 shit.

Marcus Gren, AKA Garbagemouth is an older half-orc man, formerly homeless who was one of the first to take up the call in the response to possible regular meals. He has an insatiable hunger that, due to his position, he needed to satisfy with the most rank offerings. He is a level 1 Ravenous cursed Streets mystery oracle.

They are a good deal of fun and provide variation that fosters creativity. When you don't have a character in mind and need to build them on the spot it helps make neat things. Normally I have plenty of ideas, but I need to make NPCs by the batch for this.

Then you'll want to start rolling your 240 dice.

That actually makes a whole lot of sense.

To make a more varied crowd I want to see if /pfg/ wants to make some. As long as they fit into the general idea I'm up for anything. After the 10 guys with PC levels I need to make a bunch more with NPC levels who are on 3d6 down the line instead.

Rolled 1, 2, 2, 2, 6, 4, 6, 5, 2, 1, 4, 6, 1, 6, 2, 4, 3, 1, 6, 6, 2, 1, 1, 4, 3 = 81 (25d6)

I'll do another!

pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm
Use that instead of being lazy and relying on others to do your work.

/pfg/, can we have a truce?

I will agree to not bitch even 1 time about fluffy tails, or weaboo maids or whatever other shit you guys love, as long as you aid me in ensuring that the pregnant-porn-shota-dogboy-fetish bullshit stays gone forever?

The only reason I hate you guys is that the fetish-posters usually follow you shortly after you come anyways.

Rolled 6, 5, 3, 1, 3, 2, 1, 1, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 5, 6, 1, 2, 2, 5, 4, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3 = 70 (25d6)

Figured I would do one... I'm helping

I mean I could just make them all. I know some people like making NPCs.

Mordrin Crim is a unscrupulous thief, using his skills to make himself relatively comfortable until he angered the Rikket's gang. Through blackmail and threats he was forced to use his skills for them. He sought service as an out, but the Rikket's followed him at the prospect of war profits. He is a level 3 Unchained Rogue.

Rolled 2, 4, 3, 6, 3, 2, 4, 3, 5, 4, 2, 6, 4, 1, 5, 5, 3, 5, 5, 6, 1, 5, 4, 1, 4 = 93 (25d6)

These stats were FAR too garbage to actually be usable, even with 2 +1's, he would have netted pretty low negative

People aren't going to stop shitposting in /pfg/ unless people stop overreacting to fluffy tails, blinkling maids, or fetishy anime pictures. /pfg/ loves to feed trolls and stir the pot. Just ignore the shit you don't like.
