There, I un-fucked up

Has anyone claimed the Traveler's Gate series as a Jump?

Of you're going to be snarky, at least get the grammar right.

...

How good of a friend are you?

On a scale between Jesus and John Constantine?

Wrong thread number.

friends are for the weak

Depends on who you ask.

My Typhlosion says I'm the best friend ever, but my other Companions all agree I can be inconsistent thanks to all of the new memories I keep picking up.

Who cares?

You fucked up, and that's being rubbed in your face because you called attention to it.

Hello again, /jc/. Today I got around to working on that notes/rulings update for Cortex Command I promised a while back... and it turns out I was mistaken. It does not, in fact, take 30 seconds to grow a Culled Clone like I ballparked last time someone asked. I went to replay the level where you can see cloning vats in operation, and each vat grows one about every _five_ seconds. You can watch them go from nothing to full-grown and then slough out the bottom. Now, Culled Clones are shitty, zombie-esque rejects with none of the polish that usually goes into bodies which are actually salable, but that's one hell of an aggressive baseline. I'm going to have to redo my estimations of how long more complex clones take to gestate, because _daym_.

While I was at it, though, something else came to mind. Mods. The [Founder] perk handles all the faction-adding mods inspired by other media, but it doesn't take into account some of the original content and added gametypes. Mods have kept this heartbreaker of a game alive when even the devs weren't doing so well in that regard, so I think I'll be including a handful in what is starting to sound like a full-blown CortComm v2. In the off chance anyone still plays this game, I'm taking suggestions now: What CortComm mods (that aren't already covered by [Founder] and don't brutalize the lore) would you like to see, /jc/?

I'm currently looking at Void Wanderers (no longer limited to a single planet), Unmapped Lands (infrastructure upgrades) and Air Support as general additions available to anyone, with the Galan (space bugs with a love of pyrotechnics), House of Suns (combat drones supported by more combat drones) and Biohazard (chemical warfare specialists, predictably) as additional faction options.

Mawaru Penguindrum has been more or less stalled. Maybe this is what I needed to get going again?

>he didn't ally with Nazarick before funny farm, etc happened
>he didn't mentor Ainz into being an actually good ruler after bonding over vidya skills

Oh I'm sorry, I can't hear you over our proper evil overlord laugh lessons. Which the grave you've dug yourself into has been an AMAZING inspiration for.

I Trickster Mentor'd via being an antagonistic force via Level 100 Summoning Bullshit.

How d'ya like them potatoes- erm, apples.

Remember, if you want to destroy Nazarick because you're incompetent and don't actually want to make the New World a better place, at least don't try to pretend that you're doing it for 'good' or 'justice'.

...

So, starting a chain that going 0 to 100 real quick, is a Level 100 Warrior + World Champion + Dragonoid enough to deal with Naruto's bullshit?

Demolition Man Jump is done.

drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw-8_w1HbxgQWlIwOGNONDZUV1E/view?pref=2&pli=1

gotta get those class skills

I'll uh, take the silence as a no?

The GLTAS rings are just like the canon rings but weaker right?

the what now?

Mid-tier, but I try.

question about the founder perk, it reduces tech that include stuff that they can Don't already have right? what kind of stuff is there locally so that there are benchmarks for what we are looking at?

I have Defense, Offense, Magic Warrior, and Divine Caster. And also Tireless and a Divine set.

I thought we were getting a demo.

Wrapping up a chain and trying to decide on an end-jump. What is uncapped spiral energy capable of?

I have a slightly different problem, actually.

See, Ainz is, despite everything, still very much Evil, as is everyone in Nazarick.

How much like Arthas is he, and how much is Tirion going to want to end him?

i.e. on a scale of current imperium of mankind to forerunners What are we looking at? I have The game but I suck at it I haven't been able to get much About what's going on

Galaxies as Ninja stars is one of the feats in the final battle, eventually it gets to a point where it destroys the universe because of simply too much energy to be contained

Fantasy series about "the other guy" AKA the poor bastard that normally sits on the sidelines while the chosen hero goes off to do hero things. Only this fuckin guy manages to become the real hero.
willwight.com/travelers-gate-trilogy.html

Any good perks for repairing tech I don't understand?

What can it actually do, though? Is it actually reality warping?

youtube.com/watch?v=U9N-BuufhyU

Some wacky stuff.

Reading the book descriptions and these sound right up my alley. I'm going to have to find them.

Straight from the website:
>Prophecy has nothing to say about Simon. He has no special powers, no magical weapons, and no guarantee that he'll survive. But he sets off anyway, alone, to gain the power he needs to oppose the Travelers and topple their ruthless Overlord. It may not be his destiny, but Simon's determined to rescue his fellow villagers from certain death.

>Because who cares about prophecy, really?

Go to SCP and get Anartist, make some sort of band-aid or antibiotic that heals technology instead of people.

sounds cool, I doubt it's been claimed though. So, assuming no one has claimed it why don't you?

Not on its own. You need tech to harness it.

These books worth buying?

This is one of the things that'll be going in the notes. [Founder] doesn't "reduce" tech, but if it's beyond CortComm's tech base (like, say, hard light, magitech or mega-structures) then you'll need other perks to make sense of the information you're getting from it. It's giving you a preternaturally complete set of blueprints (which makes it good for grabbing items that showed up once and were promptly forgotten because plot) but not necessarily making you clever enough to implement them via the infrastructure CortComm provides. Stack a couple relevant perks, though, and that story changes.

Flash cloning (providing transplant-based biological immortality), basic nanomachines, casual FTL, self-aware AI, some energy weapons (laser/plasma). That sort of thing.
Can you give me an example of what you were hoping to get?

Amazon has em, there's a sub-series too that goes into more detail about the world's and their rules. Gonna be staking a claim on making the jump since no one seems to have even heard about it.

Whoops, meant for that first quote to point to

If I remember correctly, you can literally become God. Check out what Lord Genome was able to do by himself at his peak.
>youtube.com/watch?v=1e2CiFbmQEg

I think there's a perk or three that does that. One of them is called Percussive Maintenance or the like and works just the way it sounds. I can't remember where I saw it, though.

That's exactly why I asked, but I've never done this before, so I guess it's gonna be a learning experience.
God I hope I get it right

Simply put, it connects your will to the universe. This...does a lot of stuff, from creating mass and energy-and "evolving" their properties to be better-out of nothing except your hot-blooded speech about determination, to manipulating probability itself to the point the most powerful users were able to get hit by attacks and simply CHANGE THE PROBABILITY OF BEING DAMAGED by the attacks so no damage was inflicted, being able to attack (and exist) in at least 10-11 dimensions to the point where the time axis itself becomes irrelevant and apparently limited self-ressurection.

What's really crazy is that the antagonists casually create an infinite multiverse to trap the protagonists in at one point. The funny thing is it LOOKS like an illusion or something, but the way it's described it's pretty explicit the thing's an insane exploit of the quantum uncertainty principle to keep people trapped through their own perception of time and space.

And it's not even their ultimate attack.

ID jump update

*Scenarios
*Racial perks
*New drawback

Changes highlighted in green. As always, suggestions will be considered.

That part's actually debatable depending on how powerful a user of it you are. Lordgenome creates his own mech out of sheer force of will near the end. Simon broke out of the multidimensional labyrinth by, well, basically the power of friendship and visualising his drill which did...stuff, to all dem alternate timelines. Swirly combining stuff. And then there's the Anti-Spirals who completely blur the distinction between themselves and their technology, and don't even get me started on Nia. But yeah, early on people seem to need the robots as a conduct to channel the stuff.

It'd be more accurate to say it's hard to tell where tech ends and innate ability begins with Spiral Energy.

Well, I'm glad to have heard of it, now. I'm reading the previews on this guy's website, the stories look promising.

Are any of the perks in DOA worth getting or is it better to just blow your budget on fighter girls?

yes

Yes.

Hivemind.

Huh. That sounds neat.

Not the guy who originally asked, but what can be accomplished with the part-one capped Spiral Energy? It says you can increase your physical abilities, but how much?

like mid-late dragonball? (not dbz but original dragonball)

Yes to what?
The perks being good or getting fighter girls?

I like this, but I'm not sure how I feel about the alien race table. Are the race perks drawn from something or are they pure OC? Don't get me wrong, I think that having the resistance alien tree in there is good, but I think it should be more . . . well more about leading a resistance against the main aliens and less about the resistance race.

I may be in the minority though.

I like the scenarios and objectives, those are great. Might want to put in a note about how scenarios interact with drawbacks, in particular your zero point drawback.

This is still pretty bare bones, but what you've got looks really good. I hope you keep at this, mang.

depends on how many jumps You have taken
okay thank you

>depends on how many jumps You have taken
Five, my only real combat abilities are from Infamous.

Yes.

Well, let me think:

-Remember the self-ressurection? A guy actually did that after implicit clinical death by high energy giant robot lance. He stayed alive just long enough to combine with his bro's mech, parry some more robot attacks casually, stunlock the guy who killed him's robot with giant sunglasses (just roll with it) and then blast him apart by conjuring a massive drill more powerful than anything seen before, and which would become the signature attack of the series. He only died when they won.

-A short kid with basically no tactical or combat training starts to hold his own against trained beastmen pilots with suped-up mechs. Near the end of the first season he's blowing them apart without even a fight and casually parrying the antagonist's main henchman's robot's swords using one giant robot hand, without even looking in his direction

-At one point he uh, subconsciously summons his own giant robot? Keep in mind we're not even near the "cap".

-The main antagonist turns out to be fuelling 90% of his beastman army's need for spiral energy through his personal reserves, because their robots stop working when he dies. This includes a fortress-robot larger than a mountain and an army large enough to patrol the entire world.

-Oh-and it turns out you can apparently extract spiral energy from GL humans...somehow? When he powers up for the final battle these drill-tentacles swallow up his harem(?) and they aren't seen again.

-He's stronger WITHOUT the giant robot. When he starts losing he just gets out of it and beats the shit out of the protags' robot with his bear fists while his eyebrows go flaming.

-And then finally the protag uses his drill to blast a hole in the guy's chest at point black, releasing enough energy to rival an Excaliblast

-And the motherfucker KEEPS TALKING with a giant hole in his chest long enough to warn them about the NEW antagonists before he jumps off a cliff.

Yes.

it has some decent fantasy combat stuff,so if you Haven't taken any of those before it will set you up all right

>The main antagonist turns out to be fuelling 90% of his beastman army's need for spiral energy through his personal reserves, because their robots stop working when he dies.
Wait, really? I thought they were solar-powered.

Probably not alone but that will give you a good basis for the physical toughness and strength you are going to need to survive.
I would also suggest adding innate skill - physical powerhouse and tireless with maybe Defense focused class skill so you can drag the battle out long enough to wear out your opponents.
Ninjas are a lot like wizards they have a reserve of Chakra and when they run out they are kind of screwed. So if you are going for a brute force build then surviving until that point is key.

I think they just say that they are required to go back at night, he might charge them up then?

>more about leading a resistance against the main aliens and less about the resistance race.

Would you prefer the option of choosing to be a Resistance race after selecting a background with a small pool of CP just for racial abilities?

Example: Choose Military background then buying 'Resistance Race' perk for 100CP and instead of being an American fighter pilot you are an alien fighter pilot.

0+ drawback likely to be changed or deleted, I made it when I planned to focus more on the original story.

Important hard questions here.

Can you take the Esper capstone in certain magical index?

Am I right in saying it's not knowing magic of the setting that fucks the Esper up, it's just using it?

Is the updated Overlord jump on drive yet or the version there isn't updated?

Would Null Mystic from Devil Survivor which completely no sells status ailments work against the Overlord world item dress?

How tough are world items in terms of durability, like the dress?

No, they're powered by electricity. The hotsprings Ganmen is explicitly cited as not being dependent on solar power due to being steam-powered, and later when they use the Space Ganmen in the Death Spiral Sea (where Spiral Energy is drained away), Leeron mentions that he swapped them back to running on electrical energy rather than Spiral Power. It's likely that the reason the various Beastmen Ganmen shut down when Lordgenome was killed was because for such a large battle he was powering them with Spiral Energy for a power boost rather than let them run on inferior energy sources. Beastmen terrorist groups used their Ganmen just fine in the years after his death, so they presumably could switch it back to normal functioning.

So, the country is constantly at war with an invading army of turtles that hail from... well it can only be described as hell. Constant lava, next to no plant-life, terrifying monsters running around. The Koopas aren't even demonic or anything, but they are trying to use the power of magic to take over a more prosperous kingdom. I can empathize.

It's Bowser I don't get. Adopts kids, decent at rhythmic gymnastics, more or less seizes a country over night, giant fire-breathing monster, still feels the need to abduct Princess Peach every few months. He could have any Koopa girl he wanted, but he let's his xenophilia drive him into abducting a human. She doesn't have much in the way in personality, so it's probably just physical attraction. Or he really wants that crown.

So, the plan is to help Bowser get a real date with a pretty human woman. I hope it works out, and I'm not willing to give it more than three tries. If I never roll higher than a 90, then we'll have more little play wars with Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom.

Would Khorne's magic immunity collar he gives to his devotees going to no sell spells in a Overlord? What about world items

jesus christ, what is even happening anymore

I'm pretty sure that at this point it's less "abduction" and more "foreplay". Bowser Jr. tells Peach that she's his mother, and she doesn't deny it. Bowser later tells his son that Peach isn't really his mom, but the fact that Peach considered it a possibility implies that they do have a kid out there somewhere. The two of them are probably in a relationship and all this fuss with her being kidnapped is just to keep things lively in the bedroom.

You were warned. Don't act like you weren't.

GOURMET CELLS WERE A MISTAKE.

hey since I was building off of a bad benchmark, could I just changed what I chose for founder? I'm thinking Global peace agency rather than Locust Horde

So, Mario has literally killed thousands to play into Peach and Bowser's weird sexual fantasies?

Fucking royalty.

No. You made a selection, you can't change it now, that would be cheating at a single player online imagination game. And that would be terrible.

Well, since we don't know a whole lot about other races in that universe I think that being kind of vague will work to your advantage. I'd say offer two options for race: biological and digital. Then offer short perk trees with a few advantages for each, 1 and 200 points for each I'd suggest, no more, and then have your mid and top tier of the DI tree be about the resistance. You can have a sweet tech perk and maybe a resistance building perk. The DI aliens aren't showing /doing/ anything, they're just building so I'd reflect that.

The additional perks that the DI get can be offset by providing the other trees with greater discounts on more items.

Dropping the 0 sounds fine, but make sure you update the items section to reflect that.

We told you

>it's just using it?
yes

so you don't update builds when the jump changes? because I'm pretty sure that is also cheating

...Bancho. I can rule how perks work, but telling you what you can and can't do in your chain would be a hilarious overreach of my authority as a jumpmaker.

Do whatever, but you may want to hold off for CortComm v2: Mods Boogaloo if you're going to adjust your build.

What game is that?

that is a fair answer and I'm going to go with That then.

So, here's an idea; lets all post our Gurren Lagann builds, since I don't think I've ever seen any posted.

Hey it's...that guy! + 100

Level 100 Warrior can probably crush anything in Naruto one on one. S-Ranked ninja are the kinds of thing that Momonga can't even be injured by.

Cortex Command. I shorten it to CortComm sometimes in conversation.

It's infamous for the "Crab Drop" strategy, which involves packing an ungodly amount of crustaceans into a metal shipping container, dropping it from orbit on the enemy bunker, and letting the resulting abuse of the physics/terrain destruction engine do the rest. The pic in your quoted post is a screencap of one such drop in progress.

Holy shit, it's like if DBZ had baby with bad Naruto fanfiction.

Thanks for the good feedback

Yeah, keep plugging away at it. Your first jump is a weird experience, and don't be discouraged if you don't get a ton of feedback. You're on the right track with this. and I'll be glad to see this on the drive.

Really, nothing to these?

It's actually really good. Toriko's quality fluctuates a lot from arc to arc, but this one has been pretty good so far.

At least he's not , everyone is ignoring poor robo.

What the fuck even is this manga.

That sounds a lot like wank.S-Rank ninjas do stuff like capture Bijuu, flatten villages, get "flee on site" orders given for them to entire armies, and summon monsters capable of taking shits the size of city blocks.
