Shaking your head at your stupid habit to jump to weird conclusions, you enter the apartment and close the door on your way in. The smell is the first thing that hits you. It’s a mix of roses and dirty clothes. It’s not pleasant, but it’s bearable. It’s not worse than the stench you experienced when you found one of your teachers drunk off his ass by the road heading out from town last August. Apparently he got kicked out of his home by his wife and in a drunken stupor, he decided to leave town. On your way in you pass by a closed door before you reach an open hole where you could have sworn a door used to be. The kitchen lies within. There’s a pile of dirty dishes in the sink.

Averting your gaze with a disappointed sigh, you catch sight of the room on the opposite side; the small living room that’s outfitted with a brown and old leather sofa and grey armchair along with a TV on a wooden stand. No table and no rug. At the end of the living room there’s another room with an open door. From the living room you quickly spot the man sitting in his underwear on the only piece of furniture in the room. A bed.

“You must be Jess’ little bro, right?” He calls out to you when he notices you when you approach him through the living room. Where’s Jessica, you ask him, ignoring the fact that there’s a strange man in only his underwear on your sister’s bed for a moment.

You find your way to the doorway and finally uncover what he’s doing. He’s playing some colorful console game on an even smaller TV than the one out in the living room. There’s enough dirty clothes scattered about to even hide the floor itself in here.

“Yeah, man, she’s out on an errand. Said you’d drop by today tho’.” He replies, too into his game to look your way. You drop your duffel bag as it’s starting to dig into your hand. What to do now?
