Either that or they are trying to trap the entire world. That's my bet, that this is internet 2.0 but manufactured specifically for elites to have more control over information and currency while giving the masses the sensation of freedom and self governance. It feels like a trap because it is, we'll be relatively rich but live in a Dystopia. We were heading for a Dystopia before as well so who cares.

Scamming people has always been the trendy thing in crypto. Going from these scammy exchanges all the way to ICO scams and now "forks".
I created a new email few months back specifically just for 1 ICO, open it today for shits and giggle and guess what I have hundreds of spam from bitcoin virus sites and porn sites. Only used this email once. What happened? Did their site get hacked? Most likely not, those fuckers just sold my email to some shady company and it spread. Good thing I used a non-main email, huh? Now imagine all those people who sent their fucking passport copies to these ICO scammers, as well as these exchanges. So many fucking naive people not realising that anonymity and decentralization = catnip for shady fucks.
I already sold most of my shit with decent profit, I hope most of the naive fuckers get wrecked on the next big FUD, which is just around the corner.

I guess my perspective changed
I saw my portfolio go down from 107k to about 10k after 2013, as a hodler
I cashed out at 500k+ this round because it's life altering money and I don't really want to risk that now.
especially when I see the same signs as back then but now I don't seem to be caught in the mania.
if it skyrockets I have my money.
if it goes the way it went 9x before I'll get 4/6 times the btc and won't lose too much value net worth

That's a solid plan. I'm counting on a dip because big boys need to buy in, but I will never stop hodling, just have fiat ready basically.

a full year of battering my portfolio, losing 90k was not even the worst thing
it was my dreams and expectations of yachts and private islands being shattered
