Previous thread The world has expanded, and so has the color spectrum!
NPC's living in the HUB: >Bevy [TV headed Golem] (keeps track of residents and quests, speak with him if you want to improve your room) >Elaine [Blonde in dark-green tabard and breastplate] (ranger, tamer, and race skills teacher) >Mango [Ghost in the attic] (deals with elemental crystals, whisps, and elemental skills) >Smith [Gold Skull helmet, near the forge] (crafts items, sells equipment, combines items, enjoys the finer things in life)
Friendlies: Crash Blunder (watching the Coldbolds swimming) Earthbold (in the forge room, taking a break from repairs to the HUB)
Now, each player (new ones included) gets a single PCA which stands for (I think) Player-Character Action. These are used to develop your character via interacting with NPC's on a meaningful level (improve a skill, gain a new skill, hire the npc, etc etc) and are not used on fluff actions (conversing with the npc, giving a gift, trading non-merchant items, etc)
In addition, if you were here before the end of the previous run make sure that you cashed in your Quest Rewards. If you A)posted that you accepted the quest and B)it was listed on your character profile (at the end preferably) then it means you were a valid participant in the quest! >[Error Purge] was the run's Party-Wide Quest, meaning you didn't need to keep track of it or say you accepted it, the rewards are split among all members of the party automatically.
A blunder walks in from the door in a triumphant manner wearing a small wrinkled and a bit worn out nametag that which says the word stiky on it. [B1] [Stiky] [Blunder(jobber)] HP: 4/4 Str: 2 Dex: 2 Act: 1 Mov: 3 Aff: 0 [Basic Skill] (info optional) [Blunder] (Chance for actions to fail) [Skitter] (Tap: to get a move action!) Equipment: -Hand 1- -Hand 2-
Ian Rogers
Good to mark down.
Bevy sits up a bit as the door opens, then slouches once again when he realizes it's a blunder. "Geez, just got rid of most of your kind. What's that, a nametag? Stiky? You want to be an adventurer?"
He takes a moment to think with images flashing across his screen before reverting to his default face. "Alright, well here's 10 zeni. If you can help with any of the bounties or quests on the next run, and another adventurer vouches for your participation, then you'll be allowed to live here. In the meantime, go see the Smith for whatever he's willing to sell you." >Gain 10 zeni >See the Smith
Jaxon Powell
The blunder ignores the comment about his race his entire being more focused on receiving what appears to be the first real money in his blunder life. He then carries the handful of zenny in his hands for he does not have the all mystical and powerful belt that many ordinarily people take for granted. And then proceed's to walk towards the from what he perceives as the smith aka the dude standing right next to the racks which hold many sharp and point objects.
>Move towards the smith
[B1] [Stiky] [Blunder(jobber)] HP: 4/4 Str: 2 Dex: 2 Act: 1 Mov: 3 Aff: 0 [Basic Skill] (info optional) [Blunder] (Chance for actions to fail) [Skitter] (Tap: to get a move action!) Equipment: -Hand 1- 10 zenny -Hand 2-
Nathaniel Ortiz
Smith is much more friendly, giving a wave and even kneeling down to be closer to eye level with the blunder. "Aye how goes little friend? What's that you got there, some zeni?" he inquires while taking in the nametag. "Ah, ye be Stiky Blunder. Pleasure to meet yah!"
After a body-rattling handshake, that was also clad in golden gauntlets encrusted with gems, he lets the blunder down before resuming the kneeling position. "What can this humble Smith offer ye in services? Most items you see here in front of the forge can be purchased for less than 10 zeni each, the smallest items available for 5 zeni instead, such as the daggers, dusters, hatchet, what have you. If ye lookin' to find some headwear, the helmets are 15 zeni each but come with a free paint job. So, what be ye interested in acquirin'?"
Kevin Flores
The blunder then ogles his blunder eyes threatening in a way to pop out of his head as he ogles the seemingly endless hoard of weapons behind smith. Not really learning how to count zenny much less how much of the batch of coins he has is exactly one zenny, he then after a few seconds of intense ogling he then points towards one of the poker's on the racks on the walls. "Dat one" >Attempt to purchase a poker
[B1] [Stiky] [Blunder(jobber)] HP: 4/4 Str: 2 Dex: 2 Act: 1 Mov: 3 Aff: 0 [Basic Skill] (info optional) [Blunder] (Chance for actions to fail) [Skitter] (Tap: to get a move action!) Equipment: -Hand 1- 10 zenny -Hand 2- Currently pointing
Dylan Butler
The Smith takes a moment to make sure the blunder is pointing at the right weapon. Once confirmed, he gives a hearty chuckle, takes the zeni from Stiky, hands the poker to him before giving his change of 3 zeni. "Use it well and you'll never need to buy another, aye blunder?"
Smith waves goodbye as Stiky leaves the forge room, placing his hand on the chin of his helmet in contemplation before thinking aloud "Aye, hope he finds well with that poker."

Scroll is left with little information from the residents and proprietors of the HUB until she inquires about Poptartz with Elaine. "I've seen him a few times while exploring, but it's always been at a distance and I've never been able to catch up to him. Still looks like he's looking for the results on his last assignment, or forgot what it was. Hey, if I manage to catch up to him, I'll remind him about your request."
"Conjuration can be improved by a handful of means. The first is conversion which you take four crystals and summon a Whisp. The second is fortification, which increases the size and durability of elemental objects until they become legitimate structures. The third is what's known as 'elementa adveho' where you can teleport people and things through same-element objects and structures. That last one is a bit of a problem because you need to know the location of the conjure point you'd be teleporting to, but I've seen it used to an immense degree of benefits."
>Mango "Oh! If you bring me four crystals of the same element, I can convert them into a whisp! I can also revive whisps from their warped skulls, and teach them or a living being elemental skills so long as they're either attuned or know an elemental skill that is attuned. Let's see... you're water attuned, so I could teach you one of the following for starters:"
>[Stream Jet] [A] Aff ranged Line that Launches creatures and non-elemental objects out to max range. Impact converts excess distance into damage. >[Aqua Pistol] [A] Purifies Fire and Metal element status effects on a single target within Aff range. >[Spring Step] [A] Spawns a water Hazard within the current or an immediately adjacent space that shoots skyward up until Aff range. Launches creatures until max range. Impact converts excess distance into damage. Can be used as a platform if there is enough space at the top.
"These are the most basic skills I know."
Angel Young
"We have a spare Iron Mimic that's just sitting in storage, so just acquire a Water Whisp and Smith will craft it for you. I know that ghost in the attic can make whisps on command, but don't know what materials they would need."
>If you acquire the whisp yourself, this will not cost a PCA. If you want Bevy to do the legwork instead, then this will cost a PCA.
"Ah yes! This refined earth crystal would be splendid materials for an earth attuned item. Would even greatly improve the capabilities of one already crafted as well. As for your weapons of choice and helmet, I'm pretty certain those cannot be improved until you bring Materials to the table. Maybe getting them attuned will provide that benefit? I however do not know how to attune already crafted items, and do not know anyone who does. I'll ask Bevy and Elaine to look into finding someone who does though!"
>Asking doesn't cost a PCA. Combination crafting also doesn't cost a PCA but you can only do it once per character and only during [Downtime!]

A map of the HUB marked with the zones for easy identification.
Storage gives you a space's worth of shelving to stash your burdening items. In the Forge Room is where the crafting magic happens. Mango's Attic is where the actual magic happens. The Basement is still being fleshed out, but for now it's just going to be enough room to house a means for brewing. Rooms are still in the works for being furnished out, and Bevy is seeing to that. For now you'll need to share spacing with new recruits and friendlies given the limited space and materials at hand. The Foyer is where Bevy resides, and where Elaine will visit. Other wandering NPC's will stay to this area unless they head into the Dining Hall for a meal. Speaking of the Dining Hall, this is where all of the HUB's food will be enjoyed. No food allowed in the Rooms given the wish to avoid pests and attacks by ravenous birds.
Bounty board and the next run's Party Quest will be posted soon!
Camden Scott
Bevy finishes aligning the stack of papers he just filled out and begins reading off the docket for what the party can do for the next few days. "Listen up! Elaine here has been kind enough to bring all of you work out in the Wetlands. [Mud Wrasslin'] is the mandatory quest to complete, where you will have to explore the cave recently discovered in the area and return with your findings. Keep in mind that this is just an exploration quest and not a seek and destroy one such as last week's [Error Purge]! Other quests are as follows:"
>1 [Flood of Problems] (Coldbolds) "Our spring hole for our tribe just bursted open and flooded the whole dungeon! While we don't mind the expanded territory, we don't want it to overflow into your nice house. If there was something that could be done about the hole, or how much water is flowing out, or maybe just a means to control the water level, we'd be grateful for not being such a burden on you."
>2 [Shoq and Load] (Elaine) "The Wetlands is territory for the Shoq, who are definitely too much for new adventurers like yourselves to handle. However, this area seems to have been recently under a civil war, so only a handful of Shoq remain. Be careful, these creatures are clad in some of the heaviest armor I've encountered, and their combat tactics are more vicious than every Ferox I've fought with combined. Travel in pairs if you can, and if you see a Croq get to high ground. Croqs are less monstrous and more a force of nature if you can't get out of their reach."
>3 [Less Nestled Inn] (Luna) "Hello, I'm Luna an albino Volucer who has heard of a nearby safe haven. I've been looking for a new place to live given my current residence's rather violent neighbors, but need assistance moving. If another Volucer would be able to help me move to this HUB then I can provide my skills as a Crafter to your group's cause. Eternally greatful, Luna"

>4 [Overflow] (Mango) "From what my whispy friend has told me, the Wetlands is overrun with with Aqua Fatuus. Given the opportunity, any Warped Skulls you loot I will buy for 20 zeni each. I'll provide a Conjured Object near the starting zone which these can be transferred through so you won't have to lug them around all the time. Thank you for your efforts, and stay safe out there!"
>5 [Party Quest: Mud Wrasslin'] (Bevy) "You know the drill: Arrive, explore, return alive. I have no use for corpses, unlike the ghost. Do this and you earn room and board for the next week. Don't come back until you're absolutely certain the area has been properly explored. Bring back some materials for the house and I'll throw in a 200 zeni bonus. Save anyone in trouble and send them my way if you happen across them. There's still a vast majority of the old world still struggling to find each other, so we might as well help out in that regard."
>Make sure to mark down which quests you're taking!
OH and a quick notice: >Each character is limited to two (2) loadouts for this run. You need to travel light, and it saves a lot of processing time when I only have to swap between two different sprites. Volucer and Ferox are only allowed one loadout, given their default of two sprites they frequently alternate between.
>What's a loadout? A loadout is any equipment you carry with your hands, up to your maximum number of hands worth. Quick items are not counted against your loadout limitation, being that they can be drawn and used immediately which may not require an additional sprite to show their use. So instead of your equipment being based on hands, I will now wish the players to abide by the following skeleton:
Well as the one token Volucer actually on the team I am the only one who can accept this.

>Whisp Skill Options: >[Slam] [T] Strike for Str earth damage. Additional damage dealt equal to distance moved before attacking. >[Spike] [T] Strike for Str+Aff earth damage that Cleaves and inflicts Bleed upon dealing damage. Inflicts Pin if defender is flanked by a structure.
Camden Barnes
"Fully plated with some strange material that allows free movement while in water. Rougher than falling down a cliff face while in a sandstorm. The helmets even have teeth where it opens, meaning the Shoq can even bite anyone stupid enough to take them head-on. Luckily they can't actually devour creatures whole like a Ferox, but that just means a more brutal means to an end. If you can, bring something that crushes armor or you won't make any headway while fighting even one. Puncturing their armor only works from behind, so those Pokers won't do much unless you manage to outflank the Shoq."
Luis Myers
>Looks at his measly 1 STR at both of these STR skills.
I best go with the Spike, does the floor count as a structure? I bet I can Spike them from above.

What are the whisp stats then before I get back to work.
Ayden Carter
For a Whisp, their movement is tied to whoever they are attached to, and their Acts are how many times they can be Tapped to perform an action. This bond is non-vocal, but if it makes you feel better you can talk with your whisp.
In addition, Whisps can hold a number of Skills equal to their Aff, similar to the Ferox's Absorb skill.

The fact that storage is currently separate from rooms brings to bare the idea of maybe having only one large room for storage and the remainder of the 'storage' rooms could be converted to housing.
>[Postern-portation] [A]ction to teleport from an elemental structure or object to another known elemental structure or object. "Well a ranger is pretty much a glorified scout. They focus on finding information on surrounding areas, the locals, potential hazards, weather conditions, and can hold their own in a fight while they're at it. It's dangerous work for anyone lacking in experience in a lot of trades, but the good ones live and the bad rangers pass on. I myself know a library's worth of information for adventurers, having been around them for such a long time, that I can manage being a tutor for newcomers like yourselves. I also have a keen eye for improvement, so any skills you already know can be upgraded in a sense. Aside from that, there's the service of information I can offer for areas that even Bevy has not yet explored, including what you can loot, gather, kill, or otherwise come across."
[Shoq and Load] is a slaying quest. Each participant only needs to kill or actively contribute to killing either a Shoq or a Croq. If all subjects of a slaying quest are killed in the area, a bonus is granted to all participants in the quest. In addition, as with all quests, you keep any and all items you can carry.

A malicious force dwells within this land. Brings an understanding towards the eternal night this area seems to exhibit, given that it's daytime back at the HUB.
>Crash Blunder mounts up on Earthbold! Together they can move, fight, or support much more effectively than if separate. This was neither of their ideas, it was just Crash Blunder trying to get down from the sign and instead landing on the Earthbold's back.
Note: >White = damage dealt to players >Yellow = damage dealt to non-players >Red, Orange, Blue, Green, and Purple are their respective element's damage.
