Doesn't need to be added to the OP but it is news.
Ayden Parker
Honestly the new one, the old one had quite shite models while I believe the new is much better.
Julian Baker
New one. Tanith is way better than pKaya (though I think pKaya is far better than she used to be this edition).
Ryan Bell
So,they'll be doing these insiders daily till gencon? That would be pretty sweet,i love insight into creative processes and concept art,too bad wmh art is strewn all over the fucking place, seriously I think I found most of it on fucking pinterest of all places.Same with the fluff. Lol this turned into a ramble
Nicholas Flores
Because of no double argus stuff? I dunno i just dont like Gorax lol. Otherwise i like them both thought tanith looks a lil bit butt hurt with that angry face. Yes but on bigger format who's better? And if comparing with Kaya2?
Samuel Baker
Really? Cause you seem to have put the subject in the name field. Seems pretty retarded to me.
Robert Parker
Still Tanith, her spell list is insane for Circle, while pKaya is kind of generic. eKaya is a bit of a different beast, but if you're legit wanting to run her you'll want one of everything living warbeast, and you have to buy her separately anyway.
Jack Martin
at least the OP is updated this time round, so maybe he's only half-retarded.
Easton Harris
Nah, he purposefully made this one to fix the OP, so if he'd fucked that up it would be a sign of complete idiocy.
Jayden Morales
>but if you're legit wanting to run her you'll want one of everything living warbeast I didnt get that one. >you have to buy her separately anyway Not a problem actually.
Ethan Wilson
Just picked up this lot from a local "yard sale" gathering at my LGS for $125. Wondering what are the ideal additions from this point. I know for sure I'm going to get the new Behemoth, but beyond that I'm not really sure.
Harkevich
Black Ivan Spriggan Destroyer Destroyer Juggernaut Juggernaut
War Dog Widowmaker Marksman
Great Bears of Gallowswood Widowmakers
Jeremiah Miller
...
Hudson Jones
Ed is a pretty cool guy I think. He should probably write all of sole's insiders for him.
Do we have any theories of what Tristan and Jakes are gonna do?
Joseph Gray
Well Jakes we prob know from Tactics, or at least near enough.
Nathan Morales
Ed really does seem like a cool guy,he likes cryx and all And his haircut doesn't scream complete faggot
John Thomas
from the old thread: yes, legion got knocked down from its apex. but it's in a decent place. better than cryx.
Noah Ortiz
>better than cryx REEEEEEEEE I want Cryx to be a best ;_;
Logan Perez
hark loves a conquest
destroyers kinda suck. you'll probably want to get the character jacks, some decent scoring infantry (IFP or winter guard rifles), kovnik joe, and probably a grolar or two
Charles Fisher
>Was talking about it, and the guy who was building the list had a rough idea, but I think the benefit is that it threats so far and he can do it pretty much at any time that it's going to severely warp how your opponent plays his list. You just need to be able to take advantage of that. Yeah that was exactly how I planned it going. Basically I'd bring 2 lists. The first would be a generic good list that can handle anything thrown at it like Morghoul1 or Xerxis1. The second list would be for Morghoul2 when I can see that my opponent is using a pair of casters who both have generic defensive stats like 15/15 or 14/16 because then I know for a fact that the assassination is possible. Unless of course they have an obvious list they're going to use, like if one list has some Gremlin Swarms in it and that list has a vulnerable caster.
My only real debate is the Archidon in the Morghoul2 list. I could remove it and the Extoller for Nihilators, but Sprint on a 9" advancing model is sort of good.
Gavin Reyes
prevailing wisdom is that cryx needed to be toned down but didn't really deserve gaspy2 to be dick kicked and denny2 to be vag kicked as hard as they were
stuff isn't all bad. it was easy mode in mk2 but now that honor is held by cygnar
Jacob Garcia
>- Archidon [12] Why?
Sebastian Wilson
And by the way I don't even think Morghoul2 is a one trick pony with his assassinations. After reading Flesh Hooks and thinking about it for a while, it actually seems sort of insane. It prevents your opponent's heavies from doing any power attacks to increase their movement by 3", which basically means you can move 3" closer to them and be safe. You can ALWAYS land the first hit on their heavies.
It just means that Morghoul can play hit and run during the midgame. Throw him at some heavy infantry, Flashing Blade them all to shreds, and Sprint away 9" to safety because this nigger got PATHFINDER.
Julian Williams
Double sentry stone and Mannikens + ghetorix in almost every list. Guess i know what i need to buy. I hope they put char restrictions back eventually
Caleb Foster
Someone at my LGS has been doing that since he started the game not long after Mk3 dropped. It's fucking retarded and wins games. Sentry Stones do way more than a 5 point model should honestly. The fact that Mannikins can activate and shoot the turn they're dropped is beyond ridiculous.
Charles Ward
So I'm fairly new and decided to make a troll list. How's it look? What needs changing?
Trollblood
75 / 75 Army
Ragnor Skysplitter, the Runemaster - WB: +30
Dire Troll Mauler - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15)
Rök - PC: 21 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15)
Troll Axer - PC: 10
Troll Axer - PC: 10
Troll Whelps - 5 Whelps: 4
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3
Trollkin Runeshapers - Leader & 2 Grunts: 9
Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7
Kriel Warriors - Leader & 9 Grunts: 11
Dhunian Knot - Leader & 2 Grunts: 6
Nathan Diaz
the answer isn't char restrictions, it's improving other options
Connor Turner
If everything in Circle became comparable in strength to the Sentry Stone, the game would be fucked. Like, royally.
Colton King
i meant re ghetorix
Ethan Price
Warmahordes mostly looks lame to me but the two Hordes "subfactions" in Minions caught my eye. How many models would i need to play a normal sized game? Farrow seem pretty cool.
Daniel Gonzalez
They're not subfactions as such, anymore, they play together now.
At 75 points, the general mainstay for army size, armies go anywhere from 20-40 models on average, though it heavily depends on your caster and choices in list building.
Cameron Peterson
Farrow are like Klingons minus the facade of honour and with more raiding. Guy above you looks weak? Kill the faggot and take his place. The leader of the Farrow is literally called Lord Carver, BMMD, Esq. III.
And they aren't really divided anymore. The only division is in warbeasts. Farrow warlocks can only bring farrow warbeasts, and Gator warlocks can only bring gator beasts. When it comes to infantry, you can bring anything you want.
Oliver Russell
Bringer of Most Massive Destruction. Not a Minions player, but if I was, this is the cunt I'd pick first just for the name.
Nolan Perez
Same. None of the gators really appeal to me, but for some reason Carver just seems like a fucking badass.
Anthony Watson
I posted in an earlier thread but it autopruned like immediately. Got a menoth lot from my brother. Looking at it, some things are magnetized, like I think sanctifier?
But I talked to him and he gave me the lot because "they ruined my bastions"
I have: errants with us, bastions, hierophant, choir, vassals, wracks Kreoss, severius, Castigator, crusader, reckoner, vanquisher, devout, redeemer, repenter, revenger.
What's the good stuff in my pile? Bad? Anything I should pick up?
Bloody Barnabas is not to be underrepresented, leading a suicide crusade in order to ascend to godhood is pretty fucking badass
Eli Young
I this the better thread
I grabbed the Cygnar box and a Stormguard which are apparently the bad ones but whatever might as well make the best of it.
I like this caster a lot for some reason what I else should I get in the future to bring her up to 75?
One note I'd like to try and keep the Ironclad in, being a storyfag she has one in her little story in the book in the box named 'Buster' and that kind of stuff appeals to me.
Also, not a warmachine nub, just a Cygnar nub already play Legion(rip) and Ret.
Evan Ross
legion is fine :P
Owen Ross
stormclad
Levi Thomas
Replace the Kriel Warriors with ANYTHING else and you've got an alright list. Also, you really don't need that many Stone Scribes (and I've found the Elder to be kinda' redundant nowadays as well).
Gavin Hill
So, getting a Stormclad is a great idea since it gets a free focus when it activates near any model designated as a 'Storm Knight.' Squire is also a very useful solo, and a nice staple. If you want to stick to theme there are two other Storm Knight units, the Stormblades and the Stormlances, along with solos based off of both. Sadly, I don't know what she'd specifically wants in high point games.
Joshua Fisher
Really? I thought they were good as a wall o dudes. With the krielstone they should be pretty tanky, no?
Kevin Baker
Tristan has a very good signature spell but his feat and mainstay is related to running jacks,
Jakes and her battlegroup kinda hit fast and scoot.
Luke Brown
what's his sig spell
Matthew Phillips
what does Andy2 get?
Connor Diaz
A very nice hat.
Matthew White
Battle orders
Jaxon Campbell
They just don't have the speed to get where they need to be and do what they need to do. They WILL get shot up on the approach and WILL NOT do much damage when they arrive. If you want a wall of bodies that will get in the way pretty well, Burrowers of all units actually do that better. They can survive the approach a bit better thanks to DEF 13 and Dig In.
But, really, try Kriel Warriors out and you'll probably see what I mean.
Benjamin Bailey
So as a Skorne player, what are the obvious choices for my objectives? Also, do we have a sideboard for Steamrollers, or is it one list or the other, not other mods? Can we use the same Objective for both lists?
Thanks, Veeky Forums.
Noah White
Objectives are less obvious choices now.
But generally, if you don't see a specific reason to take one, either take the smoke cloud to hide your caster behind or take the cover to hide your caster behind.
Caleb Taylor
Updated OP so imma respond here
>No standout stupid shit in Legion
This feels true. Nothing to the level of Sloan and Mantree. What we do have are powerful self sufficient infantry and solos. The design philosophy of the game attempted to shift towards the middle where being stupid silly good list is no longer a requirement to win...
I believe PP failed in that regard. The game still rewards finding the crazy shit and outliers and winning before the dice are dropped. You still want to take the most optimal option and spam it if possible....whats good is that they increased BG size to limit spam of problem concepts within Warmachine what's bad is that it feels like they fell short of cross system balance. Beasts straight up feel over costed and that's an odd thing to say as a Legion player as our beasts were pretty costly coming into the new edition.
That said the game is still fun.
I'm pretty sure the Hellmouth will be our first taste of design space that isn't a bitter pill as Legion.
Joshua Sanders
>No standout stupid shit in Legion
Like L3 being able to threaten into their AD line bottom of 1?
Are these lists posted in order of placing in the tournament? If not, where can I find the rankings for this?
Jordan Nguyen
>AD. >Finally having a downside. >BAD. KEKS
That isn't the problem of Lylyth3. The problem is she can constantly reposition away from retaliation save for magical guns.
Okay this is news.... How so?
Ethan Edwards
L3 threats 30-31". Can Vayl2 actually personally get up the field far enough for her oraculous to make an arcnode?
Cameron Ramirez
Been playin for about 3 weeks now. I'm playing menoth with Malekus and the rest of the battle box. Malekus is so strong, but I was looking at eKreoss or Durst as other casters to try. I really want to run knight exemplars which don't really have a role in an army with malekus. Can any other menoth players tell me about how either of these casters operate?
Isaac Reed
So know what? I am requesting a New Battlebox vs Old Battlebox for all factions since it may help out the newbies.
Nathan Cook
Convergence is easy enough
Old BB was all about stupid denial, which made it harder to use for newbies, but much more annoying in the hands of vets. Access to easy knockdown, easy rough terrain, and SPD debuffs made it excessively powerful at getting the alpha. It wasn't Cryx BB powerful, but it had a lot of tools.
New BB loses a lot of that, but plays more into what newbies are trying to do: deliver heavies. Monitor's gun is useful, though you have to fish for crits, and the Mag Hold + Beacon combo allows you to outthreat every other BB far as I've seen. Diffuser also scales much better into bigger armies, Mitigator was a specialist piece, not really suited to every army, where the Diffuser can find a home in just about every list.
Justin Anderson
What. Convergence? What. Are you talking about.
Gavin Watson
Its a toss up between raiders and witches really.
Cooper Adams
Don't play that game with me.
Dylan Robinson
>Vayl walks 6", 2" Slipstream, Feat, Cast Far Strike on herself, shoots oraculus 14", spells threat 8"
28-30" threat on Vayl2 depending on where the slipstream goes
>but how do you get an oraculus target so far up
Slipstreaming a Raptor
Camden Collins
>it was easy mode in mk2 but now that honor is held by cygnar I want this meme to end. Cygnar is strong, but not on the level of Ret, Khador and maybe even Protectorate.
Carson Morales
>The first would be a generic good list that can handle anything thrown at it like Morghoul1 or Xerxis1. Believe me, that Morg1 list cannot handle antythign thrown at it. I don't think such a list even exists in Skorne right now.
Juan Foster
An average 75p list has between 20 and 30 minis. Though you can start playing with way less.
Hudson Collins
Maddox will definitely like the Cygnar staples, like Junior+Sentinel, Centurion, Stormclad or Storm Lances. I also think she'll love the Hurricane, if that thing is ever released.
Isaiah Hughes
I hope we also get statistics for the German HMDs from last weekend. The list and faction composition was rather interesting, but adding results to the mix makes it a lot more relevant statistically.
Asher Hughes
Dont play what game lol? CoC only have 1 battlebox and all i did was requesting the new BB and the new BB comparsion. And you actually started comparing the two.
Landon Thomas
Their Mk3 Battlebox is different.
It's Monitor/Diffuser/Galvanizer instead of Cipher/Mitigator/Galvanizer
Anthony Mitchell
It is not even released yet. But i believe you. That would change alot actually. Sorry, pal, didnt know about this MK3 stuff for CoC. Lucky me got all the models from old and new BB. Thanks for the tips lol, now all that stuff do make sense.
James Peterson
How do you like is so far? Are the jacks good outside of use with Markus and the whole fire theme?
Owen Thompson
It likely won't be released as a standalone box.
But, same as Mercs and Minions and the old alt boxes, it's just listed as a possible starter.
Brandon Phillips
That Jakes pose is awful, hopefully her non limited model is posed better. Can't wait to see Andrei's reveal.
Gabriel Hall
That's not a limited model. Regardless I like the pose.
Alexander Clark
A Morg1 player went 4-0 last weekend. His only loss at the tournament was the final round where he was forced to use his second list, Rasheth. Morg1's feat is ridiculous. Your beasts can NOT die on feat round.
Jack Harris
To be fair - that morg1 player ran double Aradus Soldiers as a mainstay.
Eli Butler
Only because of le epic gunline maymays. At my LGS gunlines aren't really a worry, though I'd consider magnetizing the Soldier half of my Aradus if I went to a large tournament. I miss giving a Sentinel +4" to shooting and making Ancillary Attacks ;~;
Cooper Perez
>A Morg1 player went 4-0 last weekend Yes and how does that contradict my statement?
Jordan Barnes
While technically it doesn't, you also don't have any real basis for saying that my list can't handle anything thrown at it besides "Well you aren't running Aradus Soldiers". I'm operating on the presumption that I won't be facing oppressive gunlines since I know the players at my LGS, and even if I do face gunlines, I have a LOT of boxes for them to chew through. I mean, maybe I could take out a Gladiator for Orin Midwinter, a Master Tormentor, and a Tyrant Commander since the list is floating a point at the moment.
Aaron Ortiz
It can't beat Ozzy Ossyan or Vyros. It can't beat Khador's Gunjacks+Team Rocket. It can't beat pHaley or Kara and has major problems against eCaine.
It can work against Amon, probably also Sevy2 and Reznik, though removing the Nihilators would make it better against the latter two.
It works really well versus Doublewrath, but not so well against Wormwood (Tiberion would help). It should work similarly well against eDoomy, don't know about Gunnbjorn.
Aradus' would help. But even then you won't be able to get close to 50% versus all popular lists, just against some. You just can't plan on doing that with one list, especially with Skorne.
Connor Wright
You're ignoring the part about how I'd bring Morghoul2 if my opponent's lists looked vulnerable to assassination, which those little gunline fuccbois are.
Bentley Cruz
I just don't think that your pMorg is a valid all-comer. And relying too much on a gimmicky assassination - however cool I personally think it is - doesn't seem like a good plan versus experienced players.
Anthony Miller
I don't think it's gimmicky at all. It warps your opponent's play while Flesh Hooks allows me to get the alpha strike on your heavies. You're forced into a situation where all you can really do is walk backwards, handing me the control point or flag or whatever it is.
Isaac Thompson
And in Mk2 that would have worked. But nowadays there are a lot of common lists that just laser away anything that comes to within 12-20" of them without really committing. A ~17" assassination threat is just not going to cut it against that.
It might work against Ozzy in that it would stop him from feating on you. But he has a very valid assassination of his own and you'll have to walk into that threat repeatedly to pull off your game plan.
Jeremiah Evans
For those who care:
eDurant has Manifest Destiny but that is not his new spell
Elijah Williams
>but that is not his new spell So what you're saying is that he has a never-before-seen spell on top of that?
Hudson Roberts
Yes.
Kayden Powell
Question for all my fellow Iosans, as someone who is newish to the faction can you help clear up the relationships between our casters. Here is what I've gleaned so far.
From same house/organization: >Rahn and Helynna >Vyros and Issyria >Garryth, Kaylessa, Ravyn >Ossyan >Thyron
Share some kind of Friendship/mutual respect: >Kaylessa and Ravyn >Ossyan and Helynna >Vyros and Rahn >Thyron and Vyros >Garryth and Rahn >Garryth and Kaylessa
Am I missing anything?
Noah Young
So, my group is going to be starting up a JML soon and I was wondering something. In week 4 it says caster swap allowed, but in weeks 5 & 6 there is no such clause. Is this intentional?
Leo Stewart
Nothing stands out as particularly amazing, but the castigator and revenger are excellent on feat turn for malekus. The extra die and boosting castigators combustion is a nasty combo. I'm also running a crusader and repenter which don't really synergize and just die horribly. It could be that Im not utilizing them well enough. Crusader is a cheap model with the stats he has though.
Ayden Rogers
So, upon further investigation into the Journeyman League rules, each model you add to your list is a permanent addition to said list (any model/unit you add on week 2 must be present in week 6) The caster swap is also permanent. Once you switch casters, you must finish the league with said caster.
How are you guys that are currently in a JML liking this rule?
Blake Wilson
That's generally how slow grow leagues work. They're not considered super srs, they're intended to get new people into the game and be fun for people picking up new factions.
I like it, because I think it makes an interesting list building challenge. At what point do you add what support, bring a shiels guard etc, and at what point do you bring infantry etc, and considering what you expect your opponents to bring that week. If everyone stays to it it forces a cool meta game for experienced players and something easy for beginners.
I like the low points games, where sometimes maligned jacks like the decimator become really interesting.
The caster swap is where things get crazy.
Adrian Perry
Problem is that the construction rules are fucking retarded. It's a grow league that will result in you having a single utterly terrible list.
Cooper Gray
What would you guys recommend? I have a couple of friends i played Warhammer with and i had 4 not-so-big armies for us to play with. Oh and sometimes i took some stuff which belonged to my brother, to be honest, since he is more interested in painting anyway. Now, when i surely do not like the "ITS META TIME!" thing in WH40k, i am building up 3 armies at a time. PoM, Legion, CoC. And since i've got 2 Warmachine factions, i am willing to "balance" it with another Horde faction. However, after considering all this and that, a question appeared. Which of other factions (Ret, Khador, Sygnar, Circle, Trolls, yes, i do not consider Scorne and Minions as well as Merc because i do not like aesthetics) would be most tricky to play?
Jaxson Kelly
So what's the reaction been like to mk.iii?
Did it wlevate the game or is it being heralded as the end times?
