Rough morning.

What were loyalist primarchs even doing during the heresy? The lion was futzing off after Curze, Guilliman was defending Ultramar, idk where the fuck the Khan was. It's like Sanguinus was the only one doing shit

Khan was basically stuck. He was busy cleaning up a few worlds to bring into compliance, and thanks to some Alpha Legion Shenanigans (Necron Pylon Array on an asteroid) they were able to surround the area they were in with warp interference and keep the news of the Heresy from reaching the Khan, so he was just doing his job with no knowledge of what was going on initially.

The events are detailed in Scars (including the White Scars break-out and entry on the scene of the Heresy), with the AL plot being revealed in "The Serpent Beneath" which is a short story included in the BL book "The Primarchs".

Now how do start fluffing out the Blackshield group I rolled up in the last thread? The bigger and stronger marines part is definitely Fabius and his nurses' work, but why would they go Blackshield? I can understand if Fulgrim and Fabius sent them out to do research and krump so gitz, but why blacken their armor? Wouldn't Fulgrim want people to know that those are his boys?
Ferrus was dead, Dorn was fortifying Terra, Corvus was wrecking havoc on the Traitors in a death or glory style, and Vulkan was well being Vulkan.

The Lion, Sanguinius, and Guilliman were keeping Imperium Secundus together as much as possible. The Khan was trying to figure out what was going on, followed by trying to push through the Ruinstorm to get to Terra. More then fortifying Terra, Dorn was fighting among the outer planets to keep them from being destabilized by the Alpha Legion.

I'm surprised that Alpharius got to Terra first.

I didn't say Alpharius. I said the Alpha Legion.

Why else would Dorn's hair go crazy if not in the presence of a traitor Primarch?

See? Dorn's hair isn't sticking up if he's in a calm state.

He really looks like Trump in that pic.

Reminds me more of pic related honestly.

Zardu and an Apoth sit in the back and hold an objective while summoning Daemons
Chaplain and Jump Pack Apoth join Assault Squad and try for a Turn 2 Assault. The addition of fear on the Chaplain is really nice.
Other Apoth joins the other tactical, they are likely more mid-field objective takers. Nothing flashy with them.
Gal Vorbak come in via the Kharybdis, they rip and tear everything without a 2+sv apart.
Rapiers w/ Quad Guns are for taking out enemy heavy weapon squads and other larger blob units
Javelin is much better with the recent update, I will use him to tank hunt Side/Rear Armour. BS5 with Straffing Run is great, and he packs lots of S8/S9.
Sicaran is for anti-tank as well, and can double as AA if needed.
Medusa is for handling blobs and Deathstars, also its a sexy model.

Is the 2nd Tactical worth it? Should I lose them (and Apoth) and the Javelin for better AA or maybe some Daemon allies? Like Lv3 Tz Herald on Disc and 2x 10 Horrors?

First for the XIV legion.

Whoops! Accidently made a thread for this when I didn't see it in the catalogue, will delete!

Dorn was building up terra for the inevitable battle

I don't see it either so don't

No, you misunderstand. I made a thread when I didn't see this one.

oh hey look, SoS with full helmets.

People keep on talking of home brews for their legions, where can these rules be found in a red book or a /tg gets shit done thread
T. Guy who left /tg when quests were all the rave and nothing good was posted

I'm looking at adding a Magos Prime to my Legio Cybernetica.

Any experience with something like:

Magos Prime = 165 points
(Malagra, Jetpack, Rad Grenades, Chain Fist, Cyber-Occularis x3, Cyber Familiar, Power Weapon)

He'll be joining 6 ferrox thalla with heavy chainblades. Since they reduce enemies to T3 they'll be hunting any fancy terminators or otherwise blowing up vehicles.

Mostly he's an excuse to bring some cyber-occularis to fuck up outflankers.

Sorry. This was a rush job.

It's fine, didn't refresh my catalogue before doing it. All good now.

So, how's everyone doing? Got any new models, anything that needs to be worked on, anything you're looking to get?

Just got a good starting amount of SoH models and a Calth. Needing to finish painting my IH army up though before I delve into that sadly

Writefaggotry is the process. Also I have a question. Would the support staff in the LWs/SoHs 1st company also wear black and red?

>where can these rules be found in a red book
Are you actually an idiot.

How fluffy can you build iron warriors whilst still being a list a competent player could win with

So, what's the point in Coils of the Hydra?

It seems to me that it basically nullifies the legions Mutable Tactics, heavily restricts your unit choices and forces you to pay a somewhat hefty DT tax just to get a gimmick unit and a negative modifier to enemies reserve rolls. The real embarrassment with it all is that if you DO choose to not pay the DT tax and build around the whole army infiltrating, you may as well just play RG instead because they do it better.

I literally can't see why you wouldn't choose any kind of vanilla RoW in favour of this.

be creative with the Warlord choice and you can keep mutable tactics as flexible as you like.
I personally use Autilon Skorr to make sure I can infiltrate my troops, everything else either Deep Strikes, has a DT or can infiltrate on their own. Still highly flexible.

True, I suppose It's more limiting for me with my warlord being Alpharius (gotta take a Primarch, it's one of the biggest appeals of 30k for me). Although then again I hadn't even thought about units like Assault Marines for compulsory troops, as they can deepstrike thanks to being Jump Infantry.

Thanks for opening my eyes user.

happy to assist user, hope you can solve your list issues, it's fun to steal the units of other legions.

The main issue I'm having is not being able to include Rapiers, but I'm unsure whether they need to be put in a transport/infiltrated or not. Technically they are not an infantry unit because they are Artillery, but then again the crew are stated to be Infantry? Regardless I've thrown an email at FW to get a definitive answer.

Unlike other RoWs that rigidly define what units and tactics you will be picking next (thus you and possibly your opponent go into that expecting full well what it will be every time), Coils and Mutable Tactics just lay an extremely flexible groundwork for the army that is both unpredictable and unconventional in the hands of a player who is creative.

How do you guys get your stuff
I'm thinking triplehelixgames.com for the B@C stuff, and then the resin parts Forgeworld or EBay if it's one bit I want
And my plan is build simple tanks out of plasticard and greenstuff once I have a copy of the original, and so scale to work off

Also how well is Forgeworld for replacing parts with massive air bubbles or other defects, and do they tend to ask for the original part to be sent back

>How do you guys get your stuff

Some shady chink.

FW's customer service is generally great, if you have a massively damaged part they'll replace it.

Getting stuff sent back is a lot of effort, so they usually don't even bother.

As for where I got my stuff, bought BaC from an online retailer (at 20% off) and ordered the resin from FW.

That Forgeworld™ Quality

Can you please reveal this secret? I used to know this year's and years ago, but I've since lost contact with Z. Every email, password, and catalog I've found is out of date. He won't respond to the emails , the ones I've tried.

I just want to buy some tanks...

Jesus christ. Might as well 3D print your own.

>bro it's pro converted clearly it's worth the £25

I don't know what I should do next /hhg/. I have my ~3000 pts of Night Lords but no idea how to continue from here. I have no vehicles expect couple dreads and a drop pod so I could expand into that direction but I'm not sure if I want to paint more Night Lords for a while. I've converted a couple of Blackshield models for fun so I could theoretically start to make them into a proper army or a small ally force, but I kinda feel like I'd rather make a real legion force instead of Blackshields. I could also do a small militia force since I have infantry and models that I made for a tyrant's legion army. But I'm not sure if I want to commit into a large project both time-and moneywise. And if I chose to do another legion army (maybe a small one to use as allies), I don't know which one to choose.

Corvus' rejects
Alpha legion aberrations to stop one legion getting supplies
>yo force commander I found this old tech let's use it so our recruits can relieve our forces held up by the siege
You can factor that to be any side and the leader is the force commander realising how much he fucked up so he went exile to not bring shame to his aristocratic family or something

Why not some caestus assault rams

I don't really like big vehicles. I like footslogging.

>Corvus's rejects
I assumed those monsters stayed with him so daddy could give them the Peace. Still messed up on how the Hrud were my enemy.

Well, if you want to take a break from Night Lords, and like Footslogging, why not start up some Death Guard allies, seeing as how they're Sworn Brothers and can reliably footslog?

At least is's not pro painted.

I was considering Death Guard but I'm not sure if they are hard to paint right. I also kinda want something that would relatively simple to paint and make look good.

I dunno how to paint Death Guard either.

If you're interested in IW you could do them, pretty simple with the exception of the Hazard Stripes, but even then, if you have access to stuff like micro masking tape that you could put on your models it would be pretty easy.

Black, white, green, brass, wash. Done.

DG aren't that hard

Spray grey, two thin coats of tan, two thin coats white, wash recesses either black or brown, then edge highlight with pure white

Can someone check the new book whether you can really take Knights as a Legion LoW choice (not as a Allied detachment as before) or not?

According to 1d it was post heresy they were given the emperors peace, and they were made from toddlers, so you could just borrow from the 'unfleshed' or whatever honsou's rejects were called and make them babies IN SPESS
And they can switch sides as much as they want because they don't understand true consequences

yes, 1-2 Knights as a single LoW choice. Same LoW rules apply (25% of your points, 2000 point games and above)

Can an allied detachment take a RoW?

Yes, but you still have to follow the MotL rules, which means you could only do so at 2k+ games unles for some reason you didn't give your primary attachment one.

I could do that, but I sort of want to stick with the EC idea I thought of.

I was going to say Mastodon, but I guess not. There should be a RoW giving you a bonus if you fit your entire army in one transport.

More realistically, Night Lords work best in drop pods.

What about the delegatus?

Hmmm.... That depends on how you interpret it's rules and restrictions, but as it says that the Delegatus must be the army's Warlord I don't think so, especially considering that your Warlord must be part of your Primary detachment.

Take the delegatus as the warlord and put the preator in the allied detachment.

Huh. There's nothing against that, I don't think. Oddly enough.

Anyone got the meme made out of the war without end wallpaper? The one that zooms in on the IF with the arms crossed, captioned with "i see youre a loyalist, im pretty loyal myself"

Did the guy writing a Stone Gauntlet list figure things out before the previous thread died?

I've seen a lot of Stone Gauntlet lists at events, and people say the Fists are among the more powerful legions... but I don't really see how. Breachers are expensive* and Phalanx Warders are even more expensive and for what? What do you get for the additional points? The only good thing I can see about Stone Gauntlet is that it would be pretty rad if you deployed the whole army out of a Mastodon.

*But they don't seem nearly as bad as Destroyers. Is there a more overcosted unit? Recon maybe?

Only way I can see a Stone Gauntlet list work is by using Fortifcations as cheap transports, something like

Polux

3x15 Breachers

3xApothecaries

300pts in cheap heavy support, like a couple of vindis or medusas

Aquila Strongpoint+2 Escape hatches

Because otherwise you're footslogging and that sucks or spending too much in transports and that sucks more.

Quick you must give an interview to a member of your army who did something of note. If play two armies do it for the one you recently played with and has someone who did something of note.

I am still working on it, I really want to make it work but it is looking I might just get tabled if I try to run it.

Someone mentioned I try PotL with veteran snipers, and I am tinkering around with that.

I don't really know how fortifications work, I've read the 1d4chan article and I have my "The Rules" book here.

Do you put them on the field wherever, or only in your deployment zone? If so how do they help you take objectives if you can only put them on your side?

I have most of the things you listed, but I have a warder kit I'd like to use if possible.

My Ex left me a lot of tactical marines, so I suppose I can grab some breacher upgrade kits.... just so pricey.

The books make it seems like Chaos was keeping communications between the loyalists slim so that Horus could take over the galaxy without his brothers interfering.

Each story seems to be about the primarchs finding out about the heresy and high-tailing it to terra in the nick of time.

> So Brother Tebujin, what do you think of today's victory over the Word Bearers?

"Well user, I'll tell you. I wanted to go fast. So I did and won."

>What motivated you today? People are talking about the smile in your eyes and the scream on your lips like it was something special.

"I wanted to go fast and I was going fast. I had to get to the other side of the battle because I got to Terra real soon, so I went fast."

>Praise the Emperor. Back to you Malcador.

Did you cheat on her? Did she leave tactical marines scattered across the floor to represent your emotional betrayal at Isstvan?

Hah, she actually passed away.

The game kind of keeps the memory alive. I never played but I watched a lot.

That there is honesty that shatters sides. That has to be the WSs' plans.
>Step One: Go fast
>Step Two: Win
Repeat.

oh

Hah, I didn't want to bum people out.

That's a good image though!

What legion?

Am I on Istvaan V now?

Imperial Fists, I'd have chosen EC for the colors but hey yellow nice too.

A fellow SU fan on Veeky Forums? What madness is this?

This is an insult to our Legion's name.

You poor man.

It's not crazy relevant, but she was MtF transitioning and I am a lowly battle-sister.

But srsly, no more sympathy pls. I'd rather get ideas for an army haha

I'm glad my tripfagging name is turned off. Lots of twist here, though
Stronghold assault has rules on how to use Forts, friendo.

>Stronghold assault has rules on how to use Forts, friendo.
Awesome, I want to make a really defensive IF force to go with the fluff.

Is stronghold assault a book? I hope it is in the PDF list.

>So Tactical Support Marine of the two-hundred and secondy-second claw, how did you survive the atrocious battle where all of your brothers died so swiftly?

"Well, I didn't shoot this plasma gun once the entire conflict."

>You mean you sat through the whole battle without even lifting a finger to help your squad mates?

"No I rode around in a rhino until it blew up, then my squad walked around and shot things while I just pretended to, but I didn't actually shoot that plasma deathtrap, not once."

>Why did they give you a plasma gun and spend all that time training you for it if you weren't going to shoot it?

"Oh, they really hated me during basic training so they stuck me here. As for how I survived, when the bullets started flying I ducked down behind a rock until all my squad mates had died, then when I saw the warlord fall I made a run for it. I found a good hiding spot and the enemy was so impressed by my ability to hold the line that I got promoted."

I found it in the 40k general thread, disregard!

>Steven Universe
Please die violently.

>another gril on /hhg/
Please have Skype

Wait, you tell her to due violently and then ask to be friends?

Classic Curzefag!

>I am a lowly battle-sister.
>mfw
Oh my.
>But srsly, no more sympathy pls. I'd rather get ideas for an army haha
What do you have already?

I like making my friends die violently.

>Please die violently.
I admit that the fanbase is.... garbage. I really just like the show at face value, none of the subtext crap.

>Please have Skype
Done! Although sharing it....

>What do you have already?
Well..... I have a stone gauntlet thing I have tried to make, then I have a sigismund list.

Someone mentioned to try polux with PotL and veteran snipers also.

Pic is the PotL, i am 50 over....

Oh you!

No, I shall regard you still.
NEW Fort rules say Forts that cost ~500 (base?) and(or?) have a D weapon (like that Aquila Strongpoint) are treated as a Lord of War.
Also, don't fully rely on Interceptor: almost nothing can stop a deepstriking Arvus lighter containing six dual-graviton Secutors.
Not even by cost, not even plasma Deredeos.
That's a shitty attitude m8

Worth noting that I plan to teleporty the templar with polux

I've been lurking 40k general / HHG an unhealthy amount the last week.

Just get rid of some heavy bolters dude.

Cowards die in shame! Or you're going to get promoted again.
I think you need a visit from the Church Knight.
Can we see the Siggy list?

>Can we see the Siggy list?
Yes, here it is. It is not nearly as defensive as I like to play.

I kind of built it around templarbros.

Nonsense! Cowards live in shame! And get better at it each time!

Well, as long as you're not one of those fucks who inserts SU into fucking EVERYTHING, I suppose I can tolerate you.

No problem, just send it to my fake email: [email protected]

I learned the hard way, well I guess the semi-hard way as I haven't played a game since I got these units, that I am sorely lacking in AA.

I'm low on dollars, so I am trying to use the models I have before buying more.

On my honor, I have never inserted it anywhere.

When someone brings it up I might comment or start a conversation on it.

Anime/shows like that are things that I enjoy, but I have never understood the whole "fandom" thing. I enjoy them personally, and feel weird talking about them with other people.

Plus all the toxic tumblr BS.
