You weren't as bad as Cruddace.
That's all i'll say.
Yes, but my aim is getting better.
What a coincidence! I'm getting better at using holographic decoys too!
who?
MATT. FUCKING. WARD.
...
Step it up.
B-but I can't! I'm too poor to afford Bluelightâ„¢ technology!
You can't stop me now.
Who is this turbo faggot? I've honestly never heard of him before.
All hail the second cumming of Matt Ward! He who prevailed against GW and won!
Actually I do, I didn't see him as that horrid. not great either, but so much better than the shit we have these days..
Nope. You ruined 40k, and are one of the reasons it's in this state of disrepair.
But user, that's not Tom Kirby.
Well, it ain't grimdark if it's not in a state of disrepair.
>being this much of a newfag
Ward used to write codices for GW. Lots of people on Veeky Forums used him as a punching bag; I never really minded him. Wrote stuff for Ultramarines, Grey Knights and practically invented the Newcrons. His rules were kinda dumb, though; they fit in way more with 30k's power level than 40k's. Make of him what you will, but he's much better than the shitty writers that stayed like Cruddace.
I honestly feel a little bad for Ward. His stuff wasn't shit, but it was sometimes unbalanced or changed the fluff in odd ways. He honestly seemed to like the game and the hobby, and I never got too rustled over anything of his. Despite all of this, he practically got pushed out because he was getting actual fucking death threats from all the dwellers who disagreed with the changes he wrote in.
>Defending the fucking dreadknight and croissants
Beginning of the end desu
>Implying "sell more giant models" wasn't a corporate decision
>being this heinously angry that someone doesn't adhere to one's own beliefs about overpriced miniatures
I mean I didn't like the baby carriers either, but the croissants were kinda cool lookin'.
But what about the way he handled Wood Elves? It was like they were treated as OP in 6th Ed., but couldn't even compete in 8th.
And yes, I miss him. I want to give him a no-homo brohug and buy him a drink.
As someone who didn't play 'cron Croissant heavy armies at my LGS made me want to give myself the emprah mercy.
>inq retinues
>necron royal courts
his 40k books had good rules, and that's the only thing the guy writing the codex has control over
>but fantasy
>but muh sisters
he had no control over what is going to happen to sisters and age of sigmar may as well be a reason why he left
I never said I liked the rules, quite the contrary in my original post. They look cool in that sorta silly way.
Most likely. Though if he did in fact write khaine I can't say I liked it very much.
>he had no control over what is going to happen to sisters
MUH KHORNATE KNIGHTS
MUH SISTERS
FUCK those retards. I'm still fucking mad at them.
>MUH KHORNATE KNIGHTS
MUH SISTERS
I still don't think Matt ward was "that" bad. I think it was some bizzaro corporate movement
Is Phil Kelly still working for GW?
Are Grey Knights still OP as they were in 5th? I haven't played 40k in many years
Not in the slightest.
They got nerfed hard in rules and options.
Can we all agree that Ward really is our Spiritual Liege?
As soon as we all agree that Gulliman needs to get off life support and MAKE THE IMPERUIM GREAT AGAIN
Yes.
...
>IF ANYTHING BAD EVER HAPPENS TO A FEMALE IT'S SEXIST AND MISOGYNISTIC
Beta faggot wk spotted
This is a strange hologram
To be fair, when the only times the Sisters get attention is them being brutally slaughtered before Space Marines show up and win, fans get pissed.
That's what the Guard is for.
Do you know what his latest works are? Why was DE 7th ed so fucking bad when 5th was based?
Bump because I also want to know this.
Honestly, yes. While the daemons book for fantasy was stupidly OP, the newcrons and grey knight books were strong, but not OP. His fluff was iffy, but he wrote solid rules
Nothing in his career became him like the leaving of it.
The main difference between the likes of Cruddace and Ward is that Ward's fuckups were all due to him being an overeager fanboy that needed reining in, as opposed to the unholy combination of malice and extreme incompetence that Cruddace displays.
>To be fair, when the only times the Sisters get attention is them being brutally slaughtered before Space Marines show up and win, fans get pissed.
You're being hyperbolic.
>That's what the Guard is for.
So that you can complain about how misandristic it is when millions of men die every day?
I liked you as Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Cumberbatch.
>calls another a newfag
>adds long-winded explanation
>does not tell the other to just lurk moar
do you even Veeky Forums?
Guard players want our victories too ;-;
>THERE ARE DOZENS OF US, DOZENS!!!
Not him but do you understand what "lurk moar" entails? You ask the person to hang around the place more until somebody talks about that subject... which.... Won't happen in a long time probably UNLESS SOMEBODY EXPLAIN.
I don't even know why I am explaining it to you, you fag.
If only we had a wiki full of old memes and topics we don't talk about any more, so newfags could find out about all the Veeky Forums history they missed.
Oh wait.
>hyperbolic
Please list off as many stories as you can find from a source that isn't a SoB book where the Sisters aren't mentioned so they can be slaughtered.
Wait Ward got fired? Fuck. now I can't use the angry Ward memes I used to save.
Don't forget this
lurk moar, faget
>While the daemons book for fantasy was stupidly OP
I kept hearing this but I never asked: why was this true?
A combination of not paying for powerful special rules, being generally undercosted, and Slaanesh being OP
He didn't get fired, he quit because of death threats and so much hate from gronads
The retards I was talking about are the faggots who TO THIS DAY complain about grey knights and mat ward because he had the audacity to kill some sisters in a throwaway fluff passage.
No, and I never will. He did terrible things
>it will never be 2005 again
Yes yes i miss the Fun aspect from my Grey Knights.
Psybolt ammo and psychotropic grenades best kit from that book.
Psychotrope Grenades were military-grade bullshit though. They may look tame after the insanity of 6E but they were crazy for 5E.
I miss the time before he even came to GW
>>Defending the fucking dreadknight and croissants
You do understand that models get designed first and then the writers are simply told to make it work?
In this particular case, it doesn't matter. Both dreadknight and the croissants were abominations rule-wise.
In all seriousness, what is he doing now? Did he land a new gig somewhere?
Spirit, why do you torment me still?
I don't even give a shit about the Warhams and I can recognize that smug bitch-face.
Editing a book and playing Warfarm
