Recently: You're with the group that's gone to break into the pharmacy to steal a drug that blocks psychic activity.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game. Weak moves tend to be quicker.

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

VALOR

This lady's approach seems poorly planned

It's really nice to see the quest is back.

> Tfw haven't caught a gobble thread since we got past like the first elite four dude
> Caught up today
Heck yes

You’re going with the smaller group to the pharmacy. You ride on top of Devon. He constantly leaps from one side of the road to the other to check out every little thing. He’d listen if you got him to focus, but he’s enjoying himself.

Emma, on her Mamoswine, laughs. Jeanine is also riding on Mamoswine.

Selina, the psychic trainer you fought in the league, is here too. She awkwardly looks at you once in awhile. She probably still feels weird about getting caught trying to cheat. You’re surprised to see her here, but you guess with her psychic abilities she’s an asset.

Sato, Vernon, and Schechena are all getting nostalgic over stuff from a million years ago.

Everyone is treating this like a milk run.

You pass a sign saying that the town is only a few kilometers away.

“So what’s the plan?”

Emma looks a little guilty. “It’s behind the counter. We’ll have to bust in and take it. But the league will compensate the after this is all over.”

>Then let’s make it quick. Smash and grab!
>We should try to talk the into helping us.
>You can break in alone.
>Something else

Just in time to gobblegobblegobble

>Then let’s make it quick. Smash and grab!
Let's work as a team again this thread eh?

>>Then let’s make it quick. Smash and grab!
Louder then we used to do things but oh well

>>You can break in alone.

>You can break in alone.

>We should try to talk the into helping us.

>You can break in alone.

Can we ask why we can't just ask for the drugs since Emma is clearly a member of the Elite Four, and if the pharmacy is not under Hornbeam's control, they can probably guess why we want it.

>Then let’s make it quick. Smash and grab!

>Then let’s make it quick. Smash and grab!

Did you guys not learn anything from last thread?

I never learn anything from anything. Kat's a thief, why should everyone else get their hands dirty?

>We should try to talk them into helping us.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't really see why it'd be a problem.

To be fair a stealth mission is much more appropriate for going solo.

I didn't think we had time for a stealth mission though?

Well it doesn't have to be that slow depending on the situation inside. But I voted to smash and grab.

“Alright! Let’s make it fast, then”

Your group arrives fairly close to the main street of the tiny town. Or hamlet. Or whatever.

It’s just across the streets from the bushes you’re all hiding in. You scope it out to see if there’s anything to watch out for. No Team Imperium members that you can see. There are two cops, though. They’re just chatting and taking their time.

“Let’s just wait them out, they’ll leave eventually.”

“We should take them out. Just disable them so they can’t complicate things.”

There’s still some more debate. Every gym leader and Elite Four has a different philosophy on approaching a problem, so there’s always some disagreement.

“We can’t attack the police!”

“Well we can’t trust anybody. Who knows how many people Hornbeam has turned.”

“He can’t get everybody. I’m sure he’s more concerned about mayors. This is the middle of nowhere.”

>Take out the officers with moves like String Shot and Thunder Wave
>Wait for them to leave
>Something else

>Take out the officers with moves like String Shot and Thunder Wave

I can't go back to the start and choose team rocket, but at least we can live vicariously for a little bit.

>Wait for them to leave
Shit.

>Take out the officers with moves like String Shot and Thunder Wave
It's for a good reason. If we take risks and fail it's much worse.

>Something else
Make a distraction somehow? Like call the police with a bogus crime, and get these guys redirected elsewhere?

>Take out the officers with moves like String Shot and Thunder Wave
There's no time, I'm sure they'll come to understand eventually.

Can we let out 1 of our Pokemon and have it go on a "rampage" to draw away their attention?

>Take out the officers with moves like String Shot and Thunder Wave

Not a bad idea, as long as we make sure it can escape somehow.

Changing my vote
to distracting them with a rampaging pokemon

I'll switch to pokerampage too.

That sounds good, but will that keep them distracted for long enough?

How long will we need, I wonder? If we pick a sturdy enough pokemon it should hold their attention for a decent while I figure.

“Wait. I have an idea. We can draw them away and keep them busy.”

The others nod. That’s a good idea.

You reach for your belt. Who do you want to send to fake going on a rampage?

Levi is the obvious choice, but a coastal town like this might have a countermeasure like the electric net Joey was going for on his boat. Still, she could easily get everyone’s attention just by roaring. And she’s smarter and tougher than a random wild Gyarados, right?

>Devon (Houndoom)
>Leviathan (Gyarados)
>Zappy Dan (Magnezone)
>Destiny (Kingdra)
>Aria (Meloetta)
>Raistlin (Alakazam)
>As someone in the group to send one of theirs
>Something else

>Devon (Houndoom)
He's a tough cookie too, and has the speed to evade and run away when needed.

I feel like Raistlin would be pretty good because he'd be able to teleport, but Alakazams don't really go on rampages.

>Zappy Dan (Magnezone)

>>Leviathan (Gyarados)

>Devon (Houndoom)

>Devon (Houndoom)

>Leviathan (Gyarados)
How's the datebin coming along Gobble?

>>Devon (Houndoom)

>Zappy Dan (Magnezone)

>Leviathan (Gyarados)

You go a bit back into the bushes and take out Devon. He’s a bit confused at why you want him to go cause a scene, but he understands that it’s important, so he’ll do his best.

“Remember. Don’t hurt anybody. Just get the attention of the police and get out of there if it gets too intense.”

He grunts seriously, then runs off.

You return to the group a few feet away, and watch. After a few minutes, the police pick up their radios, make a joke about Mrs.Jenkins exaggerating a lost Houndour or something. They leave, still taking their time.

“That’s our cue! Let’s go, people!”

Your group power walks across the empty street to the pharmacy. You see a camera pointing at the entrance. You’re just outside of it’s view, though.

>Blow it up
>Just walk in and rob the place quickly
>Have Dan zap the wires and fry the electricity to the building
>Something else

>Have Dan zap the wires and fry the electricity to the building

Can somebody give us a boost so we can move the camera's line-of-sight? That way we don't fry the lights inside the building.

>Stringshot the camera

>>Have Dan zap the wires and fry the electricity to the building

>Have Dan zap the wires and fry the electricity to the building
Sounds simple. Maybe too simple. But I'm not gonna get overly paranoid.

Supporting!

I kind of like that, I'm a little worried that shorting out the building could make things harder?

On the other hand, it could actually make things easier because it'd short the alarms.

>Have Dan zap the wires and fry the electricity to the building

They probably have more cameras inside too

That'll alert the dudes inside and cause an alarm. Just don't see the point of doing it if just walking in would be easier.

changing
to

This is a Pharmacy, who the hell is watching those cameras?

Send Dan in he'll fry all the cameras.

[5 minute vote just to be sure. Fry the electrical wires and disable anything inside, or stringshot/other harmless attacks to block the camera?]

>fry
>string

Por que no los dos?

Better safe then sorry honestly

>fry

>string

hm. It seems like frying might be smarter if they have other security stuff in the store. On the other hand, it could also wind up causing a lot more damage because they might have stuff that needs to stay refrigerated and their security might not be all that great in the first place.

>>string

If we're using stringshot to keep the camera from rotating in our direction, fine. There's a bunch of medicines that are kept refrigerated that may be important to some people. I dunnno.

>string

>fry

All these people that can't vote right.

Fuck, I was too slow tabbing in to vote. Oh well.

string wins either way

I was debating the options.

Well, I wasn't clear on how we would be stringshotting the camera, my man. Just tryna understand.

I wasn't even voting, I was just pointing out that we could do both fairly easily

You recommend using String Shot on the camera.

“Wise.” Sato agrees as he orders his Sewaddle to handle it.

Your group enters into the store with a purpose. The married couple running in looks confused at the large group of strangers.

“Can I help y-”

Jeanine leaps to hold open the door leading to the back. The older man was just about to close it, probably locking you out. “I’m really sorry but we don’t have a lot of time.”

“Now wait just a minute.” He tries to pull it closed. Emma and her Pokemon help. She starts rummaging through the inventory in the back. She has the man enter the code for an electronic safe, then sends him away. “Here it is.” She gets a few Pokemon to help. Vernon, Sato, and Schechena keep a lookout at the front of the store or watch the couple.

The man tries to look at what she’s grabbing in the back, but he’s kept away. “Look. Take what you want, but don’t hurt us. There’s money in the register.”

“I swear we’re not bad people,” Jeanine insists.

The couple doesn’t seem to have recognized your group. You guess they don’t follow Pokemon battles or the league.

Vernon whispers to Schechena and the others. “We should take the money and all sorts ‘a stuff. Make this look like an unspecific type a robbery. Maybe we’ll fly under the radar.”

Emma turns to Vernon. “What?”

“If we just steal the drug, Hornbeam will know where we are.”

Schechena steps in, half joking. “In that case, you might as well torch the place to cover our tracks.” She gestures to a second camera on the inside that’s seen at least Emma and Jeanine. It looks much older and lower quality than the one that was outside. Damnit. Frying the system would have made sure you weren’t recorded. At the same time, it might have made getting through that electronic lock pretty tricky.

(continued)

Time to jot down 'Rocket uniform' for lewd cosplay ideas.

“Where are the tapes?” Sato asks the couple.

“Off site.” The pharmacist lies. You can tell from his wife's reaction. It’s somewhere in the building.

You help Emma load up the last of the drugs into a sack. She looks like she has no idea what to do.

>Just leave with the drug. Who cares if Hornbeam knows.
>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery
>Torch the building. It’s harsh, but you’ll save time and cover your tracks. Insurance and the league can compensate the couple.
>Something else

>Just leave with the drug. Who cares if Hornbeam knows.
Yeah let's not burn down the place. Dunno if we got the time to clean house either.
Night, Gobble!

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery
Ok guys, if my DnD group knows anything about finding information. we should tape the grandpa to a chair and start pulling nails, while our pokeymans rape his wife.

>>Just leave with the drug. Who cares if Hornbeam knows.

>Threaten his wife, if he doesn't speak Trunks gets to work

That's quite dark, user.

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery

It's a threat it's supposed to be.

It's not dark, user, it's Ghost/Grass

>Threaten his wife, if he doesn't speak Trunks gets to work

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery

in hindsight, starting to feel like we should have just tried talking like normal people first.

Or just follow through with the robbery. If we let hornbeam see then the whole thing was pointless.

Though that's not quite accurate, it's more that I feel like we're probably being too paranoid about all this from the start.

how would he see it though? He hasn't gone full Anti-Life Equation yet.

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery
Night anons, please don't go too far

> Tfw reading this quest always makes me wanna write up a semi-realistic pokemon setting
I have better things to do, but it's so tempting, damnit

“Come on, let’s just search for the tapes.” You whisper to the others.

As you’re searching, you make sure to visibility and clearly rummaging through the register, pocketing the cash in front of the couple. You feel pretty guilty. They seem like they’re not bad people.

You and your group take a few minutes to look around. You keep grabbing random assortments of boxes of pills and cough drops and anything else. Hopefully the couple and the police report will just see this as a strange robbery. There’s no way something like this will even be something that Hornbeam hears about,

“Found it!” Selena finally says at last. You suspect she was doing some mind reading, but she has the sense not to be obvious about it. It’s under a cupboard that doesn’t look like it opens. You grab the tape and head out the door.

“Go go go!” Everyone heads to the bushes. There’s a strong sense of tension because of how long that took.

Since the pharmacy is a bit more elevated than other parts of the town, you can see Devon being cornered by the police. He’s firing off small warning shots to keep them away. An officer lifts his radio and signals to the other. Looks like they’re splitting up. One will come after your group while the partner makes sure Devon doesn’t burn anything down.

>Run deep into the buses. Devon will be able to find you with his sense of smell.
>Go rescue Devon while the group leaves. Be stealthy (risk of getting caught)
>Send Raistlin to retrieve Devon (risk of being really suspicious and notable)
>Something else

>Run deep into the buses. Devon will be able to find you with his sense of smell.

>>Run deep into the buses. Devon will be able to find you with his sense of smell.

>Spend time finding the tapes and taking money and other drugs. Make this look like a (normal) robbery
Leave all the extras hidden somewhere they'll be found in a day or two with an apology note.
