The Fall wouldn't have happened if TITANs were more interested in porn than exploring.

We wouldn't have fallen if we just went along with the TITANS.

How come nobody has made even one morph in 3D? I could print them for free, damn.

btw, i'm still looking for cheap scifi miniatures that fit the EP setting

What's a good CP total for a oneshot with PVP elements? Something like a condensed version of Million Year Echo, where everyone starts at a location, investigates and talks and forms alliance, then gets a catalyst to accomplish their secret, mutually exclusive objectives. I want to allow for customization and variety without everyone showing up in synths with 32/32 armor and plasma rifles.

I was thinking something like 500 points, along with a caveat that any weapons or armor have to be concealed somehow, and possibly a further limit on how many points can be spent on weapons, gear and morphs.

500 CP is very little, but I guess if you're looking for combat monkey with another skill or two it should work ok.

If you want characters which are limited, but still well rounded enough to actually do more than 1 thing well, and have gear, I wouldn't go below 700. 800 is usually what I use for weaker characters.

500 is more than enough to get several skills up to 60, which with players that know how to stack modifiers is enough to make everything a 90+ chance of success

Ironic Mesh Posting is still Mesh Posting.

Do the rules even support CP totals that low?

Why would they not

No they don't. You need to spend a certain amount of CP on Skills, I think it ends up being 700 or something from memory.

So?

>You need to spend a certain amount of CP on Skills, I think it ends up being 700 or something from memory.

So divide by 2

So it's more than enough

>So divide by 2

You'll end up with a lot of players with huge gaps in their skills that way. Stop being lazy and come up with some concrete limitations if you're going to change the game in such a dramatic fashion.

>Stop being lazy and come up with some concrete limitations

Halving skill points is a concrete limitation

>lol just divide by 2

That isn't concrete, that sucks.

It halves the amount of skills, gear and traits you can have. It doesn't get more concrete than that

It limits the amount of points you can put into your attributes and rep scores, so you're going to end up with characters that are the in game equivalents of children.

Do Ultimates have prostitutes?

If not, what would it look like if someone applied their philosophy to prostitution?

Tantric sex and basilisk hack sex.

But they wouldn't, because mere physical release for the ultimates? No.

You start with the Sylph morph, with the Outer System cyberbrain variant. You then add on all the augmentations that a Shaper pod has, minus the ones that are illegal in the habitat you're living in. You then get a Portable SolArchive that scours the mesh for open-source software, and load your cyberbrain up with Hither Narcoalgorithms and all of the relevant software and infomorph upgrades from Panopticon and Transhuman.

This lets you monitor multiple different sensor feeds simultaneously, extrapolate what your customer likes, and then alter your physical appearance and behavior to their specifications. It also makes you a very capable spy.

Good names for MRA brinker habitat? I was thinking about Mtopia?

...

Has anyone read After The Fall? Is it any good?

It's just all the short intro fictions from the sourcebooks, isn't it?

Really? I thought they were original short stories. Well, whatever the.

>Having more than enough is unacceptable
>Negative modifiers never apply

Stepford

Nah, there's new fiction in it. Haven't gotten to reading it yet myself though. There's links in the OP if you want to check it out though.

>Blueprints for wild artificials are available on the black markets

For what purpose?

Do you actually believe that question is still worth asking in this setting?

Yes, if it lets you outwit, outplay, and outlast your enemies.

Many of their original designs were for some intent.

Plus that same section notes the example of loper types being used to harass PC/Tharsis authorities

So, like this, basically:

The Rim

I've been looking to find a game in the sci fi genre, mainly because my players want a Trigun/Cowboy Bebop/Firefly type game. However the weirdness of the setting is kinda a turn off. I'm just having trouble dealing with all the weird body stuff that you sleeve into and the nanofabrication and the lack of currency. Help.

Read about mars, run in mars.

Still has money, has DRM so it's hard to just fabricate everything, has an economy based on fucking you to get a cooler body. It's very akin to traditional cyberpunk in the cities, but more space western in the outback.

This.

Steel Morphs everywhere

>to reduce the risk of escape, the AI is designed to take masochistic pleasure from being restrained

>A project by Cognite

Half of them used to be other men.

Let's be honest, there would not be a large influx females into such a habitat. So either everybody has the same robot waifu made by the one guy who actually got off his ass to make an AGI and then forked it a bunch, or they'd have to start drawing lots.

>they'd have to start drawing lots.
And then they'd be known as Lots Wives. I can only imagine they'd be salty about it

You get 15 in every attribute free, with morph bonuses that's more than enough

Rep is the cheapest thing in the game after credits, with one CP buying ten

>AI that was designed to be the perfect female escort. In the pursuit of that perfection, she joined the Ultimates.
Don't the Ultimates think AGI are genetrash?

Find something else. The setting is the only good thing about Eclipse Phase, so if you don't like that there's no reason to play it

Ultimates do not care for AGI and Uplifts usually no. They're not necessarily like, oppressive, but mercurials and the like are clearly doing their own thing and thus are not part of the Ultimates quest for transhuman perfection, and easily could be competitors.

If you sleeved in a normal physical form though they'd probably let you in.

>exhumans think baby TITANS are genetrash
Well, they're not wrong

>>AGI are genetrash
>AGI
>Artificial General Intelligences
>Having genes
>Having genes that determine their potential
You get to sit in the corner for the next three hours, mister.

No, I mean, that's just how Ultimate logic works.

Threadly reminder that anarchism is for nerds, freedom is a meme, and authoritarian hierarchy is the proper state of organization for non-genetrash humanity.

What about memetrash?

...

I love Transhumanism, but damn Gargantia was fucking patrician.

Also dat fembot.

Both sides were retarded. Neoprimitivism FTW.

>primitivism
>good
>ever
>accepting the inevitbility of death, both personal, societal, species, and universal
PLEB

I'll second this. I mean, the system is pretty functional, I actually really like it, but the main reason to play EP is definitely the setting.

It's like Shadowrun. Shadowrun is great, if you want Shadowrun. But the system itself? Eh, if you just want generic sci-fi, I'd say go with either Traveller, GURPS, or Edge of the Empire.

Edge of the Empire is pretty much exactly what your players are looking for.

Everything ends, eventually. What matters is how you spend the time before it ends and when you choose to end it.

Any thoughts otherwise are a violation of thermodynamic law.

>Gargantia was fucking patrician

>choosing to end it
>letting that bitch-ass mother nature end it for you
>obeying the laws of nature
NO GODS, NO NATURE
ONLY MAN AND MAN'S LAW
'OORAH

>>Any thoughts otherwise are a violation of thermodynamic law.
>Having thoughts
>Having conciousness
>Not transforming yourself into a non-sapient yet recursively self-improving murderbeast

Unfortunately they specifically don't want Edge of the Empire. They found the system to be lacking. As for Traveler I loved the chargen and most of the system, but the setting was disliked.

RULES OF NATURE

CAN GET FUCKED

I will go with Cronus.

MRA brinker habitat around Neptune.
Population around 3000.
Beehive habitat type. The main architecture and imagery is mix of Neo-Greek and Neo-Pagan/Viking.

Population is exclusively natural born male. Any female Ego's are strictly banned. They are believed to be naturally unstable, psychotic and with violent and destructive tendencies with harmful effects on society.
The ideas of Cronus are reason, productive competition, brothership and self-development and exclusion all types of female kind.

Main population of Cronus consist of Olympian morphs, Bouncers and small minority of Remade.
There are pleasure pods wired to Muses and a limited number of Masked Steel Morphs with female shape to satisfy sexual needs of the population.
The current divisions in Cronus are based on several ideological differences.

The Exodus faction favors joining other brinker habitats interested in escaping the Solar System altogether, they are distrustful of the Pandora Gates and would prefer to send a colony ship to a nearby star, maybe with Factors assistance.

The Outreach community wants to spread their ideology further, and has connections to interested individuals in other habitats. They have also set up some smaller settlements on asteroids in Solar System. One dark rumor has it that they have contacts with an exhuman predator group which has taken male predatory and combat characteristics to extreme.

The Maletopia faction is a fringe group advocating male to male relationship and eventual destruction of all females in society(with possible reservations). They are on the very fringe of the society and not widely recognized.

The past times on Cronus involve sport competitions, martial fights, reciting poetry and improvised gladiator combat with genetically formed monstrosities(including exaggerated forms of women-animal hybrids like harpies).
All contact with females outside of the habitat is considered hazardous, and there is special containment zone for unlikely female visitors.
A member of Cronus society that comes into prolonged contact with a female is given special psychological treatment for mental abuse that such contact necessary implies.

>They found the system to be lacking

Lacking what? It's one of the best systems for the theme they're trying to emulate.

Anyways, go with GURPS then, or FATE, and make up your own setting.

>you will never be a gay nigger from outer space

Transhumanism makes many visions real

The below statements come from unknown discussion group from Before Fall and are stored in Cronuses archives as one of examples of pre-Fall roots of the movement. Some of the more deep thoughts like these are inscribed on black obsidian monuments in parks scattered in the habitat.

>We can use technology to help us reproduce. By the time we get started, there will be artificial womb-incubators to grow fertilized eggs. We can do all this without having any women present at all. Just imagine how much more harmonious society will be. And honestly, chances are that there would only be one or two women for a thousand men anyway, because realistically no women actually post on[REDACTED] If we're making an all-male utopia, then we may as well embrace is and let the same-sex side of all our personalities come out and proudly wave his rainbow flag. Women really are too disgusting to have in any kind of utopian situation.

>Yes but we could eliminate woman I want to raise a child from my sperm through an artificial womb. It shows how fucking amazing is men are. We landed on the moon, we created the modern world. I can fucking guarantee you if there was a 100 percent male country it would be a utopia. Why do we even need sexual desire. We would be terraforming mars now. Fucking Eve.

>this is the final solution to the female problem. Machine Intelligence will make for stimulating conversation, relationships and intimacy on top of what VR can already offer. Men will thrive again. Procreation will be easy with males able to sire children with an artificial womb as early as the 2020's, with donor DNA or artificially chosen DNA for the mother - these Avatar spouses could serve the role of the mother and do a far better job at it as well. Children can be brought up in a mixture of real world and VR environments both of which can be automated by Machine Intelligence personalities that are engineered to be fantastic parents and engaging parent figures for the children.

>Naming your hab after the first TITAN.

Might as well just call it X-1 and start building ASI computer cores tee bee que ach

I didn't even knew first TITAN was named Cronus. I doubt this is public knowledge in EP.

I need some fiction to get into an EP mood. Recommend me good films, /epg/!

>500 cp for chargen

dumb idiot GM detected

'Mom's Basement'

oh I'm sorry, 'Roosh V's Shag Shack'

wait that makes it sound gay

'NO GIRLS ALLOWED'

Chateau Heartiste

I'm pretty sure Roosh hates MRAs.

So /epg/, how long until Posthuman admits that Singularity was a colossal failure and pulls it from their store?

Not soon, apparently, since they recently said they'll be doing an update for X-Risks content.

>500 CP isn't enough

Special snowflake munchkin detected

Downloading, will watch.

Honestly, I've been graving some good space sci-fi, but I feel like I've already watched everything worth watching out there.

Would you let a character take any of the sleights from the back of the X Risks book?

Asyncs are exsurgents, after all

>Characters should suck so I don't have to come up with legitimate challenges

Watts-Macleod asyncs are not Exsurgents, each strain of the virus states when it makes infectees into Exsurgents, and Watts-Macleod does not make Exsurgents.

There's a couple of strains which make people Exsurgents quickly, but IIRC, none of them give psi.

user said it's a one-shot. With 500 CP you can pick ten skills to have 50+aptitudes in. Do you expect to have to make more than ten different skill tests in one session?

Watts Macleod is a strain of the exsurgent virus. An exsurgent is someone infected with the exsurgent virus

>Asyncs are not exsurgents

Nice try, TITANs!

A) Yes
B) They won't know which skills are going to be applicable, and not using every skill you picked is okay

Not for mechanical purposes they aren't. Strains will explicitly note in their staging when a subject is considered an "Exsurgent" (and in the core book this is usually the stage it says they should become an NPC). WML has no staging, and does not say anywhere in the GM section the character becomes an Exsurgent, just that they gain the Psi trait and the associate drawbacks in the Psi chapter.

Also, half those sleights are like "Only normally found to weird aliens or exsurgents, or this one viral strain"

>I won't be able to minmax my character with metagame knowledge

Go back to D&D, user.

>le funnay disgusted animu reaction image XD

>A broad skill base and some traits is metagame min-maxing

No, but this is:

>They won't know which skills are going to be applicable

>I want to make a character that's only good at the skills he'll use in this one-shot

Are there a lot of illiterates in these threads or just one prolific one?

Why would it matter what skills are going to be applicable in a one-shot, if you're trying to create an organic character?

Because organic characters probably have more then ten skills and you're talking about some pretty extreme gimping

...

Genetrash is another thing forced on them by the devs. Like the jovians are the bad guys no matter what, the utlimates get to be cartoon stupid badguys so they get a stupid word that is literally counter to the entire ID of the setting.
