HOLY FUCKING KEK

>In the past few months we've seen an increase in the volatility in the value of Bitcoin and a significant increase in the fees to process transactions on the Bitcoin network. For example, transaction fees that are charged to the customer by the Bitcoin network have skyrocketed this year, topping out at close to $20 a transaction last week (compared to roughly $0.20 when we initially enabled Bitcoin). Unfortunately, Valve has no control over the amount of the fee. These fees result in unreasonably high costs for purchasing games when paying with Bitcoin. The high transaction fees cause even greater problems when the value of Bitcoin itself drops dramatically.

>Historically, the value of Bitcoin has been volatile, but the degree of volatility has become extreme in the last few months, losing as much as 25% in value over a period of days. This creates a problem for customers trying to purchase games with Bitcoin. When checking out on Steam, a customer will transfer x amount of Bitcoin for the cost of the game, plus y amount of Bitcoin to cover the transaction fee charged by the Bitcoin network. The value of Bitcoin is only guaranteed for a certain period of time so if the transaction doesn’t complete within that window of time, then the amount of Bitcoin needed to cover the transaction can change. The amount it can change has been increasing recently to a point where it can be significantly different.

Are you living under a rock? This shits been posted enough times already here.

who cares about Steam, it did not affect the price of BTC at all lol

>hurrr btc is da only cwypto

why do normies and cucks keep pushing this maymay

finally some common sense

more dumps on the way

This is from yesterday.

>Steam stops accepting bitcoin
>It moons $4k

Steam is apparently irrelevant in bitcoin prices

Steam has literally always been shit, I never understood the hype around it and I've been using it since 2004.

Why don't they start using vertcoin or bcash?
With vertcoin they could even promote or integrate the one-click miner somewhere and push it as "get games for free by mining vertcoin".

who gives a shit.

is btc the worst ponzi shitcoin on the market or what

1. Why do they care about transaction fees when the customer pays them?

2. Why do they care about fluctuating price when on average it is going up?

Because the customers were complaining about paying them dipshit

lel

>customers are complaining about having an additional OPTION in the way to pay
?

Valve realized that you couldn't cash out.

I think they will accept something else soon. Dont worry.

>customer pays with bitcoin, takes 6 hours to confirm, $20 transaction fee
>bitcoin price fluctuates $1,000 in 10 minutes
>its not enough money to cover the purchase anymore
>customer needs to send another .0001 BTC to cover the cost, with an additional $20 transaction fee
>customer really angry now
>opens up support ticket on steam
>steam has to expend resources handling these customers
>cant refund the customer without paying a $20 transaction fee

What?

Why does steam force them to pay extra just because the price dipped.

>bitcoin price fluctuates $1,000 in 10 minutes
on average it fluctuates up so why do they care if it goes down on one transaction, do they give back money to the customer if it goes up?

Steam uses BitPay, they dont actually handle any btc. Did you even read the article?

No, people are buying Bitcoin to purely speculate now, not to use.

steam has no reason to shill for a memecoin unlike you since you've invested in it.

i bought games with btc on steam,
its fucking instant using bitpay you fuckin mong.
steam doesnt want to accept anymore because god forbid they GIVE any money back

Digibyte is about to fucking MOON

Pretty sure they will be adopting a different crypto. Information from the devs were posted here discord.gg/eQNqZeC
