You are Captain SAMANTHA WELLINGS, a newly minted captain of the Centauri Accord!

After the whole fiasco that was the attempted (but not wholly unexpected) pirate revolt against Carly. That meant trying to recruit her whole gang was a wash, but hey, at least you had Carly, her ship, and her personal crew. It was certainly something.

Scott and Artya had managed to make some more permanent repairs to the Long Claw while you were clearing out Carly's base. Afterwards, Carly detonated the remaining missiles stored in the ancient facility, collapsing the whole structure and ensuring nobody else could use it. Seemed to fit Carly's tendencies, destroying anything she couldn't use so nobody else could.

Carly, of course, didn't seem all that bothered about it, but you weren't quite sure if that was really the case. Now that you thought about it, you hadn't actually seen a lot of her around the ship, even though you were literally bunking with her. You remember her little breakdown back at the base, and wonder if she was still shaken up about the betrayal.

Tank's head then leans in, wondering if anything's wrong.

>Maybe you should talk to Carly.
>You need to get ready to transfer back to the Gullinbursti.

We just got her back. We can't just leave.

>Maybe you should talk to Carly.

>>Maybe you should talk to Carly.

Well, maybe you should check on Carly before you leave. At least just to make sure that she's okay and everything.

Problem was, you didn't exactly know where to look for her. You weren't familiar with the interior of the Long Claw like you were with Gullinbursti, so you had no idea of all the cool hangout or hiding spots Carly would use.

Well, you could always talk to her crew, right? Well, Anne seemed to know her pretty well. Bolts, being her bodyguard, was guaranteed to never be too far from her, and Artya probably knew this ship better than anybody...

B is still flat.

So how are we going to cheer her up?

Spending a vacation day at a casino station? Showing her Accord weapons? Getting her own power armor?

Playing games like we used to, Hanging out and what not I'd assume.

>Getting her own power armor?

More like getting her fitted into an Accord Uniform.

I forgot we had lewd form fitting uniforms.

Is Sam's slightly too tight because science?

This. She''s clearly holding on to her old memories, and even retains the subconscious desire to sleep with us in the same bed. But making her happy huh... I think that requires finding out just what she really wants.

Still hoping we could get her to work with us in some capacity, and make sure to visit often if we can't work directly together.

Well, if it's too lewd for her, maybe we can allow for some customization when onboard like wearing a long coat on top or casual Fridays.

>casual fridays

Sundresses fridays.

You figure Anne would be a good person to consult. Since she was the ship's navigator, it would be pretty easy to find her. You exit Carly's quarters, Tank hovering close by you like always. After that whole pirate revolt, Tank had adamantly refused to leave your side, obviously concerned about additional foul play among Carly's crew. Now, you were pretty sure his concerns were unfounded, but at this point there was really no way for you to convince him otherwise.

Thankfully, Tank's presence convinces most of the crew to keep a respectful distance. The two of you head over to the bridge, where you find Anne loyally keeping watch on the ship.

By falling asleep.

Though, to be fair, you were in the middle of an FTL jump, so honestly there wasn't much for her or any of the bridge crew to do until the Long Claw reached its destination. Actually, you weren't even sure what time standard was set in place on the Long Claw. Even though there was a universal standard for most ships involved in long distance intergalactic travel, quite a lot of ships still used whatever local system their home planets used. It coule have been a late hour for her compared to you.

Anne continued to snore softly, her short red hair covering her face.

>You should let her sleep. It looks like she needs it.

We could just throw in a bunch of terms at her like: Dental Plan, Healthcare Plan, Paid Vacation

>>Time to wake her up.

>>You should let her sleep. It looks like she needs it.

Last I remember, it was more of a one-size fit all suit similar to that of a plugsuit.

Rolled 1 (1d2)

Welp, it looks like we've ended up with a tie so we'll have to roll a tiebreaker!

1. Sleep
2. Wake up

>>You should let her sleep. It looks like she needs it.

You suppose it was best just to let her get her sleep. You casually inspect the other consoles, and note one that listed a detailed map of the ship, while another console had the ship's intercom on it.

Hmmmm, maybe you could use these...

I'm sure there's a room called "Carly's Secret Crying Spot" somewhere.

>Consult the map.

>>Look for Artya
Has she and whatshisname hate-effed each other yet?

Well, at least Tank gets a nice view of Sam.

>Consult the map.

EVERYBODY is getting a nice view of Sam

Well, it was time to consult the map. You quietly reach over Anne's sleeping form and hit the display key, generating a holographic representation of the Long Claw in the air above you. You narrow your eyes, trying to glean any useful details that you could from it...

>Roll 1d20

You narrow you eyes as you carefully scan the ship's schematics, and you finally catch it. It was a small chamber tucked away on the belly of the ship. Pretty decently sized, and well out of the way of the more populated portions of the ship.

Plus, the room was labeled BAR, so that was already a pretty good indication of the chances of Carly being there.

Tank glances at the map and back at you. He clearly wants to accompany you there. For your safety, of course.

>You can handle this alone.

Armor buddies with Tank? Or armor buds with Carly?

>>You can handle this alone.

Yes.

All of them.

>You can handle this alone.

War stories with Tank when?

How about how Sam met her crew?

Hopefully it involves a previous captain rescuing Sam from a cloning facility and then raising her as his own.

If that's the case, then we need to find who the original is, and how Carly fits in this. If anything, we could be a clone, artificial human, or some orphan picked up by researchers.

We could be the original and the clones are still out there.

>In 21XX, a crack starship crew was sent to prison by a Hegemony court for a crime they probably committed. These soldiers promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to Earth. Today, still wanted by the Hegemony government, they survive as soldiers of Sol Security. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if it's in the vicinity of the Solar System....maybe you can call on... the S-Team.

Sorry about the delay. Post soon!

You try to assure Tank that you can handle this alone. Of course, Tank would have none of it, constantly insisting that he come with you.

"Tank, again, Carly's my sister. She's not gonna hurt me." You smile. "You can wait outside the door, but that's the closest you get. Consider that an order."

Tank visibly droops at the rebuke, but otherwise understands. He backs off a bit as the two of you march down to the bar. You do notice that there's far less people the further you go, and you find yourself having to make turns that seemed obvious on the map, but were pretty well concealed and hidden in practice. Carly had made damn sure that nobody would just chance upon this place by luck.

Finally, you reach an old, slightly rusted door. It didn't appear locked, but you could clearly see a crudely written sign on the front.

CARLY'S PRIVATE SPACE. DO NOT ENTER.

Tank glances at you, wondering what you're going to do.

Well, too late to turn back now...

Time to listen to what she has to say.

>>Knock like a polite person should.

>Knock like a polite person should.

Either way, we really need to find out what Sam's parents are like and who they are.

You decide to knock on the door, like a civilized person. Your knuckles rap against the heavy steel, producing a loud ringing sound.

"GO AWAY!" You Carly's voice, a bit unstable and slurred.

Oh no, she can't be getting sloshed in there, is she?

"Carly, it's me, Sam." You announce. "You wanna talk?"

"Noooooooo." Carly responds lazily.

"I'm coming in anyways." You grunt as you pull the door open.

And there you see Carly, sitting in the dimly lit bar. It was pretty old fashioned, with stools, glass bottles, and everything. Hell, even the bar itself was made of actual goddamn wood, a rare luxury in these times of metals and synthetic composites rendering the organic material obsolete.

"Swas like this when I found iiiit." Carly grumbles as she haphazardly swings a shot glass around in her arms as she downs it. "Didn't tell anybody but my closes mates, of courshe..."

God, her clothes were all disheveled and it seems like she hasn't cleaned herself up ever since you both left her base. She was a total mess.

>You need to get Carly to stop and get cleaned up.
>Might as well indulge her a bit.
