What type of armor do you prefer?
Fantasy or Realistic?
Why?

Realistic in a game that's fairly grounded.

Anything goes in a pulp game.

I rarely if ever describe armor, either as a GM or a player, since it only exists in the minds of each individual player.

I tend to imagine my own characters in semi realistic armor. And same with other characters unless anyone specifies otherwise.

But I prefer to look at bikini armor.

Magic armor is great.

"realistic"

I like armored warrior ladies to wear fairly realistic armor. I had a bit of a crush on Joan of Arc when I was a kid, and something about young women in plate appeals to me. However, I also like lace and long coats and dresses, so many of my lady characters fight unarmored or very lightly armored.

I always go for fantasy.

I mean, it's already not meant to be realistic. So you can have stuff like spellcasters wearing elaborate robes and gravity-defying hairdos into combat because it just counts as clothing anyway - Hell, she can go into a fight wearing leather bondage gear, and it makes no real difference.

This is particularly true in games like Exalted. Anyone who really matters is a superhuman anyway, so there's no reason for the Dragonblooded matriach not to wear a slit-up cheongsam into battle with a giant headdress before she fucks you up with Fire Dragon Style.

A loaded question without context; it really depends on the theme, or how grounded the game is going to be. Or what the GM/Players want.

Personally, I prefer some sort of stylishness - minute or excessive - over realism, because I like putting armor on beast characters.

Believeable, but not neccesarily realistic for fighters
Frazetta naked for Barbs
Stylish and or Slutty for wizards. Wizards dont need realistic anything.
Wizard hats are a requirement tho.

Depends on the setting, if you say anything else then your a pleb desu.

I never like boob plate as it doesnt make me very hard, but unrealistic armour is perfectly fine if it fits the setting and looks aesthetic.
