Female Armor

What type of armor do you prefer?
Fantasy or Realistic?
Why?

Realistic in a game that's fairly grounded.

Anything goes in a pulp game.

I rarely if ever describe armor, either as a GM or a player, since it only exists in the minds of each individual player.

I tend to imagine my own characters in semi realistic armor. And same with other characters unless anyone specifies otherwise.

But I prefer to look at bikini armor.

Magic armor is great.

"realistic"

I like armored warrior ladies to wear fairly realistic armor. I had a bit of a crush on Joan of Arc when I was a kid, and something about young women in plate appeals to me. However, I also like lace and long coats and dresses, so many of my lady characters fight unarmored or very lightly armored.

I always go for fantasy.

I mean, it's already not meant to be realistic. So you can have stuff like spellcasters wearing elaborate robes and gravity-defying hairdos into combat because it just counts as clothing anyway - Hell, she can go into a fight wearing leather bondage gear, and it makes no real difference.

This is particularly true in games like Exalted. Anyone who really matters is a superhuman anyway, so there's no reason for the Dragonblooded matriach not to wear a slit-up cheongsam into battle with a giant headdress before she fucks you up with Fire Dragon Style.

>What type of armor do you prefer?

A loaded question without context; it really depends on the theme, or how grounded the game is going to be. Or what the GM/Players want.

Personally, I prefer some sort of stylishness - minute or excessive - over realism, because I like putting armor on beast characters.

Believeable, but not neccesarily realistic for fighters
Frazetta naked for Barbs
Stylish and or Slutty for wizards. Wizards dont need realistic anything.
Wizard hats are a requirement tho.

Depends on the setting, if you say anything else then your a pleb desu.

I never like boob plate as it doesnt make me very hard, but unrealistic armour is perfectly fine if it fits the setting and looks aesthetic.

I like it to match whatever the male armors are in the setting.

HUGE

(I dunno why I dislike skimpy shit so much but i REALLY dislike it)

I made a poll to reduce shit-flinging a bit, hopefully

Give me fantasy over realism any day, unless the setting is especially gritty or something. I'm fine with unrealistic armor as long as it doesn't clash with the style of the game.

Realistic.

It's pretty hot.

I generally don't care much for realism I just ask you don't look retarded.

pic fucking related

What's the purpose of that one spike on the armor?
Are those armored dreadlocks?
What possible reason is there for a huge pear shaped ass skirt armor?

This

>no all of the above
I am saddened.

I'm more for a combo in whatever the universe is, you never know when you'll come across an enchanted bikini.

These plates look weird. Were they designed to protect from landmines or halflings?

If you think about it, halflings are basically land mines.

watch out for them halfies man. They'll stop your junk faster than a hello

People on foot. Capathrat armor was made for use on horseback.

Would still wiener her

BIG MEATY PAULDRONS

Reminder that panda girl is taller than male humans in warcraft which are about 6ft

So she just has a really big head

I do like fantastic elements.

They're about six and a half feet.

If the game was realistic, women wouldn't be in armour. So go bananas with the fantasy.

Posing. That is the purpose. These are armors from the game Monster Hunter, in which you usually craft your armor from the giant beasts you slay. That means these armors have a second use, as giant trophies which you wear all the time.

do you even pauldrons

Unrealistic. Aesthetics trumps practicality any time in a fantasy game.

That and I absolutely detest arms and armor spergs.

It's hard to find good art on females with the giant WoW pauldrons.

I like the armor in any game to all fit into the same general theme. What I mean is that whatever the aesthetic is, be it realistic, pulpy, high fantasy, or straight-up pornographic, I want both the women's and men's armor to fit that tone. It breaks my immersion if there's too much of a mismatch.

i would just use peicemeal rules for the lady on the left.

problem solved.

Realism can go too far.

Depends on the setting.
Like every question

Armor that matches the aesthetics from the rest of the setting it's from.

How dose your personal preference vary by setting?

>"Do you like coffee?"

>"Depends on the setting"

>filthy mug
>tepid water
>mouldy beans

>hey Veeky Forums do you like tanks or mecha?

Realistic and i don't give a shit because unless my art friend is playing then neither me or any of the players are gonna see shit.

>How dose your personal preference vary by setting?

How do you not?

>Is this a serious setting
>Is it magic heavy or not
>Does it make sense for the characters to dress this way in this world

If Im running a low fantasy drama Im not gonna want the women bouncing around but if it's just a silly more lighthearted anime esque adventure Id be far more amenable

Ideally I like to keep a decent compromise between realistic and not but Im will to accommodate as far as the setting allows

I'm not picky, I like both

Realistic, albeit stylish.
As in, no boobplates, and nothing that makes you look overtly like a man either.
Most armors other than plate are relatively form-fitting anyways, and when I do run into females with plate, I describe them as only wearing the Plackart of the breastplate, as for anything above would not quite... fit, as for they could not buckle the side straps.
I find the breasts hanging out over the Plackart an... appealing sight, anyways, so hehehe...
So I just knock -1 armor off (since the Plackart itself already protects most of your vital parts) and have them wear gambeson with chain over their chest rather than the breastplate.

>trolls his 8 foot
what the fuck

>anime esque adventure
I'm sorry i wasn't aware that SHIT was a theme.

Both.

Why? Because it's theater of the mind; what right do I have, or does another player/GM have, to tell me how things look to them beyond descriptions. This is why I describe only things I have created as GM, and don't typically describe my characters beyond cursory physical details. It just doesn't matter.

I don't like coffee at all so all my character are naked at all times.

>Kirin armor
That MOTHERFUCKER was such a pain in the ass to farm.

I also don't see some other seta like hypno or narga. Any reason why?

The average pair of breasts are not that big you stinkin' neckbeard.

...

Fantasy materials sure, but f it's not covered it's not protected.

Man, still one of the best games, both on gameplay, concept art, music and general feel.

Realistic armor is more sexy coming off.

Pick one

Fight, fuck or team up?

Hey, the horse is the same in all three panels!

That's because it's cropped, if ti was full the last one'd have mare-tit crotchboobs hanging out.

Goddamn druids.

I prefer armor to be sexy, but I hate it when the guys get fullplate and the girls get booby armor.

Either her breasts get bigger in the last panel, or that's just fucking painful.

>left : Porn
>right: Crossdressing

Neither is acceptable.

Her brother was hilarious.

>machine brewed coffee

Depends if setting is fairy grounded and realistic I prefer girls having same armor as guys.
But if setting is not that or at least least have some more retarded armors for both genders (not nececery guys having same revealing/sexy armors) I'm fine with sexy fem armor.

In general I prefer more practical looking armor, though I can accept certain frills and decorations (like the infamous battle skirt).

I can accept more exposing, borderline fetish armor... if the setting is consistent. Having men wear gritty, practical armor while women hop around in bikini and thongs is retarded. A lot of anime settings do this right, giving their male characters equally stupid characters to their female characters. Or what about the browser game Wartune, where the Male Fighter dresses like a manwhore? Just look at him! Fucking look at him!

>not including the "wooooomb" one
you have failed young one

Hey user, can't a boy dream?
Who says I'm not playing with anime-styled art?

>Who says I'm not playing with anime-styled art?
my hope that Veeky Forums has a good taste

Pseudo realistic.

>there's no reason for the Dragonblooded matriach not to wear a slit-up cheongsam into battle with a giant headdress before she fucks you up with Fire Dragon Style

Fire Dragon is compatible with armour bro.

...

Well, don't worry, I'm not.
We just have this one person who always plays the same character.
Big-tittied, big-ego'ed, big-jingo redhead with green eyes.
I may or may not have written multiple fanfics about this character.

>he doesn't know the rest of this imageset is her taking the armour off and posing naked

Yes, because history is littered with all the armies solely composed of women covered in full armour.

Fantasy, realistic actually feels unrealistic to me when you're tanking enough damage to instagib a commoner

I didn't know anachronism was realistic.

Never said that you dumb fuck. There were women that were in battles in the past, rare yes but it did happen

The user you're replying to is either a retard, or trolling. There's no way to win here.

Both fantasy and realistic are ok as long s they look liek armor i.e. it looks liek this armor is able to protect you, and not just look like some edgy teenage metalhead slut attire.

If you're going to do realism, do it right or you may as well just do pseudorealism.
whY THE EVERLOVING FUCK DOES SHE HAVE A NORSE ROUNDSHIELD AND A NORSE SWORD COMBINED WITH A GREATHELM AND A LAMELLAR COAT WITH WHAT I CAN ONLY SEE TO BE FUCKING PLATE LEGGINGS.

Rare enough that you can name nearly every single one.

Yeah, the truth often sounds retarded to idiots.

>he knew, and posted it anyway hoping people would reverse image search

...

Ignore the troll, he's just trying to derail the thread

>They still draw the sign of the cross left to right
Wot? Orthocucks do it the other way around?

Or maybe he is not saying the truth he is just saying retarded shit because he is retarded like you

Nomad heritage. Excavation of jewish khazar khan burial mounds shown some realy murder-hobo style of equipment. One example had axe of norse nobleman, european silver-plated belt, byzantine face-helmet and eastern lamellar armor.

I tend to run games where the heroes are just better than realistic to be considered superpowered, but not so much that they can't still be stabbed to death by an angry mob. With that in mind, realistic with fantasy elements - like what you might see in a big painting or something.

I also like the idea that a character might have a suit of showy "court armor" with a boob window and lots of flowing bits, and a more practical set that they wear in the field. Looking sexy can be an advantage in a lot of situations.

pt 2.
aND WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD DOES SHE HAVE HEELS ON HER MEDIEVAL BOOTS, NOT TO MENTION THE GAMBESON LOOKS SHODDY AND HER PANTS AREN'T EVEN PADDED, LET ALONE QUILTED. AND THE WAY SHE TREATS HER EQUIPMENT! DISGUSTING! shE LayS it aLL OvER THE GROUND.

> arguing about lewd female armour
> nobody ever mentions lewd male armour

I mentioned it right here

Oh?
These were all found together?
That's slightly more intriguing and... minutely less frustrating.
Do you have a link on hand?

still doesnt excuse the heeled boots.

How is this sword called, if it even exists IRL? Looks very fun to wave around.

Sources are in russian (because all those excavations happen on russian territory)
Far-eastern part of europe and neigboring steppes are all full of such stuff. There were nearly not enough sources of workable iron, so not enough metal to equip all warriors, but abudance of furs, wax and honey, also trade routes to asia to provide spices and silk. Both for rus and nomad states.
So enough money to puchase foregin equipment. And enough foreginers to raid for it.
Novgorodians for example even in 15th century armed their men in some eclectic mix of iranian-style and european knight armor.

> I also like the idea that a character might have a suit of showy "court armor" with a boob window and lots of flowing bits, and a more practical set that they wear in the field.
Congratulations, you've just invented the idea of ceremonial armour.

That's a Roman gladius isn't it?

>A NORSE SWORD

I understand if you don't want to give that thing more than the briefest glance, but come on!
