Ethereum has attracted the smart money. Bitcoin has attracted the retards out of FOMO who are hoping for 10x yearly gains. It's clear which will survive long term.

The reason it didn't halve overnight is because Ethereum investors knew this was an issue and that scaling solutions need to be implemented to prepare Ethereum for the future. We also know that about 5 such solutions are being worked on, some are very close to implementation and some aren't as far along.

When Plasma, PoS, Sharding, Raiden, Generalized state channels, truebit etc. are all implemented, Ethereum will be the finest blockchain in existence.

i completely agree with you, but i think after bitcoin bubble pops normies will jump onto ethereum, even something useful can become overvalued and end up in a bubble, that's when you want to get your gains out and then rebuy. all that said right now it's very cheap.

I think Monero is a great choice. I've been thinking for months about putting a sizable chunk of my portfolio into it. Monero is what normies think bitcoin is. Bitcoin can be killed by regulation, Monero on the other hand is immune.

To be honest, you'd have to be stupid to be in crypto long term and not hold Monero (or at least seriously consider it like me).

I work as a pseudo-consultant for start ups looking to launch an ICO, and there's a huge amount of businesses started (in a VERY wide variety of fields) which are utilising Ethereum.

The amount of money going into building things to use Ethereum is immense, and isn't widely covered. Most of these businesses have roadmaps looking to begin Q2 2018-Q2 2019.

That twinned with Casper (which also begins reducing supply of eth with every transaction) WILL mean that eth will surge.

I'm honestly expecting Eth to hit $1k within the next 3 months.
