Looking for a Pathfinder campaign where we can submit a dual-application, we're Path of War friendly and generally open to anything and everything the DM might throw our way (we've got a preference for sandbox and more high-powered campaigns, though!)

The hell is going on with gamefinders dying lately.

nobody uses them, everyone keeps posting bait threads, etc etc etc

Any Superhero or Rifts or Pathfinder/3.5 games goin on?

Most people just contact the poster through the contact info. The biggest problem with gamefinders is that only the bad responses are in the thread while the good ones aren't seen.

Very serious mood but not overly grimdark. Saving Private Ryan would be a pretty
appropriate tone comparison. This is not a game for joke characters, endless
attempts at witty quips or "I roll to suplex the Ork XD". Organic jokes squadmates
would make are encouraged for appropriate characters though. Everyone is going to have 5 characters, one in each squad of a platoon. We'll rotate through these squads as they fight in a deadly urban engagement similiar to
the Battle of Stalingrad or play more than a single squad in exceptional circumstances. As the platoon takes loses the squads will get consolidated together until there's only one squad left fighting. Very combat heavy game but looking for players that can role play in combat (take actions as their character
would, form friendships and rivalries within the squad, not metagame, etc.)

The characters you as the final player will have: 1 command squad character (whatever you want), a Weapon Specialist, an Operator, a Sergeant and a Medic.

If that didn't scare you away, here's a document with the specifics:

No.

Why do so many crazy people want to roleplay?
They seem to be disproportionately represented.

I've got a horror game set in Tolfino, British Columbia, during the 1993 Clayoquot protest. I like to run games that go heavy on the roleplaying and mystery side of things so if you're a fan of combat heavy games this won't be for you. But, if you do like those things, and you want to play as a bunch of schmucks in the 90s getting caught up in shit they never planned for, then feel free to email me.

Overactive imagination. Roleplaying games serve as an outlet, I'd probably be a mass murderer if I didn't have a creative hobby like this.

Page ten save.

You should play Olympic Ping-pong with skills like that.

This guy is a huge douchenuzzle just FYI.

I've seen a bunch of posts like this and I'm never sure what to make of them, at least posting some evidence would be nice.

Most of the Exalted community are huge egotistical douchebags because they think they're entitled to do what they wish when they play Solars.

This guy is the case that proves the rule. Also does it out of character too. Go around insulting people and just generally being a dick.

Not anyone involved in this but uh
I've always been mildly bothered by this whole 'let's socially shame the person I don't get along with!' concept.
Shouldn't we be better than this? It just seems so childish.

Also not involved, here's my perspective:
It's what they do on other forums where people post with names or ID. Here, we're generally free from it because we're anons, but in these threads posting contact details is unfortunately necessary, and most people can't be bothered to create a throwaway email for every post in a game finder. So, a ton of circlejerking faggots come out of the woodwork and proceed to act like cunts and try and use these threads as their personal army or turn them against somebody they don't like.

I'm just annoyed by it, I guess, because I've had people be cunts to the tune of posting my info up back when I used Skype, using edited chat logs and basically trying to give me a bad reputation so I couldn't use these threads properly.
It was pointless and childish, and all because I asked to play a character concept he didn't like and was being autism about it. He could've just said "no" but decided to have a fit about it and try and make me persona non grata for gamefinder threads.

People really should just stop.

Welcome to socialising online. Everyone is spending all their time slandering each other because they don't like each other. Faked twitter conversations, "exposed" vids on YouTube, it happens everywhere. They say everyone on the internet's a man, but we all act like gossipy bitching girls.

Yeah I'm annoyed at is as well, which is why I'd prefer people post evidence of their 'this guy's a massive dweebenheimer' posts instead of just being kind of dicks about it. No doubt some people who're on this board are huge assbutts, but you gotta realize when you just don't plain get along with someone from when they're assholes.
Maybe that's just me being naive though, I don't know.

I'm looking for groups that are heavy on the RP. I've tried hack and slash games and I didn't enjoy mindless killing.

Are you the guy who got his backstory google doc posted in the gamefinder during that one shitstorm?

That entire incident was hilarious, you and the other guy were both top tier autismos. I'm glad you're still lurking here, you should post some more cringe for us again.

I'm sorry that I denied you? I interview players, and sometimes, I tell players that I don't like their concepts. They get mad, and rage.

but I know who you are, and literally no one deserves want you did to my game. Everyone in the entire group tried to help you, and you got so mad about the mechanics of the system, that you refused to interact with me, the GM, and eventually got so upset after 3 other people tried to help you, before you pissed them off too, and left. I didn't insult you, nor was I an asshole at any point before that. You literally only ever interacted with me in-game. You were just totally unreasonable, by the definition of every other player in the game.

This is literally the only time I've posted in Gamefinder, and lo and behold, you come out of the woodwork to shit on me. Grow up. You're the only person who has -ever- had this complaint, and it's because you were a god awful player.

We can all agree on one thing though: Colette is a blight who deserves no games, right?

I'm sorry, you w0t? I'm a player in the other game the GM mentioned, literally none of what you said is true. I think you might have him confused with someone else, that or you're a troll that decided to throw shit in a random direction.

yes

Perhaps I have the wrong person, reading back.

I don't play Solars in Exalted. Ever. I've applied to exactly two games in 3e. One the GM never spoke to me. The other wanted something so far from Exalted that our tastes didn't mesh, and I never insulted either of those people.

Sooo... either you're disgruntled because I denied you, or you were from my chat, and you were just banned for being a manchild. Either way.

It wasn't anything so crazy, I was just annoyed that he posted my Skype name without permission and was being a twat.

Late night bump

Well, my current game isn't pulling any interest.

Anyone up for a game of Diaspora?

user.

Elaborate.

1d4chan actually has a pretty good write up of the system:

1d4chan.org/wiki/Diaspora

So it's a FATE hack with as many as four systems bolted on so it can attempt to do the things FATE is the worst at.

Do people actually get game from these thread?
I'm abandoning Pathflounder for 5e and I would love to play more games...

You could try Reddit. Lots of 5e game there.

Rarely. I got a group from here two years back and haven't had to look for players ever since. I still dip from time to time when I want to run something niche or during non-standard hours, but I haven't been lacking in games.

You do, when your game comes along, and when you're quick about responding. If it's been more than two hours, any open slots are probably already filled.

Porn artist doing research on tabletop games for a web comic. I'm a total beginner at this, but I've read through some basic rules for D&D 5e. Only contact if you're willing to help out a newb.

You're not that guy who posted in the AdEva thread a week or two ago about how bummed he felt he'd never get to run AdEva, are you?

...can you elaborate on why you're researching this?

>Flake GMs

Depends

No, I'm the one who posted the AdEva thread itself. Got some good advice out of it and things are look bright.

For a web comic he said, duh?

I'm considering making an erotic/comedic web comic about a group of friends that play D&D. I want to place an emphasis on good writing so that it has real appeal beyond being a masturbatory aid. In order to do that, I need to actually play the damn game a few times. So, that's why I'm here. Sufficient explanation?

But why do you feel the need to disclose this?

You'll be better served just watching games broadcasted by professional entertainers.
An actual live game, much less an online game on /t/g, doesn't have any of the qualitites you're looking for.

Why not?

Good point. I guess I just wanted the hands on experience. It always seemed fun, and like I said earlier, the comic is more of an excuse to try it out than anything else.

Is your work, you know... any good?

It just seems attention whorish and distasteful. And since you mentioned it you'll probably ward off any decent GM and draw in ERP anime types, which is very much not the average RPG campaign.

Eh, I'd rather not derail the thread more than I already have.

Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to be an attention whore.

It is fun, but it doesn't translate well, for the same reasons that literary dialogue doesn't resemble actual conversation much.

Just a SFW example dude.
