Hi wh40kg!

For the Greater Good!

Lego 40k when?

Ordered this Macharius off of ebay because I love his fluff and the look of him, any chance I can get rules to use him on the tabletop or is he going to be an Only War model forever?

I may be having a moment, but I'm not seeing a link Codex: Deathwatch in the sticky. Does anyone have a link?

How do I convert Battle Scribe files to images?

How likely is it that we'll never see a gene stealer cult codex released?

1d4chan.org/wiki/Lord_Solar_Macharius

His last incarnation was in 3rd edition, his main bonus is being able to opt for first turn rather than dicing for it. Otherwise a more survivable Guard senior officer.

What do we think?
Only change is that we can't have a Multi-Phase-Key-Generator on the Ghostwalkers so I bought Haywire as they have the same points and just clarify that with mates
Going to be in a doubles apoc game with Chaos on my side agianst Marines and either Admeck or more Marines
Thanks!

What would be the best way to kill Harlequins with the Deathwatch force? Gunline?

FUCK THE FUCKING DEATHWTACH

LOYALIST KEKS GET FUCKING MELTA-POWERFISTS, UNLIMITED STORMSHIELDS AND CYCLONE MISSILES EVERYWHERE, S10 THUNDER HAMMERS AND FUCKING ASSAULT 2 LASCANNONS

AND WE DONT EVEN GET A FUCKING DROP POD

FUCK GW

Of course we will.

Tyranids have nothing but the Biovore left to convert into plastic.

The Tyranid release will almost certainly be just new biovores, a book, with a decurion and some formations. Maybe a plastic garg creature because why not GW loves massive kits

At some point before or after this GW will shit out some lazy little stealer book, recycle all the same models, and pretty much just make GSC units that are very similar to the existing ones, but obviously upgradable and non-unique.

Both the space marines player and myself CSM in my group are going to use the DW codex as it represents better our armies (both choose an army of veterans of the legions of old, me due to eye of terror and him due to warp travel)

If we gave you drop pods the sun would explode.

I'm making a small force of space marines, from the Deep Ones chapter.

What kind of Chapter Tactics should I use for them? Ravenguard? Raptors?

I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW IM EXPECTED TO FIGHT AGAINST DEATHWATCH BULLSHIT

>OH YEAH HERES MY COOL NEW 2K DW LIST, ITS JUST LIKE 9 DROP PODS AND 30+ ASSAULT 2 LASCANNONS
>OH AND EVERYBODY HAS AP3 SPECIALIST AMMO, GET FUKT

WHAT THE FUCK

Here it is, folks! This is where you first saw it - remember.
A new age of power creep has dawned. The spess marines, they are a-changin'! Next codex when?
fuk you capcha

>Planning on buying some Dark Eldar
>See an old battle force
>$115
>$1 more than current Starter + Wyches

Why do people do this?

Hey they gave Deathwatch the Blood Angels' Frag Cannons, only better and for infantry.

Frag Cannon BA Devastators would be fucking awesome.

Oh well.

>This is where you first saw it

This is where YOU first saw it turbo-newfag.

People proxy power armor codexes all the time, always have done, you moron.

All three CSM players at my shop proxy their chaos models as some form of Codex Space Marine.

Blood Angels too.

>SM players are such WAACfags that they are proxying their already top tier codex marines as fucking deathwatch
will loyalist cucks ever recover?

Why is it ok for csm and not for sm to use the fucking same codex? I ask this as a csm player. If you want to field an army of a few tatciool veterans / chosen, there is no list as DW out there.

sm already have fucking 1st company task force

using csm as DW is stupid as fuck too, since CSM dont have drop pods/specialist ammo/stormshields/OP new heavy weapons etc etc

How effective would a First Company Task Force inside a Medusa Strike Force be? I was thinking large Units of Sterngaurd accompanied by a techmarine each to allow that 5+ Feel No Pain and the occasional 2+ armour save and a high cover save with Fortifying. The criticism leveled against the unit for being too squishy to actually use their ammunition at distance might be remedied and it is an unusual threat.

Gonna be fighting against 1.5K of Black Templars. against my Tau.

I'm facing small plas/missile crusader squads in HB razorbacks, an assault squad, BIG crusader squad with a captain in a LR Crusader, normal dread and ironclad and a Predator.

I'm bringing Strike teams with Fireblade, Stealthsuits, a single Ghostkeel (not using formation), Pathfinders with rail rifles with Darkstrider and a Commander/Shadowsun/6 marker drone unit with fusion blasters for tank hunting.

Most will be outflanking. What are my odds? I'm scared as shit of that Land Raider, so it's going bust ASAP.

Also a single remora drone, forgot about that.

Hey Veeky Forums, user from last thread here, the one that posted this list: .
I'm back with an updated one. Took last thread's advice and plopped the Meltagunner with the Command Squad in the Chimera for better mobility, gave the footslogging Veterans Grenade Launchers, and split the Sentinel Squadron into three separate squadrons for this new list:

+++ 5th Tendrakk Rifle Corps (498pts) +++

++ Astra Militarum: Codex (2014) (Combined Arms Detachment) ++

+ No Force Org Slot +

Primaris Psyker [Force Staff, Psyker Mastery Level 1]

Any pointers? The idea is to scout the sentinels into positions where they can pop open a transport or two in the first round with the autocannons. The vet squads will grab the closest objectives, and the psyker is there to make them better at their job via Divination.

Not talkin' proxy, faggot - talkin' about how geedubs will now revise all future codices to port DW stylings to the rest of the spess marines.
Reading with comprehension is hard for babby, I know...
Get back to school, now kid: summer's nearly done.

dumb frogposter

Grenade launcher is the worst special weapon.

2 questions, please.

If an IC joins another IC to form a unit, can they both aim at different targets?

If this unit join a normal squad of dudes, can they shoot at different targets too? Say a squad of marines with a chaplain and a captain. Can all 3 entities target different things?

No, to both questions.

Deathwatch is the best of the best from every chapter, why shouldn't they be OP?

Only characters with Split Fire can shoot at different targets than their unit.

FUCK THE HORUS HERESY

FUCK GW

I hope Disney or somebody else ends up buying out Games Workshops, retcons every single fucking book and audio drama of this dogshit series, burns it, and fires every single person who ever wrote a story in the series (I don't give a damn if that's everybody). I've fucking had it with all these M. Night Shyamalan plot twists and 'surprises' absolutely fucking nobody wanted. Fuck the HH, it needs to not only end, but die and have everything related to it retconned and thrown out the window into the trash heap.

Thank you Imperial Citizen

because they are shitters who only exist to kill shitty orks and shitty nids, why should they be OP?

FYI, Praetorian of Dorn spoilers

Alpharius is dead. No this isn't "maybe he's dead maybe he isn't, Alpharius is dead for 100% certain with zero question about it, Rogal Dorn killed him. Everything after this point has in fact been Omegon pretending to be Alpharius

I see. Split fire or if the character itself states it can shoot at two different targets then. Thank you.

How exactly does a heretical Primarch convince his chapter to go renegade with him? Is this ever explained in detail in the lore?

checked

and girlyman killed omeganon

alphamemes btfo

>and girlyman killed omeganon

Eskrador never happened.

>How exactly does a heretical Primarch convince his chapter to go renegade with him?
Asking nicely?

geee alpharius, how come you get to have 2 dead dads?

Well the rest of the legion gets corrupted by whatever corrupted the Primarch, and then the traitors kill whoever won't join them when they actually turn.

For later eras, it's probably the same thing. The Chapter Master gradually becomes corrupted, his immediate subordinates are corrupted by the same thing, and gradually the corruption and heresy spreads until there are enough traitors on their side to make a move.

Or something traumatic happens and all the space marines are like "fuck this, I'm joining the guys who let me do drugs and fuck my way across the galaxy."

Play using 30k legions you dumb frog poster.

you do realize that 30k legions suck balls in 40k, right?

I need to figure out a way to drop 13 points.
Also fun silly list that could work in theory. Against Orks is going to be funny.

No, remember that ALSO got retconned because it was actually Fulgrim who fought Guilliman and mortally wounded him.

>Primarch
>Chapter

what the fuck am I reading? Are you asking about the original Legions, or individual renegade Chapters?

In the latter case they usually all get fucked over by the same thing. See: The Scourged, Crimson Slaughter

I do indeed, but they still allow you to use all of those fancy models that the loyalists get.

30k legions can compete with mid tier 40k just fine.

Maybe drop the combi-flamers from the battle sisters? Those are nice but not amazing or anything.

>mid tier 40k
what, like fucking orks and CSM?

yeah wow, what an improvement

I'm gonna be honest, I get a lot of those words confused half the time

anyone get the new deathwatch book yet? trying to figure out what the point costs are for some stuff

...

you are the fucking man, user. ty

No worries m8.

The Legions were all corrupted in different ways, there was no single pattern, although the Warrior Lodges were a common theme in most of them. For example, the ARGHHHHHHHHH Marines were corrupted when they put the "Nails" (aggression-increasing things) in their heads.. if I recall correctly it was supposed to be a show of solidarity with Angron, who had them implanted when he was a slave gladiator, but maybe he ordered them to. Anyway just read Lexicanum for those. None of them were 100% successful as I remember it, most legions had at least a few loyalists (most got blasted in the face by their compatriots when they realized they wouldn't turn, or sent to their deaths somehow, whatever).

In the case of Chapters it really depends on how they turn. For a few examples:
Astral Claws - They all felt they were rightfully defending their turf from fuckhead Imperials who never even helped them anyway and wanted tithes for doing nothing. Plus Mr. Huron had arranged everything so the PDF and SM were interlinked and loyal to him.

Crimson Slaughter - They all got a nasty case of Daemon-induced voices shouting "kill them all Johnny!" which could only be stopped by killing people. So they ran away to the warp to embark on a crusade of redemption, and most of them were corrupted by the warp + their impending insanity. Even then I'm pretty sure a group of them fucked off because they didn't want to become CSM.

Fun bit from the fluff section of the book:

> Watch Captain Tidaeus, Formerly of the Ultramarines

You're welcome! Got it off here sometime last week, so the thanks goes to whoever took the pictures and uploaded it.

Hopefully we'll get a full scan sometime soon.

thanks lad

now i can proxy all my dogshit csm as assault 2 lascannon marines with free teleports

I like this.
Sometimes Heroes/Demigods die when they are killed, no need for an epic last stands, epic sieges with trillions of guardsmen fighting on both sides, epic final confrontation or 'It was just a ruse all all along / Complex Keikakus', just plain 'You're dead'.

>moar muhreens
>no updated termies, bikes, rhino chassis vehicles
>"model company"

How do they confirm that it's Alpharius and not someone pretending to be him? Like, what's the indication?

hopefully, but this is amazing to start with. I wanna make some wonky all flyer list with nothing but marines and the giant flying pancake thing.

Dorn feels it when he kills his brother

the landraider kit is 15 years old

To paraphrase:
Omegon: Ah Fuck! He's dead!

Any of you Ravenwing Faggots want to try and defend your army's relentless AP2 spam?
I took my Imperial Guard against Ravenwing tonight at 1500 and although he deployed first, every single thing had scout which ruined me.
Then his 2+ Jink units don't get a penalty for jinking because they got an extra 12" movement.
I couldn't even leave my corner of the board and his MultiMeltas were within range on his first turn.
Obviously I need a ton more ignore cover to deal with this shit but how am I supposed to deal with 24-36" of movement?
Also Hit and Run with 4D6 or whatever it is with that banner is overpowered as hell.

Like most SoB models

most CSM models too

Man am I pissed that possessed look like shit.
I read the Word Bearer's Omnibus before I started playing so obviously I went CSM but I couldn't even bring myself to buy those ugly models.
Now I play Nurgle CSM/Daemons and am fairly happy but still fluff wise possessed seemed awesome.

...

Bring 3 Deathstrikes and fire them on the first turn

No cover
No escape

You sound pretty triggered.

If it was a pick up game then I can understand the frustration if he brought multiple Black Knights/Darkshrouds at 1500.

If you knew you were going to face RW though you should have brought some flamers and artillery as well as any other ignore cover you can get your hands on.

I can't remember but I think the Command Squad troop dudes have an ignore cover order and their is at least one piece of artillery that ignores cover too.

Always make sure you are spreading your armor out. I bring 2 Multimelta attack bikes with a Double Multimelta Landspeeder at 1500 and it will deploy as close to the armor as I can and try to race and pop it. If it fails they are blown away, if they succeed and another piece of armor is nearby it is just dominoes. They should obviously be your first target if you are playing armor.

>Man am I pissed that possessed look like shit.
Fuck you no they don't. Current possessed are awesome, I can actually make the Thing out of them.

Have you tried not playing a shitty army?

>Fuck you no they don't.
Guess we have different tastes.

>The whole army not heading for the mountains.
As an Ork player, I'm confused.

Deathstrikes can't fire on the first turn and have to roll to see if they can fire past that.

This post saddened me deeply every time I saw it. Like, Ork-bro was rocking a 1 - 47 win loss ratio for a long time.. But then a beacon of hope rained down upon Veeky Forums, and its name was Space 0din. Suddenly orks were able to actually go and fight space marines on even terms, and were still fun! Trucks fucking gunned in random directions and exploded gloriously whenever destroyed, and nobz made hardened veterans shit themselves with fear whenever they got within melee range.

There's a Wraithknight, a Riptide, and an Imperial Knight all in the FLGS. The morkanaut would get on the tables and then be removed on turn 1 because it's that bad.

the rest of the army was already dead

>You sound pretty triggered.
Yeah he didn't even attempt to play the mission, he just ran into me and scored easy objective kills. I am still pretty new so 1500 is basically my whole collectiong.

>Have you tried not playing a shitty army?
Have you tried being loyal to the emperor?

I don't like them either but if you change the heads, you fix a good 70% of their look.

Al'Kaps, I think you're suppose to have daemon allies because Chaos Space Marines are dependent on Chaos to do anything harder than mug a guardsman in a dark alley.

>not liking 80's and 90's pulpy demonic marines

A-At least we have Space 0din's codex.
>Tfw the only way I can contend with any of the things in that image with the regular codex is spending the massive point sink on a Stompa.

>Have you tried being loyal to the emperor?
Of course, that's why I play the Dark Angels. Per canon the only Primarch that told Chaos to eat a bag of dicks.

Would two Start Collecting! Daemons of Khornes and two packs of Chaos Bikers be a good enough start to playing Khorne Daemonkin?

He is my preferred god and I hear they are in a better place than CSM.

could a raptors ironclad dread fire it's hurricane bolter as a heavy 3 tl rending weapon? since it fires as 3 bolt guns?

Is that the Codex the user was working on forever? I took a break after the only thing I could see was Wyverns.

Did he finally finish it

Is that why they slaughter Guardsman by the platoon-full just for hearing about how heretical you shitsters were during the Heresey?

Downgrade the Heavy Flamers on the battle sisters to vanilla Flamers, and lose the Dozer on the Repentia Rhino.
Simples.

>Did he finally finish it
He is always working on it, it seems.

I don't even play Orks but our player got a hold of it and he is having much more fun and is an actual threat when he fields stuff I used to shrug at.

Only got to play him twice myself but he has been using it for few months now to great success.

Yes. He finished it, and updates it every once in awhile when need arises.
1d4chan.org/wiki/Codex_Orks:_Space_Odin_Edition

That's Asmodai or the Inquisition when guardsmen don't pass the Inquisitor's test for worthiness to live.

Not that user, but lets be honest here. Who HASN'T slaughtered a platoon of guardsmen by now.

>Who HASN'T slaughtered a platoon of guardsmen by now.
That platoon of said guardsmen?
