You nod, seemingly in answer to Goku's question, but really as a method of signaling Tao.
"She shouldn't have brought you back," Goku tells you. "I didn't want to have to kill you a second time."
"Then why did you do it the first time?" you demand, both as a distraction and due to your genuine desire to know. "And why are you hurting our friends."
Goku chuckles, giving a nonchalant shrug. "Morgan made me do it. I don't have control anymore."
You frown, wishing you'd killed that woman when you had the chance. No wonder she was acting so friendly and helpful; it was all to make you lower your guard so that she could drug Goku, or something along those lines.
Before you can question Goku further, and before Goku can say anything more, you hear Tao shout from the ground below.
"SUPER DODON RAY!"
Looking down, you see a huge, yellow wave of light shoot from Tao's arm, rushing up toward Goku, who looks down in surprise, bringing his arms up to protect himself from the attack.
It's a direct hit, and the shockwaves of the impact push both you and Krillin back a few feet.
Goku's obscured by smoke, but by now you've learned to sense for his energy before reaching any conclusions.
He's alive in there, but his energy is dropping. Tao's attack has taken its toll on your friend, and as the smoke clears, you can see that many parts of his body have been scorched rather badly.
Below you, Tao yells in frustration, having probably assumed the attack would be enough to kill Goku.
"Nice try," Goku tells Tao, lowering his arms and looking down. "It might have worked if I hadn't seen it coming at the last second."
