You lads read Goblin Slayer at all?

You lads read Goblin Slayer at all?

It's basically "Tucker's Kobolds : Goblin Edition - The Manga". Low level adventurers get fucking murderaped by goblins and only one edgelord is obsessed enough to dedicate his life to goblin genocide.

He only takes goblin quests and spends all his time plotting to wipe out goblins.

It's pretty fucking great.

It's garbage with generic art production that lacks any sense of style or originality. The plot is stolen from western media, the presentation is meme centric, and production quality is low.

Enjoy your fap-bait/fantasy-2000-AD dogshit.

Chapter 4 out yet?

Otherwise, I prefer Jitsu was Watashi Was for my light-hearted World of Darkness comedy.

I'm so sorry you hate fun, user.

It isn't fun user. It has an amusing gimmick but the writing and art are piss poor. It is a lie with an intriguing tag line.

It's pretty edgy and tryhard bullshit with a vapid as fuck female protagonist who probably (I only say probably since I've only read the first two issues) only exists to be the target of sexual assaults in a creepy attempt at cheesecake.

So it's like reverse Dungeon M-whatever.

It's like some 14 year old read DM, got mad at how lighthearted it was and wrote their own shitty story but didn't know how to play blackjack and couldn't get any hookers other than the 80 year old suck for a buck lady.

>The plot is stolen from western media

No shit, the adventurers sheet the guild has people sign out is actually a 5e character sheet.

>Dungeon M

Reverse Dungeon Meshi is Berserk.

This is just kind of garbage that throws a lot of rape and murder in as soon as it can to get your dicks hard and trick you into thinking there's something deeper happening.

But you're just jerking it to rape/murder porn.

>mfw said female protagonist rapes goblin slayer later on. It's part of a ritual to heal him, though.

So, she really is just there to be jackin' material.

No shit. Welcome to modern manga.

I like it.
Veeky Forums is full of faggots is all. If something has the slightest hint of edge, it's automatically horseshit to them.
Edge can be fun and enjoyable, faggots. I mean, the dude drinks tea with his fucking helmet on he's so edgy.

Berserk is edgy as all fuck and Veeky Forums likes that. Same with Warhammer (Any version) and you know that the Chevilier Vampire Requiem threads are always popping up and being praised like no one's business.

Goblin Slayer is just shit.

>Berserk
>edgy

It used to be. But hasn't been in over a decade.

>Chevilier Vampire Requiem threads are always popping up and being praised like no one's business
That's more because it's absurdly ridiculous and metal though.

Haven't actually seen a Chevalier thread in a while though.

That's because they've been stuck on a boat for that time. Once this fairy island thing ends, I'm sure it will get all dark again.

I can't disagree with that. I think it's just better if it's a fun sort of edge, I guess.

It's not even the boat. The edge ended when Guts started protecting Casca again.

First chapter drew me in because of the rape be honest, some of you too , then it became interesting because of GS slight edge. But this whole setting is kind of dumb if you think about it. The first group got devastated because of their stupidity, not because how dangerous goblins are. The one man army called GS slaughters through them afterwards like they are nothing. Humans in general seem to be too imcompetent to deal with a threat of the strength and statue of a child, breed some fucking dogs and put on some guardsmen, it can't be that hard. If the people of europe were able to drive out wolves, they should be able to deal with some small goblins. The guild seems stupid as well and is a really video gamey addition, which makes this look like another isekai.

Goblins are literally so low on the threat level that it's a miracle that humans haven't been completely wiped out actually.
If a simple adventuring party can't handle goblins then fuck knows how they kill larger monsters. Even GS isn't that impressive once you actually think about it, he's literally slaughtering the most piss weak monsters.

I like that the guild lady totally deflated his edgy monologue after that scene.

You can tell it started as a one note parody.

That's kind of the whole point though.

There *ARE* liches and beholders and dragons and all kinds of other insane shit running around. The goblins aren't amassed in armies poised to wipe out humanity. As a result, everyone ignores them and the small towns and farmers are suffering from getting buttfucked by small raiding parties.

And no one wants to take the jobs because they pay so shit, so only fresh meat take the quests and die because they're idiots who bought into the whole "lol goblins 2 ez" meme.

It's like OP said about Tucker's Kobolds; if you underestimate them, you will get fucked.

>and the small towns and farmers are suffering from getting buttfucked by small raiding parties
Then fucking arm yourself, put on some simple defensive structures, breed some dogs. If they get buttfucked constantly they should adapt adequately and not beg a guild to help you.

They're farmers.

Farming isn't fast, nor is it easy, especially in a medieval setting. You have to do that shit all day, and then feed yourself, and wake up and sleep.

These are literally backwater peasants. They don't have the money or the means.

Adding to 's point gobbos are literally the size of children, an angry mob of farmers could quite easily overpower and kill them.
As for not having money or means, they have pitchforks. Lynch mobs were pretty popular when it came to witches, goblins would be fucking toast.

How occupied they are pretty much depends on the season. They already have enough tools in their shed that they can turn into weapons, spears can't be that expansive as well as some crossbows. Hell, some of them do probably some hunting, they should know how to kill a fucking child. And dogs. I will never get tired at pointing out dogs. Don't tell me dogs were too expansive in ye olden fantasy-middle ages.

And of course they have to sacrifice something. But do you think they will just keep on working like nothing happened, their livestock didn't got eaten and their daughters didn't got raped? No, they will for this season work less on a thing to eradicate these goblins, so they won't have that problem again.

you would have to deal with goblin poison and their extreme agility, though. low tier goblins may die in a single strike, but their small size and agility may be an extreme advantage on surprise attacks and hit-and-run tactics. i'd give a 50/50 chance for prepared dirt farmers to fight of a gob rape squad without suffering significant losses

also , it has yet to be stated how adaptable gobs are to new human tactics and such.

>and their extreme agility
Where is this stated?

Ledroit's art is more that gorgeous, the story and setting are decent, the humor is just crass and retarded to be a special kind of fun. And Mill's schtick is "over-the-top stupid evil that doesn't take itself seriously" (like his ABC run). It speaks to your inner teenager.

While we're at it, is there any decent isekai manga, or is the genre filled only with commercial garbage, Protagonist Fuck Yeah!, and videogame tropes?

>frank-einstein
10/10

>is there any decent isekai manga,

The Twelve Kingdoms

>isekai
What's that?

The first chapter tries to hard to be all "OH, LIGHT-HEARTED RPG? NOPE. GOBLINS ARE TOTALLY ABLE TO KILL YOU, HERE'S SOME RAPE, SO DARK AND REALISTIC.

It really overshadows some of the things pointed out in later chapters, like how Goblin Slayer is a PTSD case that's using the whole hero thing as an excuse for revenge, and while he does direct good it doesn't really change the goblin threat overall.

Also, there's some interesting things about how he fights. Using crap weapons so that he doesn't get slowed down and can ditch them, picking up weapons from the goblins, setting traps etc.

I'm on the fence about where it will go. Overlord really let me down compared to the LN where he slowly goes full evil and hates the living due to being an undead.

It's pretty obvious that Goblin slayer was written as a response to all those WN/LN where the protagonist is a goblin who then proceeds to do plenty of amoral shit like slaughtering adventure parties and raping women. Re:Monster is the most 'popular' example.

Although the setting doesn't make that much sense. Does the guild have a monopoly on everything to do with armed combat? Are there no militia's?

I dislike goblin slayer because it's rules are ridiculous. How come, in a world where goblins act so serious and dangerous, the PCs are ALLOWED just want r in and get butchered, raped and violated.

Like, how is this interesting or even make sense? Any appeal this manga has is done better by Overlord in the like, 9th volume where four groups of PCs are just utter rly outplayed and no one knew how dangerous the dungeon was. How am I meant to care about a manga when the two sides in conflict are on such different levels of competence that it's just a massacre. It's like watching Exploding Varmiants.

I think everyone is overreacting way too fucking hard. It's only had three chapters and the only people that have gotten gibbed are some fucking peasants and a level 0 adventuring team.

People and pissing and moaning like the goblins are butchering armed calvary and shitting in the king's mouth.

Nothing even remotely close to this has happened. It's literally "dumb people get jumped and murderfucked by goblins, no one cares because they have more important shit to worry about, and only one autist possesses the lust for genocide".

It's great.

...

The adventures must breed like rabbits too if the guild can simply throw parties at goblins until the goblins are worn down by attrition.

Japanese for "alternate world" IIRC. It designates fiction where the protag is sent to another world or is reincarnated. Fun thing, it often uses a lot of video game elements.

I wish Isekai would die

They also infringe on the monster design, but that's not what I was talking about. This manga is 2000 AD meets bottom of the barrel shit manga standards, and the entirety of plot lines are just regurgitation of famous D&D memes. The fact that the art is lifted too just highlights what a hackjob this is; printed for an audience that will never know what it has been lifted from.

Tbh, it isn't the genre that makes it bad; it can be linked to works like John Carter of Mars. The real issue is that the jap market is cancerous.
Western works also are formatted, but I rarely drop american/eurocomics because to much fanservice got in the way of the story.

>The real issue is that the jap market is cancerous

Explain.

Escaflowne!

Wait, did Escaflowne ever get a manga?

The publishing format encourages fillers chapters, shitty cliffhangers, basic titillation and formulaic stories (with a nice plothook in the beginning to differenciate yourself).
Roughly, you have a magazinebwith multiples ongoings inside (1 chapter per issue). There's a ranking for every issue. You're on the bottom, you're cancelled.

That and fucking otaku being a prime target. And otaku nd I don't have the same tastes.

There is no lack of low level murderhobo scum in any society

It's amazing to think that a market so wretched could produce something as pure and fun as Dungeon Meshi.

>That's because they've been stuck on a boat for that time
Nah, Guts started off edgy as all hell but when the golden age arc started Miura gave him characterization. Once Guts started to get a personality beyond "Rip and Tear" Berserk came into it's own.

This is what triggers me most about this world. The guild has a completely unreasonable response to Goblins, it's like ignoring termites in your house. They lose entire villages and yet still treat them like it's not a big enough deal to treat seriously.

They can't restrict jobs by rank, since it's clear that the lowest rank is incapable of taking down goblins. So instead of having newbies go kill rats in the sewers they are letting them march off to their deaths.

They should be sending at least 1 mid tier adventurer out with any group of low-tiers in order to make sure everyone comes back alive.

They should be restructuring in the Post-demon king world to allocate adventurers to these problem areas. Send people out on assigned missions, I guarantee that happened while the war was going on, why should now be any different?

They should be offering better rewards for these kinds of jobs. Apparently a single silver ranked adventurer can take down the average goblin den by himself, so why not just pay more or offer some other compensation to these types of people?

I've read a lot of stories with adventurer guilds but this is by far the dumbest and most incompetent representation I've seen yet.

There are always outliers in any situation.

He seems to be operating under the assumption that every single manga rag has the exact same business model and publishing format as super long running WSJ kuso serializations when MSG exists and there are hundreds of much smaller publications like Harta and Comic Beam producing high quality shit with actual planned ends.

Also, self publishing is pretty big.

> The guild has a completely unreasonable response to Goblins

This is my biggest problem with it. The idea of Goblin Slayer, as a character, is fun and could be used as good, if one note, story.

But the world that has been constructed to make him relevant is just really goddamn stupid, which pushes what are clearly supposed to be serious and mature events into pointless edgefaggotry.

Like, what is the guild even DOING if they are letting all of their new hires wander off and have a 50/50 chance of getting TPKed on their first mission? More importantly, if that's what keeps happening why does NO ONE fucking know about it? Its basically impossible for me to believe that the group in the first chapter could EVER have had the stereotypical JRPG mindset in this setting given the world they live in.

When the entire premise of your comic can be solved by basic on the job training for your entry level position, yer setting and story is fucked.

I want to see Goblin Slayer in Grimgar. There is the arc of 'goblins are actually clever and deadly, don't assume they aren't or people will die' played well and seriously in a good way. It noteably does not include hentai-tier rape fanfic or a guild literally too incompetent to survive.

>I want to see Goblin Slayer in Grimgar.
I found Grimgar to be a little lackluster but I could see a more interesting story revolviing around GS in that setting. He's a tactical, pragmatic thinker and that's the type of enemy he should be going up against.

Thing about Goblins in this world is that they use some pretty basic tactics and simple, yet effective, weapons and poisons. Grimgar goblins use armor, advanced weapons, and terrain advantage much better than what we've seen so far.

If low level adventurers keep getting TPKed by goblins, shouldn't the monetary reward for killing goblins be better?

Even sticking to just the internal economy of the guild itself, guild members pay guild fees. The Guild collects money from its members.

Parties that wipe are groups no longer feeding the guild money in the form of fees.

Economically, balancing a reasonable monetary incentive for killing goblins benefits the guild both coming and going by ensuring that they have a steady stream of income, a better reputation, and a higher survival rate among starting adventurers who are more likely to either rank up enough to handle more dangerous missions/are more successful at lower ranks to keep dangers like goblins down without having to involve the higher ups.

This seems like the sort of issue that is only a problem if the guild goes out of their way to make it a problem by withholding money for killing goblins out of some bullshit stigma, to the detriment of the organization as a whole.

Grimgar also suffer from that problem, less so, but still.

I dont now if its the same in the light novel, but in the anime in the chapter where the priest guy died they were having a picnic and laughing happily with one another, with NO ONE as a guard, no one watching the area from a high place to safeguard against any attack.

I think this is the problem I have with both Grimgar and globin slayer, those guys are taught how to fight in rpg style, monk fighter mage and so on, but they are never taught anything like tracking, tacking care of wounds without using spells, how to make a tourniquet, how to cover your retreat, how to set up an ambush and how to spot ambushes and so on.

Hell in the same episode the priest guy was running for his life, and instead of giving him cover every single person including the archer girl were waving and laughing with their fingers up their asses instead of watching for any attacks, had the archer girl let one or two arrows fly the priest guy might had lived.

But them again they were going hungry in grimgar because the archer girl could not bring herself to hunt "cute" animals.

I would pay money to see a story about a guild who trains groups of adventurers in those basic things, instead of sending them to be protagonists of the new asanagi doujin.

Dungeon meishi isn't a reincarnation powerwank.

The difference is that, in Grimgar, its that one specific group that's incompetent. They had gotten to the point where fighting 2 or 3 goblins at a time in the woods was reliably easy for them, and a false sense of security arose as a result.

Priest guy dying was 100% their fault. There were half a dozen things they could have done that would have saved the life of their friend. They should have had someone on watch. They should have been better equipped so they could have actually covered their retreat. Priest guy shouldn't have wasted so much magic healing their earlier, minor wounds and instead saved his power for dealing with the actually life threatening injury when it arose. Their only healer should never have been one of their primary frontline fighters in the first place. So on and so forth.

So they did a bunch of stupid shit, and it came back and bit them in the ass, and it got one of the most important people on their team killed. The responded to this by realizing how much they suck, and changing up their entire team dynamic by galvanizing themselves around his death and promising to do better. Which they do.

And this is from the group that was, from the very outset, the weakest and worst adventurers of their group. You have to remember, these guys are the ones that were left over after leader of their wave picked out everyone that he deemed actually worth a shit and went off with them to form a successful adventuring party. So these guys were weak fuckups from the start that are slowly, but surely, getting their act together by trial and error.

This is a much better story than 'lol goblin rape gangs eat 1d6 adventuring parties a week because the guild doesn't care, except for this one meme character who cares too much'.

>While we're at it, is there any decent isekai manga,
Sort of? The stuff deconstructing the genre is a lot better because the authors are competent and self-aware. Konosuba was funny, and Kumo Desu ga makes actual interesting explanations for genre conventions (or, it will eventually) while still fulfilling most of the expectations of the isekai crowd.

If you allow LNs and WNs and not just manga, Kumo Desu ga's actually had time to come into its own beyond the rudimentary 'weak monster' stage. Duke's Daughter is pretty good and doesn't focus on personal power at all. It even starts after the MC has 'lost' the romance game and been locked into what was a bad end for the character she replaced. Evil God Average is pretty funny, though definitely not a serious story.

>Berserk
>Edgy

There's a difference between being dark and being edge famalam.

Maybe once you graduate from middle school you'll actually learn the difference, though i doubt it.

>all those WN/LN where the protagonist is a goblin who then proceeds to do plenty of amoral shit like slaughtering adventure parties and raping women.
what are some others? I only know of Re:Monster doing this

There's one literally called I reincarnated as a goblin or something like that.

Dungeon Meshi is published in a monthly if I recall correctly. A lot of the criticisms in are mostly leveled at the big weeklies like Jump or the like - decline in quality tends to be inevitable in those because of the pressure to hit weekly deadlines and constant competition to become the next big blockbuster.

There's plenty of smaller mags who target more niche markets or run serials with an expected ending or run. Monthly serials generally are far less high pressure and aren't usually on the lookout for blockbusters in the same fashion. Chapters tend to be more self-contained or at least less cliff-hangery, again because of the long cycle.

Vinland Saga for example started out in Weekly Shonen, but the author decided to shift to Afternoon since the monthly schedule would let him keep up the quality (which did massively slow down the pace but the art quality has remained great)

tl;dr stick to monthly manga

Could do with more rape desu famalam.

Dunno if it's the translation/cultural barrer, but the overly long descriptions of the LN really rebuked me. Whuch is sas, because everyone tells me it's vastly superior to the manga/anime.

>every single one
No, but it's undeniable that the market, and isekai as a genre, is dominated by this model. As another user said, there's always outliers.

I know there is one called Goblin Kingdom which I stopped reading after the dude gets blessed by the goddess of death or something.

There is another one called Goblin Tenseiki ~erufu youjo ni kaku de maketeru yuusha na ore~ (Goblin Reincarnation Chronicles ~ I the hero, loses to an elf loli in status~). Which is pretty shit and edgy. In the story the goblins can commit bestiality and still have goblin offspring

>go on Veeky Forums
>better comics and manga discussion than /co/ or /a/.

It's like I don't even need the other boards anymore.

Also, do you guys know of a manga where an adventurer get killed and becomes some sort of spirit salamander that possesses a dog in a dungeon. I remember the first two chapters being decent.

What's up with goblin reincarnation? Is there a goblin figure in shintoism or something?

Thats interesting how about Ad Astra?

Its fucking badass and very sadly, unknown around here.

>So they did a bunch of stupid shit, and it came back and bit them in the ass
I was both really down for, and turned off by how incompetent that group was. From a narrative standpoint the Priest taking the front line didn't make a lot of sense since, much like in Goblin Slayer, priests getting killed and wasting heals is a common newbie trap. His instructors should have warned him about that. It's a plotpoint that made his death more stupid than tragic.

I do however like the idea of the group face taking on more than he can handle and paying the ultimate price. They were all strangers in a strange land and he pulled them together and organized them, that part of him was well written.

I think my biggest problem with the LN side of Fantasy is how cliche/trope reliant it seems. The worlds aren't carefully constructed and the internal inconsistencies are readily apparent. I think it was Terry Pratchet who said something about thinking about how your fictional world works by starting with how toilets work. (If not does anyone remember the quote?) More authors should take a bottom/up look at their stories instead of starting with the high concept and trying to make elements fit into that. If the guild is incompetent why is that? Are they understaffed? Are they low on funds and manpower due to a lengthy war and they have to settle for throwing newbies at relatively low priority threats? Why aren't there any local guard or national forces that can be thrown at this problem?

Having a world where the goblin population suddenly explodes and new variants appearing could be interesting. But this is a terribly executed way

Spirit migration?

>His instructors should have warned him about that. It's a plotpoint that made his death more stupid than tragic.

I think its less that he wasn't trained and more that he didn't listen, and no one else in the party knew enough to realize he was being an idiot and warn him to back off.

He became a priest because he didn't want anyone else in the group to die, and realized they needed a healer to have any chance at long term survival. He was the party leader, so he felt responsible for everyone else and did everything in his power to keep the group running.

The same motivation that lead him to becoming the healer, unfortunately, also meant that whenever he saw his teammates in trouble he rushed in to help them. Which, it should be pointed out, saved their asses more than once. I can think of at least one time when mage chick would have been fucking killed by a charging goblin if the priest didn't club it upside the head. Healing only works if your party survives the battle, and their formation was so shitty that the healer had to play defense to by the mages time to be mages at the start.

So, at least in the beginning, he was the healer they needed because he was carrying the team on all fronts. A more standoffish healer may have been using the better strategy, but the group wasn't good enough to survive without him swinging too.

He was unwilling to risk his inaction leading to harm for the others, and ended up being the one to die because of it. It was a rookie mistake, and an avoidable one, but not one that screams to me of bad writing.

Considering how many recent fantasy mangas directly use video game elements, I don't think internal consistency is at the top of their mind.
We already have things such as levels, xp, skills and hud. Spawn points are the logical next step.
And it probably succeeds in immersing the gamer, by giving him a setting he recognises from his games.

Ad Astra's published in Shuiesha's Ultra Jump, a monthly mag targeted at the seinen (adult male) audience. Sites like Baka-updates usually list where a particular manga is serialized, and quickly looking up the name of the magazine can tell you a lot. A little research can help a lot.

>Spawn points are the logical next step.

Its happening already. Ongoing show called Re:Zero is about a guy trapped in fantasy land where every time he dies he goes back to the last save point, but he doesn't control when the save points happen.

Its basically driving him insane, because the only one who remembers between 'lives' is him. So not only does he keep using future knowledge and acting crazy for the benefit of the team, but sometimes there can be weeks or even MONTHS between save point drops. Whole relationships he has with other characters get reset to zero for everyone else. You just spent the last 8 months trying to find a way for your waifu to survive a particular battle? Congrats, you did it! Also, SHE HAS NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOU GODDAMN SACRIFICED TO GET HER THIS FAR. Nor does she understand what seems, from her pov, to be a freakish attachment to her.

I like a bunch of these silly videogamey fantasy mangas, myself. Do any of you know Helck? It's legit pretty great. It starts super silly and then eventually grabs your feels by the balls and begins squeezing until they're singing soprano.

Video game logic can work if done right. Guilds and leveling are great in a series called Beet the Vandel Buster. The guild is well organized, ranking means something, video game spell structures are respected but interesting.

>Its happening already
Sounds like All you Need is kill with more emphasis on the MC losing his mind instead of becoming a battle-hardened soldier.

>Helck
This is really good and handles jumping between comedy and grit really well.

>Helck

I love Helck's design. His face is so unusual for a manga character. .

It tries way to hard to be berserk and just comes off as a 14 year old gm trying to make things "dark n gritty"

Also it's shit

It's sad that Veeky Forums has better conversations about trash manga than /a/. Also better conversations about non-trash manga.

I think Veeky Forums has the best discussions about everything, Videogames, politics, history.

Its my haven for many years, thank god I always loved D&D and TT.

Its a general rule of Veeky Forums that for any topic to which an entire board is dedicated, the best place for discussion is somewhere else. The dedicated board is full of too many people there to shitpost or meme about the topic to have real discussions, or worse people that are just waaaaay to into the subject matter in that way that makes them a nightmare to talk to. Either way, they rarely notice threads on the other boards.

This is easily true for /a/ and /v/. I'm not sure what other boards it applies to. It even applies to Veeky Forums itself. I have seen 40k discussed on /m/ sometimes, and while their lore knowledge was slightly spotty by our standards they didn't get overrun with stale heresy memes.

True but Veeky Forums has a lot of civilized discussion, look at battletech threads.

Even if it does have a monopoly on all armed combat, that doesn't explain the lack of DOGS. Think about it. The Goblin Slayer's job could be done by Rottweilers and everybody would be fine. Keep them around villages to run down any scouts and run them into the caves to tear the the little fuckers up in their homes.

Dogs are the answer to Goblins.

off the top of my head, then of course its all European comics like Moebius and Druillet and stuff like Prophet, Chevilier Vampire Requiem.

Oh, I agree. Overall we still have what I think is a higher standard of discussion as a board culture. Which, I believe, stems from the fact that we are by necessity an interactive hobby. Traditional gamers, in order to play traditional games, still need to have some kind of social skill in order to organize and play games with other nerds. We have our basement dwelling grognards too, but they generally exist on the fringes of the hobby because their ability to stay in a gaming group is limited.

Compare this to /a/, /tv/ and /v/, who are notoriously bad. They are all non-interactive hobbies. You can be hitler with tourettes and still play video games or watch anime/tv, so there is no social gate on the hobby to filter out people.

I was just pointing out that we were not immune to the 'some things are better discussed on other boards' thing. We also have a weirdly high success rate when it comes to off topic everything.

Bride Story: I HEARD YOU LIKE TAPESTRIES, MOTHER FUCKER.

>any decent isekai manga
Sort of anti-isekai really, but Natsunokumo and Ressentiment both deal with the same themes as a lot of isekai stuff. In generally a more negative way.

Tower of God could be seen as isekai in some lights. The construction and rules of the fantasy world obviously ape games, but the world 'outside' the fantasy world is just another (really, many other) fantasy world(s).

I just skimmed through this thread. So I've a couple questions.

How explicit does it get with everything? Like, is this something that I'd be comfortable reading in public, or more something to just read when I'm alone?

Also I forgot my other question.

Like, to the point that it honestly drags down the whole narrative and tanks any ability to take the manga seriously.

Imagine if you were watching Game of Thrones and, instead of just showing you tits or having some characters fuck, there was a 10 minute break in the episode where shitty elevator jazz plays and everyone takes the time to enact some really forced 'screw the pizza delivery boy' scene with really awful dialog that tries to be sexy. Where it looks more like someone splice in the low budget porn parody of the show you are watching than the actual show.

Its about that subtle.

> Bride Story: I HEARD YOU LIKE TAPESTRIES, MOTHER FUCKER.

Damn straight. This comic is gorgeous.

Huh. Alright then. I like the idea, but having it executed like that is kinda meh.

Might make a character like Goblin Slayer though, have him dedicated to killing Kobolds.

I went and looked at the first chapter of this and it just seems like misery porn like in Akame whateverthefuck. Is that a correct assessment?

Those asses are unreal.

Dude the guild does not employ adventurers, the adventurers are not workers for the guild. A guild is not a company, a guild is like a collection of companies/people who all share the same job and meet together to set regulation standards, etc. So when people go to the guild because the guild has alot of people who are part of it who can kill dangerous things. So you pay them to kill dangerous things. The guild would then decide how dangerous this thing is, and would give out a recommendation. They told the new guys that they should not go for goblins, and go for rats instead. But they don't assign jobs for adventurers. The guild posts jobs, and adventurers pick which one they want. Hell a freash newbie could pick a job where he has to kill the demon lord, and there isn't much that the guild could do about it. After all there is no point in kicking them out, they either die and are out of the guild, or they were a once in a 100 year genius who is able to beat down demon lords right out the gate, and should not waste time fighting rats. The guild won't hold your hand, it expects you to be smart enough to know what you do. The guild is not a company and it can tell OSHA to fuck itself.
