Change it to about 99% of the time. It's incredibly hard to have a modern world that well integrates fantasy elements.

I mean, it seems like it'd make for a neat setting (Society attempts to integrate/cope with magic and fantastical creatures in the present time), but most of the time it winds up being lame by not really being very logical or well done. Most of the time writers just have fantasy or modern at odds with each other and have one prevail.

I don't understand why we don't have something that resembles Stargate: a small group of elite soldiers in an alien environment, whose inhabitants might be friendly or hostile. Add your typical fantasy elements as horror, don't give the team completely overpowered weapons, let them improvise, learn and adapt.
