ITT: We Create Social Combat Feats

Or list some of our favorites.

Social combat isn't exactly handled well in D&D in general. Let's list some of our favorite feats that give a little flavor to the character, that have nothing to do with hitting each other with sticks or balls of energy.

Has anybody homebrewed a social-fu Tome of Battle class yet?
I could see a bluff-based discipline based around the feint action and the use of war fans and bladed parasols.

Deep Insult (feat, social):, req 16Cha;
You say something so vile, so repulsive,
And so utterly hurtful, that the creature
You say it to must make a DC 18 will check,
Or fall prone and cry for 1d6 rounds.
This requires that the creature and you can communicate fluidly in a language, and some knowledge about the creature and its past or habits.

Downblouse- You catch your opponent off guard by bending over slightly, affording a view down your garment at pleasant flesh. As a result, they take your charisma modifier off their next roll to resist manipulation.
>restriction (must have breasts)

Wise- You are naturally wise, and it shows through your words. You may add your wisdom modifier to attempts made to manipulate others.
>requires 16 or higher Wisdom.

Trigger PTSD:
You leave a slightly mean comment about a fat dyke, written on the tavern notice board. The bitch calls the local authority on your ass and then claims veteran benefits.

>Improved Sodomy
You have advantage on rolls to sodomize, and do not provoke an attack of opportunity

thealexandrian.net/creations/advanced-rules/diplomacy-design.html
mandatory

Sodomizing Opportunist:
When a creature would provoke
an attack of opportunity from you,
you may instead sodomize that creature.

>Love Sausage
Treat your dick as 8" longer for the purpose of all Diplomacy, Bluff, Intimidate and Sense Motive rolls

Might makes right- You're strong. It shows. People don't want to piss you off. They take a -X to any attempt to influence you. You also get +X to any attempt to persuade someone weaker than you.
X=Str modifier
>require 16 Str

Barbarian Roar-As a standard action, you let out a roar of rage and battlelust, frightening those before you. Any opponent within 50 feet of you must make a will check equal 10+Your levels in Barbarian or be shaken. If they are already shaken, they become frightened. Opponents who fail critically are frightened, and opponents who are already frightened lose consciousness.

Silver Spoon, Silver Tongue- Your wealth proceeds you. You gain +2 to your charisma checks to persuade others who know of you.

Cowardly- You aren't much of a fighter, and you don't look it either. You may make a charisma check (opposed by their will) to silently persuade enemies to go after someone stronger.

Divine Proclomation- You are righteous. Your deity fortifies your words with his/her/it's divine will. You start speaking with authority as a standard action, you start calling out your opponents for their shameful ways. Power surges forth from your words, opponents must make a DC:10+levels in paladin will check or submit to you in battle. Any violence shown to them breaks this, and combat continues. If there are multiple opponents, they get a +1 to resist for each other ally in combat. CR-5 or greater opponents get a +5 to their will check. Creatures or people of a higher level are immune. Creatures or people who match your alignment are immune.

Holy fuck, D&D is this fucking broken? What a shit game, and what the fuck do the DMs do? Do they play RAW and cry?

Well, ideally they houserule it to make it less broken.

Breaking news, 3.PF is hot garbage! More at 11!

Play half the rules, play other game .

[Internal Screaming]

Thank god there's a passable fix located at the bottom of the page. Jesus Christ.

What is this rule 0 fallacy crap? If my car's breaks are broken, I simply don't drive the car unless I am ready to die.

Every Pen and Paper game requires the Storyteller/Gamemaster/Dungeonmaster/Referee to house rule the ever loving fuck out of it to make it work.

Every system will also have an assortment of people who will pipe up when you level this accusation stating that they play the game RAW and it is just "fine".

When people choose an RPG they are either choosing what people play locally or what setting they like. Crunch for everything sucks.

>Puppet Master
if you have a weapon with the Reach ability and you have an opponent pinned. You may make a grapple check, if you succeed, you sodomize them with the reach weapon. They take 1d8 sodomy damage each round they are pinned.
Opponents may make a grapple check to escape, but must make a concurrent will check to continue fighting. If they fail, they lose the will to fight.

>Improved Puppet Master (Banner Carrier)
If you are currently sodomizimg an opponent using a reach weapon, you may make a Str check to lift them off the ground, where they will stay pinned by their own weight. They take a -5 to any attempt to escape. You must remain stationary while retaining the Banner carrier form. You may make a 5-foot step before your attempt to continue the grapple, but doing so incurs another strength test at -5.

>known sodomist.
You know who you are. And so do others. Dealing with you is a pain in the ass. Opponents must make a will check against your charisma check+1 for each sodomized character in sight or be shaken.
You gain a +3 if you have a reach weapon in hand. Extra +2 if it's pointy/serrated.

I'm gonna go ahead and scratch out some ideas...

Characters have both social relationships and personal relationships.

>Social Relationships
Every character has a position in the social hierarchy based on their level plus adjustments particular to their culture (elves and dwarves value age, orcs value strength, etc.)

Your social relationship to a character is your position in the social hierarchy relative to them.

>Personal Relationships
Personal relationships here represent loyalty. It's less a matter of how much NPC's like you, but rather more a matter of how much NPC's feel they owe you or how much NPC's are willing to sacrifice for you.

>Expectation
NPC's also have their own ideas of how loyal your PC should be toward them. An NPC might demand things from you.

Now, an NPC's position in the social hierarchy determines the amount of funds available to them and the price of their services. An NPC's position in the hierarchy also determines how much they can demand from others.

An NPC's relationship to your character determines how much of their available funds and services they are willing to share with you.
An NPC's expectations determines how much service they can demand from you in return.

You use diplomacy checks to improve an NPC's personal relationship with you (so they are willing to share more with you) and reduce an NPC's expectations from you (so they demand less of you.)

>Every Pen and Paper game requires the Storyteller/Gamemaster/Dungeonmaster/Referee to house rule the ever loving fuck out of it to make it work.
is this what 3.pf babbies actually believe? it's so wrong it's insane.

No game ever made can seamlessly handle every situation that will come up through RAW and have it come out well. Game designers can either focus on what they feel are the most important elements of the game they want to play, or they can attempt to make a system do everything badly.

>No game ever made can seamlessly handle every situation that will come up through RAW
yes, and? that doesn't mean you're 'houseruling the fuck out of it'
what the fuck are you smoking?
>Game designers can either focus on what they feel are the most important elements of the game they want to play, or they can attempt to make a system do everything badly.
holy shit, you guys really are that deluded

You mean GURPS? That a little unfair though, it's pretty competent.
