Why don't girls like tabletop anymore?

Why don't girls like tabletop anymore?

They're all into Laser Tag now.

Real girl nerds are stinky, annoying, clingy, and unsociable.

Girls are often into roleplaying games and storytelling.

They're just not into you.

I just got back from playing 5e with a group containing 3 girls.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I have two women in my group. I also see large amounts of female in the local gaming store which we play. The shop itself has a policy against B.O., applies to both sexes. As players i would say they are both middle of the road, and both contribute to the game and to the social atmosphere. And they are my friends.

And apparently my personality died when typing that!

Isn't it a bit early to be back already?

I thought that was a second room briefly before realizing that was a mirror. Actually kinda neat placement except for the idea of using that as the intended dining room. Like, do you really want to see the back of everyone's heads while you eat?

There are women in TTRPGs, just not in the LGS or your games because there are creepy fat men wearing trilbies there.

I know more women playing TRPG's than I know dudes.

My regular group is majority female. They're all pretty normal, bit on the nerdy side and members of the local cosplay community, but none of them are creepy or cringey in any way. It is most of theirs first campaigns but we've been at it for almost 7 months now.

Two girls just joined my group, don't know what to say other than you're wrong OP

In fact, i'd say tabletop has only had a growing female playerbase ever since dnd became a popular meme

They became feminists on Tumblr.

Those anons already answer your question:
Out of 23 different players I'm running games for, only 7 are guys. In fact, it's pretty hard to find males for TTRPG or any role-play at all nowdays, unless you are willing to endure total spergs and people that are incarnation of player stereotype: unhygienic, overweight and extremely socially inept. And those aren't even as "popular" as Veeky Forums migh make you think they are

So you couldn't be more wrong, OP, but I understand your bait.

I have four players. Two women, two men. Diversity.

But actually, all but one of my groups have had pretty solid sex ratios. East coast universities ftw.

My first group is two dudes, two girls, and a feminine gay dude.

My other group is all dudes, but I'm probably going to leave that group soon because the DM is t r a s h desu senpai

This

>And they are my friends.

>yfw you just realized GM shliked under the table whole session

u just had to make it weird didnt u

They are. Unfortunately, they're mostly into the shitty kinds of roleplay. I think it's something cultural -- the kinds of shit fantasy girls often like leads into the kind of shit roleplaying girls often like.

There's a bunch of women at my local gaming store for some reason. The all play DnD though and I can't be bothered to play that dreadful system.

Your thread is based on an unfounded assumption.

Just give the thread a couple of hours and there'll be enough self-illustrating posts.

>mfw played Masquerade back in '95-'98 with an all-female group

Most girls are into what their current crush is into and have no interests or valuable opinions of their own.

What, you mean ERP?

Ain't nothing wrong with that.

30kek: Horus Kekesy

How...how bad was it?

>like ERP

No, and I don't think your insinuation is even worth starting, especially just because you're going to follow it with "The ERP thread had girls in it!" and try to use that as some sort of factual evidence.

I'm also betting you also thought all the girls you had cybersex with were girls.

Also, there's actually a lot that's fundamentally wrong with ERP. Roleplaying Games are a terrible vehicle for eroticism, the sort of thing that everyone who takes part is a worse person for having done so.

I think the underlying issue is that the game always needs to be dumbed down in order to include erotic elements. People need to be reduced to caricatures, plots lose any semblance of purpose or direction, and the players' primary goal (getting aroused) trumps everything else, leaving the game an embarrassing, enormous construct that is superfluous in design for its intended purpose.

It really never works well, because you either have the game immediately reduced to mindless masturbation, or even worse you have people doing their best to be as pretentious as possible with their eroticism.

It's like trying to make chess erotic. At best, you've got strip chess played by two people who honestly don't give a fuck about chess, and at worst you've got two people trying to confer complex rules involving which pieces are taken when while deliberating over each move for several minutes, all when the only thing either player really cares about is getting off.

probably 40% of the people I've played with over my time in the hobby have been women, you just have to not be an autistic sperg and most people will want to give D&D a try regardless of their gender, race, or creed

That's some baseless exaggeration, grills are alright to play with. But you do have a point in that QT RPG bros are where it's at in between sessions..

...

You're thinking of millennials, user. To be honest, I'd rather kill them all and let the human race die out than let them inherit the Earth.

I DM a group of two girls and a guy, i guess if your impression is that females don't play tabletop that much anymore it's probably because of the increase in sexism in the gaming community as a whole since women have been starting to ask more frequently equality against said stigma.
It's a viscious cycle: girls try to play with guys, guy are toxic and cancerous Veeky Forums shitpost level and base their hate on few more extreme and radical so called "feminists", which they really aren't since that kind of behaviour doesn't do anything else but fire up the other extremeists who of course will instigate against a whole group because of the few.

>inb4 go away reddit, tumblr. SWJ used an insult REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

...

KYS, kthanks.

...

>autistic sperg

You do realise that autistic and sperg mean the exact same thing? You might as well have said Jewish Israelite.

When were you born, user?

Which faggot generation are you?

Why? I'm not the one that can't talk to girls, dude...

...

>SWJ
Solitary Warrior Justice?
South-West Jersey?
See-Write-Judge?

They seem to have fun, why can't you enjoy your gaming group, user?

Preach!

So much this.

Straight up dudes learn to be functional adults and stop being creepers and women will stop avoiding you.

Girls like tabletop games.
Don't you know ConTessa? It's like, the big thing that's made for girls who are afraid of getting into the hobby because of all the idiots who think girls can't into RPG for some reason.

lmao ok, "you got me"

>Running incompatible party compositions
>2016

1972. Just old enough to see how self-centred and horrible millennials are. Sure, generation z will end up being worse, but millennials will have killed the world with their socialism and their safe spaces long before generation z takes over. The fact of the matter is that millennials are evil by virtue of being lazy, and evil people harm the world just by existing. It would be better for no-one to live than for evil socialists and SJWs to continue living.

Girls tend to be a bit more insular. They'll play with people they know aren't total sperglords. You won't see them at some pickup game at the LGS, usually.

One cool thing about RPGs is that they're pretty safe from fake geek girls who just want attention. There are much less involved/time-intensive ways to feel like a part of the geek subculture. Livestream, "geeky" shows on Netflix, et cetera.

The ice cream has melted! Look, LOOK!

Much better than your shitty meme

It was just plain weird for like a year straight because it was polar opposite of my experiences up to that point where you MAYBE had a single woman wander into a session full of bearded men and never return afterwards. I should've pointed out we moved on to Dark Ages Vampire pretty much in the same month book got released and stuck with that until the end. It was a group of four women, ranging from 27 to 44 years and we got along just fine. Probably some of the most memorable experiences in all my years of roleplaying.

>young adult during the 90s
>capable of criticising anything
Haven't you got some pants to wear backwards?

>2016
>After decades of desperately wanting women at the table, neckbeards suddenly throw a fit when women actually are showing up in droves

You tell me what went wrong.

>Le socialism maymay
I've stopped reading somewhere around that.
Don't you have by chance some boothstraps to pull?

They're changing the hobby. Whether that's good or bad is up to you, but status quo be disrupted. Especially if fabled SJWs find their way into the hobby.

Point out the best girl in each picture

Nonsense. Every generation says this about subsequent generations. I was as much of an idealistic, pretentious asshole when I was their age, and so were you.
And before you hit out with "Oh, I was never as bad as them!" just remember that you were. To the older generations around when you were younger, you were EXACTLY as naive, arrogant and utterly frustrating as millennials are to you.

It's 2016, you can stop the whole joke about Socialism needs to be evil and Social Justice is the end of times, grow a spine, start behaving like a respectful individual.

Yeh yeh you can reply with your worst offensive argument ever, keep hating, i know how it is.

I wanna lick the GM's thighs.

oh my god! It's almost as if being a douchebag towards other genders isn't an accepted behaviour anymore! Where is the world going?!

>Why dont girls like rpgs?
Suddenly all 10 of the only groups with females comes out of the woodwork to sjwpost
>They ignore the 1000s of gamrs that dont hve any females
>Insist the problem is men and not the most females just arent interested in rpgs
I smell liberals

man, you need help.
I smell a sociopath.

>(You)

>socialism isn't evil
>An ideology that functions entirely off people having their possessions forcibly taken by jackbooted thugs so that it may be given to other people who haven't earned it
>Also a system that arrogantly assumes an economy can be run better by some "experts" in a government building rather than a system of individuals making collective purchase decisions based on preferences they hold instead of the preferences the government holds

...

This.
And you know it's this.

Be respectful too often just means fall in, shut up and accept that your views don't matter at all next to certain other people's. It is a distasteful way to divide people while transparently signaling your own virtue. But I have faith in the next generation and mine to see through this increasingly fragile system built on egg shells and recreational victimhood. The pendulum swings both ways and we're nearing that point.

This person knows what's up, every generation is afraid that the next generation is going to ruin everything, even the ancient Greeks did this.

>Implying alt-right fedora tippers embrace the free market and aren't protectionist as fuck
>Implying I'm the same person you were calling a tipper earlier and not just a triggered economist

>Guys, you know what we never talk about on Veeky Forums? Gender and feminism! I'll fix it by posting 60 threads about girls a day! Plus I can bring it up in other unrelated threads to derail those too! That'll teach the SJWs!

Pointing out that females inherently have different interests than males males me a sociopath
Sjws have gone too far

Oh god pls post more qt fembois

Convincing yourself "they're just inherently uninterested in RPGs" absolves you of responsibility. It's a cheap way of ignoring how unwelcoming a lot of the hobby can be.

Did people ever talk about games on this board? All I've seen for months are memes and /pol/ trollbait. The OSR general is the only good part of this entire board.

same

>Being this tier retaded
I mean even if it's just a really cheap bait, here is the clue:
This is adult-only page. Sprouting teenage angst just doesn't fit in, sperg

>implying this
is tippage, not just common sense

PLS get out of your basement or read a book about economy. And by that I do not mean Marx.

Socialism has ever only functioned (badly, even then) without freedom.

Requires imagination and dedication, to things women don't have.

Please, show us on the doll where the mean woman touched you

>It's a cheap way of ignoring how unwelcoming a lot of the hobby can be

What pearl clutching libtards call "unwelcoming" is what has been completely fucking normal for people who can function in society for decades.

If you want to join a club or community, learn its fucking social norms and don't demand it changes to accommodate you. If you don't like it, fuck off.

Whether it's "the hobby", a sports team or just a quiet local bar if you turn up and start objecting that the regulars won't change their accepted norms for your sake, you should expect to be called out.

>Pretty normal thread, even if bait in the core
>American daytime hours
>HURRR SOCIALISM SJWS LIBERTARDS DURRR

I'm a millennial and I'm already a grumpy old conservative who thinks the world is going to hell.

People my age these days are absolute garbage, objectively.

This.

You'll never see posts about "soccer culture" being so unwelcoming of le poor newcomers.

The whole sjw shebang picked traditional games only because the people in this community tend to be social introverts who aren't very good at setting boundaries.
Be those boundaries for the smelly, fat cheeto-fingered weirdo or the screeching blue-haired poster woman for aposematism.

The pushback against SJWs in Veeky Forums-culture is something very healthy for the whole community.

So, do you guys tone down on all the fun stuff, like rape, pedophilia, erotic cannibalism, in your games when there are women in your group?

>fedora-tippers at the FLGS are functional members of society with reasonable social norms and interpersonal skills.

It is important to learn the norms of any group before one joins it. But the "social norms" I'm talking about are the manchild equivalent of a "No girls allowed" sign on a treehouse.

My DM is female.

Holy shit, what a cute!! That's a femboy? Forreal? I don't believe you.

My group is mostly women. ( 4 girls, 3 guys) They're not really rare.

Female GM's though, I've never met one of those.

Well you've got to understand the sign before you go about trying to convince them to take it down at least.

>implying a "no girls allowed" treehouse sign is a bad thing

The "girls have cooties"-phase is integral to the development of a boy, you tard.

>reasonable social norms

"please learn the rules before playing this game with us" - is suddenly not a reasonable social norm

Every community is autistic to a certain degree, this is how communities work. They define against the 'other'.

I'm going to start a game in a month or so. All or most of my players will probably be women. The one person I know will be playing, has played tabletop RPGs since she was a kid.

Also, hold on, does that DM SCREEN HAVE CHARTS ON BOTH SIDES?

You're not a grumpy old conservative. You're just someone who wants to be one so you can complain about the current generation while excluding yourself from it.

Considering both of my girlfriends are into that shit, no, I don't tone it down for them. I do for some of my other (male) players who would get uncomfortable with that kinda stuff, though.

Is that girl eating a gallon of hummus in the middle of the game? Jesus christ her farts must smell like a damp couch!

What's the matter bud? Can't handle a different viewpoint? Better run along to your safe space. :^)
