To be fair, the ice cream supplement makes nearly any build work. It's kinda OP, I don't allow it at my table.

Citrus as a whole is a convoluted mess. I mean, most of them are some sort of hybrid of another two, and going for one of the original four (pomelo, citron, papeda and mandarin) is just giving the Bowl Master an excuse to shit all over you.

How viable are apples?

The humble apple is portable, crisp, can be eaten peeled or unpeeled, and gives a specific bonus against Doctors.

Shit yeah apple is viable. Apple is a jack of all trades, able to cover a fair amount of roles pretty darn well. Convenience, Crispness, Juiciness, Flavour, he covers them all.

Just make sure to build a Granny Smith, Pink Lady or Honeycrisp.
