Polite sage so we can continue using the old thread and not bump this one.

imgur.com/a/vhk5A

Two other threads were made when other thread was autosaging, at only page 5 at that, both of them are fetish bait, a couple people said "Fuck you OP" and (hopefully) reported them both.

So, to start a proper topic, what are your plans for your character's next few levels? If you don't have an active character, what builds are you planning?

As always, never forget: around elves, watch yourselves

Repeating from last thread Hopefully without the stuff that spawned the question or rest of the discussion is there a simple way to remove fire (or other salient element) immunity from a dragon to get a horrific meltdown kill as the fire (or other salient element) in its body and blood sears it from the inside out?

Mostly just curious.

I wanna say there was a kineticist option that let you reduce or remove resistance and immunity to your element, but I'm not 100% on that.

There's not really rules for what happens to the dragon if you do that, aside from its defenses weakening.

Inquisitors have that class feature that removes the DR and Resistance but only for the purpose of their weapon attacks.

And I don't think your DM would allow the dragon to just spontaneously combust for an easy kill.

Are you asking as a GM or Player?

As far as I'm aware, only things that penetrate immunities are on a per-attack basis.

>Told my players to bring their A-game
>decide to make autistically HUGE dungeon crawl that goes full tucker's kobolds at the party
>2 of my players suddenly say they can't make it
>left with 2 players for this weekend

This is going to be a slaughter before they can ever reach the 1st set of stairs to the 2nd floor, I just know it.

Give them some NPC helpers?

Make it a little easier?

Fudge a set number of rolls per encounter in their favor?

Just tell them you won't do this particular session without everyone due to all the work you put into it?

TFW the Captcha box DISSAPPEARS and you have to reload the page in order to post.

Recruit from the thread?

Yo /pfg/, a potential big bad just got away with stealing some yet-undetermined artifact right all around the PC's noses. What are some great evil toys for spellcasters that can fit into a nondescript package?

The undead heart of a stillborn god.

SCEPTER OF AGES!

SCEPTER OF AGES!

SCEPTER OF AGES!

A bag that transforms sand into any spell component needed.

Powerful enough for a bad guy to want to steal, useful for a player if it ends up in their hands

Make sure that one way or another they have enough support to have a fair chance at completing the challenges you're going to present them with, whether that be by pruning your challenges down to more appropriate challenges, or adding NPCs who can fill in the holes in the group and keep them rolling and competing. If you collected character sheets ahead of the game, just bot the other players' characters.

>mfw Piranha Strike by RAW doesn't work with Rapiers, or any number of other finesse weapons

What the everloving fuck? I mean, my GM will overrule that, but seriously? What other dumb feat limitations are there that I never noticed before, I wonder?
How memetastic is TWF with rapier and dagger, by the way?

Dumb limitations? Most Paizo material regarding martials.

Apparatus of Kwalish

maybe it's trying to tell you something, tripfag

How much sand would you need to make a diamond worth 10,000 gold?

I'm trying to decide between a Feral Shifter Druid or a Pack Lord Druid for my character.

He's supposed to be an elven druid who left his clan to go live in the woods with the wolves and often takes the form of a wolf.

Can a Pack Lord have multiple wolves for the multiple companions feature, or do they have to be different animals?

10000g of sand :^)

What's the coolest siege weapon to mount on the back of a dragon?

10,000 gold worth and polymorph any object.

Going geomancer and grabbing the water package at least so I have something to do without spending SP if my GM rules there aren't any plants around.

Low level Spheres is kind of suffering.

They can be different, but you REALLY don't want more than two. They become just... Way too weak to be useful after that.

Go for a Hunter archetype instead
Its more or less what you'e looking for.

>10,000 gold worth and polymorph any object.

How would that work? Let's say there's some crazy king in the setting somewhere who would spend 10,000 gold on an ounce of sand, would you be able to convert an ounce of sand into a diamond worth 10,000 gold?

So if I want to do
>Turn into wolf
>Have two wolves fight by my side
Hunter is better for it?

Yes
d20pfsrd.com/classes/hybrid-classes/hunter/archetypes/paizo---hunter-archetypes/feral-hunter

What are some potential uses?

Stat me.

Incidentally, Packmaster Hunters aren't that bad either but you lose out on wild shape.

I don't understand hybrid classes.

Do I need levels in both of the parent classes?

Part of what I like about spheres is the utter flexibility.

Also, energy blade makes what weapons you're still proficient with much better. Since it's just "a single weapon attack", it works with ranged weapons, too.

By RAW, yes.

When you want stats you have to explain what the fuck it is you want statted, we aren't all victims of the same flavor of autism you know.

>literally a deity
>deities in PF don't have stats

How about not?

As the hybrid classes are 20-level classes that have no prerequisites, no, you do not need levels in their parent classes.

No, Hybrid classes are their own classes. They're simply understood as the offspring of two classes throwing their class features into a single class instead.

Neither of these things are correct, sand isn't similar enough to diamonds to work in one go.

Instead, you PAO any quantity of sand into a 10,000gp diamond/10,000gp of diamond dust, then use PAO again to make it a mildly different color so that it is now permanent.

God, it's like you guys don't even Beholder Mage.

Boss with the advanced move Swell Ranks.

>beholder mage
Can we not bring that mess up again?

>been looking for elves in military uniforms for fucking months
>finally see this
>the artist killed his DA and religiously chases down all pictures he has ever drawn to remove them

Jesus christ, what the fuck.

Me too, but it's also kind of a hindrance when you're starting at level one and Nature sphere is as fragmented as it is.

>in b4 don't start at level 1
I WISH

>in b4 don't play a geomancer then
BUT MUH DRUID SHIT

Kitsune unchained in Bloodforge: Infusions when?

Regular kitsune unchained, Small fennec kitsune, arctic kitsune...

Fey ARTs maybe?

Does it matter if it's permanent if it's actually 10k gp diamonds at the time?

Most resurrection spells and high material component spells in general have long cast times. Besides, if you can cast PAO once, you can do it twice.

You could just pick up geomancing later? At say level 2 or 3?

Get destruction or something.

The Destruction book had a thing in it for easy conversions of some talents to different themes, with the examples being plant-based, ask if you can use those?

I got a delivery for a box of Fluffy Tails™

Is this the right address?

You realize there's already 3pp shit for all of that, and that you don't need DSP to cater to your fetishes?

It's okay. You're free now.

Mmm, nope. I didn't order any of this.

Did they fix that archetype? Because the one in my print copy is garbage.

>not starting with destruction+extended range at first level
>not taking focus, magical signs, and somatic casting drawbacks for all those extra spell points

I don't wanna say you're new, but you seem pretty new. How many talents did you start with?

Yeah, I'm planning to get destruction + crystal blast at some point, but I'm trying to get my backstory-mandated plant fu down first.

also I don't have a copy of the destruction handbook

who the fuck ordered more fluffy tails for /pfg/?

We already have a surplus of them

No, the fluffy tails is to be delivered to 5e general, since they're finally getting Kitsune and catgirls as a playable race

>mfw salty 5e fags crying about their hobby becoming more weeb

It's in the Trove. I think. The planty destruction talents are on page 20.

First, the destruction handbook is in the trove, so go get it.

Second, crystal blast is better if you aoe your blast, but that requires explosive orb or shape blast. I haven't gone through everything in the destruction handbook, so there's probably more options in there, but definitely read it if you're strugging in early SoP levels.

If I have a Bite attack, can I make iterative attacks with it if my BAB is +6 or higher?

You can never have enough fluffy tails

Also, regarding Crystal Blast, one of the examples, Bramble Blast, is literally converted from Crystal Blast. So grab that.

Mine!

I am new to spheres, yeah, and couldn't justify the focus thing.

5. Incanter + swapping out all the feats for sphere specialization and the luck and travel domains.

My current list is Nature, Plantlife (which I'm just realizing I didn't need to purchase separately and thus can grab destruction woo), Speak to Plants, Grow Plants, and Greater Range.

Nope. Under normal circumstances, you can only attack once with a natural attack per round.

The way to think about it is that natural attacks don't intersect with attacks from BAB at all.

If you have two claw attacks, you can make two claw attacks.

But that doesn't STOP you from using other weapons like swords or whatever. So at a BAB of +6, you could make two normal attacks with a sword, and THEN your natural attacks as well (Provided the limb's not occupied, like a clawed hand being used to hold a sword)

Using both your BAB attacks and your natural attacks makes all the naturals function as Secondary attacks, however, meaning they have -5 to hit.

Find a way to exasperate my GM even more with my current character.
Just a minor thing, not like full That Guy

My GM has a bit of a fetish for high AC/HP monsters, i've found.
I'll have (unless I get more, somehow) 35 to hit and a minimum of 50 damage in two levels, at least for the truly dangerous fights.
I'm wanting to net better than a +2 weapon and to steal another party members (they left the group) equipment before then.
He's already groaning at my 26 (or so) to hit and 44 minimum to damage.

Huh. Alright then.

I'm considering playing the dragon racial paragon class from In the Company of Dragons, so this is helpful.

You could take the Sphere-Specific drawback for Destruction that lets you only use one blast type group, and use that to pick up bramble blast. Then you'd be good to go.

Recall that you can buy off sphere-specific ones later. It's essentially a talent-loan.

stop. this escalation is naturally going to reach the point where the rest of the party is not gonna be able to overcome any AC at all.

this sounds fucking cool, but I'm pretty biased.

ooh, nice. I like it.

Thanks for the suggestions, gonna run it by my GM.

You probably don't need speak to plants yet, but that's your decision.

Seriously, consider drawbacks for spellpoints. The three I mentioned are relatively light on the penalties.

I hope you're ready to fight some monsters that have, in addition to their ridiculously bloated HP/AC, resistances/immunities to the damage you can deal.

Depends.

If it is a natural attack, the answer is no; you get as mahy attacks as you have natural attacks (which is why changelings and catfolk are good at fighting early on). If you mix natural attacks with weapon attaks, then yes, but your benalties are so severe that it's not worthwhile at all (-4 with every natural attack and 1/2 strength bonus for it being a secondary attack, no matter how many feats you spend into it).

Hands raised:
how many of your characters stopped aiming at the enemies' AC and instead focused directly on their saves?

Every single spellcaster that didn't want to spend all their combat time rolling d20s.

Would a class based on a combination of minor, passive, toggled auras and active, Concentration-based, more significant auras be something worth working on?

I was thinking it could be fluffed as minor Presences and major Chants, or maybe Hymns, that cause certain effects as long as they're in use in a radius based on class level, with some of the higher level class features including using multiple Presences and Chants at once. The Chants and Presences would be selected from a list for customization purposes and would vary between buffs, debuffs, and straight-up damaging effects. Every so often you'd receive another class feature from a list allowing you to mess with the base mechanics of the class features, like convert a chant into a cone effect, or center it on an ally instead, for an increase in the Concentration check DC, or decrease the Concentration check DC by spending full-round actions instead of standard actions, or increase the DC to maintain it as a move or even swift action. Stuff like that.

Is anyone interested in this idea, or is it dumb?

I know, right!? I've seen a couple of artists do this (mostly porn artists but shhh, that's unimportant)

I mean, I get wanting to kill your DA or other profile, but the amount of effort they go through to completely scrub the net of their objectionally good art just because they got mad/sad over some bullshit is so fucking crazy...

I went verbal, somatic x2, and magical signs. Speak with Plants is a) backstory-relevant and b) another source of information-gathering for a party I'm relatively sure is light on it.

Oh, he doesn't adjust it for me, he's cool like that. Group is kinda good at optimizing (except one dude) and all of us have our specializations anyway, mine just happens to be spitting raw damage. We have a witch whos pure battefield control, a bard that's actually inspiring and helps everyone at everything, and a swashbuckler who can stand in the middle of a tornado surrounded by demons and not get hit by debris/attacks
I love my group

I just like being like "what's it's AC? oh wait, i don't give a shit, i hit on twos"
and then I roll 5 ones in a single session

Shoulda tacked focus on there for a spell point every level and a reason to carry around some specific item.

Like I said, the speak with plants talent is your choice. Then again, I'm not really a plant-control sort.

Sounds like a blast

consider investing into some intimidate, so you can just incur AC penalty on the opponents instead, and even target their flatfooted AC

Shoulda, but I don't like focus casting for dumb reasons

I'm planning an undine druid for an upcoming Skull and Shackles game. I have no clue how to build a druid, but I'm gonna play one.

Be a Storm Druid and be like, Poseidon. Or whoever that ocean goddess lady they used for Pirates of the Caribbean was.

seems cool to me, it be dependent on the chants and hymns of course, but I think it'd good add another supportive class that doesn't just use spells to do so. Skalds and bards are a good example of what this class should be like, but less spells and skills/fury and more utility and buffing with minor debuffs. An archetype would be useful that focuses more on the debuffs than helping your teammates themselves.

Sounds a bit like truenaming, which...hasn't been done well yet.

it is, just pissed I didn't join the campaign like 2 months earlier, I could have, easily.

>consider investing in some intimidate

>TFW currently sitting at +18 intimidate without magical items
>and 6 Charisma
>not +6 Charisma bonus, 6 charisma
>or 23 intimidate with a single magical item that's part of the AP
>at level 10
I have that covered.
I should really get that free intimidate feat next level, though, thanks for the reminder

>undine druid in S&S

Good taste, expect a lot of issues on island adventures (of which there are a fair amount). Make sure you grab the amphibious alternate racial trait so you can just breath and swim underwater without wasting spells.

>be Tia Dalma a.k.a. Calypso
This is a swanky idea. Keep the undine part, though, that's gonna save your ass like nothing else.

I could be Poseidon but I doubt a horse would make a good animal companion on a ship.

Calypso. She's a Greek mythological figure also, but the movie got her all wrong. She's a nymph in the myth.

Undine, not Merfolk.

Undine are watery slyphs.

Undine have a trait that makes them amphibious though, without the shitty land speed.

>undine, not merfolk
gyazo.com/9eb711d4ad06fa49cb8b6420ab73ed9d

Did I fucking stutter?

Shaman or Witch, which would be more interesting choice for support/debuffer?

I'm sorry, I made a fool of myself.

Depends entirely on how imaginative you are.

If you pull off a kitsune's tails, will they die?

Well I was thinking of mechanically interesting to play in combat...

...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocampus_(mythology)

Hippocampi, dude.

They're mer-horses.
